Automatic Digital Orthophoto Map(DOM)generation plays an important role in many downstream works such as land use and cover detection,urban planning,and disaster *** DOM generation methods can generate promising results but always need ground object filtered DEM generation before otho-rectification;this can consume much time and produce building facade contained *** address this problem,a pixel-by-pixel digital differential rectification-based automatic DOM generation method is proposed in this ***,3D point clouds with texture are generated by dense image matching based on an optical flow field for a stereo pair of images,***,the grayscale of the digital differential rectification image is extracted directly from the point clouds element by element according to the nearest neighbor method for matched ***,the elevation is repaired grid-by-grid using the multi-layer Locally Refined B-spline(LR-B)interpolation method with triangular mesh constraint for the point clouds void area,and the grayscale is obtained by the indirect scheme of digital differential rectification to generate the pixel-by-pixel digital differentially rectified image of a single image ***,a seamline network is automatically searched using a disparity map optimization algorithm,and DOM is smartly *** qualitative and quantitative experimental results on three datasets were produced and evaluated,which confirmed the feasibility of the proposed method,and the DOM accuracy can reach 1 Ground Sample Distance(GSD)*** comparison experiment with the state-of-the-art commercial softwares showed that the proposed method generated DOM has a better visual effect on building boundaries and roof completeness with comparable accuracy and computational efficiency.

The RPC model has recently raised considerable interest in the photogrammetry and remote sensing community. The RPC is a generalized sensor model that is capable of achieving high approximation accuracy. Unfortunately, the computation of the parameters of RPC model is subject to the initial of the parameter in all available literature. An algorithm for computation of parameters of RPC model without initial value is presented and tested on SPOT-5, CBERS-2, ERSq imageries. RPC model is suitable for both push-broom and SAR imagery.

The position and orientation of moving platform mainly depends on global positioning system and inertial navigation system in the field of low-altitude surveying,mapping and remote sensing and land-based mobile mapping ***,GPS signal is unavailable in the application of deep space exploration and indoor robot *** such circumstances,image-based methods are very important for self-position and orientation of moving ***,this paper firstly introduces state of the art development of the image-based self-position and orientation method(ISPOM) for moving platform from the following aspects:1) A comparison among major image-based methods(i.e.,visual odometry,structure from motion,simultaneous localization and mapping) for position and orientation;2) types of moving platform;3) integration schemes of image sensor with other sensors;4) calculation methodology and quantity of image ***,the paper proposes a new scheme of ISPOM for mobile robot-depending merely on image *** takes the advantages of both monocular vision and stereo vision,and estimates the relative position and orientation of moving platform with high precision and high *** a word,ISPOM will gradually speed from research to application,as well as play a vital role in deep space exploration and indoor robot control.

In conventional aerial photogrammetry, the high accurate photogrammetric point determination is always carried out by aerotriangulation using a great deal of ground control points around the perimeter and in the center of block area because the exterior orien- tation parameters of aerial photographs are unknown. A technological revolution in pho- togrammetry has taken place since Navstar global positioning system (GPS) was applied to determine the 3D coordinates of exposure station positions during the photo flight missions. GPS-supported aerotriangulation is conducted by a combined bundle adjustment for pho- togrammetric observations and the camera orientation data. In this case, the essential ground control points are replaced by GPS-determined camera positions. Recent investigations show this method is coming to the practice. We have been engaged in the theoretical studies, soft- ware development, and related experiments and production in the field since 1990. So far the abundant research achievements are obtained in terms of the theory and application. In this paper,we first derives the mathematical model of GPS-supported aerotriangulation from the geometry between camera and airborne GPS antenna, then describes briefly a software pack- age WuCAPS (Wuhan combined adjustment program system) developed newly by the au- thor,which serves the purpose of the combined bundle adjustment for photogrammetric and non-photogrammetric observations. At the end of the present work, a set of actual aerial pho- tographs,at the image scale of 1: 34 000, with airborne GPS data taken from Tianjing site, China were processed by WuCAPS. The empirical results have verified that the accuracy of the combined bundle adjustment with 4 XYZ ground control points around the corners of block area is very close to that of the conventional bundle adjustment with 3 additional pa- rameters, that leads to reduce 88% field survey and 75% production cost, and can meet the specification of topographi

