Assessment of climate damage in China based on integrated assessment framework

Developing a localized and consistent model framework for climate loss and damage assessment is crucial for the policy-making of climate change mitigation and *** study introduces a comprehensive,multidisciplinary Integrated Assessment Model(IAM)framework for evaluating climate damage in China,utilizing BCC-SESM climate model and FUND sectoral climate damage model under the SSP2-RCPs *** a bottom-up approach,the research estimates climate damage across eight major sectors,recalibrates sectoral climate damage functions and parameters for China,and elucidates distinctions among direct climate loss,market climate loss,and aggregate climate *** findings reveal that the total climate damage function for China follows a quadratic pattern in response to temperature *** 2050,the estimated climate damage is projected to be 5.4%,5.7%,and 8.2%of GDP under RCP2.6,RCP4.5,and RCP8.5,***,both direct and market climate losses are projected to remain below 2%of GDP by 2050,while the aggregate climate loss could reach as high as 8.2%,which is predominantly attributed to non-market *** a sectoral perspective,under the RCP8.5 scenario,human health damage constitutes the largest share(61.9%)of the total climate loss by 2050,followed by sea-level rise damage(18.6%).This study sheds lights on the adaptation policy that should attach importance to the non-market sectors,particularly focusing on human health and sea-level rise.

Spatial and temporal variations of gross primary production simulated by land surface model BCC_AVIM2.0

Gross primary production(GPP)is the largest flux and a crucial player in the terrestrial carbon cycle and has been studied extensively,yet large uncertainties remain in the spatiotemporal patterns of GPP in both observations and *** study evaluates the performance of the second version of the Beijing Climate Center Atmosphere−Vegetation Interaction Model(BCC_AVIM2.0)in simulating GPP on multiple spatial and temporal scales in the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6(CMIP6)*** simulations driven by two meteorological datasets were compared with two observation-based GPP products covering 1982–*** patterns of annual GPP show a significant latitudinal gradient in each dataset,increasing from cold(tundra)and dry(desert)biomes to warm(temperate)and humid(tropical rainforest)***_AVIM2.0 overestimates GPP in most parts of the globe,especially in boreal forest regions and Southeast China,while underestimating GPP in subhumid regions in eastern South America and tropical *** four datasets broadly agree on the GPP seasonal cycle,but BCC_AVIM2.0 predicts an earlier beginning of spring growth and a larger amplitude of seasonal variations than those in the *** observation-based datasets exhibit slight interannual variability(IAV)and weak GPP linear trends,while the BCC_AVIM2.0 simulations demonstrate relatively large year-to-year variability and significant trends in the low-latitudes and temperate monsoon regions in North America and East *** the possible relationships between annual means of GPP and climate factors,BCC_AVIM2.0 predicts more extensive regions of the globe where the IAV of annual GPP is dominated by precipitation,especially in mid-to-high latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere and tropical Africa,while the observed GPP in the above regions is temperature-or *** positive GPP biases due to earlier spring growth in boreal forest regions and negative GPP biases in off

Revisiting BCC-SESM parameters sensitivity with BCC-CSM1.1 co_(2)-concentration-driven simulations

Based on the results of the complex climate model BCC-CSM,the Beijing Climate Center Simple Earth System Model(BCC-SESM)was developed for climate system simulations in Integrated Assessment Models(IAMs).The first version of the BCC-SESM model was based on a high-emissions scenario(ESMRCP8.5)and tends to overestimate the temperatures in low and medium emissions *** address this problem,this study uses three CO_(2)-concentration-driven simulations under different RCP scenarios of complex climate models to evaluate parameters sensitivity and their impacts on projection *** results show that the new version of the BCC-SESM(denoted as BCC-SESM1.1)model based on a medium-emissions scenario experiment(RCP4.5)is more suitable for temperature projections for various climate *** can well reproduce the original value of complex climate *** the same time,it also has high predictive efficacies for medium(RCP4.5)and low(RCP2.6)emissions scenarios,although it tends to underestimate for high emissions scenario(RCP8.5).The sensitivity tests for different RCP scenarios shows that the BCC-SESM1.1 has higher efficacy in projections of future climate change than those model versions based on the other *** projection deviations for the global average temperature by the BCC-SESM1.1(light of recent progress in climate policy,the BCC-SESM1.1 is hence more suitable for coupling with IAMs for the purposes of assessing climate outcomes.

