Boosting hydrocarbon conversion via Cu-doping induced oxygen vacancies on CeO2 in CO2 electroreduction

Conversion of CO2back to hydrocarbons is the most direct way of closing the“carbon cycle”,and its significance is further enlarged if this process is driven by renewable energies such as ***,precisely controlling the product selectivity towards hydrocarbons against the competitive hydrogen evolution remains challenging,especially for Cu-based ***,we report a novel defect engineering strategy,by which Cu-doping-induced oxygen vacancies on CeO2nanorods were effectively created,with adjustable vacancy/Cu *** resulting optimum catalyst shows up to 79% catalytic current density to hydrocarbons （excluding CO）,with 49% faradaic efficiency to *** and density functional theory unveil that the ratio between oxygen vacancy and Cu affects significantly the formation of*CHO and activation of H2O,which leads to the following deep hydrogenation to *** findings may spur new insights for designing and developing more controllable chemical process relevant to CO2utilization.

Stress-dependent permeability models are developed for the organic pores and inorganic cleats/fractures in unconventional gas reservoirs,which are modeled as Biot’s porous media of *** considering multiple flow mechanisms such as dynamic effects of gas flow and surface diffusion,apparent permeability models are obtained to investigate the characteristics of unconventional gas *** to the gas transfer in single-porosity reservoirs,the gas migration ability of cleats in dual-porosity stratums rarely changes while that of organic pores is greatly improved because cleats sustain major geomechanical shrinkage deformation when the pore pressure ***,the mass flux of reservoirs is dominated by the mass flux of cleats,which has a lower peak value,but a much longer production term than those in single-porosity reservoirs due to the interaction between organic pores and *** analysis is conducted to identify key factors significantly impacting mass flux in unconventional *** for the mass flux variation are also explored in terms of gas migration ability and pore pressure distribution.

Allele specific expression is essential for cellular programming and development and the diversity of cellular phenotypes. Traditional analysis methods utilize RNA and depend on single nucleotide polymorphisms,thus to suffer from limited amount of materials for analysis. The rapid development of next-generation sequencing technologies provides more comprehensive and powerful approaches to analyze the genomic, epigenetic, and transcriptomic data, and further to detect and measure allele specific expressions. It will potentially enhance the understanding of the allele specific expressions, their complexities, and the effect on biological processes. In this paper, we extensively review the state-of-art enabling technologies and tools to analyze, detect, and measure allele specific expressions, compare their features, and point out the future trend of the methods.

ZnO tetrapods were synthesized by a typical thermal vapor-solid deposition method in a horizontal tube *** characterization was carried out by transmission electron microscopy （TEM） and select-area electron diffraction （SAED）,which shows the presence of zinc blende nucleus in the center of tetrapods while the four branches taking hexagonal wurtzite *** electrical transport property of ZnO tetrapods was investigated through an in-situ nanoprobe *** three branches of a tetrapod serve as source,drain,and ＂gate＂,respectively;while the fourth branch pointing upward works as the force trigger by vertically applying external force *** conductivity of each branch of ZnO-tetrapods increases 3-4 times under *** such situation,the electrical current through the branches of ZnO tetrapods can be tuned by external force,and therefore a simple force sensor based on ZnO tetrapods has been demonstrated for the first time.

Improved channel estimation based on adaptive SVM for NC-OFDM systems

Non-contiguous OFDM (NC-OFDM) system is popular as its characteristics of avoiding interference by spectrum sensing. The traditional channel estimation methods can not be applied to the NC-OFDM systems directly as its special scheme. The improved time-domain channel estimation method based on adaptive support vector machine (SVM) and signal to noise ratio (SNR) estimation is proposed for NC-OFDM systems in this paper. It adopts the spectrum sensing based on adaptive SVM at the receiver. The simulation results show that the mean square error (MSE) and bit error rate (BER) performance outperform than the conventional schemes under the same condition.

The diffusion dynamics of small two-dimensional atomic clusters Cux （1≤x≤8） on Cu（lll） surface were studied using the molecular dynamics simulations and a modified analytic embedded-atom method in the temperature range from 200 K to 800 K. The cluster size and temperature dependence of the diffusion coefficients and migration energies are presented. Our simulations show that the diffusion migration energy of the CuT cluster is the highest and the prefactor for the CuT cluster is almost three orders of magnitude larger than that for single atom diffusion. This conclusion is consistent with the experimental results for similar metals. In addition, the dependence of cluster diffusion on film growth is also discussed.

ZnO is a multifunctional material with UV-blocking,antimicrobial,photo-catalytic activity and selfcleaning *** application of ZnO has become an interesting subject both in science and industries in the polymer materials.A great number of investigation indicated that introduction of ZnO can improve ultraviolet resistance and endow antimicrobial properties of polypropylene(PP) materials to broaden the application range and prolong the usage life of polypropylene *** mini-review contains examples of recent research advances on ultraviolet resistance and antimicrobial properties of ZnO in the filled polypropylene *** is found that ultraviolet resistance and antimicrobial properties of ZnO supported on the surface of other inorganic particles are higher than those of nanoand micro-ZnO particles,which may inspire further developments of filled PP and its copolymer materials with high ultraviolet resistance and antimicrobial properties.
