Passive daytime radiative cooling(PDRC)technology is emerging as one of the most promising solutions to the global problem of spacing cooling,but its practical application is limited due to reduced cooling effectiveness caused by daily wear and tear,as well as dirt *** tackle this problem,we report a novel strategy by introducing a renewable armor structure for prolonging the anti-fouling and cooling effectiveness properties of the PDRC *** armor structure is designed by decorating fluorinated hollow glass microspheres(HGM)inside rigid resin composite *** HGM serve triple purposes,including providing isolated cavities for enhanced solar reflectance,reinforcing the matrices to form robust armored structures,and increasing thermal *** the coatings are worn,the HGM on the surface expose their concave cavities with numerous hydrophobic fragments,generating a highly rough surface that guarantee the superhydrophobic *** coatings show a high sunlight reflectance(0.93)and thermal emittance(0.94)in the long-wave infrared window,leading to a cooling of 5℃ below ambient temperature under high solar flux(∼900 W/m^(2)).When anti-fouling functions are reduced,they can be regenerated more than 100 cycles without compromising the PDRC function by simple wearing ***,these coatings can be easily prepared using a one-pot spray method with low-cost materials,exhibit strong adhesion to a variety of substrates,and demonstrate exceptional environmental ***,we anticipate their immediate application opportunities for spacing cooling.

In recent years,the issue of aircraft icing has gained widespread *** breaking and detachment of dynamic ice can pose a threat to flight ***,the shedding and fracture mechanisms of dynamic ice are unclear and cannot meet the engineering needs of ice-shedding hazard ***,studying the fracture toughness of ice bodies has extremely important practical *** address this issue,this article uses a centrally cracked Brazilian disk(CCBD)specimen to measure the pure modeⅠtoughness and pure modeⅡfracture toughness of freshwater ice at different loading *** mixed-mode(Ⅰ–Ⅱ)fracture characteristics of ice are discussed,and the experimental results are compared and analyzed with the theoretical values of the generalized maximum tangential stress(GMTS)criterion considering the influence of *** results indicated that as the loading rate increases,the pure modeⅠtoughness and pure modeⅡfracture toughness of freshwater ice decrease,and the fracture toughness of freshwater ice is more sensitive to the loading rate.Ⅰn terms of fracture criteria,the theoretical value of the ratio of pure modeⅡfracture toughness to pure modeⅠfracture toughness based on the GMTS criterion is in good agreement with the experimental value,while the theoretical value based on the maximum tangential stress(MTS)criterion deviates significantly from the experimental value,indicating that the GMTS criterion considering the influence of T-stress can better predict the experimental results.

Stem cell-based therapies have been proposed as a potential treatment for neural regeneration following closed head *** previously reported that induced neural stem cells exert beneficial effects on neural regeneration via cell ***,the neural regeneration efficiency of induced neural stem cells remains *** this study,we explored differentially expressed genes and long non-coding RNAs to clarify the mechanism underlying the neurogenesis of induced neural stem *** found that H19 was the most downregulated neurogenesis-associated lnc RNA in induced neural stem cells compared with induced pluripotent stem ***,we demonstrated that H19 levels in induced neural stem cells were markedly lower than those in induced pluripotent stem cells and were substantially higher than those in induced neural stem cell-derived *** predicted the target genes of H19 and discovered that H19 directly interacts with mi R-325-3p,which directly interacts with Ctbp2 in induced pluripotent stem cells and induced neural stem *** H19 or Ctbp2 impaired induced neural stem cell proliferation,and mi R-325-3p suppression restored the effect of H19 inhibition but not the effect of Ctbp2 ***,H19 silencing substantially promoted the neural differentiation of induced neural stem cells and did not induce apoptosis of induced neural stem ***,silencing H19 in induced neural stem cell grafts markedly accelerated the neurological recovery of closed head injury *** results reveal that H19 regulates the neurogenesis of induced neural stem cells.H19 inhibition may promote the neural differentiation of induced neural stem cells,which is closely associated with neurological recovery following closed head injury.

To the Editor:Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)is a global public health challenge without effective treatment currently available,affecting>300 million individuals *** understanding the pathogenesis of this disease is ***,ferroptosis,a form of cell death driven by iron-dependent lipid peroxidation,has been associated with the pathogenesis of COPD.[1]Multiple signaling pathways,such as glutathione peroxidase 4(GPX4),ferroptosis suppressor protein 1(FSP1),and tetrahydrobiopterin-dependent pathways,as well as iron metabolism,are involved in regulating ferroptosis[2,3][Figure 1A].Here,we provide a comprehensive overview of recent advances in understanding the role of ferroptosis in COPD,highlighting potential therapeutic strategies targeting ferroptosis for treating the disease.

