New perspectives on the therapeutic potential of quercetin in non-communicable diseases:Targeting Nrf2 to counteract oxidative stress and inflammation

Non-communicable diseases(NCDs),including cardiovascular diseases,cancer,metabolic diseases,and skeletal diseases,pose significant challenges to public health *** complex pathogenesis of these diseases is closely linked to oxidative stress and inflammatory *** factor erythroid 2-related factor 2(Nrf2),a critical transcription factor,plays an important role in regulating antioxidant and anti-inflammatory responses to protect the cells from oxidative damage and inflammation-mediated ***,Nrf2-targeting therapies hold promise for preventing and treating ***(Que)is a widely available flavonoid that has significant antioxidant and anti-inflammatory *** modulates the Nrf2 signaling pathway to ameliorate oxidative stress and *** modulates mitochondrial function,apoptosis,autophagy,and cell damage biomarkers to regulate oxidative stress and inflammation,highlighting its efficacy as a therapeutic agent against ***,we discussed,for the first time,the close association between NCD pathogenesis and the Nrf2 signaling pathway,involved in neurodegenerative diseases(NDDs),cardiovascular disease,cancers,organ damage,and bone ***,we reviewed the availability,pharmacokinetics,pharmaceutics,and therapeutic applications of Que in treating *** addition,we focused on the challenges and prospects for its clinical *** represents a promising candidate for the treatment of NCDs due to its Nrf2-targeting properties.

A phylogenetic approach identifies patterns of beta diversity and floristic subregions of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau

Patterns of taxonomic and phylogenetic beta diversity and their relationships with environmental correlates can help reveal the origin and evolutionary history of regional *** Qinghai-Tibet Plateau(QTP)harbors an exceptionally diverse flora,however,a phylogenetic perspective has rarely been used to investigate its beta diversity and floristic *** this study,we used a phylogenetic approach to identify patterns of beta diversity and quantitatively delimit floristic regions on the Qinghai-Tibet *** also examined the relationships between multifaceted beta diversity,geographical distance,and climatic difference,and evaluated the relative importance of various factors(i.e.,climate,topography and history)in shaping patterns of beta diversity.Sørensen dissimilarity indices indicated that patterns of species turnover among sites dominated the *** also found that patterns of both taxonomic and phylogenetic beta diversity were significantly related to geographical distance and climatic *** environmental factors that contributed most to these patterns of beta diversity include annual precipitation,mean annual temperature,climatic gradients and climatic *** dendrograms of dissimilarity and non-metric multidimensional scaling ordination based on phylogenetic beta diversity data identified ten floristic subregions in the *** results suggest that the contemporary environment and historical climate changes have filtered species composition among sites and eventually determined beta diversity patterns of plants in the QTP.

Tungsten disulfide(WS_(2))has been reported to show negligible stacking dependence under ambient conditions,impeding its further explorations on physical properties and potential ***,we realize efficient modulation of interlayer coupling in bilayer WS_(2)with 3R and 2H stackings by high pressure,and find that the pressure-triggered interlayer coupling and pressure-induced resonant-to-nonresonant transition exhibit prominent stacking dependence,which are experimentally observed for the first time in *** work may unleash the stacking degree of freedom in designing WS_(2)devices with tailored properties correlated to interlayer coupling.

Promoted catalytic property of Cu/SSZ-13 by introducing a minority of Mn for NO removal from diesel engine exhaust

The Cu-exchanged SSZ-13 with the small-pore chabazite framework is considered as a highly efficient catalyst for selective catalytic reduction of NO with NH_(3)(NH_(3)-SCR).In order to further improve the catalytic property,a series of Mn ion-assisted Cu/SSZ-13 powder catalysts were prepared by co-exchange method and stepwise exchange *** is found that the NH_(3)-SCR activity,N_(2) selectivity,hydrothermal stability and sulfur resistance of Cu/SSZ-13 are promoted by introducing a minority of Mn(0.15%to 0.23%(mass))through co-exchange *** results reveal that the Cu,Mn co-exchange enables the higher amounts of Cu^(2+)active sites,the abundant medium strong and strong acid,the optimized ratio of Lewis acid to Brønsted acid etc.,which are required for a good NH_(3)-SCR catalytic property over broad temperature range and under harsh working ***,a monolithic catalyst was prepared by impregnating a cordierite ceramic support into the coating slurry containing the optimized CuMn/SSZ-13 *** diesel engine bench tests show that Cu,Mn co-exchange gives the monolith catalyst a better catalytic property than commercial *** work provides an important guidance for the rational design of secondary-ion-assisted zeolites applied in NH_(3)-SCR.

