To enhance the performance and widespread use of solid oxide fuel cells(SOFCs),addressing the low-temperature(gen ion mobility and electrochemical performance of perovskite oxide by substituting some oxygen sites with chlorine *** designed SrTa_(0.1)fe_(0.9)O_(3-δ-x)Clx(x=0.05 and 0.10)exhibits improved performance compared to SrTa_(0.1)fe_(0.9)O_(3-δ)(STF).SrTa_(0.1)fe_(0.9)O_(2.95-δ)Cl_(0.05)(STFCl0.05)shows the lowest area-specific resistance(ASR)value on Sm0.2Ce0.8O1.9(SDC)*** 600℃,STFCl0.05 achieves an ASR value of 0.084Ω·cm^(2),and a single cell with STFCl0.05 reaches a higher peak power density(PPD)value(1143 mW·cm^(-2))than that with STF(672 mW·cm^(-2)).Additionally,besides exhibiting excellent oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)activity at lower temperatures,the STFCl0.05 cathode demonstrates good CO_(2)tolerance and operational *** cell operation lasts for 150 h,and single cell operation endures for 720 h without significant performance *** chlorine doping approach effectively enhances ORR activity and stability,making STFCl0.05 a promising cathode material for low-temperature SOFCs.

Regulating atomic fe-Rh site distance for efficient oxygen reduction reaction

Exploring the atomic interaction mechanisms of dense single-atom catalysts(SACs)is of great significance for their application in oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).However,the intrinsic mechanism of the site-distance effect on the catalytic performance has been largely ***,we demonstrate the site-distance effect of fe-Rh_(x)@NC catalysts in ORR theoretically and *** charge analysis reveals that the strong interaction between fe and Rh atoms at a certain atomic distance(dfe-Rh)alters the catalytic electronic structure,facilitating the optimization of catalyst adsorption *** by the theoretical calculations,we designed and synthesized the fe-Rhx@NC catalysts through a spatial confinement *** characterization results prove that the fe-Rh_(2)@NC has the optimal d_(fe-Rh),which improves its intrinsic ORR activity,providing a half wave potential of 0.91 V,higher than that of the commercial Pt/C(0.86 V).This study emphasizes the importance of determining the basic mechanism of the site-distance effect in dissimilar metal atoms catalysts,which is conducive to the design of efficient catalyst systems for practical applications.

Removal of Microcystin-LR in lake water sample by hydrophilic mesoporous silica composites under high-throughput MALDI-TOF MS detection platform

Soaring bird migration often relies on suitable terrain and airflow;therefore,route selection is vital for successful *** age and experience have been identified as key factor influencing migration route selection among soaring raptors in the African-Eurasian Flyway,how they shape the migration route of soaring raptors in East Asia is still largely *** this study,we investigated potential variations in the routes and timing in autumn migration of juvenile and older soaring birds,using count data of greater Spotted Eagles(Clanga clanga)from two coastal sites and two inland sites in *** 2020 to 2023,we recorded a total of 340 individuals,with the highest site averaging over 90 individuals per autumn,making it one of the world’s top single-season counts and thus a globally important site for this *** found that 82% and 61% records from coastal sites were juveniles,significantly higher than inland sites(15% and 24%).Juveniles at all four sites exhibited markedly earlier median passage time than non-juveniles,with brief overlapping in their main migration *** coastal sites are located on the tip of peninsulas stretching southwest,requiring long overwater flights if crossing the Bohai Bay or Beibu gulf,which would be energetically demanding and increase mortality *** individuals may have learned to avoid such terrain and subsequent detour,while juveniles are more prone to enter these peninsulas due to lack of experience and opportunities for social learning,or following other raptor species that are more capable of powered *** findings highlight the importance of age and experience in migration route selection of large soaring birds.

Soft magnetic composites(SMCs)are effective as magnetic powder cores in an *** to high saturation magnetization,large magnetocrystalline anisotropy and high operating frequency of M(metal)-RE(rear earth)soft magnetic composites,it is possible to miniaturize inductor cores by reducing total loss,especially eddy current loss and excess loss at high *** this article,the characteristics of Ce_(2)fe_(17)N_(3)/α-fe(CFN/F)loss per volume and effective permeability reaching a high frequency of 3 MHz are *** biphase CFN/F composite exhibits a high permeability of 16 at 70 MHz,which is two times greater than that of pure Ce_(2)fe_(17)N_(3)(CFN)*** total loss is as low as 545 mW/cm^(3)at 3 MHz and 6 *** direct current(DC)-bias properties have a percent of permeability exceeding 65% at H=7960 A/*** phenomenon indicates that our material has a higher working frequency and lower core loss than other materials;the biphase CFN/F structure is a promising and efficient approach for developing the miniaturized radio frequency(RF)inductor core.

