A microfluidic system was developed for the synthesis of trigonal selenium（t-Se） nanowires, which was composed of a glass microchip coupled with a poly（methyl methacrylate）（PMMA） microchip. In the glass microchip, amorphous selenium（a-Se） colloid was prepared by reducing selenious acid with an excess amount of hydrazine at a temperature of 100 ℃. In the coupled PMMA microchip, a-Se was transformed into more stable t-Se seeds via sonication at room temperature. The residence time of the reactants in both microchips was optimized by varying the dimension and length of the microchannel each. The t-Se nanowires were formed by anisotropic growth of selenium crystallite during sonication and aging under the assistance of β-cyclodextrin（β-CD）. Various stages of the nanowires＇ growth were investigated. The as-synthesized products were characterized by powder X-Ray diffraction（XRD）, Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy（SEM）, transmission electron microscopy（TEM） and selected-area electron diffraction（SAED）.

The membrane separator is a key component in a liquid-electrolyte battery for electrically separating the cathode and the anode, meanwhile ensuring ionic transport between them. Besides these basic requirements, endowing the separator with specific beneficial functions is now being paid great attention because it provides an important alternative approach for the development of batteries, particularly next-generation high-energy rechargeable batteries. Herein, functional separators are overviewed based on four key criteria of next-generation high-energy rechargeable batteries: stable,safe, smart and sustainable(4 S). That is, the applied membrane materials and the corresponding functioning mechanisms of the 4 S separators are reviewed. Functional separators with selective permeability have been applied to retard unwanted migration of the specific species(e.g. polysulfide anions in Li-S batteries) from one electrode to the other in order to achieve stable cycling operation. The covered battery types are Li-S, room-temperature Na-S, Li-organic, organic redox-flow(RF) and Li-air batteries. Safe, smart and sustainable separators are then described in sequence following the first criterion of stable cycling. In the final section, key challenges and potential opportunities in the development of 4 S separators are discussed.

Qilian Mountains(QM)is an important ecological security barrier in China and has been significantly affected by climate change,it is therefore of great importance and necessity to project its future climate change using high-resolution climate models because of mountainous areas in the QM and relatively few targeted simulation *** this study,we used the simulations of the regional climate model REMO with 25 km spatial resolution,driven by three different global climate models(MPI-ESM-MR,NorESM1-M,and HadGEM2-ES),to evaluate how annual and seasonal mean surface air temperature and precipitation in the QM are likely to change for three future periods(2011-2040,2041-2070,and 2071-2100)under two representative concentration pathways(RCP2.6 and RCP8.5).The REMO model,shows noticeable cold and wet biases compared to observations for the reference period(1971-2000)and air temperature simulation outperforms precipitation *** REMO simulations exhibit a warm and wet centre around lake,indicating that the simulation are likely influenced by *** under RCP2.6 show regional warming reaching 1.74℃ during 2011-2100,characterized by an initial increase and a decrease *** RCP8.5,air temperatures increase monotonously from 2011 to 2100,with a warming magnitude of 5.36℃ for 2071-2100 relative to *** overall change in regional-average annual precipitation is not evident during 2011-2100,with some increases or decreases in certain time *** the 2071-2100 both the strongest warming and precipitation increase are projected to occur in winter under both scenarios,while precipitation in summer and autumn is projected to decrease in the east of the QM for the three future *** results suggest that the QM is likely to experience drought conditions in warm seasons in the future,which could impact agricultural and livestock production.

Localized surface plasmon resonances(LSPRs)in metal nanostructures have been a central subject of nano-photonics due to their ability to manipulate light beyond the optical diffraction ***,the large intrinsic dissipations of LSPRs have severely hindered their applications,so the on-demand control of the LSPR modes is highly desired and remains open ***,we experimentally and theoretically demonstrate that the plasmon mode can be effectively engineered by interacting with constructive or destructive modes supported by film *** a metal nanoparticle interacts with a constructive mode,the dissipation linewidth of its LSPR mode shows a significant reduction of 58%.Simultaneously,the scattering intensity is remarkably enhanced,in vast favor of measuring weak signals from small ***,the film-destructiveinterference splitting in the scattering spectrum by weak coupling,rather than strong coupling,is revealed if the plasmon particles interact with the destructive mode,resulting in two new hybrid plasmon modes with narrow *** effective polarizability model of reshaping the LSPR modes by the film interference is present to well understand the experimental *** work may pave the way toward low-loss plasmonic photonics and its practical applications.

Equal-channel angular pressing(ECAP) is considered to be one of the most effective processing procedures to produce ultrafine-grained(UFG) materials.A new AI-ZnMg-Cu-Zr alloy was subjected to ECAP experiment in Route B_(C)(i.e.,rotated 90° in the same sense between each pass).The effect of ECAP on the microstructural evolution and fracture mechanism of the alloy was analyzed by optical microscope(OM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),tensile test(at room temperature),and scanning electron microscope(SEM).The results show that the main strengthening phase of the alloy is MgZn_(2),whose content increases apparently after ECAP,the dislocation density increases by one order of magnitude,the hardness value of the 1 pass ECAPed sample increases by 53 %,the ultimate tensile strength(UTS)increases by 29 %,and the true strain increases by 15.4 %.But the further increase in the strength with the passes increasing would cost a slight drop in the true *** morphology of the tensile dimples is converted from elongated one to equiaxed one with a uniform distribution of size and depth after pressing.

The temporal and spatial dynamics of one weak probe laser pulse, propagating through a A-type atomic medium with two-folded levels under the resonant excitation of one microwave driving field and one strong control field, is investigated in this paper. By numerically solving coupled Bloch-Maxwell equations, it is found that, in the absence of the microwave driving field, the atomic medium is transparent to the probe pulse at line center, which propagates over sufficiently long distances. By contrast, when the microwave driving field is applied, the probe pulse at line center can be rapidly absorbed on propagation. This substantial reduction of probe transmittance caused by the microwave driving field may lead to potential applications in designing a new kind of optical switching.

Joint optimization scheduling for water conservancy projects incomplex river networks

In this study, we simulated water flow in a water conservancy project consisting of various hydraulic structures, such as sluices, pumping stations, hydropower stations, ship locks, and culverts, and developed a multi-period and multi-variable joint optimization scheduling model for flood control, drainage, and irrigation. In this model, the number of sluice holes, pump units, and hydropower station units to be opened were used as decision variables, and different optimization objectives and constraints were considered. This model was solved with improved genetic algorithms and verified using the huaian Water Conservancy Project as an example. The results show that the use of the joint optimization scheduling led to a 10% increase in the power generation capacity and a 15% reduction in the total energy consumption. The change in the water level was reduced by 0.25 m upstream of the Yundong Sluice, and by 50% downstream of pumping stations No. 1, No. 2, and No. 4. It is clear that the joint optimization scheduling proposed in this study can effectively improve power generation capacity of the project, minimize operating costs and energy consumption, and enable more stable operation of various hydraulic structures. The results may provide references for the management of water conservancy projects in complex river networks.
