A phylogenetic approach identifies patterns of beta diversity and floristic subregions of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau

Patterns of taxonomic and phylogenetic beta diversity and their relationships with environmental correlates can help reveal the origin and evolutionary history of regional biota.The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau(QTP)harbors an exceptionally diverse flora,however,a phylogenetic perspective has rarely been used to investigate its beta diversity and floristic regions.In this study,we used a phylogenetic approach to identify patterns of beta diversity and quantitatively delimit floristic regions on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.We also examined the relationships between multifaceted beta diversity,geographical distance,and climatic difference,and evaluated the relative importance of various factors(i.e.,climate,topography and history)in shaping patterns of beta diversity.Sørensen dissimilarity indices indicated that patterns of species turnover among sites dominated the QTP.We also found that patterns of both taxonomic and phylogenetic beta diversity were significantly related to geographical distance and climatic difference.The environmental factors that contributed most to these patterns of beta diversity include annual precipitation,mean annual temperature,climatic gradients and climatic instability.Hierarchical dendrograms of dissimilarity and non-metric multidimensional scaling ordination based on phylogenetic beta diversity data identified ten floristic subregions in the QTP.Our results suggest that the contemporary environment and historical climate changes have filtered species composition among sites and eventually determined beta diversity patterns of plants in the QTP.

Promotion effect of epoxy group neighboring single-atom Cu site on acetylene hydrochlorination

Carbon materials have been used as the support for catalysts in the field of acetylene hydrochlorination,the influence of inevitable oxygen-containing moieties on the reaction is often ignored and the mechanism of the oxygen-doping structure remains ambiguous.Herein,we explored the effect of the oxygen-containing group(C-O-C)in the support on the activity of single-atom dispersed Cu catalysts.By immersing the Cu single-atom catalyst in an alkaline solution,the epoxy species on the carbon support was cleaved to obtain a pure ether species while the Cu site was modified to a more electron-deficient state.The turnover frequency value of Cu/O-FLP catalyst with epoxy groups was 1.6-fold higher than that of alkaline treated catalyst.Our result indicated that the epoxy groups could assist adjacent single-atom Cu sites to synergistically promote the adsorption and cleavage of the reactant hydrogen chloride toward form C-OH and Cu-Cl bonds,and reduce the reaction energy barrier.The presence of electron deficient Cu sites and ether species could induce competitive adsorption of the acetylene and hydrogen chloride,thereby reducing the activity of the catalyst.This study highlights the influence of surface oxygen species and the tunability of the support,providing the foundation for the fabrication of higher-activity Cu catalysts for acetylene hydrochlorination.

An Effective Platform for SARS-CoV-2 Prevention by Combining Neutralization and RNAi Technology

At present,the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic is a global health crisis.Scientists all over the globe are urgently looking forward to an effective solution to prevent the spread of the epidemic and avoid more casualties at an early date.In this study,we establish an effective platform for the prevention of SARS-CoV-2 by combining the neutralization strategy and RNAi technology.To protect normal cells from infection,the customized cells are constructed to stably express viral antigenic receptor ACE2 on the cell membrane.These modified cells are used as bait for inducing the viral entry.The transcription and replication activities of viral genome are intercepted subsequently by the intracellular sh RNAs,which are complementary to the viral gene fragments.A pseudotyped virus reconstructed from the HIV lentivirus is utilized as a virus model,by which we validate the feasibility and effectiveness of our strategy in vitro.Our work establishes an initial model and lays the foundation for future prevention and treatment of various RNA viruses.

Efficacy and safety of ultrasound cycloplasty for the treatment of glaucoma: a Meta-analysis

AIM:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of ultrasound cycloplasty(UCP)for glaucoma.METHODS:A comprehensive search of PubMed,Embase,Web of Science,and Google Scholar databases was used to select studies met the inclusion criteria.Metaanalysis was performed by Review Manager and StataCorp LLC.RESULTS:A total of 19 articles met the inclusion criteria.Overall,UCP is effective and safe in the glaucoma treatment,the risk ratio(RR)of the success rate was 2.28(95%CI,1.82-2.84).After UCP,patients had a significant reduction in intraocular pressure(IOP;mm Hg),the weighted mean difference(WMD)was 11.39(95%CI,9.88-12.90).In addition,UCP brings fewer postoperative complications with RR of 0.30(95%CI,0.19-0.49).Most of the complications were short-term and mild.Postoperatively,patients’use of IOP-lowering medications reduced,the standardized mean difference(SMD)was 0.78(95%CI,0.40-1.17).However,best corrected visual acuity(BCVA;logMAR)did not have obvious improvement after UCP,the WMD was 0.01(95%CI,-0.06-0.09).This procedure does provide painfulness relief,with RR of 3.06(95%CI,1.95-4.81).CONCLUSION:UCP is effective and safe for suitable glaucoma.It can effectively decrease IOP in glaucoma patients,reduce the patients’dependence on IOP-lowering medications after surgery,relief the painfulness and has fewer long-term or severe postoperative complications,but the BCVA did not improve much.

