Intelligent Manufacturing in the Context of Industry 4.0： A Review

Our next generation of industry-lndustry 4.0-holds the promise of increased flexibility in manufacturing, along with mass customization, better quality, and improved productivity. It thus enables companies to cope with the challenges of producing increasingly individualized products with a short lead-time to market and higher quality. Intelligent manufacturing plays an important role in Industry 4.0. typical resources are converted into intelligent objects so that they are able to sense, act, and behave within a smart environment. In order to fully understand intelligent manufacturing in the context of Industry 4.0, this paper provides a comprehensive review of associated topics such as intelligent manufacturing, Internet of things （Iot）- enabled manufacturing, and cloud manufacturing. Similarities and differences in these topics are highlighted based on our analysis. We also review key technologies such as the lot, cyber-physical systems （CPSs）, cloud computing, big data analytics （BDA）, and information and communications technology （ICt） that are used to enable intelligent manufacturing. Next, we describe worldwide movements in intelligent manufacturing, including governmental strategic plans from different countries and strategic plans from major international companies in the European Union, United States, Japan, and China. Finally, we present current challenges and future research directions. the concepts discussed in this paper will spark new ideas in the effort to realize the much-anticipated Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Martensitic transformation in Fe-Mn-Si Based Shape Memory Alloys

the critical driving force for martensitic transformation fcc ( gamma ) yields hcp ( epsilon ) in ternary Fe-Mn-Si alloys increases with the content of Mn and decreases with that of Si. thermodynamical prediction of M//s in ternary Fe-Mn-Si alloys was established. the fcc ( gamma ) yields hcp ( epsilon ) martensitic transformation in Fe-Mn-Si is a semi-thermoelastic and the nucleation process does not strongly depend on soft mode. Nucleation occurs directly through an overlapping of stacking fault rather than pole mechanism, and it is suggested that stacking fault energy (SFE) is the main factor controlling nucleation. Based on the phenomenological theory of martensite crystallography, a shuffle on (0001)//h//c//p plane is required when d//1//1//1 does not equal d//0//0//0//2. the derived principal strain in Bain distortion is smaller, i, e., more reasonable than the values given by Christian. Alloying elements strengthening the austenite, lowering SFE of gamma phase and reducing t//N** gamma temperature may be beneficial to shape memory effect of Fe-Mn-Si based alloys. Accordingly, Fe-Mn-Si-RE and Fe-Mn-Si-Cr-N (or Fe-Mn-Si-Ni-Cr-N) are worthy to be recommended as shape memory materials with improved shape memory effect. (Edited author abstract) 48 Refs.

Discrete Element Modelling of Dynamic Behaviour of Rockfills forResisting High Speed Projectile Penetration

this paper presents a convex polyhedral based discrete element method for modelling the dynamic behaviour ofrockfills for resisting high speed projectile penetration. the contact between two convex polyhedra is defined by theMinkowski overlap and determined by the GJK and EPA algorithm. the contact force is calculated by a Minkowskioverlap based normal model. the rotational motion of polyhedral particles is solved by employing a quaternionbased orientation representation scheme. the energy-conserving nature of the polyhedral DEM method ensures arobust and effective modelling of convex particle systems. the method is applied to simulate the dynamic behaviourof a rockfill system under impact of a high speed projectile. the rockfill sample is generated by a three-dimensionalVoronoi meso method with a specific particle size distribution. the penetrating process of the projectile strikingthe rockfill target is simulated. Some physical quantities associated with the projectile such as the residual velocity,penetration resistance, and deflection angle are monitored which can reflect the influence of the characteristics ofthe rockfill target on its anti-penetration performance. It can be concluded that the developed polyhedral DEMmethod is a very promising numerical approach in analysing the dynamic behaviour of rockfill systems subject tohigh speed projectile impact.

In Vitro Evaluation of the Feasibility of Commercial Zn Alloys as Biodegradable Metals

In this work, three widely used commercial Zn alloys （ZA4-1, ZA4-3, ZA6-1 ） were purchased and pre- pared by hot extrusion at 200℃. the microstructure, mechanical properties, corrosion behaviors, biocompatibility and hemocompatibility of Zn alloys were studied with pure Zn as control, Commercial Zn alloys demonstrated increased strength and superb elongation compared with pure Zn. Accelerated corrosion rates and uniform corrosion morphologies were observed in terms of commercial Zn alloys due to galvanic effects between Zn matrix and α-Al phases. 100% extracts of ZA4-1 and ZA6-1 alloys showed mild cytotoxicity while 50% extracts of all samples displayed good biocompatibility. Retardant cell cycle and inhibited stress fibers expression were observed induced by high concentration of Zn^2＋ releasing during corrosion. the hemolysis ratios of Zn alloys were lower than 1% while the adhered platelets showed slightly activated morphologies. In general, commercial Zn alloys possess promising mechanical properties, appropriate corrosion rates, significantly improved biocompatibility and good hemocompatibility in comparison to pure Zn. It is feasible to develop biodegradable metals based on commercial Zn alloys.

