This editorial comments on an article published in a recent issue of World Journal of Gastroenterology,entitled“Association of low muscle strength with metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease:A nationwide study”.We focused on the association between muscle strength and the incidence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)and metabolic-associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD),as well as the mechanisms underlying the correlation and related clinical applications.NAFLD,which is now redefined as MAFLD,is one of the most common chronic liver diseases globally with an increasing prevalence and is characterized by malnutrition,which may contribute to decreased muscle strength.Reduction of muscle strength reportedly has a pathogenesis similar to that of NAFLD/MAFLD,including insulin resistance,inflammation,sedentary behavior,as well as insufficient vitamin D.Multiple studies have focused on the relationship between sarcopenia or muscle strength and NAFLD.However,studies investigating the relationship between muscle strength and MAFLD are limited.Owing to the shortage of specific medications for NAFLD/MAFLD treatment,early detection is essential.Furthermore,the relationship between muscle strength and NAFLD/MAFLD suggests that improvements in muscle strength may have an impact on disease prevention and may provide novel insights into treatments including dietary therapy,as well as tailored physical activity.

PPP1R14A is Associated with Immunotherapy Resistance in Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma Identified by Single-Cell and Bulk RNA-Sequencing

Objective To identify nivolumab resistance-related genes in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma(HNSCC)using single-cell and bulk RNA-sequencing data.Methods The single-cell and bulk RNA-sequencing data downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus database were analyzed to screen out differentially expressed genes(DEGs)between nivolumab resistant and nivolumab sensitive patients using R software.The Least Absolute Shrinkage Selection Operator(LASSO)regression and Recursive Feature Elimination(RFE)algorithm were performed to identify key genes associated with nivolumab resistance.Functional enrichment of DEGs was analyzed with Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes analyses.The relationships of key genes with immune cell infiltration,differentation trajectory,dynamic gene expression profiles,and ligand-receptor interaction were explored.Results We found 83 DEGs.They were mainly enriched in T-cell differentiation,PD-1 and PD-L1 checkpoint,and T-cell receptor pathways.Among six key genes identified using machine learning algorithms,only PPP1R14A gene was differentially expressed between the nivolumab resistant and nivolumab sensitive groups both before and after immunotherapy(P0,P<0.05),lower differentiation of infiltrated immune cells(P<0.05),and a higher degree of interaction between HLA and CD4(P<0.05).Conclusions PPP1R14A gene is closely associated with resistance to nivolumab in HNSCC patients.Therefore,PPP1R14A may be a target to ameliorate nivolumab resistance of HNSCC patients.

ETS-TEE: An Energy-Efficient Task Scheduling Strategy in a Mobile Trusted Computing Environment

A trusted execution environment(TEE)is a system-on-chip and CPU system with a wide security solution available on today’s Arm application(APP)processors,which dominate the smartphone market.Generally,mobile APPs create a trusted application(TA)in the TEE to process sensitive information,such as payment or message encryption,which is transparent to the APPs running in the rich execution environments(REEs).In detail,the REE and TEE interact and eventually send back the results to the APP in the REE through the interface provided by the TA.Such an operation definitely increases the overhead of mobile APPs.In this paper,we first present a comprehensive analysis of the performance of open-source TEE encrypted text.We then propose a high energy-efficient task scheduling strategy(ETS-TEE).By leveraging the deep learning algorithm,our policy considers the complexity of TA tasks,which are dynamically scheduled between modeling on the local device and offloading to an edge server.We evaluate our approach on Raspberry Pi 3B as the local mobile device and Jetson TX2 as the edge server.The results show that compared with the default scheduling strategy on the local device,our approach achieves an average of 38.0%energy reduction and 1.6×speedup.This greatly reduces the performance loss caused by mobile devices in order to protect the safe execution of applications,so that the trusted execution environment has both security and high performance.

