Real-time monitoring of the lithiation process in organic electrode 7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane by in situ EPR

Organic electrodes are advantageous for rechargeable lithium-ion batteries owing to their high theoretical capacities, diverse functionalities, and environmental compatibility. Understanding the working mechanism of organic electrodes is vital to strategic materials design. However, due to lack of suitable characterization tools, it has been challenging to probe the reaction processes of organic electrodes in real-time. Here, non-destructive in situ electron paramagnetic res.nance(EPR) was performed on a model organic electrode, 7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane(TCnQ) used in rechargeable lithium-ion batteries,to directly follow the redox reactions in real-time. In order to minimize interfering signals from other parts of the batteries than the TCnQ electrode of interest, two sets of batteries are fabricated and studied with in situ EPR:(1) a Li CoO_(2)//Li_(4)Ti_5O_(12) full-cell battery to determine the EPR signal evolution of additives and electrolytes;(2) a Li CoO_(2)//TCnQ battery, and the difference in the observed EPR signals reflects purely the redox reactions of TCnQ upon lithiation and delithiation. A two-electron reversible redox reaction is delineated for TCnQ. TCnQ dimers form during the first electron injection upon lithiation and followed by the break-down of the dimers and associated electron coupling to produce massive delocalized electrons, resulting in increased EPR signal during the 2 nd electron injection. Reversible trends are observed during electron ejection upon delithiation. In situ EPR is very s.nsitive to electron activities,thus is a powerful tool to follow redox reactions of organic electrodes, allowing for improved fundamental understanding of how organic electrodes work and for informed design of high-performance organic materials for energy storage.

superiority of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation to nilotinib and dasatinib for adult patients with chronic myelogenous leukemia in the accelerated phase

In the tyros.ne kinase inhibitor （TKI） era, imatinib is the first-line therapy for patients with chronic myeloid leukemia （CML） in chronic or accelerated phase. Although second-generation TKIs （TKI2）, including dasatinib and nilotinib, are appropriate treatment regimens for patients with disease that progressed to accelerated phase following imatinib therapy, allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation （allo-HsCT） is the only curative therapy. This study retrospectively analyzed the efficacy of TKI2 and HsCT for treatment of CML in accelerated phase. ninety-three patients with CML registered in the Chinese CML alliance database from February 2001 to February 2014 were enrolled and divided into the TKI2 （n = 33） and allo-HsCT （n = 60） groups. In the TKI2 group, 26 and 7 patients received nilotinib and dasatinib, respectively, as initial TKI2 and 11 patients transferred to the alternative TKI2 after failure to one TKI2. In the allo-HsCT group, 22 （36.7%）, 35 （58.3%）, and 3 （10%） patients underwent aHo-HsCT from an HLA-matched sibling donor, HLA mismatched/haploidentical donor, and unrelated donor, respectively. All patients in the HsCT group were engrafted. Overall, 69.7%, 48.5%, and 45.5% of patients pres.nted hematological, cytogenetic, and major molecular responses, respectively, to at least one of TKI2. All 60 patients （100%） achieved CHR and cytogenetic response in the HsCT group. Patients in the TKI2 group exhibited lower 5-year overall survival rate （42.9% vs. 86.4%, P = 0.002）, 5-year event-free survival rate （14.3% vs. 76.1%, P 〈 0.001）, and 5-year progression-free survival （28.6% vs. 78.1%, P 〈 0.001） than those in the alIo-HsCT group. Multivariate analysis showed that male sex and TKI2 therapy were predictors of poor overall survival, whereas hemoglobin 〈 100 g/L and TKI2 therapy were predictors of poor event-free survival and progression-free survival. Abstract The novel shish-kebab-type liquid crystalline poly（p-phenylene）s were s.nthesized through suzuki coupling reaction from 2,5-bis[（4-n-alkoxyl）benzoyloxy]1,4-dibromobenzene （monomer 1） and 1,4-benzenediboronic acid bistrimethylene cyclic ester （monomer 2）. Their structure and properties were characterized by GPC, DsC, X-ray diffraction and polarizing optical microscope （POM）. It was found that the polymers turned to liquid crystalline phase above their melting point. The melting point （Tm） of the polymers decreases when the length of the alkoxy tails of the mesogenic units increases. The mesophase was identified by X-ray diffraction method. The polymers could dissolve in common organic solvents and show strong blue fluorescence. The maximum absorption bands of polymers prepared from annealed films have large red-shift due to the spontaneous orientation of the liquid crystalline side chains. The same phenomena were also observed in the fluorescence spectra.

