Carbon dots-derived three-dimensional-ordered macroporous host with high penetrability and catalytic activity for LSBs under lean electrolyte

The practical energy density of lithium-sulfur batteries(LSBs)is seriously limited by the high electrolyte-to-sulfur ratios(E/S).The E/S can be reduced by employing hosts with easy-to-infiltrate structure that ensures the uniform distribution of a lean electrolyte and high catalytic activity that can suppress"shuttle effect"via accelerating the slow conversion of soluble poly sulfides to insoluble *** the easy-to-infiltrate structures,the three-dimensional-ordered macroporous(3DOM)structure is easier to scale preparation and more suitable for the existing industrial ***,it is difficult to obtain the 3DOM with(1)high penetrability due to the high viscosity of frequently-used organic polymer precursors and(2)high catalytic activity due to the low confinement effect,meaning that uniformly dispersed small-sized catalytic materials are difficult to load on ***,using carbon dots(CDs)with both organic and inorganic properties as a precursor and aggregation limiting agent,a 3DOM host with high penetrability and homodispersed Ni particles of small sizes(Ni-CDs-3DOM)was *** this host:(1)CDs precursor with suitable viscosity can improve the penetrability.(2)CDs can effectively inhibit the agglomeration of Ni particles.(3)Uniformly dispersed small-size Ni particles offer high-efficiency catalytic activity toward sulfur ***,the Ni-CDs-3DOM/sulfur cathode exhibits high sulfur utilization and stable cycling performance even under high sulfur loading(5.5 mg·cm^(-2))and low E/S(6.5μl·mg^(-1)).This work indicates the usefulness of CDs in constructing hosts for LSBs with high energy density.

Spinel MnCo_(2)O_(4) is a promising energy storage candidate as anode materials in lithium-ion batteries owing to synergistic effects of two intrinsic solid-state redox ***,low conductivity,poor rate capacity and rapid capacity fading have seriously impaired its practical *** overcome the inferiorities,urchin-like MnCo_(2)O_(4)@C core–shell nanowire arrays have been fabricated directly within a porous copper current collector via a facile hydrothermal method followed by a chemical vapor deposition carbonization *** a typical nanowire,the core is composed of interconnected MnCo_(2)O_(4)nanoparticles and the shell shows as a thin amorphous carbon *** integrated MnCo_(2)O_(4)@C/Cu structure could act as working anodes without using additives or polymer *** MnCo_(2)O_(4)@C/Cu possesses slightly longer li-ion insertion/desertion pathway than that of MnCo_(2)O_(4)/Cu,the carbon shell could effectively prevent the pulverization of MnCo_(2)O_(4) and lower down charge transfer resistance and actively participate in li-ion *** rearrangement of carbon atoms during lithiation/delithiation cycling could inhibit the formation of passive solid electrolyte interphase *** a result,the MnCo_(2)O_(4)@C/Cu electrode presents superior rate capacity(600 mAh·g^(−1) at 1 A·g^(−1)) and better stability(797 mAh·g^(−1) after 200 cycles at 100 mA·g^(−1)).The excellent reversible li ion storage capacity,cycling stability and rate capacity endow MnCo_(2)O_(4)@C/Cu great potential as stable and high output integrated anode materials in li-ion batteries.

Microalgal-indigenous bacterial wastewater treatment(MBWT)emerges as a promising approach for the concurrent removal of nitrogen(N)and phosphorus(P).Despite its potential,the prevalent use of MBWT in batch systems limits its broader ***,the success of MBWT critically depends on the stable self-adaptation and synergistic interactions between microalgae and indigenous bacteria,yet the underlying biological mechanisms are not fully *** we explore the viability and microbial dynamics of a continuous flow microalgae-indigenous bacteria advanced wastewater treatment system(CFMbaWTS)in processing actual secondary effluent,with a focus on varying hydraulic retention times(HRTs).The research highlights a stable,mutually beneficial relationship between indigenous bacteria and *** and indigenous bacteria can create an optimal environment for each other by providing essential cofactors(like iron,vitamins,and indole-3-acetic acid),oxygen,dissolved organic matter,and *** collaboration leads to effective microbial growth,enhanced N and P removal,and energy *** study also uncovers crucial metabolic pathways,functional genes,and patterns of microbial ***,the effluent NH4 t-N and P levels complied with the Chinese national Class-II,Class-V,Class-IA,and Class-IB wastewater discharge standards when the HRT was reduced from 15 to 6 *** results,including the highest rates of CO2 fixation(1.23 g L^(-1)),total energy yield(32.35 kJ L^(-1)),and the maximal lipid(33.91%)and carbohydrate(41.91%)content,were observed at an HRT of 15 ***,this study not only confirms the feasibility of CFMbaWTS but also lays a crucial foundation for enhancing our understanding of this technology and propelling its practical application in wastewater treatment plants.

