Prediction of the Wastewater’s pH Based on Deep Learning Incorporating Sliding Windows

To protect the environment,the discharged sewage’s quality must meet the state’s discharge standards.There are many water quality indicators,and the pH(Potential of Hydrogen)value is one of them.The natural water’s pH value is 6.0–8.5.The sewage treatment plant uses some data in the sewage treatment process to monitor and predict whether wastewater’s pH value will exceed the standard.This paper aims to study the deep learning prediction model of wastewater’s pH.Firstly,the research uses the random forest method to select the data features and then,based on the sliding window,convert the data set into a time series which is the input of the deep learning training model.Secondly,by analyzing and comparing relevant references,this paper believes that the CNN(Convolutional Neural Network)model is better at nonlinear data modeling and constructs a CNN model including the convolution and pooling layers.After alternating the combination of the convolutional layer and pooling layer,all features are integrated into a full-connected neural network.Thirdly,the number of input samples of the CNN model directly affects the prediction effect of the model.Therefore,this paper adopts the sliding window method to study the optimal size.Many experimental results show that the optimal prediction model can be obtained when alternating six convolutional layers and three pooling layers.The last full-connection layer contains two layers and 64 neurons per layer.The sliding window size selects as 12.Finally,the research has carried out data prediction based on the optimal CNN deep learning model.The predicted pH of the sewage is between 7.2 and 8.6 in this paper.The result is applied in the monitoring system platform of the“Intelligent operation and maintenance platform of the reclaimed water plant.”

Study of the wind-pressure distribution of flat-roof parabolic condensers based on wind-tunnel tests

The structure of parabolic condensers makes them susceptible to wind load because of their thin and large windward mirrors.In this paper,the wind pressure on a model of a condenser mirror(1:35)on multistorey flat roofs is analysed via pressure measurement in a wind tunnel.The mean wind-pressure distribution law of flat-roof condenser mirrors(including the change law with working conditions and the maximum distribution characteristics)and the distribution law of fluctuating and extreme wind pressure are obtained.Furthermore,by comparison with the ground-based condenser distribution law,similarities and differences between the two are obtained.Research results show that the wind-pressure distribution law of flat-roof parabolic condenser mirrors is the same as those on the ground,but the mean wind-pressure coefficient(absolute value)is generally~30%smaller.Furthermore,the maximum effect is generally located at the windward mirror edge and the mirror is more susceptible to wind pressure in wind directions of 30°and 135°-150°.The results of this study can provide a theoretical reference for wind-resistant structure design and multistorey flat-roof condenser-related research.

Labeled box-particle CPHD filter for multiple extended targets tracking

In multiple extended targets tracking, replacing traditional multiple measurements with a rectangular region of the nonzero volume in the state space inspired by the box-particle idea is exactly suitable to deal with extended targets, without distinguishing the measurements originating from the true targets or clutter.Based on our recent work on extended box-particle probability hypothesis density(ET-BP-PHD) filter, we propose the extended labeled box-particle cardinalized probability hypothesis density(ET-LBP-CPHD) filter, which relaxes the Poisson assumptions of the extended target probability hypothesis density(PHD) filter in target numbers, and propagates not only the intensity function but also cardinality distribution. Moreover, it provides the identity of individual target by adding labels to box-particles. The proposed filter can improve the precision of estimating target number meanwhile achieve targets' tracks. The effectiveness and reliability of the proposed algorithm are verified by the simulation results.

Start-up Characteristics of Linear Compressors in a Refrigeration System

This work investigates the start-up characteristics of linear compressors in a refrigeration system through experiment and simulation.Experiments are carried out by a refrigeration test system with a linear compressor controlled by a LabVIEW platform.A simulation model that considers the nonlinear process of gas force is set up on the basis of Runge-Kutta method for linear compressors.Compared with the experimental results,the simulation errors are within 15%,including the unstable state.The influences of ambient temperature and power frequency on linear compressors are studied through experiments.Unstable phenomena exist at 25℃ ambient temperature compared with the designed ambient temperature of 35℃.The unsteadiness mechanism is analyzed by simulation.Simulation analysis indicated that two sensitive stages of linear compressors,namely,starting to pump and touching top dead center,are unstable.Furthermore,properly increasing equivalent mass (approximately 3%) or spring stiffness doring the design stage can be a practical method to improve the stability of linear compressors.

Effect of baffles on bubble behavior in a bubbling fluidized bed for chemical looping processes

A bubbling fluidized bed is generally used as the fuel reactor in chemical looping processes.However,in sufficient gas-solid contact remains a steadfast problem.As such,we propose the use of in ternal baffles to split bubbles at a high gas velocity and to restrict the movement of large-scale solids in the fluidized bed.We investigated the effect of baffle arrangement on the bubble size and energy,pressure gradient,particle distribution,and particle velocity in a fluidized bed using a computational particle fluid dynamics simulation based on our experimental results.We discuss the main influenci ng factors,which in elude presence of caps,number of baffles,and the baffle opening ratio.The baffle structure with caps efficiently broke the large bubbles without creating jet flow.Three baffles were deemed suitable in the bed owing to the small bubble size and uniform gas-solid distribution in each compartment.We selected a baffle opening ratio of 20.5%,which improved the flow pattern without causing a significant increase in the pressure gradient and particle velocity through the baffles.We also discussed the potential for sea ling up this baffled fluidized bed for industrial applications.

