Performance of anaerobic fluidized bed microbial fuel cell with different porous anodes

Anode materials were used to construct microbial fuel cells(MFCs),and the characteristics of the anodes were important for successful applied performance of the MFCs.Via the cyclic voltammetry(CV)method,the experiments showed that 5 wt%multiwalled carbon nanotubes(MWNTs)were optimal for the PANI/MWNT film anodes prepared using 24 polymerization cycles.The maximum output voltage of the PANI/MWNT film anodes reached 967.7 mV with a power density of 286.63 mW·m-2.Stable output voltages of 860 mV,850 mV,and870 mV were achieved when the anaerobic fluidized bed microbial fuel cell(AFBMFC)anodes consisted of carbon cloth with carbon black on one side,copper foam and carbon brushes,respectively.Pretreatment of the anodes before starting the AFBMFC by immersion in a stirred bacterial fluid significantly shortened the AFBMFC startup time.After the AFBMFC was continuously run,the anode surfaces generated active microbial catalytic material.

The protection schemes of the entanglement in the system of two entangled atoms from nonMarkovian reservoirs via previous Weak measurement(pre-WM) and posterior Weak measurement reversal(post-WMR) are investigated. We firstly compare the effects of combination applying of pre-WM and post-WMR(scheme 1) and twice Weak measurements(WMs)(scheme2) in the condition of different initial entangled states.The analysis indicates that the protection performance of scheme 1 is much better than that of scheme 2. The scheme1 was utilized when the system of two entangled atoms suffers from the independent reservoirs. The numerical results show that the combination of pre-WM and postWMR can effectively enhance entanglement and shorten the time of Entanglement sudden death(ESD) in nonMakovain environment. We have found the optimum of WM strengthens is drastically related to the initial entangled state.

Resistance to breast cancer(BCa) chemotherapy severely hampers the patient’s prognosis.MicroRNAs provide a potential therapeutic prospect for BCa.In this study,the reversal function of microRNA34 a(miR34 a) on doxorubicin(Dox) resistance of BCa and the possible mechanism was investigated.We found that the relative level of miR34 a was significantly decreased in Dox-resistant breast cancer cell MCF-7(MCF-7/A) compared with Dox-sensitive MCF-7 cells.Transfection with miR34 a significantly suppressed the invasion,migration,adhesion of MCF-7/A cells without inhibiting their growth obviously.The combination of miR34 a and Dox could significantly inhibit the proliferation,migration,invasion and induce the apoptosis of MCF-7/A cells.The synergistic effect of this combination on resistant MCF-7/A cells has no obvious relation with the expressions of classical drug-resistant proteins P-GP,MRP and GST-π,while closely related with the down-regulation on TOP2 A and BCRP.Moreover,we found both protein and mRNA expression of Snail were significantly up-regulated in MCF-7/A cells in comparison with MCF-7 cells.Transfection with small interfering RNA(siRNA) of Snail could inhibit the invasion,migration and adhesion of drug-resistant MCF-7/A cells,while highexpression of Snail could remarkably promote the invasion,migration and adhesion of MCF-7 cells,which might be related with regulation of N-cadherin and E-cadherin.Transfection with miR34 a in MCF-7/A cells induced a decrease of Snail expression.The potential binding sites of miR34 a with 3’UTR of Snail were predicted by miRDB target prediction software,which was confirmed by luciferase reporter gene method.Results showed that the relative activity of luciferase was reduced in MCF-7/A cells after co-transfection of miR34 a and wild type(wt)-Snail,while did not change by co-transfection with miR34 a and 3’ UTR mutant type(mut) Snail.Combination of miR34 a and Dox induced a stronger decrease of Snail in MCF-7/A cells in comparison to miR34 a or Dox treatment alone.What’ more,for

Rational design of interfacial bonds within dual carbon-protected manganese oxide towards durable aqueous zinc ion battery

Manganese-based cathode materials are promising candidates for aqueous zinc ion batteries(AZIBs)by reason of their low cost and high energy density.However,their practical applicability is hampered by the intrinsic defects of poor electrical conductivity,sluggish reaction kinetics,and severe structural deterioration.Herein,we constructed a hierarchically porous structure composed of carbon-encapsulated Mn O nanoparticles(MOC)and three-dimensional(3D)nitrogen-doped graphene aerogel(NGA)(denoted as MOC@NGA).The hybrid was synthesized by a facile in-situ coprecipitation and annealing of manganesebased metal-organic framework(Mn-MOF74)and NGA composite(Mn-MOF74@NGA).Specifically,the carbon shells inherited from organic ligand of Mn-MOF74 could restrain the volume changes of Mn O,and the porous NGA prevented the agglomeration of MOC nanoparticles and enriched the types of interfacial chemical bonds.Profiting from the synergistic effect of rich interface chemical bonds and dual-carbon protection,the MOC@NGA hybrids exhibit fast interfacial electron/charge transfer and transport,and outstanding structural stability.Therefore,MOC@NGA cathode delivers an excellent rate performance(270 and 99.8 m Ah g^(-1)at 0.1 and 2.0 A g^(-1))and maintains an excellent specific capacity of 151.6 m Ah g^(-1)after 2,000cycles at 1.0 A g^(-1).Moreover,the fabricated MOC@NGA-based quasi-solid-state battery not only achieves outstanding flexibility but also displays impressive cycling stability,demonstrating a promising potential for portable and flexible equipment.This work provides a feasible strategy for the fabrication of the bridging structure of manganese-based oxides and porous carbon matrix for high-specific capacity and durable AZIBs cathodes.