lithium–sulfur(li–S)batteries promise high-energy-density potential to exceed the commercialized lithiumion batteries but suffer from limited cycling lifespan due to the side reactions between lithium polysulfides(liPSs)and li metal ***,a three-way electrolyte with ternary solvents is proposed to enable high-energy-density and long-cycling li–S pouch ***,ternary solvents composed of 1,2-dimethoxyethane,di-isopropyl sulfide,and 1,3,5-trioxane are employed to guarantee smooth cathode kinetics,inhibit the parasitic reactions,and construct a robust solid electrolyte interphase,*** cycling lifespan of li–S coin cells with 50μm li anodes and 4.0 mg cm^(−2) sulfur cathodes is prolonged from88 to 222 cycles using the three-way ***-heterogeneous solvation structure of liPSs and organic-rich solid electrolyte interphase are identified to improve the cycling stability of li metal ***,a 3.0 Ah-level li–S pouch cell with the three-way electrolyte realizes a high energy density of 405 Wh kg^(−1) and undergoes 27 *** affords a three-way electrolyte recipe for suppressing the side reactions of liPSs and inspires rational electrolyte design for practical high-energy-density and long-cycling li–S batteries.

Channel Estimation for Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface Aided Multiuser Millimeter-Wave/THz Systems

It is assumed that reconfigurable intelligent surface(RIS)is a key technology to enable the potential of mmWave *** passivity of the RIS makes channel estimation difficult because the channel can only be measured at the transceiver and not at the *** this paper,we propose a novel separate channel estimator via exploiting the cascaded sparsity in the continuously valued angular domain of the cascaded channel for the RIS-enabled millimeter-wave/Tera-Hz systems,i.e.,the two-stage estimation method where the cascaded channel is separated into the base station(BS)-RIS and the RIS-user(UE)***,we first reveal the cascaded sparsity,i.e.,the sparsity exists in the hybrid angular domains of BS-RIS and the RIS-UEs separated channels,to construct the specific sparsity structure for RIS enabled multi-user ***,we formulate the channel estimation problem using atomic norm minimization(ANM)to enhance the proposed sparsity structure in the continuous angular domains,where a low-complexity channel estimator via Alternating Direction Method of Multipliers(ADMM)is *** findings demonstrate that the proposed channel estimator outperforms the current state-of-the-arts in terms of performance.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the mechanisms behind the effects of acupuncture in Traditional Chinese Medicine,we delved into the adenosine triphosphate/peripheral purinergic P2X receptor 3(ATP/P2X3)receptor signaling system as an indicator of the body's energy state,commonly referred to as"Qi".METHODS:The tail-flick test was utilized to explore the impact of acupuncture on pain tolerance threshold(PTT)in mice,while also assessing adenosine(ADO)levels and adenylate energy charge(EC)at Zusanli(ST36).The study further investigated the dose-dependent effects of acupuncture on PTT and ADO levels at Zusanli(ST36).To shed light on the underlying mechanisms of acupuncture's effects,the study examined the impact of ATP,a P2X3 receptor antagonist,and adenosine disodium on PTT following acupuncture ***:Acupuncture at Zusanli(ST36)led to significant improvements in PTT in mice,with the most effective interventions being twirling for 2 min and needle retention for 28 *** interventions also resulted in significant increases in ATP *** effects of acupuncture were further augmented by administration of different doses of ATP at Zusanli(ST36),and pretreatment with a P2X3 receptor antagonist decreased *** EC peaked at 30 min after intraperitoneal injection of ATP,and pretreatment with various doses of *** 30 min prior to acupuncture increased PTT in a dose-dependent ***,pretreatment with an *** intramuscular injection of adenosine disodium enhanced the effects of ***:This research provides compelling evidence that ATP is involved in the regulation of PTT through acupuncture,revealing new avenues for achieving enhanced clinical outcomes.
