Facial synkinesis is a troublesome sequelae of facial nerve *** is difficult to recover from synkinesis,despite improved surgical techniques for isolating the peripheral facial nerve ***,it remains unclear whether long-term dysfunction of motor control can lead to irreversible plasticity-induced structural brain *** case-control study thus investigated the structural brain alterations associated with facial *** study was conducted at Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital,Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine,*** patients with facial synkinesis(2 male and 18 female,aged 33.35±6.97 years)and 19 healthy volunteers(2 male and 17 female,aged 33.21±6.75 years)underwent magnetic resonance imaging,and voxel-based and surface-based morphometry techniques were used to analyze *** was no significant difference in brain volume between patients with facial synkinesis and healthy *** with facial synkinesis exhibited a significantly reduced cortical thickness in the contralateral superior and inferior temporal gyri and a reduced sulcal depth of the ipsilateral precuneus compared with healthy *** addition,sulcal depth of the ipsilateral precuneus was negatively correlated with the severity of *** findings suggest that there is a structural remodeling of gray matter in patients with facial synkinesis after facial nerve *** study was approved by the Ethics Review Committee of the Ninth People’s Hospital,Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine,China(approval No.2017-365-T267)on September 13,2017,and was registered with the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry(registration number:ChiCTR1800014630)on January 25,2018.

Taking Fe-0.15wt%C-0.8wt%Mn steel as the research object, in situ observations of the 8 phase growth process during solidifica- tion were conducted by using a high-temperature confocal scanning laser microscope （HTCSLM）. The effects of the solid/liquid （S/L） inter- face＇s shape, temperature, and curvature radius on the lateral growth rate of 6 phase were investigated in detail, and the relational expression among the lateral growth rate of 5 phase, temperature, and curvature radius of column-shaped ~ phase was deduced for the carbon steel dur- ing solidificatiorL The results indicate the growth rate of the concave-shaped S/L interface is larger than that of the convex-shaped S/L inter- face during the beginning growth of ~ phase, but these two kinds of growth rates gradually approach with proceeding in solidification. The calculated lateral growth rate of 6 phase is consistent with the experimental result at a cooling rate of 0.045℃/s.

Codoping with M^(n+) ions (M^(n+)=Li^(+),Mn^(2+) and Cu^(2+)) enhanced the blue and red upconversion (UC)emissions in TiO_(2):Yb^(3+)/Tm^(3+) nanocrystals under 980 nm *** different effects of Li^(+),Mn^(2+) and Cu^(2+) ions on the phase structures,morphologies and optical characteristics of TiO_(2):Yb^(3+)/Tm^(3+)were *** minor shifting in the diffraction peaks at 25.2°was observed for TiO_(2):Yb^(3+)/Tm^(3+)/Li^(+),and adding Mn^(2+) ions remained almost the same position of diffraction peaks,while the introduction of Cu^(2+) ions resulted in the shift of the diffraction peaks towards the larger ***_(2):Yb^(3+)/Tm^(3+)/Li^(+)and TiO_(2):Yb^(3+)/Tm^(3+)/Mn^(2+) nanosheets and the sphere-like TiO_(2):Yb^(3+)/Tm^(3+)/Cu^(2+) were *** mechanisms for increased UC emissions caused by adding Li^(+),Mn^(2+) and Cu^(2+) ions were attributed to the tailored local environment around Tm^(3+) ions,efficient energy transition between Mn^(2+) -Yb^(3+) dimer and Tm^(3+) ions,and the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) of Cu^(2+) ions,respectively.

The Asia-Pacific(AP)region has experienced faster warming than the global average in recent decades and has experienced more climate extremes,however little is known about the response of vegetation growth to these *** updated Global Inventory Modeling and Mapping Studies third-generation global satellite Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer Normalized Difference Vegetation Index dataset and gridded reanalysis climate data were used to investigate the spatiotemporal changes in both trends of vegetation dynamic indicators and climatic *** then further analyzed their relations associated with land cover across the AP *** main findings are threefold:(1)at continental scales the AP region overall experienced a gradual and significant increasing trend in vegetation growth during the last three decades,and this NDVI trend corresponded with an insignificant increasing trend in temperature;(2)vegetation growth was negatively and significantly correlated with the Pacific Decadal Oscillation index and the El Niño/Southern Oscillation(ENSO)in AP;and(3)at pixel scales,except for Australia,both vegetation growth and air temperature significantly increased in the majority of study regions and vegetation growth spatially correlated with temperature;In Australia and other water-limited regions vegetation growth positively correlated with precipitation.

