Debris Flow Susceptibility Evaluation in Meizoseismal Region:A Case Study in Jiuzhaigou,China

Jiuzhaigou is situated on a mountain-canyon region and is famous for frequent tectonic *** abundance of loose co-seismic landslides and collapses were produced on gullies after the Jiuzhaigou Earthquake on August 8,2017,which was served as material source for debris flow in later *** flow appears frequently which are seriously endangering the safety of people's lives and *** the earliest debris flow appeared in areas where no case ever reported *** debris flow susceptibility evaluation(DFSE)is used for predicting the areas prone to debris flow,which is urgently required to avoid hazards and help to guide the strategy of preventive ***,this work employs debris flow in Jiuzhaigou to reveal the characteristics of disaster-pregnant environment and to explore the application of machine learning in *** new viewpoints are suggested:(i)Material density factor of debris flow is first adopted in this work,and it is proved to be a critical factor for triggering debris flows by sensitivity analysis method.(ii)Deep neural network and convolutional neural network(CNN)achieve relatively good area under the curve(AUC)values and are 0.021-0.024 higher than traditional machine learning methods.(iii)Watershed units combined with CNNbased model can achieve more accurate,reliable and practical susceptibility *** work provides an idea for prevention of debris flow in mountainous lands.

Tomographic particle image velocimetry measurement on three-dimensional swirling flow in dual-stage counter-rotating swirler

Three-Dimensional(3D)swirling flow structures,generated by a counter-rotating dualstage swirler in a confined chamber with a confinement ratio of 1.53,were experimentally investigated at Re=2.3×10^(5)using Tomographic Particle Image Velocimetry(Tomo-PIV)and planar Particle Image Velocimetry(PIV).Based on the analysis of the 3D time-averaged swirling flow structures and 3D Proper Orthogonal Decomposition(POD)of the Tomo-PIV data,typical coherent flow structures,including the Corner Recirculation Zone(CRZ),Central Recirculation Zone(CTRZ),and Lip Recirculation Zone(LRZ),were *** counter-rotating dual-stage swirler with a Venturi flare generates the independence process of vortex breakdown from the main stage and pilot stage,leading to the formation of an LRZ and a smaller CTRZ near the nozzle *** confinement squeezes the CRZ to the corner and causes a reverse rotation flow to limit the shape of the CTRZ.A large-scale flow structure caused by the main stage features an explosive breakup,flapping,and Precessing Vortex Core(PVC).The explosive breakup mode dominates the swirling flow structures owing to the expansion and construction of the main jet,whereas the flapping mode is related to the wake *** limits the expansion of PVC and causes it to contract after the impacting area.

Recycling of Silicone Rubber from Composite Insulator with Pyrolysis Method

Composite insulators have been widely used in transmission *** being removed from transmission lines,their housing silicone material cannot degrade *** tackle this problem,this paper proposes an effective method to recycle waste insulators by pyrolysis to obtain mullite(3Al_(2)O_(3)·2SiO_(2))with high purity and compact *** recycling process studied will not generate toxic *** thermal degradation process of housing material is investigated by analyzing its degradation products including the gas and residues in *** experimental results indicate that the colorant agent Fe2O3 inside the housing material is beneficial for the generation of mullite by decreasing the temperature of ***,since the transitional alumina generated by the dehydration of aluminum hydroxide(ATH)has a smaller diameter and can better dissolute into the silica phases,ATH is a better choice as the additional aluminum *** comparing the components,structure,and particle size of grains formed at different calcination temperatures,the proposed pyrolysis temperatures of the two stages are 1400◦C and 1600◦C,respectively.

Capacity Market Mechanism Design,Considering Network Optimization and Energy Transition

The coordination of enrgy transition,fixed cost recovery,and sufficient generation supply leads to a new challenge for a traditional capacity market ***,in order to better match network expansion at the same time,it is crucial to redesign the capacity market mechanism considering system *** this paper,a novel capacity market mechanism is proposed considering spot market operations,network expansion,and energy transition,which can minimize the total cost of capacity investment,network expansion,and generation operations,while satisfying the energy transition constraints and topology ***,the capacity market mechanism co-ordinated with spot market operations is illustrated,in which the energy transition and network constraints are ***,a bi-level optimization model is established where the trade organizers minimize the total cost of both investment and operations,subject to the spot power market simultaneously minimizing the local dispatching *** numerical results of a test system show that more economical capacity portfolios can be obtained by constructing reasonable transmission lines,thereby obtaining a more optimal market cost.A detailed multi-scenario simulation is further analyzed to verify the effectiveness of the proposed market mechanism.

A privacy-preserving method for publishing data with multiple sensitive attributes

The overgeneralisation may happen because most studies on data publishing for multiple sensitive attributes(SAs)have not considered the personalised privacy ***,sensitive information disclosure may also be caused by these personalised *** address the matter,this article develops a personalised data publishing method for multiple *** to the requirements of individuals,the new method partitions SAs values into two categories:private values and public values,and breaks the association between them for privacy *** the private values,this paper takes the process of anonymisation,while the public values are released without this *** algorithm is designed to achieve the privacy mode,where the selectivity is determined by the sensitive value frequency and undesirable *** experimental results show that the proposed method can provide more information utility when compared with previous *** theoretic analyses and experiments also indicate that the privacy can be guaranteed even though the public values are known to an *** overgeneralisation and privacy breach caused by the personalised requirement can be avoided by the new method.