Use of Evidence-Based Research Approach in RCTs of Acupuncture-Related Therapies for Primary Dysmenorrhea: A Meta-Research

Objective To assess the use of evidence-based research(EBR)approach in randomized controlled trials(RCTs)of acupuncture-related therapies for primary dysmenorrhea(PD).Methods PubMed,EMBASE,Cochrane Library,China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wanfang Database,Chinese Biomedical Database,and China Science and Technology Journal Database were searched from January 2013 to December 2022 for RCTs of acupuncture on PD.The full text and references of each RCT were read to assess whether systematic reviews(SRs)or other types of studies with similar research questions and end-users’perspectives were cited to justify and design the trial.In addition,the discussion section were analyzed to evaluate whether trials placed the new result in the existing SRs to draw a conclusion.Multivariable logistic regression was used to find variables that associated with 3 aspects of EBR approach:(1)citing clinical studies for justification,(2)citing relevant studies that obtain the perspectives of end users,and(3)citing clinical studies for results discussion.Results Of 473 RCTs included,45.67%(216)of the trials cited relevant similar studies,21.56%(102)referenced to the studies that collected end-users’perspectives,and 10.99%(52)placed result in the context of the previous research.Few RCTs appropriately applied EBR approach.Among all the included studies,3.17%(15)of the trials used SRs to inform study questions but none of them used updated SRs with acceptable quality;1.05%(5)of the trials cited SRs of end-user’s perspectives in the justification and design of the study,and only 1 trial added results in existing SR to draw a conclusion.Year of publication,language,funding,registration,ethical approval and number of sites were significantly associated with 1 of the 3 aspects of EBR approach.Conclusions Few RCTs in acupuncture-related therapies for PD used the EBR approach to minimize research redundancy.Researchers,research institutes,funding agencies,ethics committees,journals and peer reviewers in acupuncture should make efforts to

An OP-TEE Energy-Efficient Task Scheduling Approach Based on Mobile Application Characteristics

Trusted Execution Environment(TEE)is an important part of the security architecture of modern mobile devices,but its secure interaction process brings extra computing burden to mobile devices.This paper takes open portable trusted execution environment(OP-TEE)as the research object and deploys it to Raspberry Pi 3B,designs and implements a benchmark for OP-TEE,and analyzes its program characteristics.Furthermore,the application execution time,energy consumption and energy-delay product(EDP)are taken as the optimization objectives,and the central processing unit(CPU)frequency scheduling strategy of mobile devices is dynamically adjusted according to the characteristics of different applications through the combined model.The experimental result shows that compared with the default strategy,the scheduling method proposed in this paper saves 21.18%on average with the Line Regression-Decision Tree scheduling model with the shortest delay as the optimization objective.The Decision Tree-Support Vector Regression(SVR)scheduling model,which takes the lowest energy consumption as the optimization goal,saves 22%energy on average.The Decision Tree-K-Nearest Neighbor(KNN)scheduling model with the lowest EDP as the optimization objective optimizes about 33.9%on average.

Copper-catalyzed enantioselective desymmetrizing C（sp）–H functionalization of azide-ynamides via α-imino copper carbenes

α-Imino metal carbenes are versatile intermediates in organic synthesis, and have broad applications in the assembly of divergent N-heterocycles. However, the catalytic enantioselective desymmetrization based on α-imino metal carbenes has not been developed to date. Herein, we disclose an enantioselective desymmetrizing C（sp2）–H functionalization of azide-ynamides via α-imino copper carbenes, leading to the efficient assembly of divergent chiral indoloazepines in generally moderate to excellent yields with high enantioselectivities. Notably, this reaction represents the first enantioselective desymmetrization based on α-imino metal carbenes. Further synthetic transformations and biological tests show the potential utility of this method. Moreover,computational studies are employed to elucidate the reaction mechanism and the origin of enantioselectivity.