Twin curved tunnels are often encountered in shield tunnelling,where significant complexities in densely exploited underground space are *** this study,the ground settlement and tunnel deformation due to twin-curved shield tunnelling in soft ground were investigated using numerical simulation and field *** curvature radii of twin curved tunnels and subsequent effects of tunnel construction were considered to reveal the tunnelling effect on ground surface settlement and tunnel *** results show that the settlement trough yields one offset towards inside of curved shield *** location of settlement trough and maximum settlement were affected by curvature radius but except for the shape and width of settlement *** parallel twin-curved shield tunnelling could increase the offset of existing settlement trough and maximum ***,an empirical prediction of surface settlement trough due to twin-curved shield tunnelling with same tunnel diameters in soft clay was proposed,which was applicable to curvature radius less than 800 ***,a minimum radius of 600 m of curvature tunnel was proposed in terms of allowable convergence deformation of *** result could provide guidance on safety evaluation for twin curved shield tunnelling construction.

With the loss of substantial natural wetlands in coastal zones,artificial wetlands provide alternative habitats for many *** management of artificial wetlands used by shorebirds plays an important role in maintaining the stability of shorebird *** tracking technique can obtain high-precision location information of individuals day and night,providing a good technical support for the study of quantitative relationship between waterfowls and their *** this study,satellite tracking method,Remote Sensing(RS)and Geographic Information System(GIS)technology were used to analyze the activity pattern and habitat utilization characteristics of Pied Avocet during breeding period in an artificial wetland complex in the Yellow River Delta(YRD),*** results showed that the breeding Pied Avocets had a small range of activity,with a total core and main home range of 33.10 km^(2) and 216.30 km^(2),*** species tended to forage in the pond and salt pan during the day and night,respectively,with an unfixed staying time in the breeding *** distance between breeding ground and feeding ground was less than 6 *** is emphasized that in addition to improving the conditions of the remaining natural habitats,effective managing artificial habitats is a priority for shorebird *** research could provide reference for the management of artificial wetlands in coastal zones and supply technique support for the protection of shorebirds and their habitats,and alleviate human-bird conflicts and sustainable development of coastal zones.

In this work,the underlying mechanism responsible for the near-linear elastic deformation behavior of a dual-phase Ti-Nb alloy consisting of β and α'' phase with large recoverable strain was systematically *** on in situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction(SXRD)analyses,it was found that besides intrinsic elastic deformation,a slight reversible β-α'' stress-induced martensitic(SIM)transformation,which proceeded in a consecutive mode under the retarding effect of micro-defects,took place during the near-linear elastic *** unloading,a small amount of residual macroscopic strain remained in the specimen due to the incomplete reverse α''→β transformation on *** high near-linear elastic deformability of the cold drawing(CD)Ti-Nb alloy has been revealed to be attributed to the coupling actions of intrinsic elasticity as well as the consecutive and reversible β-α'' SIM *** research may contribute to a new avenue for the design and development of novel dual-phase Ti-based alloys with desirable elastic deformability.

Effects of maternal methyl donor intake during pregnancy on ileum methylation and function in an intrauterine growth restriction pig model

Background Intrauterine growth retardation(IUGR)affects intestinal growth,morphology,and function,which leads to poor growth performance and high *** present study explored whether maternal dietary methyl donor(MET)supplementation alleviates IUGR and enhances offspring’s growth performance by improving intestinal growth,function,and DNA methylation of the ileum in a porcine IUGR *** Forty multiparous sows were allocated to the control or MET diet groups from mating until *** farrowing,8 pairs of IUGR and normal birth weight piglets from 8 litters were selected for sampling before suckling *** The results showed that maternal MET supplementation tended to decrease the IUGR incidence and increased the average weaning weight of ***,maternal MET supplementation significantly reduced the plasma concentrations of isoleucine,cysteine,urea,and total amino acids in sows and newborn *** also increased lactase and sucrase activity in the jejunum of newborn *** addition resulted in lower ileal methionine synthase activity and increased betaine homocysteine S-methyltransferase activity in the ileum of newborn *** methylation analysis of the ileum showed that MET supplementation increased the methyla-tion level of DNA CpG sites in the ileum of newborn ***-regulated differentially methylated genes were enriche. in folic acid binding,insulin receptor signaling pathway,and endothelial cell *** contrast,up-regulated methylated genes were enriche. in growth hormone receptor signaling pathway and nitric oxide biosyn-thetic *** Maternal MET supplementation can reduce the incidence of IUGR and increase the weaning litter weight of piglets,which may be associated with better intestinal function and methylation status.
