Ungulate bocaparvovirus 4 and rodent bocavirus are different genotypes of the same species of virus

Bocaviruses are associated with many human infectious diseases, such as respiratory tract infections, gastroenteritis, and hepatitis. Rats are known to be reservoirs of bocaviruses, including rodent bocavirus and rat bocavirus.Recently, ungulate bocaparvovirus 4, a known porcine bocavirus, has also been found in rats. Thus, investigating bocaviruses in rats is important for determining the origin of the viruses and preventing and controlling their transmission. To the best of our knowledge, no study to date has investigated bocaviruses in the livers of rats. In this report, a total of 624 rats were trapped in southern China between 2014 and 2017. Liver and serum samples from rats were tested for the prevalence of bocaviruses using PCR. Sequences related to ungulate bocaparvovirus 4and rodent bocavirus were detected in both liver and serum samples. Interestingly, the prevalence of ungulate bocaparvovirus 4(reference strain: KJ622366.1) was higher than that of rodent bocavirus(reference strain:KY927868.1) in both liver(2.24% and 0.64%, respectively) and serum samples(2.19% and 0.44%, respectively).The NS1 regions of ungulate bocaparvovirus 4 and rodent bocavirus related sequences displayed over 84% and88% identity at the nucleic acid and amino acid levels, respectively. Furthermore, these sequences had similar genomic structure, genomic features, and codon usage bias, and shared a common ancestor. These viruses also displayed greater adaptability to rats than pigs. Our results suggested that ungulate bocaparvovirus 4 and rodent bocavirus may originate from rats and may be different genotypes of the same bocavirus species.

Practicing the concept of “structuring” processing in the manufacture of polymer films

Polymer processing is a technology used to transfer raw materials into products with different shapes and functionalities and is a key step for polymer application.After years of development,the polymer processing task has changed from traditional processing,which mainly addresses the specific shapes of articles and focuses on the effect of processing on the structures and properties of polymers,to modern processing,which directly transforms a“designed structure”into commercial products via processing.It is the so-called“structuring”processing.Owing to the unique long-chain nature and slow topological relaxation,polymers are always driven and frozen into different nonequilibrium conformations,providing an effective way to design a given polymer material with desired structure and tunable performances via processing.Among the endless number of processing techniques,film casting is a prototypical pathway involving high supercooling or/and a strong flow field,based on which diverse thin polymer films have been successfully developed.In this review,taking isotactic polypropylene(i PP)film as an example,we highlight the strategy of“structuring”processing,in which we transform various crystalline structures of i PP into diverse commercial film products.

Anode material with Li-Si nano-domains in three-dimensional carbon network

A micro-nano combined composite with Li-Si alloy nano-domains in three-dimensional carbon network was prepared as a novel electrode material.The carbon network constrained the volume contraction and promoted effectively charge transfer of the whole active material.Meanwhile,the abundant interfaces between Li-Si alloy and carbon bound by Li-C ionic bonds,not only enhanced the delithiation at interface but also ensured the structural integrity.The present composite exhibited excellent electrochemical performance.The specific capacity at the first lithiation was as high as 1133 mAh g;at a current density of 0.1 A g;,which is superior to those reported for the core-shell structured nanoparticles.The Coulombic Efficiency at the first cycle was 90.4%and kept stable at more than 99.0%after only 10 cycles.The capacity retention was nearly twice as that of the incompact mixture of Li-Si nanoparticles and carbon.The energy density of the full cell constructed by the present composite and sulfur was evaluated to be 3 times as high as that of the commercial lithium-ion batteries.This work provides a new universal strategy for developing Li-rich anode materials with high combination properties and low cost.

