Impact–sliding fretting tribocorrosion behavior of 316L stainless steel in solution with different halide concentrations

Impact–sliding caused by random vibrations between tubes and supports can affect the operation of heat *** addition,a corrosive environment can cause damage,accelerating the synergism of corrosion and ***,the focus of this work was the impact–sliding fretting tribocorrosion behavior of 316L heat exchanger tubes at different halide concentrations.A device system incorporating the in situ electrochemical measurements of impact–sliding fretting corrosion wear was constructed,and experiments on 316L heat exchanger tubes in sodium chloride(NaCl)solution with different concentrations(0.0,0.1,0.5,1.0,3.5,and 5.0 wt%)were carried *** synergism between wear and corrosion was also calculated and *** wear and damage mechanisms were elucidated by correlating the corrosion–wear synergism,morphologies,and material loss *** results indicated that the stable wear stage occurred at approximately 9–12 h,after which the corrosion current increased with the expansion of the wear *** the halide concentration increased,the scale of damage on the wear scars gradually decreased,changing from being dominated by cracks,delaminations,and grooves to being dominated by scratches,microgrooves,and *** was an obvious positive synergism between wear and *** material loss was dominated by pure mechanical wear and wear enhanced by corrosion,but corrosion enhanced by wear contributed more than tangential sliding fretting *** total mass loss increased gradually in the range of 0.0–0.5 wt%and decreased in the range of 0.5–5.0 wt%.Large-scale damage enhanced by corrosivity and small-scale damage reduced by lubricity dominated the material loss at low and high concentrations,respectively.

A finite difference model for solving Navier Stokes viscous liquid sloshing-wave interaction with baffles in a tank. equations with turbulence taken into accotmt is used to investigate The volume-of-fluid and virtual boundary force methods are employed to simulate free surface flow interaction with structures. A liquid sloshing experimental apparatus was established to evaluate the accuracy of the proposed model, as well as to study nonlinear sloshing in a prismatic tank with the baffles. Damping effects of sloshing in a rectangular tank with bottom-mounted vertical baffles and vertical baffles touching the free surface are studied numerically and experimentally. Good agreement is obtained between the present numerical results and experimental data. The numerical results match well with the current experimental data for strong nonlinear sloshing with large free surface slopes. The reduction in sloshing-wave elevation and impact pressure induced by the bottom-mounted vertical baffle and the vertical baffle touching the free surface is estimated by varying the external excitation frequency and the location and height of the vertical baffle under horizontal excitation.

LiAlxMn2-xO4 （0≤x≤0.5） was synthesized by high temperature solid-state reaction. The structure and morphology of LiAlxMn2-xO4 were investigated by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy （SEM）. The results indicate that all samples show spinel phase. The polyhedral particles turn to club-shaped, then change to small spherical, and finally become agglomerates with increasing Al content. The supercapacitive performances of LiAlxMn2-xO4 were studied by means of galvanostatic charge-discharge, cyclic voltammetry, and alternating current （AC） impedance in 2 mol·L^-1 （NH4）2SO4 aqueous solution. The results show that LiAlxMn2-xO4 represents rectangular shape performance in the potential range of 0-1 V. The capacity and cycle performance can be improved by doping Al. The composition of x=0.1 has the maximum special capacitance of 160 F·g^-1, which is 1.37 times that of LiMn2O4 electrode. The capacitance loss of LiAlxMn2-xO4 with x=0.1 is only about 14% after 100 cycles.

Glaucoma is a chronic, progressive optic neuropathy characterized by the loss of peripheral vision first and then central vision. Clinically, normal tension glaucoma is considered a special subtype of glaucoma, in which the patient’s intraocular pressure is within the normal range, but the patient experiences typical glaucomatous changes. However, increasing evidence has challenged the traditional pathophysiological view of normal tension glaucoma, which is based only on intraocular pressure, and breakthroughs in central nervous system imaging may now greatly increase our knowledge about the mechanisms underlying normal tension glaucoma. In this article, we review the latest progress in understanding the pathogenesis of normal tension glaucoma and in developing imaging techniques to detect it, to strengthen the appreciation for the connection between normal tension glaucoma and the brain.

The physical properties of ZrxTi1-x（x=0.0, 0.33, 0.5, 0.67, 0.75 and 1.00） alloys were sinmlated by virtual crystal approximation （VCA） methods which is generally used for disordered solid solutions modeling. The elastic constant, electronic structure and thermal Equation of state （EOS） of disor- dered ZrxTi1-x alloys under pressure are investigated by plane-wave pseudo-potentia1 method. Our simulations reveal increasement of variations of the calculated equilibrium volumes and decrease- ment of Bulk modulus as a function of the alloy compositions. Lattice parameters a and c of alloys with differentZr concentrations decrease linearly with pressure increasing, but the c/avalues are increasing as pressure increases, indicating no phase transitions under pressure from 0 GPa to 100 GPa. The elastic constants and the Bulk modulus to the Shear modulus ratios （B/G） indicate good ductility of Zr, Zr0.33 Ti0.67 Zr0.5Ti0.5, Zr0.75Ti0.25 and Ti, but the Zr0.67Ti0.33 alloy is brittle under 0 K and 0 GPa. The metallic behavior of these alloys was also proved by analyzing partial and total DOS.