Data-driven evacuation and rescue traffic optimization with rescue contraflow control

In response to local sudden disasters,e.g.,high-rise office or residential building fire disasters,road occupation can cause conflicts,and traffic directions may be opposite between evacuation vehicles and rescue vehicles;moreover,lane contraflow can be adopted to meet these surge traffic ***,lane contraflow that provides more roads for rescue vehicles reduces the traffic supply in the evacuation *** is unclear how to control the number of contraflow roads used by rescue vehicles to coordinate evacuation and rescue traffic ***,we adjust the critical rescue traffic volume of reversing the normal road traffic direction to control rescue ***,we propose a multiobjective mixed integer linear programming formulation for evacuation and rescue traffic ***,considering that the upper limit of the critical rescue traffic volume is unknown and that the proposed formulation includes multiple objectives and multi-priority vehicle classes,a three-stage solving algorithm is ***,a large-scale evacuation and rescue traffic optimization result dataset is obtained for the Nguyen–Dupuis road network,and the impact of different rescue contraflow control plans on evacuation and rescue traffic is studied based on data-driven sta-tistical *** results show that by adjusting the optimal rescue traffic route,the critical rescue traffic volume for reversing the normal road traffic direction can reduce the interference of rescue traffic to evacuation traffic operation performance without reducing rescue traffic operation performance,and can be used to coor-dinate evacuation and rescue traffic operation under rescue contraflow.

Biological sources, paleoenvironment, and organic matter enrichment in source rocks of the Ordovician Majiagou Formation, Ordos Basin, China:Evidence from biomarkers,microfossils, and inorganic geochemical analyses

Carbonate deposits in the Ordovivian Majiagou Formation are significant source rocks for natural gas generation in the Ordos Basin, northwestern China. Previous studies mainly focused on the organic matter enrichment mechanism of shales rather than carbonate rocks. The biological sources and paleoenvironment of carbonate source rocks, and the main controlling factors of organic matter enrichment in the carbonate source rocks were studied in this paper in combination with evidence from biomarkers, microfossils and inorganic geochemistry analysis. The results show that four types of microfacies were identified in the Majiagou Formation, respectively as: mud flat microfacies, mud-dolomite flat microfacies, dolomite flat microfacies, and open marine microfacies. The biological sources of organic matter are chiefly planktonic algae, followed by bacteria. The mud flat and mud-dolomite flat contain a high abundance of terrigenous detrital inputs, as indicated by the high content of Al_(2)O_(3), TiO_(2), Th, and Zr. The low Sr/Cu and high Rb/Sr values reveal warm and humid paleoclimate conditions in the mud flat and mud-dolomite flat, whereas the dolomite flat and open marine were likely formed in hot and arid paleoclimate conditions. The mud flat and mud-dolomite flat deposits were characterized by high paleoproductivity of the Majiagou Formation. Low Sr/Ba values were found in the mud flat samples, indicating fresh to brackish water condition, whereas samples of other facies have a relatively high degree of salinity. Based on U_(auth), Mo_(auth), Cr_(auth), Co_(auth), δCe, and δEu values, the mud flat microfacies was formed in a suboxic and anoxic environment, whereas the mud-dolomite flat, dolomite flat and open marine microfacies were within dysoxic to oxic conditions. A model of organic matter enrichment in the Majiagou Formation is thus established. Study of Pyrolysis Characteristics and Kinetic Analysis of Shenmu Coal at a High Heating Rate Using TG-FTIR

Coal pyrolysis is a fundamental reaction in the thermal processing and utilization of *** the behavior and kinetics of coal pyrolysis is crucial for optimizing,designing,and developing a composite riser for the staged pyrolysis gasification process of pulverized *** this study,the non-isothermal pyrolysis behavior and kinetics of coal were examined at different heating rates(30,50,100,300,500,700,and 900℃/min)using thermogravimetry(TG)coupled with Fourier-transform infrared *** of the TG/derivative TG(TG/DTG)curves indicated that coal pyrolysis mainly occurred between 300℃ and 700℃.Higher heating rates led to more volatiles being released from the coal,and a higher temperature was required to achieve rapid *** analysis showed that both the model-free methods(Friedman,Flynn-Wall-Ozawa,and Kissinger-Akahira-Sunose)and the model-based method(Coats-Redfern)effectively describe the coal pyrolysis *** change in the Ea values between the two kinetic models was consistent throughout the pyrolysis process,and the most probable mechanism was the F2 model(secondary chemical reaction).In addition,the heating rate did not change the overall reaction order of the pyrolysis process;however,a higher heating rate resulted in a decrease in the Ea value during the initial pyrolysis stage.

Highly cycle-stable VOPO_(4)-based cathodes for magnesium ion batteries:Insight into the role of interlayer engineering in batteries performance

It is the sluggish ion migration kinetics that seriously affects the practical performance of the magnesium ion *** though an electrode material design using rational interlayer engineering method could effectively solve this issue,the optimal interlayer distance remains ***,various VOPO_(4)-based electrodes with expanded interlayer spacing were fabricated and the relationship between interlayer structure and battery performance was *** analysis combined with computations unveils the existence of an optimal interlayer structure,as inadequate expansion failed to fully utilization of the material performance,while excessive expansion degraded the electrode *** them,the electrode with triethylene glycol(TEG)intercalation exhibited optimized performance,maintaining excellent cycling stability(191.3 mAh·g^(−1)after 800 cycles).Density functional theory(DFT)demonstrated the effectiveness and limitations to lowering the migration energy barrier by expanding the interlayer *** addition,systematic mechanism research revealed the Mg^(2+)storage process:The stepwise shuttling of Mg^(2+)along the directions that lie in(001)plane triggers two pairs of redox processes,namely V^(5+)/V^(4+)and V^(4+)/V^(3+).This study,regulation of layer spacing to achieve the best integrated performance of electrodes,could deepen the understanding of interlayer engineering and guide the design of advanced multivalent-ion batteries.