Application of SnO_(x)/AC catalyst for the acetylene hydrochlorination

In this work,SnO_(x)/activated carbon(AC)was synthesized by hydrothermal method,which was applied to acetylene hydrochlorination.Characterizations showed the SnO_(x)nanoparticles were uniformly dispersed on the carbon,with the coexistence of SnO and SnO_(2).The acetylene conversion of SnO_(x)/AC was 75%,much higher than that of SnCl_(4)/AC.It was shown that the adsorption of reactants on SnO_(x)was stronger than on SnCl_(4).Theoretical calculations showed the adsorption energies of reactants on SnO_(x)were thermodynamically favorable and suggested that Sn^(4+)and Sn^(2+)in SnO_(x)have different adsorption capacities for reactants.Through adjusting the valence ratio of SnO_(x),SnO_(x)/AC O 4 h(O for oxidation)exhibited the best catalytic performance and had the strongest adsorption capacity for the reactants.However,the SnO_(x)/AC catalyst was easily deactivated during acetylene hydrochlorination due to the loss of Sn.The doping of N effectively reduced the loss of Sn and improved the stability of the catalyst due to the anchoring effect of N on the SnO_(x)particles.

Effects of Nb Addition on Charpy Impact Properties of TiVTa Refractory High‑Entropy Alloy

In the present study,the effects of Nb addition on Charpy impact properties of TiVTa refractory high-entropy alloy with high strength-ductility trade-off were systematically studied by using the instrumented Charpy impact testing machine.The experimental results showed that the impact toughness was remarkably improved by Nb addition in TiVTa to form TiVTaNb alloy.The crack initiation energy and propagation energy of TiVTaNb were 67.3%and 24.9%higher than that of TiVTa,indicating that Nb addition simultaneously reinforced the resistance to crack initiation and propagation.The impact fracture of TiVTaNb exhibited larger bending degree of shear lips,deeper dimples and more secondary cracks which effectively dissipated more impact energy.The deformation mechanism of TiVTa alloy was dominated by dislocation activities.While in TiVTaNb,the deformation mechanism was synergized by dislocation activities and deformation twinning,which were the main contributors for the improved impact properties and the stronger crack resistance of TiVTaNb alloy under impact loading.

The low intrinsic activity of Fe/N/C oxygen catalysts restricts their commercial application in the fuel cells technique;herein,we demonstrated the interface engineering of plasmonic induced Fe/N/C-F catalyst with primarily enhanced oxygen reduction performance for fuel cells applications.The strong interaction between F and Fe-N4 active sites modifies the catalyst interfacial properties as revealed by X-ray absorption structure spectrum and density functional theory calculations,which changes the electronic structure of Fe-N active site resulting from more atoms around the active site participating in the reaction as well as super-hydrophobicity from C–F covalent bond.The hybrid contribution from active sites and carbon support is proposed to optimize the three-phase microenvironment efficiently in the catalysis electrode,thereby facilitating efficient oxygen reduction performance.High catalytic performance for oxygen reduction and fuel cells practical application catalyzed by Fe/N/C-F catalyst is thus verified,which offers a novel catalyst system for fuel cells technique.

A study on the psychological needs of nurses caring for patients with coronavirus disease 2019 from the perspective of the existence,relatedness, and growth theory

Objective:This study aimed to explore the psychological needs of nurses caring for patients with coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)and to propose corresponding interventions.Methods:In-depth interviews were conducted with 10 nurses who cared for patients with COVID-19.Interview data were analyzed by category analysis from the perspective of the existence,relatedness,and growth theory(ERG).Results:The existence needs were mainly reflected in health and security needs,whereas the relatedness needs consisting mainly of interpersonal needs,humanistic concern needs,and family needs;further,the growth needs were mainly reflected as a strong need for knowledge.Existence needs were the main needs during the epidemic,with health and security needs influencing each other.Humanistic concern needs were the most important of the relatedness needs;interpersonal and family needs were also growing.Conclusion:It is found that the existence,relatedness,and growth needs coexist in clinical nurses.It is helpful to take effective interventions to meet their needs if the needs of nurses caring for COVID-19 patients could be perceived well.

目的探讨1例HNRNPU基因变异导致神经发育障碍(NDDs)患儿的临床表现及基因变异特征,并检索文献进行回顾性分析。方法回顾性分析2020年12月至武汉科技大学附属孝感医院就诊的1例因"间断抽搐1年余"NDDs患儿的临床资料,收集患儿及其父母的外周血样,进行全外显子组测序并进行Sanger测序验证。以"HNRNPU基因""癫痫""癫痫性脑病""遗传性癫痫""神经发育障碍""神经发育综合征"与"epilepsy""epileptic encephalopathy""hereditary epilepsy""neurodevelopmental disorders""neurodevelopmental syndrome""HNRNPU""NDDs"为中英文关键词,检索时间设定为1994年1月1日至2022年2月10日,检索中国知网、万方数据库及PubMed数据库中相关文献并作总结复习。结果患儿为2岁男性,5月龄起病,临床表型主要为外貌异常、反复癫痫发作、Gesell量表评估各能区发育商偏低。给予患儿丙戊酸钠抗癫痫发作治疗及康复训练,随访半年内无癫痫发作,但智能及运动发育无明显改善。基因检测患儿HNRNPU基因存在c.1720_1722delCTT(p.Lys574del)杂合变异,父母未见该变异。根据美国医学遗传学与基因组学学会变异相关指南,c.1720_1722delCTT评级为可能致病性变异(PS2+PM2_Supporting+PM4)。文献检索到13篇文献,HNRNPU基因变异类型有剪接点变异、无义变异、错义变异、框内缺失、基因重复、移码变异、多个外显子缺失。主要临床表现有发育迟缓、癫痫、智力低下、语言发育落后、颅面畸形、精神行为异常等。结论HNRNPU:c.1720_1722delCTT考虑为该NDDs患儿的致病原因。基因检测有助于儿童NDDs的诊断,变异发现丰富了HNRNPU基因变异致神经发育障碍基因变异谱。