BACKGROUND Targeted treatments may greatly affect the natural history of urothelial carcinoma based on their pharmacokinetics. A phase II trial has explored the combination of cytotoxic chemotherapy with the anti-HER-2 monoclonal antibody trastuzumab in selected patients with metastatic bladder cancer, but it *** SUMMARY Here, we report a case of recurrent urothelial bladder carcinoma(UBC) in a patient who has undergone three operations, and further illuminate its diagnosis and treatment. The diagnosis of UBC was rendered according to the pathological indices. Next-generation sequencing on formalin fixed paraffin-embedded(FFPE)tissue was also performed and suggested HER2 gene amplification in the FFPE tissue. Based on HER2 gene amplification in FFPE, the patient was treated with chemotherapy in combination with trastuzumab after his third ***, the patient got a clinically complete remission to trastuzumab for 34 *** There is not enough clinical evidence for incorporating trastuzumab in routine treatment of UBC. This case hinted that recurrent UBC patients with HER2 gene amplification may benefit from targeted trastuzumab. Further studies are needed to further investigate the status of HER2 gene and better determine trastuzumab in the management of UBC.

As a representative type of self-supported templates, cyano-bridged cyanogels provide ideal plateaus for synthesis of three-dimensional(3 D) nanostructures. Herein, 3 D pomegranate-like Fe-doped NiCo nanoassemblies(3 D PG-NiCoFe NAs) were synthesized via facile one-step bi-component cyanogel reduction with NaBH_4 as the reducing agent. Specifically, the influence of the incorporated Fe amount was carefully investigated by finely adjusting the feeding molar ratios of the Ni/Co/Fe atoms in the *** virtue of the unique structure and enriched oxygen vacancies originated from well-modulated electronic structures, the 3 D PG-NiCoFe-211 NAs exhibited outstanding electrocatalytic performances for oxygen evolution reaction(OER) in alkaline solution, outperforming commercial RuO_2 catalyst. The current incorporation of foreign metal atom into host material provides some valuable insights into design and synthesis of metal-based nanocatalysts for constructing practical water splitting devices.

Surface sink is a main geological calamity of gold mining areas and a main factor to restrict economic sustainable development of mining zone. Based on former investigations, this article draws the environment information of surface sink of exploration vacancy in gold mining area of Zhaoyuan City, Shangdong Province by RS technology. Through spatial simulation analysis and expert diagnoses on the basis of GIS technology, the article affirms the inducement factors of the surface sink. Then using these factors as distinguishing ones the authors prognosticate the criticality of other exploration vacancies. The results indicate that the surface sink area of study area in Zhaoyuan City, has already come to 0.78km2 and it is forecasted that 0.97km2 of the exploration vacancy belongs to high danger area. Decisive measures need taking in order to prevent this crucial problem. Another 1.57km2 of the exploration vacancies belongs to middle danger area, which will sink when meeting some inducing factors, such as earthquake. Still another 1.53km2 of the exploration vacancies belongs to low danger area that can not lead to surface sink when meeting common inducing factors.

Our previous study verified the protective effects of Lycium barbarum polysaccharides(LBP)on retinal neurons and blood vessels in acute ocular hypertension(AOH)*** investigate the effect of LBP on the reactivity of retinal glial cells,an AOH mouse model was established in one eye by maintaining ocular hypertension of 90 mm Hg for 60 *** LBP solution(1 mg/kg)or phosphate-buffered saline was administrated to the mice by gavage daily,starting 7 days before the AOH insult and continuing until the mice were sacrificed for specimen collection on day 4 *** AOH insult,increased numbers of astrocytes and microglia were observed,together with decreased expression of the following glial cell biomarkers in the retinal ganglion cells of AOH mice:glial fibrillary acidic protein,glutamine synthetase,aquaporin-4,S-100 proteins,ionized calcium-binding adaptor molecule 1,amyloid precursor protein and receptor of advanced glycosylation *** intervention with LBP,the above changes were significantly ***,morphological remodeling of blood vessel-associated retinal astrocytes,marked by glial fibrillary acidic protein,was also *** results,taken together,suggest that LBP regulated the production of amyloid-βand expression of receptor of advanced glycosylation end-products,as well as mediating the activity of retinal glial cells,which may lead to the promotion of better maintenance of the blood-retinal barrier and improved neuronal survival in AOH *** study was approved by the Committee for the Use of Live Animals in Teaching and Research(approval ***-#1664-08).