Development and validation of a nomogram model for predicting the risk of pre-hospital delay in patients with acute myocardial infarction

BACKGROUND Acute myocardial infarction(AMI)is a severe cardiovascular disease caused by the blockage of coronary arteries that leads to ischemic necrosis of the *** medical contact is critical for successful AMI treatment,and delays increase the risk of death for ***-hospital delay time(PDT)is a significant challenge for reducing treatment times,as identifying high-risk patients with AMI remains *** study aims to construct a risk prediction model to identify high-risk patients and develop targeted strategies for effective and prompt care,ultimately reducing PDT and improving treatment *** To construct a nomogram model for forecasting pre-hospital delay(PHD)likelihood in patients with AMI and to assess the precision of the nomogram model in predicting PHD *** A retrospective cohort design was employed to investigate predictive factors for PHD in patients with AMI diagnosed between January 2022 and September *** study included 252 patients,with 180 randomly assigned to the development group and the remaining 72 to the validation group in a 7:3 *** risk factors influencing PHD were identified in the development group,leading to the establishment of a nomogram model for predicting PHD in patients with *** model's predictive performance was evaluated using the receiver operating characteristic curve in both the development and validation *** Independent risk factors for PHD in patients with AMI included living alone,hyperlipidemia,age,diabetes mellitus,and digestive system diseases(P<0.05).A characteristic curve analysis indicated area under the receiver operating characteristic curve values of 0.787(95%confidence interval:0.716–0.858)and 0.770(95%confidence interval:0.660-0.879)in the development and validation groups,respectively,demonstrating the model's good discriminatory *** Hosmer–Lemeshow goodness-of-fit test revealed no statistically significant disparity between the an

Electrochemical CO_(2)reduction to C_(2+)products over Cu/Zn intermetallic catalysts synthesized by electrodeposition

Electrocatalytic CO_(2)reduction(ECR)offers an attractive approach to realizing carbon neutrality and producing valuable chemicals and fuels using CO_(2)as the ***,the lack of cost-effective electrocatalysts with better performances has seriously hindered its ***,a one-step co-electrodeposition method was used to introduce Zn,a metal with weak^(*)CO binding energy,into Cu to form Cu/Zn intermetallic catalysts(Cu/Zn IMCs).It was shown that,using an H-cell,the high Faradaic efficiency of C_(2+)hydrocarbons/alcohols()could be achieved in ECR by adjusting the surface metal components and the applied *** suitable conditions,FEC_(2+)and current density could be as high as 75%and 40 mA/cm^(2),*** with the Cu catalyst,the Cu/Zn IMCs have a lower interfacial charge transfer resistance and a larger electrochemically active surface area(ECSA),which accelerate the ***,the^(*)CO formed on Zn sites can move to Cu sites due to its weak binding with*CO,and thus enhance the C–C coupling on the Cu surface to form C_(2+)products.

Identification and functional verification of Y-chromosome-specific gene typo-gyf in Bactrocera dorsalis

Genes on the Y chromosome play important roles in male sex determination and *** identification of Y-chromosome-specific genes not only provides a theoretical basis for the study of male reproductive development,but also offers genetic control targets for agricultural ***,Y-chromosome genes are rarely characterized due to their high repeatability and high heterochromatinization,especially in the oriental fruit *** this study,1011 Y-chromosome-specific candidate sequences were screened from 2 to 4 h Bactrocera dorsalis embryo datasets with the chromosome quotient method,6 of which were identified as Y-chromosome-specific sequences by polymerase chain reaction,including typo-gyf,a 19126-bp DNA sequence containing a 575-amino acid open reading *** deformation and a significant reduction in sperm number were observed after typo-gyf knockdown with RNA interference in *** typo-gyf knockout with clustered regularly interspaced palindromic repeats(CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated protein 9 in the embryonic stage,the sex ratio of the emergent adults was unbalanced,with far more females than males.A genotype analysis of these females with the Y-chromosome gene MoY revealed no sex ***-gyf knockout led to the death of XY individuals in the embryonic *** conclude that typo-gyf is an essential gene for male survival,and is also involved in testicular development and *** identification of typo-gyf and its functional verification provide insight into the roles of Y-chromosome genes in male development.
