Lignin-reinforced PVDF electrolyte for dendrite-free quasi-solid-state Li metal battery

Quasi-solid-state lithium metal batteries(QSSLMBs)assembled with polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF)are a promising class of next-generation rechargeable batteries due to their safety,high energy density,and superior interfacial ***,PVDF has a series of inherent drawbacks such as low ionic conductivity,ease of crystallization,and hydrophobic character that leading to poor cell *** tackle these issues,a lignin-reinforced PVDF electrolyte is proposed in this work to solve these drawbacks of PVDF and enhance the comprehensive performance of *** lithophilic polar groups of lignin can promote uniform deposition of Li on the *** with the improved mechanical properties can efficiently prevent Li dendrites penetration through the *** addition,more active sites provided by lignin can also enhance Li^(+)transport and lead to a faster electrochemical reaction *** from the ingenious design,Li symmetric cells with 5%lignin-PVDF quasi-solid-state electrolyte can operate for 900 h at a high current density/capacity of 5 mA·cm^(-2)/5 mAh·cm^(-2),while shortcircuiting occurs after 56 h for the counterpart(pure PVDF).Moreover,a full cell of Li/5%lignin-PVDF/LFP cell demonstrates a high capacity of 96.2 mAh·g^(-1)after 2000 cycles at 10 *** work is expected to open up promising opportunities to develop other high-energy/power-density QSSLMBs.

Embedding Perovskite in Polymer Matrix Achieved Positive Temperature Response with Inversed Temperature Crystallization

Organic perovskites are promising semiconductor materials for advanced photoelectric applications. Their fluorescence typically shows a negative temperature coefficient due to bandgap change and structural instability. In this study, a novel perovskite-based composite with positive sensitivity to temperature was designed and obtained based on its inverse temperature crystallization, demonstrating good flexibility and solution processability. The supercritical drying method was used to address the limitations of annealing drying in preparing high-performance perovskite. Optimizing the precursor composition proved to be an effective approach for achieving high fluorescence and structural integrity in the perovskite material. This perovskite-based composite exhibited a positive temperature sensitivity of28.563%℃-1for intensity change and excellent temperature cycling reversibility in the range of 25–40℃in an ambient environment. This made it suitable for use as a smart window with rapid response. Furthermore, the perovskite composite was found to offer temperature-sensing photoluminescence and flexible processability due to its components of perovskite-based compounds and polyethylene oxide. The organic precursor solvent could be a promising candidate for use as ink to print or write on various substrates for optoelectronic devices responding to temperature.

Clinical manifestations and spermatogenesis outcomes in Chinese patients with congenital hypogonadotropic hypogonadism caused by inherited or de novo FGFR1 mutations

Fibroblast growth factor receptor 1(FGFR1)mutations are associated with congenital hypogonadotropic hypogonadism(CHH)through inheritance or spontaneous *** detected FGFR1 mutations in a Chinese cohort of 210 CHH patients at Peking Union Medical College Hospital(Beijing,China)using next-generation and Sanger *** assessed missense variant pathogenicity using six bioinformatics tools and compared clinical features and treatment outcomes between inherited and de novo mutation *** 19 patients with FGFR1 mutations,three were recurrent,and 16 were novel *** of the novel mutations were likely pathogenic according to the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics(ACMG)guidelines,with the prevalent P366L *** majority of FGFR1 mutations was inherited(57.9%),with frameshift mutations exclusive to the de novo mutation *** inherited mutation group had a lower incidence of cryptorchidism,short stature,and skeletal *** the inherited mutation group,luteinizing hormone(LH)levels were 0.5 IU l−1,follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH)levels were 1.0 IU l−1,and testosterone levels were 1.3 nmol l−*** contrast,the de novo group had LH levels of 0.2 IU l−1,FSH levels of 0.5 IU l−1,and testosterone levels of 0.9 nmol l−1,indicating milder hypothalamus–pituitary–gonadal axis(HPGA)functional deficiency in the inherited *** inherited mutation group showed a tendency toward higher spermatogenesis *** conclusion,this study underscores the predominance of inherited FGFR1 mutations and their association with milder HPGA dysfunction compared to de novo mutations,contributing to our understanding of the genetic and clinical aspects of FGFR1 mutations.

