The penetration of distributed renewable generationprovides green energy to the local energy system. However, theuncertainties it brings to the system are becoming more andmore unacceptable, making it difficult to efficiently operate thelocal energy system. In a foreseeable future, there could bean increasing number of flexible resources, such as naturalgas power plants and interruptible demands, which providesolutions to these uncertainties. In this paper, a novel day-aheadenergy market design for the local energy system is proposed.This market allows its participants to trade day-ahead energyin a peer-to-peer approach. In addition, flexible resources canprovide up/down-ward reserves to the system through reservetrading, where the local system operator (LSO) takes chargeof reserve procurement. Then, to operate the market, a marketclearing model is proposed incorporating operating costs of theday-ahead and real time stages. A consensus-based approach isapplied which enables the market to clear in a decentralizedmethod. Finally, since the LSO bears the reserve procurementcosts as well as the operating costs in the real time stage,we then propose a cost reallocation model to transfer theexpenses to the renewables. Case studies demonstrate the validityand efficiency of the proposed market design, including localenergy trading facilitation, high and stable revenue preservation,high computation efficiency and prevention of strategic biddingbehaviors.

The electricity distribution network is experiencing a profound transformation with the concept of the smart grid,providing possibilities for selfish consumers to interact with the distribution system operator(DSO)and to maximize their individual energy consumption utilities.However,this profitseeking behavior among consumers may violate the network constraints,such as line flows,transformer capacity and bus voltage magnitude limits.Therefore,a network-constrained energy consumption(NCEC)game among active load aggregators(ALAs)is proposed to guarantee the safety of the distribution network.The temporal and spatial constraints of an ALA are both considered,which leads the formulated model to a generalized Nash equilibrium problem(GNEP).By resorting to a well-developed variational inequality(VI)theory,we study the existence of solutions to the NCEC game problem.Subsequently,a two-level distributed algorithm is proposed to find the variational equilibrium(VE),a fair and stable solution to the formulated game model.Finally,the effectiveness of the proposed game model and the efficiency of the distributed algorithm are tested on an IEEE-33 bus system.

Voltage source converter based high-voltage direct current(VSC-HVDC)transmission technology has been extensively employed in power systems with a high penetration of renewable energy resources.However,connecting a voltage source converter(VSC)to an AC weak grid may cause the converter system to become unstable.In this paper,a phase-shift phaselocked loop(PS-PLL)is proposed wherein a back electromotive force(BEMF)observer is added to the conventional phaselocked loop(PLL).The BEMF observer is used to observe the voltage of the infinite grid in the stationaryαβframe,which avoids the problem of inaccurate observations of the grid voltage in the dq frame that are caused by the output phase angle errors of the PLL.The VSC using the PS-PLL can operate as if it is facing a strong grid,thus enhancing the stability of the VSC-HVDC system.The proposed PS-PLL only needs to be properly modified on the basis of a traditional PLL,which makes it easy to implement.In addition,because it is difficult to obtain the exact impedance of the grid,the influence of shortcircuit ratio(SCR)estimation errors on the performance of the PS-PLL is also studied.The effectiveness of the proposed PSPLL is verified by the small-signal stability analysis and timedomain simulation.

Tobacco control challenges in China: Big data analysis of online tobacco marketing information

Objective:To develop tobacco control strategies by analyzing online tobacco marketing information in China.Methods:Using web-crawler software,this study acquired 106,485 pieces of online tobacco marketing information published on 11 different Internet platforms including Weibo,WeChat,Baidu,etc.,from January-June 2018.The data were used to investigate the characteristics and social networks of online tobacco marketing via content and social network analysis.Results:The total volume of online tobacco marketing during the study period was high,showing a positive trend.Of all the marketing subjects,those involving"flavor capsule","Marlboro",and"Esse"were the most popular.The Weibo platform had the highest volume of online tobacco marketing information as well as the largest proportion of explicit marketing information.This was followed by other social media platforms such as Baidu Search,Baidu Tieba,and Xiaohongshu,where implicit marketing information predominated.The overall network structure of tobacco websites exhibited a significant centralization feature,where traditional and novel tobacco websites formed two clusters with almost no intersections.The China Tobacco Science and Education Website(http://***/)and E-Cigarette Home(http://***/)were the two nodes of the highest degree centrality within the respective"circle",while the China Tobacco Monopoly Bureau Website(http://***/)was the node with the highest closeness centrality.By contrast,Baidu Tieba's overall network structure was more decentralized,and the degree of correlation between different nodes was relatively low.Conclusion:Online tobacco marketing demonstrated high volumes and wide coverage,and an intertwined network,thereby creating major obstacles for tobacco control.To address this issue,the government should strengthen network supervision of tobacco marketing and revise its current regulations.Meanwhile,Internet platforms should improve self-regulation by comprehensively removing and blocking tobacco-related information.Lastly,the media and public

Driven by modern advanced information and communication technologies,distributed energy resources have great potential for energy supply within the framework of the virtual power plant(VPP).Meanwhile,demand response(DR)is becoming increasingly important for enhancing the VPP operation and mitigating the risks associated with the fluctuation of renewable energy resources(RESs).In this paper,we propose an incentivebased DR program for the VPP to minimize the deviation penalty from participating in the power market.The Markov decision process(MDP)with unknown transition probability is constructed from the VPP’s prospective to formulate an incentivebased DR program,in which the randomness of consumer behavior and RES generation are taken into consideration.Furthermore,a value function of prospect theory(PT)is developed to characterize consumer’s risk attitude and describe the psychological factors.A model-free deep reinforcement learning(DRL)-based approach is proposed to deal with the randomness existing in the model and adaptively determine the optimal DR pricing strategy for the VPP,without requiring any system model information.Finally,the results of cases tested demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