Dielectric,Electromagnetic Interference Shielding and Absorption Properties of Si_3N_4-PyC Composite Ceramics

Pyrolytic carbon （PyC） was infiltrated into silicon nitride （Si3N4） ceramics by precursor infiltration and pyrolysis （PIP） of phenolic resin, and Ni nanoparticles were added into the phenolic resin to change the electric conductivity of Si3N4-PyC composite ceramics. Dielectric permittivity, electromagnetic interference （EMI） shielding and absorption properties of Si3N4-PyC composite ceramics were studied as a function of Ni content at 8.2-12.4 GHz （X-band）. When Ni nanoparticles were added into phenolic resin, the electric conductivity of the prepared composite ceramics decreased with increasing Ni content, which was attributed to the decrease of graphitization degree of PyC. The decrease in electric conductivity led to the decrease in both permittivity and EMI shielding effectiveness. Since too high permittivity is harmful to the impendence match and results in the strong reflection, the electromagnetic wave absorption property of Si3N4-PyC composite ceramics increases with increasing Ni content. When the content of Ni nanoparticles added into phenolic resin was 2 wt%, the composite ceramics possessed the lowest electric conductivity and displayed the most excellent absorption property with a minimum reflection loss as low as -28.9 dB.

BACKGROUND Although chronic erosive gastritis(CEG)is common,its clinical characteristics have not been fully elucidated.The lack of consensus regarding its treatment has resulted in varied treatment regimens.AIM To explore the clinical characteristics,treatment patterns,and short-term outcomes in CEG patients in China.METHODS We recruited patients with chronic non-atrophic or mild-to-moderate atrophic gastritis with erosion based on endoscopy and pathology.Patients and treating physicians completed a questionnaire regarding history,endoscopic findings,and treatment plans as well as a follow-up questionnaire to investigate changes in symptoms after 4 wk of treatment.RESULTS Three thousand five hundred sixty-three patients from 42 centers across 24 cities in China were included.Epigastric pain(68.0%),abdominal distension(62.6%),and postprandial fullness(47.5%)were the most common presenting symptoms.Gastritis was classified as chronic non-atrophic in 69.9%of patients.Among those with erosive lesions,72.1%of patients had lesions in the antrum,51.0%had multiple lesions,and 67.3%had superficial flat lesions.In patients with epigastric pain,the combination of a mucosal protective agent(MPA)and proton pump inhibitor was more effective.For those with postprandial fullness,acid regurgitation,early satiety,or nausea,a MPA appeared more promising.CONCLUSION CEG is a multifactorial disease which is common in Asian patients and has non-specific symptoms.Gastroscopy may play a major role in its detection and diagnosis.Treatment should be individualized based on symptom profile.

微观三维形貌重建作为精密制造领域生产制造的关键环节,其重建过程依赖于高分辨率稠密图像的采集.而面对复杂应用场景的高时效性需求,高分辨率稠密图像的输入会导致运算量与计算复杂度呈几何倍增加,无法实现高效率低延时的实时微观三维形貌重建.针对上述现状,提出一种分组并行的轻量级实时微观三维形貌重建方法 GPLWS-Net.GPLWS-Net以U型网络为基础构造轻量化主干网络,以并行分组式查询加速三维形貌重建过程,并针对神经网络结构进行重参数化设计避免重建微观结构的精度损失.另外,为弥补现有微观三维重建数据集的缺失,公开了一组多聚焦微观三维重建数据集(Micro3D),其标签数据利用多模态数据融合的方式获取场景高精度的三维结构.结果表明,所提出的GPLWS-Net网络不仅可以保证重建精度,而且在三组公开数据集中相比于其他5类深度学习方法平均耗时降低39.15%,在Micro3D数据集中平均耗时降低50.55%,能够实现复杂微观场景的实时三维形貌重建.

降低声爆水平是下一代超声速运输机研制需要解决的关键问题之一。低声爆优化通常使飞行器布局向着机翼后掠角增大、机翼沿机身方向分布范围增大的趋势发展,给飞行器的配平和低速特性带来不利影响。以某超声速客机基本构型为研究对象,建立基于类别/形状函数的翼身组合体参数化建模方法;基于超声速线化理论分析外形几何参数对声爆水平的影响。在此基础上,分别针对机身轮廓、机翼平面形状以及扭转角分布对该构型进行低声爆优化和俯仰力矩特性优化,并采用CFD方法对优化结果进行校核。结果表明:与基准构型相比,在不显著增加俯仰力矩的基础上,优化构型的阻力降低了19 cts,近场过压显著降低,地面声爆响度降低5.1 PLdB。