Background:MicroRNA(miRNA)and mRNA levels in matching specimens were used to identify miRNA–mRNA interactions.We aimed to integrate transcriptome,immunophenotype,methylation,mutation,and survival data analyses to examine the profiles of miRNAs and target mRNAs and their associations with breast cancer(BC)diagnosis.Methods:Based on the Gene Expression Omnibus(GEO)database and The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA),differentially expressed miRNAs and targeted mRNAs were screened from experimentally verified miRNA-target interaction databases using Pearson's correlation analysis.We used real-time quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction to verify BC and benign disease samples,and logistic regression analysis was used to establish a diagnostic model based on miRNAs and target mRNAs.Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis was performed to test the ability to recognize the miRNA-mRNA pairs.Next,we investigated the complex interactions between miRNA-mRNA regulatory pairs and phenotypic hallmarks.Results:We identified 27 and 359 dysregulated miRNAs and mRNAs,respectively,based on the GEO and TCGA databases.Using Pearson's correlation analysis,10 negative miRNA-mRNA regulatory pairs were identified after screening both databases,and the related miRNA and target mRNA levels were assessed in 40 BC tissues and 40 benign breast disease tissues.Two key regulatory pairs(miR-205-5p/High mobility group box 3(HMGB3)and miR-96-5p/Forkhead Box O1(FOXO1))were selected to establish the diagnostic model.They also had utility in survival and clinical analyses.Conclusions:A diagnostic model including two miRNAs and their respective target mRNAs was established to distinguish between BC and benign breast diseases.These markers play essential roles in BC pathogenesis.

Influence of Rubber Powder Movement on Properties of Asphalt Rubber from the Mesoscopic View

The research on asphalt performance mainly focused on the macro performance and micro mechanism.Mesoscopic analysis was introduced to study the effect of rubber powder movement on asphalt rubber properties.After the preparation parameters and the preparation process of asphalt rubber were determined,the modification mechanism and rheological properties were analyzed which revealed the compatible stability mechanism.Then,the analysis model of asphalt rubber was established to focus on simulating the effect of rubber powder and the spatial movement on its mechanical properties.The experimental results show that rubber powder can make the asphalt rubber bear more uniform stress distribution and enhance the ability to resist deformation.Meanwhile,the rotational motion and final distribution of rubber powder have an obvious impact on the mechanical properties of asphalt rubber.In the selected feature points,the average stress of rubber powder at 0°space angle is only 34.1%of that at90°space angle.When the rubber powders are all in parallel in the ideal state,it enhances the mechanical properties the most.This study supplements the“mesoscopic”scale between macro and micro research.The relationship between micro mechanism and macro properties of asphalt rubber will be established from the mesoscopic perspective.It is also an effort to realize the effective correlation from micro,mesoscopic to macro in asphalt.

Construction of Cu-Zn Co-doped layered materials for sodium-ion batteries with high cycle stability

Due to its high operational voltage and energy density,P2-type Na_(0.67)Ni_(0.3)Mn_(0.7)O_(2) has become a leading cathode material for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs),which is an ideal option for large-scale energy storage.However,the practical application of P2-type Na_(0.67)Ni_(0.3)Mn_(0.7)O_(2) is limited by the capacity constraints and unwanted phase transitions,presenting significant challenges to the widespread application of SIBs.To address these challenges and optimize the electrochemical properties of the P2 phase cathode material,this study proposes a Cu and Zn co-doped strategy to improve the electrochemical performance.The incorporation of Cu/Zn can stabilize the P2-phase structure against P2-O2 phase transitions,thus enhancing its electrochemical properties.The as-obtained P2-type Na0.67[Ni_(0.3)Mn_(0.58)Cu_(0.09)Zn_(0.03)]O_(2) cathode material shows an impressive cycling stability,maintaining 80%capacity retention after 1000 cycles at 2 C.The cyclic voltammetry(CV)tests show that the Cu^(2+)/Cu^(3+)redox reaction is also involved in charge compensation during the charge/discharge process.

First reported by Bietti in 1937(Bietti,1937),Bietti crystalline corneoretinal dystrophy(BCD,OMIM 210370)is a rare,autosomal recessively inherited progressive retinal disease.The disease is more common in Asian populations,particularly in Chinese and Japanese(Li et al.,2004).The prevalence of BCD is estimated at 1 in 67,000,representing around only 21,000 individuals in China(Ng et al.,2016).CYP4V2 was identified as the disease-causing gene in 2004.It encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 family 4.