Mixed D-vine copula-based conditional quantile model for stochastic monthly streamflow simulation

Copula functions have been widely used in stochastic simulation and prediction of ***,existing models are usually limited to single two-dimensional or three-dimensional copulas with the same bivariate block for all *** address this limitation,this study developed a mixed D-vine copula-based conditional quantile model that can capture temporal *** model can generate streamflow by selecting different historical streamflow variables as the conditions for different months and by exploiting the conditional quantile functions of streamflows in different months with mixed D-vine *** up-to-down sequential method,which couples the maximum weight approach with the Akaike information criteria and the maximum likelihood approach,was used to determine the structures of multivariate Dvine *** developed model was used in a case study to synthesize the monthly streamflow at the Tangnaihai hydrological station,the inflow control station of the Longyangxia Reservoir in the Yellow River *** results showed that the developed model outperformed the commonly used bivariate copula model in terms of the performance in simulating the seasonality and interannual variability of *** model provides useful information for water-related natural hazard risk assessment and integrated water resources management and utilization.

Bearing Fault Diagnosis Based on Deep Discriminative Adversarial Domain Adaptation Neural Networks

Intelligent diagnosis driven by big data for mechanical fault is an important means to ensure the safe operation ofequipment. In these methods, deep learning-based machinery fault diagnosis approaches have received increasingattention and achieved some results. It might lead to insufficient performance for using transfer learning alone andcause misclassification of target samples for domain bias when building deep models to learn domain-invariantfeatures. To address the above problems, a deep discriminative adversarial domain adaptation neural networkfor the bearing fault diagnosis model is proposed (DDADAN). In this method, the raw vibration data are firstlyconverted into frequency domain data by Fast Fourier Transform, and an improved deep convolutional neuralnetwork with wide first-layer kernels is used as a feature extractor to extract deep fault features. Then, domaininvariant features are learned from the fault data with correlation alignment-based domain adversarial ***, to enhance the discriminative property of features, discriminative feature learning is embeddedinto this network to make the features compact, as well as separable between classes within the class. Finally, theperformance and anti-noise capability of the proposedmethod are evaluated using two sets of bearing fault *** results demonstrate that the proposed method is capable of handling domain offset caused by differentworkingconditions and maintaining more than 97.53% accuracy on various transfer tasks. Furthermore, the proposedmethod can achieve high diagnostic accuracy under varying noise levels.

Comparison of displacement damage effects on the dark signal in CMOS image sensors induced by CSNS back-n and XAPR neutrons

This study investigates the effects of displacement damage on the dark signal of a pinned photodiode CMOS image sensor (CIS) following irradiation with back-streaming white neutrons from white neutron sources at the China spallation neutron source (CSNS) and Xi'an pulsed reactor (XAPR). The mean dark signal, dark signal non-uniformity (DSNU), dark signal distribution, and hot pixels of the CIS were compared between the CSNS back-n and XAPR neutron irradiations. The non-ionizing energy loss and energy distribution of primary knock-on atoms in silicon, induced by neutrons, were calculated using the open-source package Geant4. An analysis combining experimental and simulation results showed a noticeable proportionality between the increase in the mean dark signal and the displacement damage dose (DDD). Additionally, neutron energies influence DSNU, dark signal distribution, and hot pixels. High neutron energies at the same DDD level may lead to pronounced dark signal non-uniformity and elevated hot pixel values.

