A Dosimetric Comparison between Conventional Fractionated and Hypofractionated Image-guided Radiation Therapies for Localized Prostate Cancer

Background： Image-guided radiation therapy （IGRT） is the preferred method for curative treatment of localized prostate cancer, which could improve disease outcome and reduce normal tissue toxicity reaction. 1GRT using cone-beam computed tomography （CBCT） in combination with volumetric-modulated arc therapy （VMAT） potentially allows smaller treatment margins and dose escalation to the prostate. The aim of this study was to compare the difference of dos^metric diffusion in conventional IGRT using 7-field, step-and-shoot intensity-modulated radiation therapy （IMRT） and hypofractionated IGRT using VMAT for patients with localized prostate cancer. Methods： We studied 24 patients who received 78 Gy in 39 daily fractions or 70 Gy in 28 daily fractions to their prostate with/without the seminal vesicles using IMRT （n = 12） or VMAT （n = 12） for prostate cancer between November 2013 and October 2015. Image guidance was performed using kilovoltage CBCT scans equipped on the linear accelerator. Offline planning was performed using the daily treatment images registered with simulation computed tomography （CT） images. A total of 212 IMRT plans in conventional cohort and 292 VMAT plans in hypofractionated cohort were enrolled in the study. Dose distributions were recalculated on CBCT images registered with the planning CT scanner. Results： Compared with 7-field, step-and-shoot IMRT, VMAT plans resulted in improved planning target volume （PTV） D95% （7663.17 ± 69.57 cGy vs. 7789.17± 131.76 cGy, P 〈 0.001）. VMAT reduced the rectal D25 （P 〈 0.001）, D35 （P 〈 0.001）, and D50 （P 〈 0.001）, bladder V50 （P 〈 0.001）, D25 （P = 0.002）, D35 （P = 0.028）, and D50 （P = 0.029）. However, VMAT did not statistically significantly reduce the rectal V50, compared with 7-field, step-and-shoot IMRT （25.02 ± 5.54% vs. 27.43 ±8.79%, P - 0.087）. Conclusions： To deliver the hypofractionated radiotherapy in prostate cancer, VMAT significantly increased PTV D95% dose and decreased the dose of radiation delivered to adjacent normal tissues comparing to 7-fiel

从信息效率维度对信息与流动性溢价关系进行研究,并从机构持股比例角度进行验证,进一步讨论市场流动性冲击对两者关系的影响.研究发现:中国股票市场存在明显的流动性溢价;低信息效率下流动性溢价更高,低机构持股比例股票由于信息效率低表现出更高的流动性溢价;在市场流动性冲击下,流动性溢价在低信息效率情形下跳跃式增加,信息效率与流动性溢价关系明显增强.研究结论对完善和丰富信息与流动性溢价关系研究有一定理论价值,为投资者配置符合自身风险偏好的投资组合、监管机构对市场进行监管提供参考.

J/ψ production in p+p and p+Pb collisions at ultrarelativistic energies

The production of J/ψ mesons in p+p and p+Pb collisions is studied in the framework of color-glass condensate together with a simple color evaporation model.Considering the nuclear effects with the Glauber–Gribov approach,we calculate the cross section and the nuclear modification factor of forward J/ψ production in p+Pb collisions at s^(1/2) 5:02 TeV.Then,the backward J/ψ production in p+Pb collisions at s^(1/2) 8:16 Te V is also analyzed.In our calculation,the phenomenology KLRAd S/CFT model and the rc BK approach,which are valid at a small x,are used to calculate the three-point function.It is shown that the theoretical results fit well with the experimental data from ALICE and LHCb.

