Ti and its alloys have been broadly adopted across various industries owing to their outstanding proper-ties,such as high strength-to-weight ratio,excellent fatigue performance,exceptional corrosion resistance and so *** manufacturing(AM)is a complement to,rather than a replacement for,traditional manufacturing *** enhances flexibility in fabricating complex components and resolves machin-ing challenges,resulting in reduced lead times for custom ***,owing to distinctions among various AM technologies,Ti alloys fabricated by different AM methods usually present differences in mi-crostructure and defects,which can significantly influence the mechanical performance of built ***,having an in-depth knowledge of the scientific aspects of fabrication and material properties is crucial to achieving high-performance Ti alloys through different AM *** article reviews the mechanical properties of Ti alloys fabricated by two mainstream powder-type AM techniques:powder bed fusion(PBF)and directed energy deposition(DED).The review examines several key aspects,en-compassing phase formation,grain size and morphology,and defects,and provides an in-depth analysis of their influence on the mechanical behaviors of Ti *** review can aid researchers and engi-neers in selecting appropriate PBF or DED methods and optimizing their process parameters to fabricate high-performance Ti alloys for a wide range of industrial applications.

The Ni(OH)2/SiO2 binary colloid was prepared using Ni(NO3)2.6H2O and (C2H5O)4SiO4 as starting materials and was used to form NiO/SiO2. composite powder by hydrothermal method and desiccant method in open air respectively. Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were synthesized respectively by chemical vapor deposition using the NiO/SiO2 catalyst prepared by different methods. The phase and morphology of the catalysts and the morphology, output yield and purity of MWCNTs were compared by XRD, TEM and SEM. The results show that the catalyst powder prepared by hydrothermal method, compared with that by desiccant method, is smaller, better dispersion and has stronger catalytic activity. Pure MWCNTs with smaller tube diameter and narrow range could be obtained at a high yield using that NiO/SiO2 powder prepared by hydrothermal method as catalyst.

The equilibrium p-c-T data were determined by a microbalance in a vacuum system at hydrogen pressures up to 3.5 MPa on four Pd-In alloys between 3.64 and 14.53 at. % In as well as on Pure Pd. The results are similar to those obtained on the analogous alloys Pd-Ag and Pd-Sn and are interpreted in the same manner. In has two opposing effects upon the solubility of H in the Pd alloys, i.e., increase of the Fermi energy upon the donation of valence electrons and a lattice dilatation. At valence electron concentrations below 0.5, the lattice dilatation predominates and the H solubility is increased with addition of In. At valence electron concentrations above 0.5, the influence of the elevated Fermi energy predominates and the H solubility is lowered by addition of In. The molar enthalpy of Pd hydriding at infinite dilution is strongly increased with increasing In content, but the molar entropy is not nearly as much affected by the Presence of In. The excess chemical potential of hydrogen at small hydrogen concentrations and at a given temperature increases with an increase of In content. The apparent H-H attractive interaction energy, W H-H, is decreased by the presence of In. The trend is also similar to that found for the Pd-Ag-H and Pd-Sn-H system.

A new way of designing and preparing silicon nitride ceramic composite with high fracture toughness and nacre structure has been proposed. To mimic the laminated structure of nacre, Si_3N_4 matrix ceramic layer can be obtained through compacting rolling method. To mimic the secondary toughening of nacre structure, SiC whisker is added into Si_3N_4 and acts as the secondary toughening phase. Boron nitride (BN)is selected to mimic the organic layer in nacre so as to form the weak interfaces between Si_3N_4 layers. Alumina is added into BN to adjust the bonding strength of the *** Si_3N_4 sheets are stacked into the die after coating with BN. After the removal of the organic matter in them, the green body is hot pressed at 1820℃for 1.5 hours under N_2 atmosphere. The fracture toughness of the so-made Si_3N_4 composite at room temperature is 20.36MPa m￣(1/2), the three-point bending strength at room temperature is 651.47MPa. The crack spreads and deflects along the interface between BN and Si_3N_4 layer and extends through the BN layer into Si_3N_4 layer. The improvement of the fracture toughness may be due to the staircase-shape-like crack which provides the long crack path, the fracture and deformation of Si_3N_4 layer, and the pullout of SiC whiskers from the Si_3N_4 layer.

Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy(ARPES)and torque magnetometry(TM)measurements have been carried out to study the electronic structures of a correlated topological insulator(TI)candidate yb *** observed clear surface states on the[001]surface centered at theГ^- and М^- points of the surface Brillouin ***,the fermiology revealed by the quantum oscillation of TM measurements agrees excellently with ARPES ***,the band structures we observed suggest that the band inversion in yb B6 happens between the yb5 dand B2bands,instead of the yb5dand yb4fbands as suggested by previous theoretical investigation,which will help settle the heavy debate regarding the topological nature of samarium/ytterbium hexaborides.

On the Bearing Capacity of Chemical Churning Piles

DEVElOPMENT OF l-BAND AND X-BAND ESR IMAGING SySTEMS IN CHINA

＜正＞Methods are presented for predicting the ultimate capacity of single chemical churning pile and that of compound foundation under rigid load. Evaluating the lateral displacement of the subsoil under surface loads is shown by the fitting curve *** for the lateral displacement and internal forces of piles in homogeneous soils under the interaction of axial and lateral loads are *** comparison with results from full scale tests in field,it is shown that the predictions suggested herein can be used with sufficient accuracy for practical purposes.
