Neonatal Dubin-Johnson Syndrome and its Differentiation from Biliary Atresia

Background and Aims:The aim was to determine if liver biochemistry indices can be used as biomarkers to help differentiate patients with neonatal Dubin–Johnson syndrome(nDJS)from those with biliary atresia(BA).Methods:Patients with genetically-confirmed nDJS or cholangiographically confirmed BA were retrospectively enrolled and randomly assigned to discovery or verification *** liver chemistries,measured during the neonatal period,were *** values were calculated by receiver operating characteristic curve ***:A cohort of 53 nDJS patients was recruited,of whom 13 presented with acholic stools,and 14 underwent diagnostic cholangiography or needle liver biopsy to differentiate from ***-five patients in the cohort,with complete biochemical information measured during the neonatal period,were compared with 133 infants with cholangiographically confirmed *** and direct bilirubin,alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotransferase(AST),total bile acids,alkaline phosphatase,and gamma-glutamyl transferase were significantly lower in nDJS than in *** the discovery cohort,the areas under the curve for ALT and AST were 0.908 and 0.943,*** the validation cohort,13/15 patients in the nDJS group were classified as nDJS,and 10/53 in the BA control group were positive(p<0.00001)with an ALT biomarker cutoff value of 75 IU/*** of 15 patients were classified as nDJS and none were classified positive in the BA group(13/15 vs.0/53,p<0.00001)with an AST cutoff of 87 IU/***:Having assembled and investigated the largest cohort of nDJS patients reported to date,we found that nDJS patients could be distinguished from BA patients using the serum AST level as a *** finding may be clinically useful to spare cholestatic nDJS patients unnecessary invasive procedures.

A strong physical unclonable function with machine learning immunity for Internet of Things application

The physical unclonable functions(PUFs) are novel cryptographic primitives in modern hardware security *** with traditional alternatives based on digital keys and non-volatile memory(NVM),the PUF system shows great unclonability,high efficiency,and physical attack ***,the conventional PUF design suffers from weak machine learning immunity,high storage overhead,and unreliability,making it difficult to implement in the Internet of Things(Io T) and edge computing *** paper presents a new PUF design that could solve the proposed *** utilizing the emission probability of traps commonly found in nano-scaled transistors,a model-based PUF system with strong machine learning resistance could be *** PUF design,called Prob-PUF,needs fewer challengeresponse pairs(CRPs) space and reveals superior resistance to modeling attacks due to the mixture of stable/random bits in its output ***,the Prob-PUF system could reach a high level of uniqueness and robustness,making it a potential candidate for future cryptographically secured protocols within the IoT.

Constructing heterostructured nanohybrid is considered as a prominent route to fabricate alternative electrocatalysts to commercial Pt/C for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER).In this work,(NH_(4))_(4)[NiH_(6)Mo_(6)O_(4)]·5H_(2)O polyoxometalates(NiMo_(6))are adopted as the cluster precursors for simple fabrication of heterostructured Pt-Ni_(3)Mo_(3)N nanohybrids supported by carbon black(Pt-Ni_(3)Mo_(3)N/C)without using additional N *** improved porosity and enhanced electronic interaction of Pt-Ni_(3)Mo_(3)N/C should be attributed to the integration of Pt with NiMo_(6),which favors the mass transport,promotes the formation of exposed catalytic sites,and benefits the regulation of intrinsic ***,the as-obtained Pt-Ni_(3)Mo_(3)N/C exhibits impressive and durable HER performance as indicated by the low overpotential of 13.7 mV at the current density of 10 mA cm^(-2) and the stable overpotential during continuous working at 100 mA cm^(-2) for 100 *** work provides significant insights for the synthesis of new highly active heterostructured electrocatalysts for renewable energy devices.

High-tenacity in-situ Ti/Zr-based bulk metallic glasses composites fabricated by industrial high-pressure die casting

The glass-forming ability and mechanical properties of metallic glasses and their composites are well known to be sensitive to the preparation conditions and are highly deteriorated by industrial preparing conditions such as low-purity raw materials and low ***,we showed that a series of in-situ bulk metallic glass composites(BMGCs)which exhibit excellent ductility and segmental work hardening were successfully developed utilizing a high vacuum high-pressure die casting(HV-HPDC)technology along with industrial-grade raw *** tensile properties of these BMGCs are systematically investigated and correlated with the alloy *** compared with the copper mold suction casting method,the volume fraction difference of the dendrite phase for the BMGCs with the same composition is not significant when fabricated by the HV-HPDC,whereas the size of theβ-phase is generally *** BMGCs with the composition of Ti_(48)Zr_(20)(V_(12/17)Cu_(5/17))19 Be 13 obtained by the HV-HPDC process show ductility up to 11.3%under tension at room temperature and exhibit a certain amount of work *** conditions need to be met to enable the BMGCs,which are prepared by vacuum die-casting to retain favorable ductility:(1)The volume fraction ofβphase stays below 62%±2%;(2)The equiaxed crystals with a more uniform size in the range of 5-10μ***,the results of the present study provided guidance for developing BMGCs with good ductile properties under industrial conditions.