硅酮支架已应用于临床30余年,具有可现场加工、容易取出、肉芽增生较轻等优点,目前主要用于治疗气道狭窄、气道瘘。通过对硅酮支架的现场加工,可对其临床应用进行创新及探索以扩大适应证、减少并发症。本文介绍了现场套接支架或支架环技术及自制封堵支架或封堵器,前者通过外套接和内套接增加或缩小支架外径,以适应气道结构;后者通过对硅酮支架进行剪裁、缝合制成硅酮封堵支架或硅酮封堵器,主要用于封堵中心支气管管腔,治疗支气管胸膜瘘及顽固性大咯血等。随着呼吸介入学者的不断探索,将进一步优化硅酮支架的临床应用。

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease （COPD） is a complex disorder, characterized by an irreversible airflow limitation during breathing. This may lead to various extrapulmoanry comorbidities, such as cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, and diabetes mellitus （DM）. Type 2 （T2DM） accounts for a large proportion of DM, and is also showing a rising prevalence in developed and developing countries. In addition to the known factors for T2DM, several studies have demonstrated that COPD is also an important risk factor for T2DM. In this study, we aimed to determine the prevalence of COPD in patients with T2DM, and to analyze the clinical characteristics of COPD accompanied by T2DM.

Standardized ileal digestibility of amino acids in soybean meal fed to non-pregnant and pregnant sows

Background Two studies were designed to determine standard ileal crude protein(CP)and amino acid(AA)digestibility of soybean meal(SBM)from different origins fed to non-pregnant and pregnant sows.Seven solvent-extracted SBMs from soybeans produced in the USA,Brazil,and China were selected.In Exp.1,eight different diets were created:a nitrogen(N)-free diet and 7 experimental diets containing SBM from different origins as the only N source.Eight non-pregnant,multiparous sows were arranged in an 8×8 Latin square design(8 periods and 8 diets).In Exp.2,the diet formula was the same as in Exp.1.Eight gestating sows(parity 3)were assigned to 4 different diets in a replicated 4×3 Youden square design(three periods and four diets)in mid-gestation and again in late-gestation stages.Results When fed to non-pregnant and late-gestating sows,the standardized ileal digestibility(SID)of CP and most AAs from different SBM were not significantly different(P>0.05).When fed to mid-gestating sows,the SID values for Arg,His,Lys,Phe,Cys,Gly,Ser,and Tyr in SBM 1 were lower than in SBM 4 and 5(P<0.05),whereas SID for Leu from SBM 5 was higher than in SBM 1 and 4(P<0.05).SID values for Ile,Ala,and Asp from SBM 4 were lower than in SBM 1 and 5(P<0.05).Sows had significantly greater SID values for Lys,Ala,and Asp during mid-gestation when compared with late-gestation stages(P<0.05).Mid-gestating sows had greater SID value for Val and lower SID value for Tyr when compared with non-pregnant and late-gestating sows(P<0.01),whereas non-pregnant sows had significantly greater SID value for Met when compared with gestating sows(P<0.01).Conclusions When fed to mid-gestating sows,the SID values for most AAs varied among SBM samples.The SID values for Lys,Met,Val,Ala,Asp,and Tyr in SBM were affected by sow gestation stages.Our findings provide a cornerstone for accurate SBM use in sow diets.

IgA肾病(IgA nephropathy,IgAN)是目前全球范围内最常见的原发性肾小球肾炎,20%~40%的患者在诊断后20年内进展为终末期肾病。IgAN的发病机制尚不明确,临床治疗主要以控制病情进展为主,缺乏特异性治疗方案。围绕半乳糖缺乏的IgA1(galactose-deficient IgA1,Gd-IgA1)开展的一系列研究提示IgAN发病涉及多个环节。该文从IgA1的结构特征、IgAN患者体内Gd-IgA1抗体及含Gd-IgA1免疫复合物、Gd-IgA1免疫复合物在肾脏中的沉积、Gd-IgA1免疫复合物沉积对肾脏的损伤、补体在IgAN中的作用、IgA肾病的基因组学及黏膜免疫与IgAN等方面,综述了IgAN发病机制的研究进展,为进一步的研究和临床治疗提供线索和思路。

