Objective To discuss the clinical ultiliazation and significance of microembolus detection by transcranial Doppler （TCD） sonography in intracranial stenosis-occlusive disease. Data sources All related articles in this review were mainly searched from PubMed published in English from 1996 to 2012 using the terms of microembolic signal, transcranial Doppler, intracranial stenosis, stroke. Study selection Original articles and reviews were selected if they were related to the clinical utilization of microembolus detection in intracranial stenosis-occlusive disease. Results Intracranial stenosis is a significant cause of cerebral emboli, and microembolus detection by TCD sonography were widely used in exploring the mechanisms of ischemic stroke with intracranial stenosis （including the middle cerebral artery stenosis and the vertebral-basilar stenosis）, evaluating the prognosis of acute stroke, evaluating the therapeutic effects, and predicting the recurrent events of stroke. Conclusion Microembolus detection by TCD sonography plays an important role in the cerebral ischemic stroke patients with intracranial stenosis.

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of progestin-primed ovarian stimulation(PPOS)protocol in infertile women with high basal follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH)levels≥15 IU/***:Patients with high basal FSH levels≥15 IU/L with autologous oocytes from September 2016 to March 2019 were *** medroxyprogesterone acetate 4 mg/d or clomiphene citrate(CC)50 mg/d was administered daily from day 3 to the trigger *** serum FSH levels decreased to≤15.0 IU/L,a low dose of human menopausal gonadotropin(hMG)75/150 IU/d was administered to promote late follicular ***:Two hundred and twenty women were retrospectively analyzed in this *** them,139 patients were administered with PPOS protocol as the study group,and 81 patients were administered with CC protocol as the control *** numbers of received oocytes and viable embryos were higher in the study group than those in the control group(1.5±1.2 vs.1.2±0.8 and 0.8±0.8 vs.0.5±0.6,respectively,P<0.05).However,hMG duration and dosage were significantly higher in the study group than those in the control group(4.2±2.7 d vs.1.1±2.3 d and 609.1±424.5 IU vs.140.7±231.3 IU,respectively,P<0.01).Incidence of luteinizing hormone surge and cycle cancellation rate were lower in the study group than those in the control group with statistical difference(2.88%vs.16.05%and 36.50%vs.50.63%,respectively,P<0.05).Conclusions:PPOS protocol can effectively downregulate the endogenous FSH *** with CC protocol,treatment with PPOS protocol in patients with high basal FSH levels≥15 IU/L could receive more oocytes and more viable embryos.

A series of 3-nitro-5-nitroimino-1,2,4-oxadiazole-based energetic salts were synthesized from 3-nitro-5-nitroimino-1,2,4-oxadiazole anion and nitrogen-rich cations. They were fully characterized by IR,elemental analysis and NMR spectroscopy. The structure of triaminoguanidinium salt（1-e） was confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction. All salts showed good thermal stability with decomposed temperature ranging from 155 8C to 258 8C, and positive heats of formation from 226.0 k J/mol to554.1 k J/mol. Thus, the theoretic detonation pressure was predicted from 28.70 GPa to 37.60 GPa and velocities from 8526 m/s to 9354 m/s. Among them, guanidinium salt（1-c） exhibited both high decomposition temperature（258 8C） and detonation velocity（9319 m/s）.