Cerium （III） tetraphenylporphyrin nitrate Ce（TPP）nO3 was s.nthesized by us.ng meso- tetraphenylporphyrin （TPP） and Ce（nO3）.6H20 in mixture solution of CHC13 and C2HsOH （V：V=1：1）. The complex was characterized by UV-Vis, FT-IR, conventional fluorescence, MALDI-TOF-Ms, and ^1H nMR spectral techniques. The structure of complex was proposed viaspectral analyses, in which tetraphenylporphyrin was coordinated to a cerium ion in a tetradentate fashion, while one nitrate was coordinated to the same cerium ion. After bubbling nO to the solution of Ce（TPP）nO3 in CH2Cl2, spectral analyses suggested that Ce（TPP）nO3 could interact with nO to form a novel complex of Ce（TPP）（nO）nO3, and nO was coordinated to the center cerium ion. When nitrogen was poured into the Ce（TPP）（nO）（nO3） solution, the complex could be reduced to Ce（TPP）nO3.

Modeling the austenite-ferrite transformation in microalloyed steel P510L

Based on experimental results, the transformation kinetics and cooling characteristics of low-carbon steel were analyzed and modeled to quantitatively link the operational parameters of a process with the properties. From the continuous cooling transformation results, comparis.ns of the start temperature of austenite-ferrite transformation among three models were analyzed, and the optimal lnk and n, which are the parameters in the Avrami equation, were determined by applying two regression models at different cooling rates. The transformation kinetics during continuous cooling was determined. Furthermore, reas.nable agreements between experimental results and predictions were obtained, which can demonstrate the rationality of the established models.

nOx emissions cause many negative impacts on the living *** photocatalysis of semiconductors is superior for nitric oxide(nO)degradation due to their low redox *** this report,we combine snO_(2-x)/g-C_(3)n_(4)heterojunction photocatalyst toward the high selectivity into green products under visible light *** show that snO_(2-x)/g-C_(3)n_(4)heterojunction degraded 40.8%of nO,which is 1.6 times higher than that of g-C_(3)n_(4).In addition,the selectivity coefficient of snO_(2-x)/g-C_(3)n_(4)is higher 3 times than both pure snO_(2-x)and g-C_(3)n_(4).Furthermore,snO_(2-x)/g-C_(3)n_(4)expresses a superior stability for nO photocatalytic-degradation after five *** scavenger trapping test results,and electron spin res.nance(EsR)analysis also provide more understanding of the charge transfer mechanism of ***_(2-x)/g-C_(3)n_(4)heterojunction shows a high removal efficiency of nO gas,making it an up-and-coming environmental treatment candidate.

Water infiltration into soil is an important process in hydrologic cycle;however,its measurement is difficult,time-consuming and *** and physical models have been developed to predict cumulative infiltration(CI),but are often *** this study,several novel standalone machine learning algorithms(M5Prime(M5P),decision stump(Ds),and sequential minimal optimization(sMO))and hybrid algorithms based on additive regression(AR)(i.e.,AR-M5P,AR-Ds,and AR-sMO)and weighted instance handler wrapper(WIHW)(i.e.,WIHW-M5P,WIHW-Ds,and WIHW-sMO)were developed for CI *** soil Conservation service(sCs)model developed by the United states Department of Agriculture(UsDA),one of the most popular empirical models to predict CI,was considered as a ***,154 measurements of CI(explanatory/input variables)were taken from 16 sites in a semi-arid region of Iran(Illam and Lorestan provinces).six input variable combinations were considered based on Pears.n correlations between candidate model inputs(time of measuring and soil bulk density,moisture content,and s.nd,clay,and silt percentages)and *** dataset was divided into two subgroups at random:70%of the data were used for model building(training dataset)and the remaining 30%were used for model validation(testing dataset).The various models were evaluated us.ng different graphical approaches(bar charts,scatter plots,violin plots,and Taylor diagrams)and quantitative measures(root mean square error(RMsE),mean absolute error(MAE),nash-sutcliffe efficiency(nsE),and percent bias(PBIAs)).Time of measuring had the highest correlation with CI in the study *** best input combinations were different for different *** results showed that all hybrid algorithms enhanced the CI prediction accuracy compared to the standalone *** AR-M5P model provided the most accurate CI predictions(RMsE=0.75 cm,MAE=0.59 cm,nsE=0.98),while the sCs model had the lowest performance(RMsE=4.77 cm,MAE=2.64 cm,nsE=
