The gut microbiota(GM)plays a major role in the progression and treatment response of liver diseases,with diverse compositions based on different *** China,hepatitis B virus(HBV)infection is the leading cause of cirrhosis and affects the GM composition in patients with cirrhosis-related portal hypertension(PH).However,a few studies have been conducted on GM alterations after transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt(TIPS)in patients with HBV-related PH.A recent study investigated the changes in the GM in these patients after *** study found an increase in potentially pathogenic bacteria and a decrease in beneficial bacteria post-TIPS,particularly in patients with hepatic encephalopathy(HE),indicating the potential role of the GM in HE prediction and management ***,the study had several limitations,including a small sample size,limited follow-up,a single time point for sample collection,and inadequate analysis of the correlation between intestinal flora,HBV infection status,and clinical *** research should address these limitations by expanding the sample size,prolonging the follow-up duration,collecting samples at multiple time points,and conducting compre-hensive analyses to confirm the findings and evaluate the effectiveness of individualized microbiome-based therapies.

Thermal recovery techniques for producing oil sands have substantial environmental *** can efficiently improve thermal bitumen recovery and reduce the required amount of *** a technique requires solid knowledge about the interaction mechanism between surfactants,bitumen,water,and rock at the nanoscale *** particular,oil sands ores have extremely complex mineralogy as they contain many clay minerals(montmorillonite,illite,kaolinite).In this study,molecular dynamics simulation is carried out to elucidate the unclear mechanisms of clay minerals contributing to the bitumen recovery under a steam-anionic surfactant co-injection *** found that the clay content significantly influenced an oil detachment process from hydrophobic quartz *** reveal that the presence of montmorillonite,illite,and the siloxane surface of kaolinite in nanopores can enhance the oil detachment process from the hydrophobic surfaces because surfactant molecules have a stronger tendency to interact with bitumen and ***,the gibbsite surfaces of kaolinite curb the oil detachment *** interaction energy analysis,the siloxane surfaces of kaolinite result in the most straightforward oil detachment *** addition,we found that the clay type presented in nanopores affected the wettability of the quartz *** quartz surfaces associated with the gibbsite surfaces of kaolinite show the strongest *** comparing previous experimental findings with the results of molecular dynamics(MD)simulations,we observed consistent wetting *** alignment serves to validate the reliability of the simulation *** outcome of this paper makes up for the lack of knowledge of a surfactant-assisted bitumen recovery process and provides insights for further in-situ bitumen production engineering designs.

Preparation of Cu（II）-imprinted Nanofibers from co-Electrospinning PVA and Imprinting Complex

A novel method to prepare ion-imprinted nanofibers（IINFs）, i.e., the electrospinning and ion imprinting technique is presented. The electrospinning solution was composed of the matrix polymer and the imprinting complex. The model fibrous ion-imprinted adsorbent[Cu（II）-IINF] was synthesized from poly（vinyl alcohol） as the matrix po- lymer and the complex of Cu（II） and L-histidine as the imprinting complex. The product was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectrometry（FTIR） and the scanning electron microscopy（SEM）, respectively. The adsorption of Cu（II）-IINF for Cu（II） was conducted by a batch of experiments. The adsorption capacity reached 114.75 mg/g at 45℃ and the selectivity coefficients of Cu（II）-IINF for Cu（II） relative to Pb（II）, Ni（II） and Zn（II） were 51.6, 54.4 and 66.3, respectively. In addition, Cu（II）-IINF also has good regeneration performance and the efficiency of adsor- bing Cu^2＋ is about 88.3% of the initial adsorption capacity after five cycles. All these results demonstrate that the re- ported method for preparing fibrous ion-imprinted adsorbents is feasible, and Cu（II）-IINF is a promising adsorbent for the efficient removal and recovery of coooer ions from the aqueous solution.