Objective To analyze the effect of the numbers of transferred good-quality embryos on pregnancy outcomes in in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer （IVF-ET）, supplying a reference for selection of transferred embryos.Methods Five hundreds and one infertile patients who underwent IVF-ET were retrospectively analyzed. All cycles were divided into 3 groups by the number of transferred good-quality embryos （group A： two good-quality embryos, group B： one good-quality embryo, group C： no good-quality embryo）, with no significant difference in general condition such as age, infertility duration and infertility types. The pregnancy outcomes were compared and analyzed among the three groups.Results 1） Live-birth rate was improved with increasing good-quality transferred embryo numbers. Groups A （70.3%） and B （69.8%） had no significant difference （P=0. 409）, whereas it was significantly greater in groups A and B than in group C （57. 7%）（P=0.009, P=0.036）. 2） The loss of single gestational sacs rate, which have no significant difference among 3 groups （P=0.221, P=0.539, P=0.226）, reduced with increasing good-quality transferred embryos numbers. 3） Biochemical pregnancy abortion rate in groups A （10.9%） and B （10.1%） was significantly lower than that in group C （18.3%）（P=0.049, P=0.049）. 4） There was no significant difference among 3 groups in ectopic pregnancy rate （P=0.174, P=0.129, P=0.404）. 5）Multiple-birth rate was improved with increasing good-quality transferred embryos numbers, it was significantly greater in group A （31.6%） than in group C （15.0%）（P=0.020）, while groups B and A had no significant difference （P=0.489, P=0.126）.Conclusion Two good-quality transferred embryos have no significantly difference to 1 good-quality embryo in all pregnancy outcomes. In clinic treatment, we can select 1 good-quality embryo and 1 poor-quality embryo when patients only have few goodquality embryos. Objective To explore whether the serum concentrations of vascular endothelial growth factor （VEGF） and pigment epithelium-derived factor （PEDF） could serve as the predictors of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome （OHSS） in patients undergoing in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer （IVF-ET）. Methods Enzyme-linked immunoadsordent assay （ELISA） was employed to measure the serum concentrations of VEGF and PEDF on the day of hCG administration, oocyte retrieval and embryo transfer, respectively. Based on OHSS classification of the criteria of Golan, 85 patients were divided into three groups. Patients in group A （n=10） showed symptoms of severe OHSS and patients in group B （n=13） suffered from moderate OHSS. The control group （group C, n=62） contained patients without symptoms of OHSS as well as patients with mild *** In groups A, B and C, serum concentrations of PEDF on the day of hCG administration （h-PEDF）（166.54 ± 102.81 pg/ml, 159.45 ±136. 77 pg/ml, 172.05±170.95 pg/ml, P=0.48）, oocyte retrieval （o-PEDF）（176.91 ± 103.37 pg/ml, 122.52± 92.54 pg/ml, 179.82±177.47 pg/ml, P=0.27） and embryo transfer （e-PEDF）（169.02± 240.08 pg/ml, 136.80 ±139.21pg/ml, 157.38 ±222.54 pg/ml, P=0.95）, h-VEGF （175.55 ± 103.54 pg/ml, 218.84 ±179.70pg/ml, 153.39±145.06 pg/ml, P=0.36） and o- VEGF （171.93 ± 128.55 pg/ml, 220.36±149.82 pg/ml, 138. 74 ±% 139.30 pg/ml, P=0. 15） showed no significant differences. There was a statistical difference in serum concentration of e-VEGF between group A （197.04±156.63 pg/ml） and group C （110.69±49.55 pg/ml）（P=0.008）. The serum level of estradiol showed a positive correlation with the count of large follicles （r=0. 744）. Objective:This study aimed to compare the efficacy of clomiphene citrate(CC)with human menopausal gonadotropin(hMG)and that of medroxyprogesterone acetate(MPA)with hMG in poor responders defined according to the Bologna ***:The data of patients with poor ovarian response(POR)according to the Bologna criteria from September 2016 to November 2017 were retrospectively *** participants received either CC+hMG or the progesterone-primed ovarian stimulation protocol(PPOS)***:A total of 340 patients and 563 in vitro fertilization cycles were analyzed in this *** incidence of spontaneous luteinizing hormone(LH)surge and the mean LH level on trigger day were significantly lower in the PPOS group than in the CC+HMG group(0.04%vs.3.49%and 4.26±3.59 vs.9.38±6.92 mIU/mL,respectively,P<0.05);however,the incidence of premature ovulation was similar between the two *** number of viable embryos harvested was not statistically different between the two groups(1.7±1.1 vs.1.5±0.8,P=0.06).The mean dose and duration of hMG were significantly higher in the PPOS group than in the CC+hMG group(908.7±556.6 vs.177.9±214.5 IU and 6.0±3.4 vs.1.2±1.5 days,respectively,P<0.05).However,the number of oocytes retrieved,number of metaphase II oocytes,and fertilization rate were comparable between the two ***:The CC with low-dose gonadotropin strategy was superior to the MPA with hMG protocol for POR.

Asperuloside Promotes Apoptosis of Cervical Cancer Cells through Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress-Mitochondrial Pathway

Objective: To investigate the effects of asperuloside on cervical cancer based on endoplasmic reticulum(ER) stress and mitochondrial pathway. Methods: Different doses(12.5–800 μg/mL) of asperuloside were used to treat cervical cancer cell lines Hela and CaSki to calculate the half maximal inhibitory concentration(IC_(50)) of asperuloside. The cell proliferation was analyzed by clone formation assay. Cell apoptosis, intracellular reactive oxygen species(ROS) and mitochondrial membrane potential were determined by flow cytometry. The protein expressions of cleaved-caspase-3, Bcl-2, Bax, Cyt-c, cleaved-caspase-4 and glucose-regulated protein 78(GRP78) were analyzed by Western blot. And the inhibitor of ER stress, 4-phenyl butyric acid(4-PBA) was used to treat cervical cancer cells to further verify the role of ER stress in the apoptosis of cervical cancer cells induced by asperuloside. Results: Asperuloside of 325, 650, and 1300 μg/mL significantly inhibited the proliferation and promoted apoptosis of Hela and CaSki cells(P<0.01). All doses of asperuloside significantly increased intracellular ROS levels, reduced mitochondrial membrane potential, significantly reduced Bcl-2 protein expression level, and increased Bax, Cyt-c, GRP78 and cleaved-caspase-4 expressions(P<0.01). In addition, 10 mmol/L 4-PBA treatment significantly promoted cell proliferation and reduced apoptosis(P<0.05), and 650 μg/mL asperuloside could reverse 4-PBA-induced increased cell proliferation, decreased apoptosis and cleaved-caspase-3,-4 and GRP78 protein expressions(P<0.05). Conclusion: Our study revealed the role of asperuloside in cervical cancer, suggesting that asperuloside promotes apoptosis of cervical cancer cells through ER stress-mitochondrial pathway.