Organo-chromium(III)complex is one of the chromium contaminant species,which would transform to high-toxic Cr(VI)during migrating in the *** natural organo-chromium(III)(NOCr)is difficult to remove by traditional degradation or precipitation methods,due to its high stability and ***,we demonstrated a novel NOCr removing method by transforming it to certain structures similar to Cr-fe minerals in nature,through a self-circulating decomplex and immobilization mechanism with nano zero-valent iron(nZVI).Taking chromium glycinate(Cr-gly)as a probe,nZVI showed a high Cr removal efficiency of 99.4%under ambient *** removal process included three stages of adsorption,decomplexation,and ***-gly was first adsorbed on the surface of nZVI by chemisorption of the oxide ***,the adsorbed Cr-gly was decomplexed and oxidized to Cr(VI)by·OH and 1O_(2),which were generated from molecular oxygen activated by ***,the released Cr(VI)could be in-situ adsorbed and re-reduced to Cr(III),which was further immobilized in form of Cr-O-fe *** the Cr-O-fe complexing structure was similar to that of Cr-fe minerals(such as chromohercynite)in nature,this work explored a novel and efficient NOCr removing method that was potential to weaken chromium pollution in the environment.

Carbon-based nanomaterials cause toxicity by oxidative stress to the liver and brain in Sprague-Dawley rats

Carbon-based nanomaterials have important research significance in various disciplines,such as composite materials,nanoelectronic devices,biosensors,biological imaging,and drug ***,the human and ecological risks associated with carbon-based nanomaterials have received increasing ***,the biological safety of carbon based nanomaterials has not been systematically *** this study,we used different types of carbon materials,namely,graphene oxide(gO),single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWCNTs),and multiwalled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs),as models to observe their distribution and oxidative damage in *** results of Histopathological and ultrastructural examinations indicated that the liver and lungs were the main accumulation targets of these ***-μ-XRF analysis revealed that SWCNTs and MWCNTs might be present in the *** shows that the three types of carbon-based nanomaterials could cross the gas-blood barrier and eventually reach the liver *** addition,SWCNTs and MWCNTs could cross the blood-brain barrier and accumulate in the cerebral *** increase in ROS and MDA levels and the decrease in gSH,SOD,and CAT levels indicated that the three types of nanomaterials might cause oxidative stress in the *** suggests that direct instillation of these carbon-based nanomaterials into rats could induce ROS *** addition,iron(fe)contaminants in these nanomaterials were a definite source of free ***,these nanomaterials did not cause obvious damage to the rat brain *** deposition of selenoprotein in the rat brain was found to be related to oxidative stress and fe *** information may support the development of secure and reasonable applications of the studied carbon-based nanomaterials.

Impurity formation mechanism of silicon carbide crystals smelted by Acheson process

In order to further promote the application of SiC refractories in modern steel metallurgy,the occurrence forms and formation mechanism of impurities in SiC crystals smelted by Acheson process were *** techniques of inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry,X-ray diffraction,and scanning electron microscopy were combined to examine the types and occurrence forms of impurities in smelted SiC *** results showed that the main impurities in the SiC are free Si,free C,oxides(CaO·Al_(2)O_(3)·2SiO_(2),3Al_(2)O_(3)·2SiO_(2),CaO·SiO_(2) and SiO_(2))and alloy phases(fe_(x)Si_(y),fe_(x)Si_(y)Ti_(z) and fe_(x)Al_(y)Si_(z)).The formation process of impurities during the smelting of SiC can be described as follows:At high temperature,the SiO_(2) and fe,Ti related oxide impurities present in the raw materials are reduced to Si,fe,and Ti metal *** the reduction process,the free Si,fe_(x)Si_(y) and fe_(x)Si_(y)Ti_(z) are precipitated from the melt during *** Si primarily exists in aggregated form within the SiC crystal,while the alloy phase is predominantly found at the interface between SiC and free Si,with fe_(x)Si_(y)Ti_(z) embedded within *** the end of the cooling process,other impurity oxides such as Al_(2)O_(3),CaO,and some unreduced SiO_(2) solidify to form calcium-aluminum-silicate glass phases,predominantly located between SiC *** remaining C from the reaction is mainly dispersed as free C within the SiC crystal and at the interface between SiC and free Si.