Data obtained via airborne position and orientation system （POS） is in WGS 84 global geocentric reference frame, while the national coordinate reference system for topographic mapping in China is generally Gauss-Kruger projection coordinate system. Therefore, data obtained via a POS must be transformed to national coordinate system. Owing to the effects of earth curvature and me- ridian deviation, there are some errors in the process of angle transformation from roll, pitch, and heading （φ,θ,ψ） obtained directly via a POS to the attitude angles of images （φ,ω,κ） needed in photogrammetry. On the basis of effect theories of earth curvature and meridian deviation on exterior orientation angular elements of images, a method using a compensation matrix to correct the transformation errors from attitude angles obtained via the POS to exterior orientation angular elements of images is proposed in this paper. Moreover, the rigorous formula of the compensation matrix is deduced. Two sets of actual data obtained via a POS AV 510, which are different in scale and terrain, are selected and used to perform experiments. The empirical results not only indicate that the compensation matrix proposed in this paper is correct and practical but also show that transformation accuracy of exterior orientation angular elements obtained via the POS based on compensation matrix is relevant to the selection of vertical axis （a projection of central meridian） of Gauss-Kruger projection coordinate system; the proper vertical axis should be the Gauss-Kruger projection of the central meridian of projection zone in which the survey area locates. However, the transformation accuracy of exterior orientation angular elements is irrelevant to the choice of origin of coordinate system; it is appropriate that the origin of coordinate system locates at the center point of the survey area. A novel method is introduced for self-calibration and elimination of systematic errors for a position and orientation system (POS). The method uses a combined bundle block adjustment with POS data (named the POS-supported bundle block adjustment) without a calibration field. On the basis of delivering strict observation equations for POS data, the specific scheme of compensating the translation and drift systematic errors in a POS is given, and a prototype system WuCAPS is developed. The effects of eliminating POS systematic errors using the POS-supported bundle block adjustment for different ground control conditions are tested using two sets of actual aerial photos. The first set was taken over a flat region in the suburbs of the city of Yingkou in China and tested at a scale of 1:2500. The second set was taken over a high mountainous region in the desert region of Xinjiang in China and tested at a scale of 1:32,000. The empirical results verified that the POS systematic errors can be completely eliminated and the photo elements of exterior orientation obtained by the POS-supported bundle block adjustment can satisfy the requirements of aerial photogrammetric topographic mapping when four full ground control points (GCPs) are emplaced in the corners of the adjustment block for large-scale images of flat regions, but only one full GCP emplaced in the center of the adjustment block is needed for medium-small scale images of mountainous regions. This not only demonstrates the validity of the established mathematical model and the feasibility of the method proposed in this paper, but also avoids the use of a special calibration field. Therefore, it can simplify the existing POS operation rules and dramatically save on practical application costs, laying the theoretical foundation for widespread use of POS.

A novel method for multi-image matching by synthesizing image and object-space information is proposed. Firstly, four levels of image pyramids are generated according to the rule that the next pyramid level is generated from the previous level using the average gray values of the 3 by 3 pixels, and the first level of pyramid image is generated from the original image. The initial horizontal parallaxes between the reference image and each searching image are calculated at the highest level of the image pyramid. Secondly, corresponding image points are searched in each stereo image pair from the third level of image pyramid, and the matching results in all stereo pairs are integrated in the object space, by which the mismatched image points can be eliminated and more accurate spatial information can be obtained for the subsequent pyramid image matching. The matching method based on correlation coefficient with geometric constraints and global relaxation matching is introduced in the process of image matching. Finally, the feasibility of the method proposed in this paper is verified by the experiments using a set of digital frame aerial images with big overlap. Compared with the traditional image matching method with two images, the accuracy of the digital surface model (DSM) generated using the proposed method shows that the multiimage matching method can eliminate the mismatched points effectively and can improve the matching success rate significantly.

提出一种利用POS提供的影像定向参数辅助区域航空摄影测量中航带间影像自动转点方法。首先,对航带内影像采用金字塔影像匹配策略寻求同名像点,以获得航向间影像连接点的精确像片坐标;然后利用POS提供的影像定向参数预测航带间的影像连接点。再通过对相邻航线间待匹配窗口影像的几何变形改正,在由POS数据辅助建立的核线几何条件约束下,直接在原始影像上找寻同名像点;最后经最小二乘匹配使影像匹配结果达到子像素级精度。试验表明,将POS数据引入航带间的影像自动转点中,不但可以简化影像匹配过程、提高自动化水平,而且较常规影像匹配方法可以提高航带间自动转点的成功率34.0%,并节省76.7%的CPU耗时。

提出一种综合利用像方和物方信息的多影像匹配方法。首先对各原始影像采用3×3像元平均法生成4层金字塔影像,并在最高层金字塔影像中计算各搜索影像与基准影像的初始视差;然后从第3层金字塔影像开始进行基准影像与各搜索影像的匹配,并对各立体像对的匹配结果进行物方融合,剔除部分误匹配点,获得较精确的物方空间信息,以用于下一层金字塔影像的匹配。此过程融入带几何约束条件的相关系数法匹配和整体松弛法匹配策略;最后通过对某地区一组大重叠度数码航空影像的匹配试验,证实该方法的有效性。通过检测所生成的DSM精度,表明相对于传统的双片影像匹配方法,多影像的匹配可以有效剔除误匹配点并显著提高影像匹配的成功率。
