Hybrid assembly of conducting nanofiber network for ultra-stretchable and highly sensitive conductive hydrogels

Conductive hydrogels have attracted extensive attention owing to their promising application prospects in flexible and wearable electronics.However,achieving both high sensitivity and mechanical robustness remains challenging.Herein,a novel and versatile conductive hydrogel based on the hybrid assem-bly of conductive cellulose nanofiber(CNF)networks has been designed and fabricated.Assisted by the templating effect of CNFs and stabilizing effect of negatively charged poly(styrene sulfonate)(PSS),conducting polymer poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)(PEDOT)was self-organized into three-dimensional nanostructures which constructed a robust conductive network after in-situ oxidative polymerization.The unique structure derived from CNF bio-template endowed polyacrylamide(PAM)hydrogels with improved electrical conductivity and excellent mechanical performance.As a result,the as-fabricated CNF/PEDOT:PSS/PAM hydrogel exhibited an ultimate tensile strain of 1881%and toughness of 3.72 MJ/m^(3),which were 4.07 and 8.27 times higher than the CNF-free hydrogel,respectively.More significantly,the resultant hydrogel sensor showed highly desirable sensing properties,including remarkable sensing range(1100%),high gauge factor(GF=5.16),fast response time(185 ms),and commendable durability,as well as good adhesiveness.Moreover,the hydrogel sensor was able to distinguish subtle physiological activities including phonation and facial expression,and monitor large human body motions such as finger flexion and elbow blending.Besides,it was feasible to integrate the strain sensor on the joints of robots to recognize complicated machine motion signals,showing potential in advanced human-machine interactions.

工业化进程中排放的二氧化碳加剧了温室效应,对全球气候环境产生了严重影响。目前,液胺吸收CO_(2)是最成熟的碳捕获技术,其具备高吸收容量、快吸收速率和简单再生过程等优点。然而,该技术仍存在着许多缺陷,如设备腐蚀、再生能耗高、环境污染等。针对上述问题,提出一种将四亚乙基五胺(TEPA)负载到膨胀蛭石夹层中制备新型载胺复合材料(EV-TEPA)以吸附CO_(2)的方法,并重点探讨了不同TEPA负载量和温度对CO_(2)吸附性能的影响。结果表明,高温煅烧后的膨胀蛭石(EV)具备优越的分层孔隙结构,其对胺的负载量远大于蛭石原矿(RV)。EV-TEPA吸附剂在75℃时吸附容量最高,为1.24 mmol/g,并且在经历8个循环后吸附容量仅衰减8.87%,表现出良好的循环稳定性。此研究探索了一种经济高效捕获CO_(2)的新型复合材料,为工业应用中CO_(2)吸附剂选择提供了一个参考方案。

Effects of recombinant human growth hormone on intestinal translocation of bacteria and endotoxin in rats with obstructive jaundice

Extrahepatic biliary obstruction promotes intestinal translocation of bacteria and endotoxin and this process is an important cause of morbidity and mortality in patients with jaundice. This study was undertaken to investigate the effect and mechanism of recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) and to alleviate intestinal translocation of bacteria and endotoxin in murine obstructive jaundice. METHODS:A group of 42 Wistar rats were divided into 3 groups:sham operation (SO), bile duct ligation (BDL), and BDL and rhGH treatment (rhGH). By the end of the experiment,on day 7, the animals were killed, and their liver function and serum endotoxin were measured, bacterial cultures of the liver, kidney and mesenchymal lymph were made. Terminal ileum mucosa was observed under an electron microscope. RESULTS:liver function was improved more significantly in the rhGH group than in the BDL group. The value of endotoxin in the rhGH group was 0.38±0.03 EU/ml, significantly lower than that in the BDL group (0.65±0.04 EU/ml, P0.05). The rate of bacteria translocation in the liver, kidney and mesenteric lymph was much higher in the BDL group than in other two groups. The rate of bacteria translocation in mesenteric lymph was 64.29%,significantly higher than that in the SO group and the rhGH group (P0.05). Under an electron microscope , ileum mucosa epithelial cells in the BDL group were necrotic, and organelle were markedly metamorphic. In the rhGH group, ultrastructural changes were less evident or similar to those in the SO group. CONCLUSION:rhGH has significant protective effects on intestinal mucosa barrier in obstructive jaundice, and reduces intestinal translocation of bacteria and endotoxin.

The Research of Nanocrystallized Realgar for the Treatment of Skin Cancer

Objective: To observe the effects and mechanisms of nanocrystallized realgar for the treatment of skin cancer. Methods: The clinical part was observing the therapeutic effect for the skin ulceration by externally using the nanocrystallized realgar. The experimental part was culturing the human squamous cell carcinoma A431 cells (A431) in vitro environment, estimating the effects of proliferation and apoptosis of A431 by MTT method and flow cytometry, and observing the effects on the expression of Survivin, Caspase-3 by RT-PCR method. Results: External treatment with nanocrystallized realgar had a therapeutic effect for the skin ulceration;it can promote the ulcers of skin cancer and skin metastasis healing. The experiments confirmed that nanocrystallized realgar can inhibit the A431 proliferation, induce the cells apoptosis, promote the expression of Caspase-3 and reduce the expression of Survivin. And the experiments also found that the effects were in a concentration-dependent manner, and they have a synergistic effect with cis-Dichlorodiamineplatinum (DDP). Conclusions: External treatment with nanocrystallized realgar for the patients of skin cancer or skin metastasis achieved satisfactory therapeutic effects by inhibiting A431 proliferation and inducing these cells apoptosis. The mechanism might be associated with promoting the expression of Caspase-3 and reducing the expression of Survivin.