Analysis of Tidal Current Energy Potential in the Major Channels of the Bohai Strait Based on Delft3D

The utilization and development of tidal current energy can help alleviate the current energy shortage, improve the global ecological environment, and maintain sustainable development. In this study, numerical simulation is carried out on a rectangular grid using Delft3D. The tidal current energy potential of the major channels in the Bohai Strait is further simulated and estimated by comparing the simulated and measured data. Results show that the flow module in Delft3D has good modeling ability for the assessment of tidal current energy potential. The average flow velocity, maximum flow velocity, and energy flow density are consistent. The Laotieshan Channel, located in the northern part of the Bohai Strait, shows a large tidal current energy potential. The maximum flow velocity of this channel can reach 2 m s-1, and the maximum energy flow density can exceed 500 W m-2. The tidal current energy in the Laotieshan Channel is more than 10 times that in other channels. Therefore, this study advocates for the continued exploration and exploitation of the tidal current energy resources in the Laotieshan Channel.

Analysis of the influencing factors and clinical related characteristics of pulmonary tuberculosis in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus

BACKGROUND In China,the prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)among diabetic patients is estimated to be between 90%-95%.Additionally,China is among the 22 countries burdened by a high number of tuberculosis cases,with approximately 4.5 million individuals affected by active ***,T2DM poses a significant risk factor for the development of tuberculosis,as evidenced by the increased incidence of T2DM coexisting with pulmonary tuberculosis(T2DMPTB),which has risen from 19.3%to 24.1%.It is evident that these two diseases are intricately interconnected and mutually reinforcing in *** To elucidate the clinical features of individuals diagnosed with both T2DM and tuberculosis(T2DM-PTB),as well as to investigate the potential risk factors associated with active tuberculosis in patients with *** T2DM-PTB patients who visited our hospital between January 2020 and January 2023 were selected as the observation group,Simple DM patients presenting to our hospital in the same period were the control group,Controls and case groups were matched 1:2 according to the principle of the same sex,age difference(±3)years and disease duration difference(±5)years,patients were investigated for general demographic characteristics,diabetes-related characteristics,body immune status,lifestyle and behavioral habits,univariate and multivariate analysis of the data using conditional logistic regression,calculate the odds ratio(OR)values and 95%CI of OR *** A total of 315 study subjects were included in this study,including 105 subjects in the observation group and 210 subjects in the control *** of the results of both anthropometric and biochemical measures showed that the constitution index,systolic blood pressure,diastolic blood pressure and lymphocyte count were significantly lower in the case group,while fasting blood glucose and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels were significantly higher than those in the control ***

Cross-linked Electrospun Gel Polymer Electrolytes for lithium-Ion Batteries

lithium-ion batteries (liBs) benefit from an effective electrolyte system design in both terms of their safety and energy storage capability. Herein, a series of precursor membranes with high porosity were produced using electrospinning technology by mixing PVDF and triblock copolymer (PS-PEO-PS), resulting in a porous structure with good interconnections, which facilitates the absorbency of a large amount of electrolyte and further increases the ionic conductivity of gel polymer electrolytes (GPEs). It has been demonstrated that post-cross-linking of the precursor membranes increases the rigidity of the nanofibers, which allows the polymer film to be dimensionally stable up to 260 degrees C while maintaining superior electrochemical properties. The obtained cross-linked GPEs (CGPEs) showed high ionic conductivity up to 4.53x10-3 Scm-1. With the CGPE-25, the assembled li/liFePO4 half cells exhibited good rate capability and maintained a capacity of 99.4% and a coulombic efficiency of 99.3% at 0.1 C. These results suggest that the combination of electrospinning technique and post-cross-linking is an effective method to construct polymer electrolytes with high thermal stability and steadily decent electrochemical performance, particularly useful for lithium-ion battery applications that require high-temperature usage.

The BEL1-like transcription factor GhBLH5-A05 participates in cotton response to drought stress