Herbivore-induced rice resistance against rice blast mediated by salicylic acid

In agro-ecosystems,plants are important mediators of interactions between their associated herbivorous insects and microbes,and any change in plants induced by one species may lead to cascading effects on interactions with other species.Often,such effects are regulated by phytohormones such as jasmonic acid(JA)and salicylic acid(SA).Here,we investigated the tripartite interactions among rice plants,three insect herbivores(Chilo suppressalis,Cnaphalocrocis medinalis or Nilapai-vata lugens),and the causal agent of rice blast disease,the fungus Magnaporthe oryzae.We found that pre-infestation of rice by C.suppressalis or N.lugens but not by C.medinalis conferred resistance to M.oryzae.For C.suppressalis and N.lugens,insect infestation without fungal inoculation induced the accumulation of both JA and SA in rice leaves.In contrast,infestation by C.medinalis increased JA levels but reduced SA levels.The exogenous application of SA but not of JA conferred resistance against M.oryzae.These results suggest that preinfestation by C suppressalis or N.lugens conferred resistance against M.oryzae by increasing SA accumulation.These findings enhance our understanding of the interactions among rice plant,insects and pathogens,and provide valuable information for developing an ecologically sound strategy for controlling rice blast.

Shape control technology during electrochemical synthesis of gold nanoparticles

Gold nanoparticles with different shapes and sizes were prepared by adding gold precursor （HAuC14） to an electrolyzed aqueous solution of poly（N-vinylpyrrolidone）（PVP） and KN03, which indicates the good reducing capacity of the PVP-containing solution after being treated by electrolysis. Using a catholyte and an anolyte as the reducing agents for HAuC14,＇ respectively, most gold nanoparticles were spherical particles in the former case but plate-like particles in the latter case. The change in the pH value of electrolytes caused by the electrolysis of water would be the origin of the differences in shape and morphology of gold nanoparticles. A hypothesis of the H＋ or OH- catalyzed PVP degradation mechanism was proposed to interpret why the pH value played a key role in determining the shape or morphology of gold nanoparticles. These experiments open up a new method for effectively controlling the shape and morphology of metal nanoparticles by using electrochemical methods.

Logging identification method of depositional facies in Sinian Dengying Formation of the Sichuan Basin

The sedimentary facies/microfacies,which can be correlated with well logs,determine reservoir quality and hydrocarbon productivity in carbonate rocks.The identification and evaluation of sedimentary facies/microfacies using well logs are very important in order to effectively guide the exploration and development of oil and gas.Previous carbonate facies/microfacies identification methods based on conventional well log data often exist multiple solutions.This paper presents a new method of facies/microfacies identification based on core-conventional logs-electrical image log-geological model,and the method is applied in the fourth member of the Dengying Formation(Deng 4)in the Gaoshiti-Moxi area of the Sichuan Basin.Firstly,core data are used to calibrate different types of facies/microfacies,with the aim to systematically clarify the conventional and electrical image log responses for each type of facies/microfacies.Secondly,through the pair wise correlation analysis of conventional logs,GR,RT and CNL,are selected as sensitive curves to establish the microfacies discrimination criteria separately.Thirdly,five well logging response models and identification charts of facies/microfacies are established based on electrical image log.The sedimentary microfacies of 60 exploratory wells was analyzed individually through this method,and the microfacies maps of 4 layers of the Deng 4 Member were compiled,and the plane distribution of microfacies in the Gaoshiti-Moxi area of the Sichuan Basin was depicted.The comparative analysis of oil testing or production results of wells reveals three most favorable types of microfacies and they include algal psammitic shoal,algal agglutinate mound,and algal stromatolite mound,which provide a reliable technical support to the exploration,development and well deployment in the study area.

The thermal stability of triple helical structure plays a critical role in collagen biosynthesis,function and degradation.CD technique was utilized to characterize the thermal stability of synthetic collagen mimic peptides.Fluorescence spectroscopy is widely used with easy access all around the world because of its inexpensive instrumentation,low operation cost,easy operation,and high sensitivity.Here we have developed an alternative fluorescence method to detect the thermal stability of collagen mimic peptides.We have demonstrated that fluorescence spectroscopy could measure the thermal stability of collagen mimic peptides with low concentrations under different circumstances.This highly sensitive fluorescence self-quenching assay will greatly expedite the studies of sequence-dependent properties of collagen mimic peptides,and it has great potential in the application of determining the thermal stability of triple helix systems such as collagens,collectins,adiponectin,macrophage scavenger and C1q.

