Molecular behavior of the aptamer HJ24 self-assembled on highly oriented pyrolytic graphite(HOPG)

Nucleic acid sensing analysis has been widely applied to the fields of food quality control, environmental monitoring, and medical diagnosis. A key step in developing effective DNA-based electrochemical biosensors is to obtain a biorecognition layer on the biosensor, which can be influenced by many factors. Hence, we constructed a series of HJ24 layers on highly oriented pyrolytic graphite to investigate the relation between the configuration of the adsorbed probe HJ24 and the redox property using atomic force microscopy and voltammetry. We used HJ24 for its diagnostic value as it specifically recognizes the SH2 domain-containing phosphatase, a critical contributor in many important signaling pathways. The results demonstrated that increasing K ions induced G-quartet oxidation peak occurrence/increase([K+]?400 mmol/L), and also resulted in the formation of more compact single strand sheets([K+]?300 mmol/L). Moreover, transitions of molecule configurations and redox currents of G-quartets were observed at low concentration [K+]=12 mmol/L, which may indicate the appearance of new configurations under this condition. Besides, by analyzing atomic force microscopy(AFM) images, it was found that the different adsorbed configurations are correlated with the HJ24 concentration, the basal configuration, and the linker group on the HJ24 sequence. This information may be useful for understanding the adsorption process of HJ24 as well as for the further development of practical applications for HJ24 films on DNA electrochemical sensors, and may ultimately help improve the diagnosis and treatment of patients with SHP2-related diseases.

Characteristics and origins of middle Miocene mounds and channels in the northern South China Sea

Numerous elongated mounds and channels were found at the top of the middle Miocene strata using 2D/3D seismic data in the Liwan Sag of Zhujiang River Mouth Basin(ZRMB)and the Beijiao Sag of Qiongdongnan Basin(QDNB).They occur at intervals and are rarely revealed by drilling wells in the deepwater *** of the mounds and channels are controversial and poorly *** on an integrated analysis of the seismic attribute,palaeotectonics and palaeogeography,and drilling well encountering a mound,research results show that these mounds are dominantly distributed on the depression centres and/or slopes of the Liwan and Beijiao sags and developed in a bathyal sedimentary *** the Liwan and Beijiao sags,the mounds between channels(sub)parallel to one another are 1.0–1.5 km and 1.5–2.0 km wide,150–300 m and 150–200 m high,and extend straightly from west to east for 5–15 km and 8–20 km,*** and channels in the Liwan Sag are parallel with the regional *** and channels in the Beijiao Sag,however,are at a small angle to the regional *** to internal geometry,texture and external morphology of mounds,the mounds in Beijiao Sag are divided into weak amplitude parallel reflections(mound type I),blank or chaotic reflections(mound type II),and internal mounded reflections(mound typeⅢ).The mounds in Liwan Sag,however,have the sole type,i.e.,mound type *** type I originates from the incision of bottom currents and/or gravity *** type II results from gravity-driven sediments such as *** typeⅢis a result of deposition and incision of bottom currents *** channels with high amplitude between mounds in the Beijiao and Liwan sags are a result of gravity-flow sediments and it is suggested they are filled by *** channels with low-mediate amplitudes are filled by bottom-current sediments only in the Beijiao Sag,where they are dominantly composed of *** study provides new insi

We report the successful synthesis and characterization of a novel 1111-type magnetic semiconductor(Ba_(1−x)Na_(x))F(Zn_(1−x)Mn_(x))Sb(0.05≤x≤0.175)with tetragonal ZrSiCuAs-type structure,which is isostructural to the layered iron-based superconductor La(O,F)*** substitutions for Ba and Mn substitutions for Zn introduce carriers and local magnetic moments,*** interaction is formed when Na and Mn are codoped,demonstrating that local magnetic moments are mediated by ***-thermal magnetization shows that the coercive field is as large as-12000 Oe,which is also reflected in the large split between the temperature-dependent magnetization in zero-field-cooling and field-cooling *** susceptibility under zero field demonstrates that samples evolve into spin-glass state below spin freezing temperature T_(f).The measurements of temperature-dependent resistivity indicate that(Ba_(1−x)Na_(x))F(Zn_(1−x)Mn_(x))Sb exhibits semiconducting behaviour.

Objective One of major challenges in paleoenvironmental reconstruction using travertine in the Huanglong area is whether one can accurately determinate the age of travertine through high-precision and high-resolution dating techniques. Previous works of 14C or ESR chronology, however, have shown that the variation of deposition ages of travertine was displayed inconsistent with each other even conflict. For instance, （1） The oldest travertine age （80 ka） located in the middle of this travertine succession is departure from sequential deposition; （2） Top or boundary ages in this sedimentary section, even with the same dating method （14C）, are three times errors, moreover, the age of the depositional sequence is not continuous. We report here the U230Th ages in lowest boundary of travertine in Dawanzhangjia Valley, Huanglong, China, to discuss the effectiveness of U-series dating for cold-water travertine and the significance of age for vicissitude of paleoenvironment.