This work demonstrates a novel polymerization-derived polymer electrolyte consisting of methyl methacrylate,lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide and fluoroethylene *** polymerization of MMA was initiated by the amino compounds following an anionic catalytic *** plays both roles including the initiator and Li ion source in the polymer ***,lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide has difficulty in initiating the polymerization reaction of methyl methacrylate monomer,a very high concentration of lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide is needed for initiating the ***,the fluoroethylene carbonate additive can work as a supporter to facilitate the degree of dissociation of lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide and increase its initiator capacity due to the high dielectric *** as-prepared poly-methyl methacrylate-based polymer electrolyte has a high ionic conductivity(1.19×10^(−3)S cm^(−1)),a wide electrochemical stability window(5 V vs Li^(+)/Li),and a high Li ion transference number(t_(Li^(+)))of 0.74 at room temperature(RT).Moreover,this polymerization-derived polymer electrolyte can effectively work as an artificial protective layer on Li metal anode,which enabled the Li symmetric cell to achieve a long-term cycling performance at 0.2 mAh cm^(−2)for 2800 *** LiFePO_(4)battery with polymerization-derived polymer electrolyte-modified Li metal anode shows a capacity retention of 91.17%after 800 cycles at 0.5 *** work provides a facile and accessible approach to manufacturing poly-methyl methacrylate-based polymerization-derived polymer electrolyte and shows great potential as an interphase in Li metal batteries.

Microplastics(MPs)have become a significant concern for their potential ***,the correlation between the size of plastic particles and their toxicity remains ***,we investigate the toxic effects of different sizes(80 nm,800 nm,8μm and 80μm)polystyrene MPs(PS-MPs)on the model organism Nile tilapia(Oreochromis niloticus).The results of bioluminescent imaging indicate that the 80 nm PS-MPs are more likely to invade the body.H&E staining shows severe damage on the intestinal villi and distinct hepatic steatosis in the 80 nm *** U labeling shows that the proliferation activity of intestinal and liver cells reduces significantly in the 80 nm *** gut microbiome analysis shows a severe imbalance of gut microbiota homeostasis in the 80 nm *** analysis of liver transcriptomics and metabolomics shows that the liver lipid metabolism is disordered in the 80 nm *** conclusion,this study confirms that the 80 nm PS-MPs are more likely to induce intestinal and liver *** the above lay the foundation for further study on the pathological damage of MPs to other organisms.

In-situ sludge reduction based on Mn^(2+)-catalytic ozonation conditioning:Feasibility study and microbial mechanisms

To improve the sludge conditioning efficiency without increasing the ozone dose,an in-situ sludge reduction process based on Mn^(2+)-catalytic ozonation conditioning was *** ozone conditioning alone as a control,a lab-scale sequencing batch reactor coupled with ozonated sludge recycle was evaluated for its operating performance at an ozone dose of 75 mg O_(3)/g VSS and 1.5 mmol/L Mn^(2+)*** results showed a 39.4%reduction in MLSS and an observed sludge yield of 0.236 kg MLSS/kg COD for the O_(3)+Mn^(2+)group compared to the O_(3)group (15.3%and 0.292 kg MLSS/kg COD),accompanied by better COD,NH_(4)^(+)-N,TN and TP removal,improved effluent SS and limited impact on excess sludge ***,activity tests,BIOLOG ECO microplates and 16S rRNA sequencing were applied to elucidate the changing mechanisms of Mn^(2+)-catalytic ozonation related to microbial action:(1) Dehydrogenase activity reached a higher peak.(2) Microbial utilization of total carbon sources had an elevated effect,up to approximately 18%,and metabolic levels of six carbon sources were also increased,especially for sugars and amino acids most pronounced.(3) The abundance of Defluviicoccus under the phylum Proteobacteria was enhanced to 12.0%and dominated in the sludge,they had strong hydrolytic activity and metabolic *** bacteria of the genus Ferruginibacter also showed an abundance of 7.6%,they contributed to the solubilization and reduction of sludge *** results could guide researchers to further reduce ozonation conditioning costs,improve sludge management and provide theoretical support.