The designing of reasonable nanocomposite materials and proper introduction of defect engineering are of great significance for the improvement of the poor electronic conductivity and slow reaction kinetics of manganese-based compounds. Herein, we report manganese-deficient Mn_(3)O_(4) nanoparticles which grow in-situ on highly conductive carbon nanotubes(CNTs)(denoted as DMOC) as an advanced cathode material for aqueous rechargeable zinc-ion batteries(RAZIBs). According to experimental and calculation results, the DMOC cathode integrates the advantages of enriched Mn defects and small particle size. These features not only enhance electronic conductivity but also create more active site and contribute to fast reaction kinetics. Moreover, the structure of DMOC is maintained during the charging and discharging process, thus benefiting for excellent cycle stability. As a result, the DMOC electrode delivers a high specific capacity of 420.6 m A h g^(-1) at 0.1 A g^(-1) and an excellent cycle life of 2800 cycles at 2.0 A g^(-1) with a high-capacity retention of 84.1%. In addition, the soft-packaged battery assembled with DMOC cathode exhibits long cycle life and high energy density of 146.3 Wh kg^(-1) at 1.0 A g^(-1) . The results are beneficial for the development of Zn/Mn_(3)O_(4) battery for practical energy storage.

Directional preparation of naphthalene oil-rich tar from Beisu low-rank coal by low-temperature catalytic pyrolysis

The study is mainly about students’ on-line behaviors at Business College of Beijing Union University. By tracking and analyzing students’ on-line behaviors at BCBUU for one semester, the characteristics of the students’ on-line behaviors at business colleges have been obtained, which can typically reflect the contemporary college students’ on-line behaviors in study, living, entertainment, consumption, etc.. These data and behavioral characteristics provide a realistic basis for college teachers to educate students in many aspects.

Low-rank coal(LRC)can be converted to high value-added naphthalene and its alkylated derivatives through low-temperature catalytic pyrolysis.In this paper,the catalytic pyrolysis of Beisu LRC in a fixed-bed at low temperature was investigated.And the catalytic effects of HZSM-5,low-temperature carbocoal(LtC),and LtC-HZSM-5 on the content and yield of naphthalene oil were examined.The results showed that the generation of naphthalene oil in low-temperature LRC pyrolysis(LT-LP)process could be improved when LtC(prepared at 550℃)or HZSM-5 was individually used as a catalyst.Compared with sole pyrolysis of raw LRC,the addition of the LtC-HZSM-5 catalyst increased the content of naphthalene oil from 11.19 wt.%to 31.49 wt%.And the yield of naphthalene oil was increased from 1.07 wt%to 5.31 wt%.The reactions of micromolecular hydrogen-containing radicals(⋅MHCR)were optimized by LtC.⋅MHCR could be captured in relatively low-temperature region(200-400℃)and released at high temperature by LtC.The generation of phenolics was inhibited by HZSM-5.As a result,the naphthalene oil-rich tar was obtained through low-temperature LtC-HZSM-5 catalytic pyrolysis of Beisu LRC.

Under high-temperature batch fluidized bed conditions and by employing juye coal as the raw material,the present study determined the effects of the bed material,temperature,OC/C ratio,steam flow and oxygen carrier cycle on the chemical looping combustion of coal.In addition,the variations taking place in the surface functional groups of coal under different reaction times were investigated,and the variations achieved by the gas released under the pyrolysis and combustion of Juye coal were analyzed.As revealed from the results,the carbon conversion ratio and rate were elevated significantly,and the volume fraction of the outlet CO_(2)remained more than 92%under the oxygen carriers.The optimized reaction conditions to achieve the chemical looping combustion of Juye coal consisted of a temperature of 900℃,an OC/C ratio of 2,as well as a steam flow rate of 0.5 g·min^(-1).When the coal was undergoing the chemical looping combustion,volatiles primarily originated from the pyrolysis of aliphatic-CH_(3)and-CH_(2),and CO and H_(2)were largely generated from the gasification of aromatic carbon.In the CLC process,H_(2)O and CO_(2)began to separate out at 270℃,CH4 and tar began to precipitate at 370℃,and the amount of CO_(2)was continuously elevated with the rise of the temperature.

Porous cotton stalk activated carbons(CSAC)were prepared by phosphoric acid activation of cotton stalks in a fluidized bed.The CSAC-supported Co-B and Co-Ce-B catalysts were prepared by the impregnation-chemical reduction method.The samples were characterized by the nitrogen adsorption,XRD,FTIR and TEM measurements.The effects of the sodium borohydride(NaBH_(4))and sodium hydroxide(NaOH)concentrations,reaction temperature and recyclability on the rate of NaBH_(4)hydrolysis over the CSAC-supported Co-Ce-B catalysts were systematically investigated.The results showed that the agglomeration of the Co-Ce-B nanoclusters on the CSAC support surface was significantly reduced with the introduction of cerium.The CSAC-supported Co-Ce-B catalyst exhibited superior catalytic activity and the average hydrogen generation rate was 16.42 L min^(−1)g^(−1)Co at 25℃,which is higher than the most reported cobalt-based catalysts.The catalytic hydrolysis of NaBH_(4)was zero order with respect to the NaBH_(4)concentration,and the hydrogen generation rate decreased with the increase in the NaOH concentration.The activation energy of the hydrogen generation reaction on the prepared catalyst was estimated to be 48.22 kJ mol^(−1).A kinetic rate equation was also proposed.