Hyperuricemia,a metabolic disorder related to uric acid metabolism dysregulation,has become a common metabolic disease worldwide,due to changes in lifestyle and dietary structure.In recent years,owing to their high activity and few adverse effects,food-derived active peptides used as functional foods against hyperuricemia have attracted increasing attention.This article aims to focus on the challenge associated with peptide-specific preparation methods development,functional components identification,action mechanism(s)clarification,and bioavailability improvement.The current review proposed recent advances in producing the food-derived peptides with high anti-hyperuricemia activity by protein source screening and matched enzymatic hydrolysis condition adjusting,increased the knowledge about strategies to search antihyperuricemia peptides with definite structure,and emphasized the necessity of combining computer-aided approaches and activity evaluations.In addition,novel action mechanism mediated by gut microbiota was discussed,providing different insights from classical mechanism.Moreover,considering that little attention was paid previously on the structure-activity relationships of anti-hyperuricemia peptides,we collected the sequences from published studies and make a preliminary summary about the structure-activity relationships,which in turn provided guides for enzymatic hydrolysis optimization and bioavailability improvement.Hopefully,this article could promote the development,application and commercialization of food-derived anti-hyperuricemia peptides in the future.

Group A streptococcus （GAS）, an important human pathogen, can cause various kinds of infections including superficial infections and potentially lethal infections, and the search for an effective vaccine to prevent GAS infections has been ongoing for many years. This paper compares the immunogenicity and immunoprotection of FbaA （an Fn-binding protein expressed on the surface of GAS） with that of M protein, the best immunogen of GAS. Assay for immune response showed that FbaA, similar to M protein, could induce protein-specific high IgG titer in BALB/c mice. Furthermore, following GAS challenge, the mice immunized with FbaA showed the same protective rate as those with M protein. These results indicate that FbaA is similar in ability to M protein in inducing protective immunity against GAS challenge in mice. Cellular ＆ Molecular Immunology.

Protective effects and microarray-based mechanism of sea cucumber hydrolysates against high-glucose induced nephrotoxicity in mouse glomerulus mesangial cells

Diabetic nephropathy(DN)is a common type of end-stage renal disease and glomerular mesangial cells(GMCs)are widely used as a cell model for DN.This study firstly investigated the inhibitory effects of the Apostichopus japonicus and Acaudina leucoprocta hydrolysates on cellular growth under high-glucose treatment,better inhibitory effect of A.japonicus hydrolysate was observed compared to that of A.leucoprocta hydrolysate.Subsequently,the global transcription profiles obtained via microarray analysis showed that 6070 and 7015 genes were identified in the A.japonicus and A.leucoprocta groups compared with the model group,respectively.Among them,transcriptions of the slc30a4,slc35dl,tppp3,tp53inpl,bcl-2,apafl,alox12b and adrala genes were restored from the levels of the model group to those of the control group,contributed to cell mitosis and proliferation in both treatment groups.In addition,other apoptosis-related genes,such as bcl-6,clu,foxo3 and akt,showed opposite trends between two groups,which might cause the difference in inhibitory effect.We preliminarily proposed that the regulation effects of A.japonicus and A.leucoprocta on the genes involved in cellular mitosis,proliferation and apoptosis,might contribute to their inhibitory activity on GMCs under high-glucose environment.

Preparation of Small Particle Sized ZnAl-Hydrotalcite-like Compounds by Ultrasonic Crystallization

Ultrasonic technology has been intensively studied recently due to its special features. In this paper, an ultrasonic crystallization method was introduced for the preparation of ZnAl-Hydrotalcite-like compounds （ZnAl-HTLcs）. Samples with high crystallinity, small particle size and narrow particle size distribution were obtained and fully characterized using conventional techniques of XRD, FT-IR and TGDTA. The results prove that both ultrasonic frequency and ultrasonic power have effects on the sizes of the product particles. By varying the ultrasonic power from 250 W to 88 W, with the ultrasonic frequency fixed at 59 kHz, the median particle size of the samples increased from 0.37 μm to 0.82 μm. By altering the hydrothermal treatment time from 1 h to 5 h at 110 ℃, the median particle size of ZnAl-HTLcs synthesized via ultrasonic crystallization increased from 0.88 μm to 1.11 μm.

Erosive Wear and Wear Mechanism of in situ TiC_P/Fe Composites

The base structure of in situ TiCp/Fe composites fabricated under industrial condition was changed by different heat treatments. Erosive wear tests were carried out and the results were compared with that of wear-resistant white cast iron. The results suggest that the wear resistance of the in situ TiCp/Fe composite is higher than that of wear-resistant white cast iron under the sand erosive wear condition. The wear mechanism of the wear-resistant white cast iron was a cycle process that base surface was worn and carbides were exposed, then carbides was broken and wear pits appeared. While the wear mechanism of in situ TiCp/Fe composite was a cycle process that base surface was worn and TiC grains were exposed and dropped. The wear resistance of in situ TiCp/Fe composite was lower than that of wear-resistant white cast iron under the slurry erosive wear condition. Under such circumstance, the material was not only undergone erosive wear but also electrochemistry erosion due to the contact with water in the medium. The wear behaviours can be a combination of two kinds of wear and the sand erosive wear is worse than slurry erosive wear.