BACKGROUND Medication misuse or overuse is significantly associated with poor health *** regarding the knowledge,cultural beliefs,and behavior about medication safety in the general population is *** To conduct a survey on medication habits and explored the potential factors impacting medication *** The current survey included adults from 18 districts and counties in Harbin,China.A questionnaire on medication safety was designed based on knowledge,cultural beliefs,and *** univariate and multivariate analyses were used to explore the factors that impacted medication *** A total of 394 respondents completed the questionnaires on medication *** mean scores for knowledge,cultural beliefs,and behavior about medication safety were 59.41±19.33,40.66±9.24,and 60.97±13.69,*** medication knowledge score was affected by age(P=0.044),education(P<0.001),and working status(P=0.015).Moreover,the cultural beliefs score was significantly affected by education(P<0.001).Finally,education(P=0.003)and working status(P=0.011)significantly affected the behavior *** The knowledge,cultural beliefs,and behavior about medication safety among the general population was *** education should be provisioned for the elderly,individuals with a low education level,and the unemployed to improve medication safety in Harbin,China.

We propose a novel machine learning approach to reconstruct meshless surface wind speed fields,i.e.,to reconstruct the surface wind speed at any location,based on meteorological background fields and geographical *** random forest method is selected to develop the machine learning data reconstruction model(MLDRM-RF)for wind speeds over Beijing from *** use temporal,geospatial attribute and meteorological background field features as *** wind speed field can be reconstructed at any station in the region not used in the training process to cross-validate model *** evaluation considers the spatial distribution of and seasonal variations in the root mean squared error(RMSE)of the reconstructed wind speed field across *** average RMSE is 1.09 m s^(−1),considerably smaller than the result(1.29 m s^(−1))obtained with inverse distance weighting(IDW)***,we extract the important feature permutations by the method of mean decrease in impurity(MDI)and discuss the reasonableness of the model prediction ***-RF is a reasonable approach with excellent potential for the improved reconstruction of historical surface wind speed fields with arbitrary grid *** a model is needed in many wind applications,such as wind energy and aviation safety assessments.

Intrahepatic arterioportal fistulas(APFs)are abnormal hepatic artery and portal vein(PV)communications that develop as a result of congenital malformation,trauma,ruptured hepatic aneurysm,cirrhosis,tumor-related changes,biopsy,chemotherapy or iatrogenic causes[1,2].The most common symptoms are gastrointestinal bleeding and ascites secondary to portal hypertension;other symptoms include abdominal pain,pyrexia,edema,back pain and jaundice[3].The main goal of therapy is to decrease the portal pressure with variceal bleeding being the absolute indi-cation for surgical *** embolization(TAE)should be the first choice to treat APFs,while resection,portocaval shunt and even transplantation may cure APFs in the case of TAE failure[4].In previous reports,caudate lobe-sparing subtotal hep-atectomy(CLSSH)has been applied for the treatment of primary hepatolithiasis and hepatocellular carcinoma[5,6].As far as we know,this is the first report describing CLSSH as treatment for an extensive intrahepatic APF,which involved segments 2 to 8,with corresponding hypertrophy of the caudate lobe.

BACKGROUND Chinese herbal medicine is widely used as a complement or alternative treatment in coronary artery disease(CAD)patients after percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI)in *** compared the incidence of the major adverse cardi-ovascular event(MACE)of CAD patients with or without the complement use of Chinese herbal medicine after *** In this prospective,observational study that was conducted from September 2016 to August 2019 in Fuwai Hospital(China),we followed up consecutive patients who received PCI treatment for two *** was defined as the composite all-cause mortality,revascularization,and myocardial infarction(MI)and was compared between those using(integrative medicine group)or those not using Chinese herbal medicine as an additional treatment to standard Western medicine,with unadjusted(Kaplan-Meier curves)and risk-adjusted(multivariable Cox regression)*** A total of 5942 patients after PCI were enrolled in this study,and 5453 patients were included in the final analysis(4189[76.8%]male;mean age:61.9±9.9%years).During the follow-ups,2932(53.8%)patients used only Western medicine while 2521(46.2%)patients had used Chinese herbal medicine as an additional treatment to standard Western *** in the integrative medicine group(IM group)were older than the Western medicine group(WM group),had more females and less pre-vious *** incidence of MACE was 15.3%(449/2932)in WM group and 11.54%(291/2521)in IM *** regression ana-lysis showed that cumulative incidence of MACE was 27%lower in patients of the IM group than those in WM group(hazard ra-tio=0.73;95%CI:0.63-0.85;P<0.0001).CONCLUSIONS For CAD patients after PCI treatment,complement use of Chinese herbal medicine is associated with a lower 2-year MACE *** prospective studies are warranted to provide higher levels of benefit evidence in these pa-tients.