Hierarchical Mixture Models for Zero-inflated Correlated Count Data

Count data with excess zeros are often encountered in many medical, biomedical and public health applications. In this paper, an extension of zero-inflated Poisson mixed regression models is presented for dealing with multilevel data set, referred as hierarchical mixture zero-inflated Poisson mixed regression models. A stochastic EM algorithm is developed for obtaining the ML estimates of interested parameters and a model comparison is also considered for comparing models with different latent classes through BIC criterion. An application to the analysis of count data from a Shanghai Adolescence Fitness Survey and a simulation study illustrate the usefulness and effectiveness of our methodologies.

Local Influence Analysis for Semiparametric Reproductive Dispersion Nonlinear Models

The present paper proposes a semiparametric reproductive dispersion nonlinear model （SRDNM） which is an extension of the nonlinear reproductive dispersion models and the semiparameter regression models. Maximum penalized likelihood estimates （MPLEs） of unknown parameters and nonparametric functions in SRDNM are presented. Assessment of local influence for various perturbation schemes are investigated. Some local influence diagnostics are given. A simulation study and a real example are used to illustrate the proposed methodologies.

This paper proposes some regularity conditions, which result in the existence, strong consistency and asymptotic normality of maximum quasi-likelihood estimator （MQLE） in quasi-likelihood nonlinear models （QLNM） with random regressors. The asymptotic results of generalized linear models （GLM） with random regressors are generalized to QLNM with random regressors.

Improvement of maximum power point tracking in photovoltaic arrays in different environments using hybrid algorithms

When the photovoltaic(PV)system is generating PV power,the partial shading(PS)condition will cause multiple peaks in the power-voltage curve,and changes in light intensity and ambient temperature will cause the curve to *** maximum power point tracking(MPPT)methods,such as the incremental conductance(INC)method,have the problem of being trapped in the local optimal *** optimization algorithms,such as particle swarm optimization(PSO),have problems with oscillation and low tracking efficiency near the global maximum power point(GMPP).As a result,a hybrid algorithm CS-INC based on the cuckoo search(CS)algorithm and the perturb and observe(P&O)approach is proposed in this *** light intensity remains constant,the light intensity changes in steps,and the partial shade scenario are *** results show that the MPPT improves accuracy,speed,and stability.

NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF HYDRODYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS ON AN ARC CROWN WALL USING VOLUME OF FLUID METHOD BASED ON BFC

In the present study, a new algorithm based on the Volume Of Fluid （VOF） method is developed to simulate the hydrodynamic characteristics on an arc crown wall. Structured grids are generated by the coordinate transform method in an arbitrary complex region. The Navier-Stokes equations for two-dimensional incompressible viscous flows are discretized in the Body Fitted Coordinate （BFC） system. The transformed SIMPLE algorithm is proposed to modify the pressure-velocity field and a transformed VOF method is used to trace the free surface. Hydrodynamic characteristics on an arc crown wall are obtained by the improved numerical model based on the BFC system （BFC model）. The velocity field, the pressure field and the time profiles of the water surface near the arc crown wall obtained by using the BFC model and the Cartesian model are compared. The BFC model is verified by experimental results.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the impact of Yemazhui(Herba Eupatorii Lindleyani,HEL)against lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced acute lung injury(ALI)and explore its underlying mechanism in ***:The chemical constituents of HEL were analyzed by ultra-high performance liquid chromatographyquadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry ***,HEL was found to suppress LPS-induced ALI in ***-week-old male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into 6 groups:control,LPS,Dexamethasone(Dex),HEL low dose 6 g/kg(HEL-L),HEL medium dose 18 g/kg(HEL-M)and HEL high dose 54 g/kg(HEL-H)*** model rats were intratracheally injected with 3 mg/kg LPS to establish an ALI *** counts,lung wet/dry weight ratio,as well as myeloperoxidase(MPO)activity were determined followed by the detection with hematoxylin and eosin staining,enzyme linked immunosorbent assay,quantitative real time polymerase chain reaction,western blotting,immunohistochemistry,and ***,to explore the effect of HEL on ALI-mediated intestinal flora,we performed 16s rRNA sequencing analysis of intestinal ***:HEL attenuated LPS-induced inflammation in lung tissue and intestinal flora *** study indicated that HEL suppressed the lung coefficient and wet/dry weight ratio of LPS-induced ALI in rats,inhibited leukocytes exudation and MPO activity,and improved the pathological injury of lung *** addition,HEL reduced the expression of tumor necrosis factoralpha,interleukin-1beta(IL-1β)and interleukin-6(IL-6)in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid and serum,and inhibited nuclear displacement of nuclear factor kappa-B p65(NF-κBp65).And 18 g/kg HEL also reduced the expression levels of toll-like receptor 4(TLR4),myeloid differentiation factor 88,NF-κBp65,phosphorylated inhibitor kappa B alpha(phospho-IκBα),nod-like receptor family pyrin domain-containing 3 protein(NLRP3),IL-1β,and interleukin-18(IL-18)in lung tissue,and regulated intestinal flora disturban