Kang-Ai Injection Inhibits Gastric Cancer Cells Proliferation through IL-6/STAT3 Pathway

Objective:To explore the mechanisms underlying the proliferative inhibition of Chinese herbal medicine Kang-Ai injection(KAI)in gastric cancer cells.Methods:Gastric cancer cell lines MGC803 and BGC823 were treated by 0,0.3%,1%,3%and 10%KAI for 24,48 and 72 h,respectively.The cell proliferation was evaluated by 3-(4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)-2,5-diphenyl-2-H-tetrazolium bromide(MTT)assay.The apoptosis and cell cycle were evaluated by flow cytometry.Interleukin(IL)-6 mRNA and protein expression levels were detected by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR)and enzyme-linked immune sorbent assay(ELISA),respectively.The protein expression levels of cyclin A,cyclin E,cyclin B1,cyclin D1,p21,retinoblastoma(RB),protein kinase B(AKT),extracellular regulated protein kinases(ERK),signal transducer and activator of transcription(STAT)1 and STAT3 were detected by Western blot.Results:KAI inhibited the proliferation of MGC803 and BGC823 gastric cancer cells in dose-and time-dependent manner.After treated with KAI for 48 h,the proportion of G,phase was increased,expression level of cyclin D1 and phosphorylation-RB were down-regulated,whereas the expression of p21 was up-regulated(all P<0.01).Furthermore,48-h treatment with KAI decreased the phosphorylation level of STAT3,inhibited the mRNA and protein expressions of IL-6(all P<0.01).IL-6 at dose of 10 ng/mL significantly attenuated the proliferative effect of both 3%and 10%KAI,and recovered KAI-inhibited STAT3 phosphorylation and cyclin D1 expression level(all P<0.01).Conclusion:KAI exerted an anti-proliferative function by inhibiting IL-6/STAT3 signaling pathway followed by the induction of G_(1)phase arrest in gastric cancer cells.

Regulation of bone phosphorus retention and bone development possibly by BMP and MAPK signaling pathways in broilers

The bone morphogenetic protein(BMP)and mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)signaling pathways play an important role in regulation of bone formation and development,however,it remains unclear that the effect of dietary different levels of non-phytate phosphorus(NPP)on these signaling pathways and their correlations with bone phosphorus(P)retention and bone development in broilers.Therefore,this experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of dietary P supplementation on BMP and MAPK signaling pathways and their correlations with bone P retention and bone development in broilers.A total of 800 one-day-old Arbor Acres male broilers were randomly allotted to 1 of 5 treatments with 8 replicates in a completely randomized design.The 5 treatments of dietary NPP levels were 0.15,0.25,0.35,0.45 and 0.55%or 0.15,0.22,0.29,0.36 and 0.43%for broilers from 1 to 21 days of age or 22 to 42 days of age,respectively.The results showed that extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1(ERK1)mRNA expression in the tibia of broilers on days 14 and 28,phosphorylated-ERK1(p-ERK1)on day 14,and BMP2 protein expression on days 28 and42 decreased linearly(P<0.04),while c-Jun N-terminal kinase 1(JNK1)mRNA expression on day 42 increased linearly(P<0.02)with the increase of dietary NPP level.At 14 days of age,total P accumulation in tibia ash(TP),bone mineral concentration(BMC),bone mineral density(BMD),bone breaking strength(BBS)and tibia ash were negatively correlated(r=-0.726 to-0.359,P<0.05)with ERK1 and JNK1 mRNA as well as p-ERK1;tibia alkaline phosphatase(ALP)and bone gal protein(BGP)were positively correlated(r=0.405 to 0.665,P<0.01)with ERK1 mRNA and p-ERK1.At 28 days of age,TP,BMC,BMD,BBS and tibia ash were negatively correlated(r=-0.518 to-0.370,P<0.05)with ERK1 mRNA and BMP2 protein,while tibia ALP was positively correlated(r=0.382 to 0.648,P<0.05)with them.The results indicated that TP,BMC,BMD,BBS or tibia ash had negative correlations,while tibia ALP and BGP had positive correlations with ERK1 and JNK1 mRNAs,BMP2 protein and