Properties of the πh_(9/2)  νi_(13/2) band in odd-odd ^(188)Au

A new rotational band has been identified and assigned to 188Au for the first time using the 173yb(19F,4nγ) reaction at the beam energies of 86 and 90 MeV. this band is proposed to be built on the πh9/2  νi13/2 configuration by comparing the band properties with known bands in neighboring nuclei. the prolate-to-oblate shape transition through triaxial shape has been proposed to occur around 188Au for the πh9/2  νi13/2 bands in odd-odd Au isotopes on the basis of total Routhian surface (tRS) calculations.

A simulation study of the e^+/e^- sensitivity of a low resistive phosphate glass electrode in a RPC using GEANt MC

the resistivity of conventional glass is quite high and is unacceptable in a high rate environment. Low resistive glass-electrodes could be a solution for this problem. the present study reports the e^＋/e^- simulation results of an RPC detector made from low resistive phosphate glass electrodes. the detailed geometrical configuration of the content materials which are the essential components of the glass of the RPC detector have been created with the GEANt4 simulation code. two different types of particle sources, i.e. for e^＋/e^- , have been located on the detectors surface to evaluate the performance of the phosphate glass RPC. Both of the particles have been simulated as a function of their respective energies in the range of 0.1 MeV 1.0 GeV. the present simulation work has shown that the resistive electrode plays an important role for the particle production in the RPC configuration.

Effect of temperature and Phase Constitution on Kinetics of La Diffusion

the diffusion of La in ε-Fe 2～3N(ε)and γ′-Fe 4N (γ′)phases produced by plasma nitriding was studied. It is found that with increasing nitriding time, the ε phase continuously decomposes into γ′ one under employed experimental conditions and compared with γ′ phase or ε+γ′ ones, the mono one ε has an impedient effect on depth of La diffusion. the growth of La layer in dual phases and mono one follows an approximate exponential law and a parabolic one, respectively, and this kinetics law does not change with increasing temperature. the effect of increasing temperature in the range of 520 to 560 ℃ on La diffusion depth is less than that of phase constitution change such as the decomposition of ε phase into γ′ one.

Bell Polynomial Approach for the Solutions of Fredholm Integro- Differential Equations with Variable Coefficients

In this article,we approximate the solution of high order linear Fredholm integro-differential equations with a variable coefficient under the initial-boundary conditions by Bell *** collocation points and treating the solution as a linear combination of Bell polynomials,the problem is reduced to linear system of equations whose unknown variables are Bell *** solution to this algebraic system determines the approximate *** estimation of approximate solution is *** examples are provided to illustrate the performance of the *** numerical results are compared with the collocation method based on Legendre polynomials and the other two methods based on taylor *** is observed that the method is better than Legendre collocation method and as accurate as the methods involving taylor polynomials.

Flotation and surface modification characteristics of galena,sphalerite and pyrite in collecting-depressing-reactivating system

the flotation tests and XPS analyses on galena,sphalerite and pyrite have been carried out in a collecting-depressing-reactivating system(hereafter referred as the CDR system).In this system,sulfide minerals were first collected and activated by the collector,and then depressed strongly by Ca(OH)2 in the strong alkaline solution,and finally reactivated by *** flotation tests of pure minerals show that in this system the flotation behaviors of sphalerite and pyrite present irreversible characteristics along with the change of pulp ***,through the CDR system,considerable differences in the flotabilities between galena and sphalerite/pyrite are also *** XPS analysis results for galena,sphalerite and pyrite in a CDR system show that in the strong alkaline solution,some of the collectors,that have been already adsorbed on the mineral surface in the collecting process,are desorbed by Ca(OH)*** XPS analysis results also show that in H2SO4 reactivating process,the surface hydroxides of galena are desorbed again by H2SO4 and replaced by diethyl dithiocarbamate,but those of sphalerite and pyrite are not *** flotation system may be applied to the bulk-differential flotation process of sulfur-bearing low-grade lead-zinc ores.