Most of TiO_(2) particles can be used as a photocatalyst for the selective oxidation of cyclohexane under ultraviolet light *** this paper,Ti^(3+) self-doped TiO_(2) submicron-sized particles(i.e.,Ti^(3+)/TiO_(2) SMP)were used as a catalyst for visible-light driven photocatalytic cyclohexane *** microstructure and properties of the Ti^(3+)/TiO_(2) SMP were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD),UVevisible diffuse reflection(UVeVis DRS),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR),solid-state photoluminescence spectroscopy(PLS)and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).The Ti^(3+)/TiO_(2) SMP exhibits good visible-light driven photocatalytic performances for cyclohexane oxidation with cyclohexanone as a dominate *** of solvent,reaction temperature,reaction time and oxygen pressure on the formation of cyclohexanone were *** cyclohexane oxidation over the Ti^(3+)/TiO_(2) SMP photocatalyst using carbon tetrachloride as a solvent under the optimal conditions presents a greater selectivity to cyclohexane(i.e.,95.1%).Based on the controlled experimental results with different radical scavengers,the hole(h^(+))is critical for the activation of cyclohexane.

Herein we report a high-gain signal-on poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate)(PEDOT:PSS)organic electrochemical transistor(OECT)biosensing using an accumulation-mode PEDOT:PSS OECT modulated by a light-fueled MXene/MOFs/Ni O Schottky *** such a system,the MXene/MOFs/Ni O Schottky heterojunction exhibited superior gating effect,as it not only enabled the fast-directional charge transfer but also guaranteed the maximal accessibility of the electrolyte to topped 2D MXene with large surface *** linkage with a bi-enzyme cascade system,the quinone derivatives produced by the cascade reaction of alkaline phosphatase(ALP)and tyrosinase(TYR)could serve as effective electron acceptors for the representative Ti_(3)C_(2)/PCN-224/Ni O heterojunction,underpinning an innovative method for sensitive detection of ALP activity with a low detection limit of 0.001 U L^(-1).Remarkably,the as-developed system demonstrated a remarkable current gain as high as near 10^(4),which to our knowledge is the highest one among existing OECT biosensory *** work represents a generic protocol to develop the novel signal-on PEDOT:PSS OECT platform towards biochemical detection and beyond.

The Swift/XRT light curve of the ultraluminous X-ray source NGC 5408 X-1 was re-analyzed with two new numerical approaches, the Weighted Wavelet Ztransform and CLEANest, and the results are different from previous studies. Both techniques detected a prominent periodicity with a time scale of 115.5 ± 1.5 days, in excellent agreement with the detection of the same periodicity first reported by Strohmayer . Monte Carlo simulations were employed to test the statisitical confidence of the 115.5-day periodicity, yielding a statistical significance of 〉 99.98% （or 〉 3.8σ）. The robust detection of the 115.5-day quasi-periodic oscillations, if they are due to the orbital motion of the binary, would infer a mass of a few thousand M⊙ for the central black hole, implying there is an intermediate-mass black hole in NGC 5408 X-1.

A soluble poly（meta-phenylene） derivative with rigid twisted biphenyl unit was synthesized by the Yamamoto coupling reaction. The polymer is soluble in common organic solvents, and the number-average molecular weight is about 6500. The UV-Vis and quantum chemical calculation indicate that the different conformation segments named ＂conformers＂ exist in the polymer backbones; it was also further confirmed by the single crystal X-ray diffraction study of the dimeric model compound. The π-π^＊ transition of biphenyl segments of twisted and planar conformations made the polymer exhibit a strong absorption around 256 nm and a weak absorption at about 300 nm. Furthermore, the polymer exhibits a strong UV photoluminescence at 372 nm when the excitation wavelengths are longer than 300 run. The ultraviolet-emitting electroluminescence（EL） device with the single layer structure shows EL λmax of the derivative at 370 nm.

The tribological behaviour of Ti-30Zr, Ti-20Zr-10Nb and Ti-19Zr-10Nb-1Fe alloys was investigated using reciprocating friction and wear tests. X-ray diffraction（XRD） results indicate that Ti-30Zr, Ti-20Zr-10Nb and Ti-19Zr-10Nb-1Fe alloys are composed of hexagonal a＇-martensite, orthorhombic a＇＇-martensite and bcc β phases,respectively. Ti-30Zr alloy has the highest hardness of HV（273.1 ± 9.3）, while Ti-20Zr-10Nb alloy exhibits the lowest hardness of HV（235.2 ± 20.4） among all the *** tribological results indicate that Ti-30Zr alloy shows the best wear resistance among these alloys, corresponding to the minimum average friction coefficient of 0.052 and the lowest wear rate of 6.4x10^-4mm3·N^-1·m^-1. Ti-20Zr-10Nb alloy displays better wear resistance than Ti-19Zr-10Nb-1Fe alloy, because the iron oxide is easy to fall off and less Nb2O5 films form on the worn surface of the *** and abrasive wear in association with adhesive wear are the main wear mechanism of these alloys.