This paper proposes a reliability and operational test system named XJTU-ROTS2017,characterized by large-scale renewable power integration and long-distance transmission.The test system has 38 nodes,63 lines,15 transformers and 20 generators in three areas,with peak load 10,421 MW and total installed capacity 16050 MW.Electricity primarily transmits from a resource-rich area to a load area,carrying wind/solar power generation.The determination of component parameters and grid topology is based on design manuals and typical practices.The test system can be conveniently applied to reliability evaluation and operation optimization of composite power systems integrating coal/hydro/solar/wind resources.Finally,the extended applications to AC/DC hybrid power systems and interconnected power systems are discussed.

Predictions of ground surface settlement for shield tunnels in sandy cobble stratum based on stochastic medium theory and empirical formulas

This paper focuses on the prediction of ground surface settlement induced by shield tunnelling in sandy cobble stratum.Based on the stochastic medium theory,an analytical solution to predict the surface settlement is developed considering the difference between soil and tunnel volume loss.Then,the effects of tunnel geometries,influence angle and volume loss on the characteristics of surface settlement are discussed.Through back analysis,a total of 103 groups of field monitoring data of surface settlement induced by shield tunnelling in sandy cobble stratum are examined to investigate the statistical characteristics of the maximum settlement,settlement trough width and volume loss.An empirical prediction is presented based on the results of back analysis.Finally,the analytical solution and empirical expression are validated by the comparisons with the results of model tests and field monitoring.Results show that the soil at ground surface has an overall dilative response for most of the shield tunnelling in sandy cobble stratum.In addition,the developed analytical solution is applicable and reasonable for surface settlement prediction.Meanwhile,the proposed empirical formula also shows good per-formance in some cases,providing an approach or a reference for engineering designers to preliminarily evaluate the surface settlement.

Coherent change detection(CCD) is an effective method to detect subtle scene changes that occur between temporal synthetic aperture radar(SAR) observations. Most coherence estimators are obtained from a Hermitian product based on local statistics. Increasing the number of samples in the local window can improve the estimation bias, but cause the loss of the estimated images spatial resolution. The limitations of these estimators lead to unclear contour of the disturbed region, and even the omission of fine change targets. In this paper, a CCD approach is proposed to detect fine scene changes from multi-temporal and multi-angle SAR image pairs. Multi-angle CCD estimator can improve the contrast between the change target and the background clutter by jointly accumulating singleangle alternative estimator results without further loss of image resolution. The sensitivity of detection performance to image quantity and angle interval is analyzed. Theoretical analysis and experimental results verify the performance of the proposed algorithm.

Offshore wind energy is an important part of clean energy,and the adoption of wind energy to generate electricity will contribute to the implementation of the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.The combination of the fractional frequency transmission system(FFTS) and the direct-drive wind turbine generator will be beneficial to the development of the offshore wind power industry.The use of fractional frequency in FFTS is beneficial to the transmission of electrical energy,but it will also lead to an increase in the volume and weight of the generator,which is unfavorable for wind power generation.Improving the torque density of the generator can effectively reduce the volume of the generators.The vernier permanent magnet machine(VPM) operates on the magnetic flux modulation principle and has the merits of high torque density.In the field of electric machines,the vernier machine based on the principle of magnetic flux modulation has been proved its feasibility to reduce the volume and weight.However,in the field of low-speed direct-drive machines for high-power fractional frequency power generation,there are still few related researches.Therefore,this paper studies the application of magnetic flux modulation in fractional frequency and high-power direct-drive wind turbine generators,mainly analyzes the influence of different pole ratios and different pole pairs on the generator,and draws some conclusions to provide reference for the design of wind turbine generators.

Hybrid Energy Sharing Mechanism for Integrated Energy Systems Based on the Stackelberg Game

Integrating the sharing economy and the power industry is of positive significance for the development of the energy market.With the energy market transforming from a traditional vertical structure to an interactive and competitive structure,users'roles need to change,along with supply and demand interacting more frequently.Thus,the traditional centralized optimization method for a single energy source can hardly reveal the complex multi-entity behavior of multi-energy coupling.Therefore,this paper establishes a distributed electrical-gas-thermal energy sharing mechanism centered on an energy hub that can converse energy,and build a more applicable integrated energy system body.First,the supply-demand interaction and the energy conversion process is constructed with reference to the operationa丨mode of’a sharing economy and the dual role of prosumers.A Stackelberg model is established with the integrated energy system operator as the leader and prosumers as the followers,to simultaneously optimize the profit of the leader in the upper level and the comfort of the fo!lowers,energy use and utility in the lower level.Furthermore,for protecting the participants’privacy,a distributed algorithm is used to find the optimal solution to equilibrate the model,and the existence and uniqueness of the solution is proved.Finally,a case study validates the effectiveness of the hybrid energy sharing mechanism and provides a reference for the integration of the energy sharing economy with the integrated energy system.