Abiotic stress reduces plant yield and quality.WRKY transcription factors play key roles in abiotic stress responses in plants,but the molecular mechanisms by which WRKY transcription factors mediate responses to drought and osmotic stresses in apple(Malus×domestica Borkh.)remain unclear.Here,we functionally characterized the apple GroupⅢWRKY gene MdWRKY115.qRT-PCR analysis showed that MdWRKY115 expression was up-regulated by drought and osmotic stresses.GUS activity analysis revealed that the promoter activity of MdWRKY115 was enhanced under osmotic stress.Subcellular localization and transactivation assays indicated that MdWRKY115 was localized to the nucleus and had a transcriptional activity domain at the N-terminal region.Transgenic analysis revealed that the overexpression of MdWRKY115 in Arabidopsis plants and in apple callus markedly enhanced their tolerance to drought and osmotic stresses.DNA affinity purification sequencing showed that MdWRKY115 binds to the promoter of the stress-related gene MdRD22.This binding was further verified by an electrophoretic mobility shift assay.Collectively,these findings suggest that MdWRKY115 is an important regulator of osmotic and drought stress tolerance in apple.

在新经济发展与传统产业升级背景下,社会经济对工程、技术类人才的需求结构和人才规格发生了巨大的转变,高职工科教育面临着时代挑战亟待变革,"新工科"成为高职教育发展的时代命题。但高职工科教育长期以来存在四大问题:以岗位设置专业窄化了知识能力体系,高职与本科衔接不畅降低了人才培养效率,校企合作不深阻碍了技术人才市场匹配,师生关系疏离淡漠了高职工科教育的人文环境,成为阻碍"新工科"建设的现实瓶颈。面对时代挑战与现实瓶颈,高职"工科"教育通过对接产业需求构建高职"新工科"专业结构,重构通识与跨界的高职"新工科"课程体系,加强师生互动,优化高职工科教育的人文环境三个维度实现变革。

Dietary fiber during gestation improves lactational feed intake of sows by modulating gut microbiota

Background The feed intake of sows during lactation is often lower than their needs.High-fiber feed is usually used during gestation to increase the voluntary feed intake of sows during lactation.However,the mechanism underlying the effect of bulky diets on the appetites of sows during lactation have not been fully clarified.The current study was conducted to determine whether a high-fiber diet during gestation improves lactational feed intake(LFI)of sows by modulating gut microbiota.Methods We selected an appropriate high-fiber diet during gestation and utilized the fecal microbial transplanta-tion(FMT)method to conduct research on the role of the gut microbiota in feed intake regulation of sows during lactation,as follows:high-fiber(HF)diet during gestation(n=23),low-fiber(LF)diet during gestation(n=23),and low-fiber diet+HF-FMT(LFM)during gestation(n=23).Results Compared with the LF,sows in the HF and LFM groups had a higher LFI,while the sows also had higher peptide tyrosine tyrosine and glucagon-like peptide 1 on d 110 of gestation(G110 d).The litter weight gain of piglets during lactation and weaning weight of piglets from LFM group were higher than LF group.Sows given a HF diet had lower Proteobacteria,especially Escherichia-Shigella,on G110 d and higher Lactobacillus,especially Lactobacil-lus_mucosae_LM1 and Lactobacillus_amylovorus,on d 7 of lactation(L7 d).The abundance of Escherichia-Shigella was reduced by HF-FMT in numerically compared with the LF.In addition,HF and HF-FMT both decreased the perinatal concentrations of proinflammatory factors,such as endotoxin(ET),lipocalin-2(LCN-2),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),and interleukin-1β(IL-1β).The concentration of ET and LCN-2 and the abundance of Proteobacteria and Escheri-chia-Shigella were negatively correlated with the LFI of sows.Conclusion The high abundance of Proteobacteria,especially Escherichia-Shigella of LF sows in late gestation,led to increased endotoxin levels,which result in inflammatory responses and adverse effects on the LFI of sows.Add
