Current and future research directions in cellular metabolism of colorectal cancer:A bibliometric analysis

The primary aim of this study was to analyze the evolving trends and key focal points in research on cellular metabolism of colorectal cancer(CRC).Relevant publications on cellular metabolism in CRC were sourced from the Science Citation Index Expanded within the Web of Science Core Collection *** analysis and visualization were conducted using VOSviewer(version 1.6.18)software and CiteSpace 6.1.R6(64-bit)Basic.A comprehensive compilation of 4722 English-language publications,covering the period from January 1,1991 to December 31,2022,was carefully identified and included in the *** the authors,“Ogino,Shuji”contributed the most publications in this field,while“Giovannucci,E”garnered the highest number of *** journal“Cancer Research”ranked first in both publication volume and ***,“Shanghai Jiao Tong University”emerged as the top contributor in terms of published articles,while“Harvard University”led in citation *** country-based analysis,the United States held the top position in both publication output and citations,closely followed by *** increasing recognition of the significance of cellular metabolism in CRC underscores its potential for novel therapeutic approaches aimed at improving CRC management and prognosis.

Evaluation of Risk Factors for Arytenoid Dislocation after Endotracheal Intubation: a Retrospective Case-control Study

Objective To investigate the risk factors for postoperative arytenoid dislocation. Methods From September 2003 to August 2013, the records of 16 patients with a history of postoperative arytenoid dislocation were reviewed. Patients matched in terms of date and type of procedures were chosen as the controls(n=16). Recorded data for all patients were demographics, smoking status, alcoholic status, preoperative physical status, airway evaluation, intubation procedures, preoperative laboratory test results, anesthetic consumption and intensive care unit stay. For arytenoid dislocation cases, we further analyzed the incidences of the left and right arytenoid dislocation, and the outcomes of surgical repair and conservative treatment. Categorical variables were presented as frequencies and percentages, and were compared using the chi-squared test. Continuous variables were expressed as means±SD and compared using the Student's unpaired t-test. To determine the predictors of arytenoid dislocation, a logistic regression model was used for multivariate analysis. Results Sixteen patients with postoperative arytenoid dislocation were enrolled, with a median age of 52 years. Most postoperative arytenoid dislocation patients(15/16, 93.75%) received surgical repair, except one patient who recovered after conservative treatment. None of the postoperative arytenoid dislocation patients were smokers. Red blood cell(P=0.044) and hemoglobin(P=0.031) levels were significantly lower among arytenoid dislocation cases compared with the controls. Conclusions Non-smoking and anemic patients may be susceptible to postoperative arytenoid dislocation. However, neither of them was independent risk factor for postoperative arytenoid dislocation.

CHANGES OF INTERLEUKIN-6 AND RELATED FACTORS AS WELL AS GASTRIC INTRAMUCOSAL pH DURING COLORECTAL AND ORTHOPAEDIC SURGICAL PROCEDURES

Objective To investigate the changes of perioperative serum levels of interleukin-6(IL-6), C-reactive protein (CRP), and cortisol, as well as gastric intramucosal pH (pHi) and plasma lactate, aiming to compare systemic changes and tissue perfusion during colorectal and orthopaedic surgical procedures. Methods Twenty patients were randomly assigned to two groups, 10 cases of operation on vertebral canal, 10 cases of colorectal radical *** blood was drawn at 1 day before operation, 2, 4, and 6 hours following skin incision, and 1 day after operation, in order to measure serum IL-6, CRP, and *** and plasma lactate were also measured at the same time *** Serum concentrations of IL-6 and cortisol increased gradually following operation, reaching the peak value at 6 hours from the beginning of *** was not detectable until the first day after *** concentration of IL-6 had positive relationship with *** variables changed more significantly in colorectal group than that in orthopaedic group (P<0.05).pHi decreased gradually, reaching the lowest level at 4 hours from the beginning of operation, and to more extent in colorectal group than that in orthopaedic group (P<0.05).Conclusion IL-6 may reflect tissue damage more sensitively than *** surgery might induce systemic disorder to more extent, in terms of immuno-endocrinal aspect as well as tissue perfusion, reflected with pHi.

Airway Management in a Child with Goldenhar Syndrome

Goldenhar syndrome, also known as oculo-auriculo-vertebral dysplasia, is characterized by a wide range of congenital anomalies, such as micrognathia, oral cavity malformations, and vertebral anomalies and always causes difficult airway. Awake intubation often cannot be used on children because of inadequate cooperation. In addition, children have higher rates of oxygen consumption, significantly shortening the period of apnea that can be safely tolerated. This study reported a successful orotracheal intubation using the McGrath？ video laryngoscope combined with a fiberoptic bronchoscope （FOB） in a pediatric patient with Goldenhar syndrome.

The characteristics such as signal noise ratio（SNR） and sensitivity of the fluorescence detection system for micro-fluidic chip influence the performance of the whole system extremely. The confocal laser induced fluorescence detection system is presented. Based on the debugging of optical and circuit modules, the results of detecting the samples are given and analyzed theoretically, and the improved project is put forward.

Objective The present objective of our study was to evaluate the potential effects of Wuniu early tea on CYP450 isozymes CYP2C9, CYP1A2, CYP2C19 and CYP2B6 in rats with a cocktail approach including matching probe drugs of tolbutamide, phenacetin, omeprazole and bupropion. Method These four probe drugs were simultaneously administered to rats after repeated Wuniu early tea administration for seven days. The pharmacokinetics of the probes in the plasma was simultaneous determined by HPLC-MS. Result The t1/2 and AUC(0-∞) of tolbutamide increased significantly and CLz decreased markly in test rats afer repeated Wuniu early tea administration. But the main pharmacokinetic parameters of the other three probe drugs were no significant differences between control and test *** The findings in this study suggested that Wuniu early tea could inhibit CYP2C9 while did not influence on CYP1A2, CYP2C19 and CYP2B6

Cancer metastasis is the leading cause of death in cancer patients worldwide and one of the major challenges in treating *** tumor cells(CTCs)play a pivotal role in cancer ***,the content of CTCs in peripheral blood is minimal,so the detection of CTCs in real samples is extremely ***,efficient enrichment and early detection of CTCs are essential to achieve timely diagnosis of *** this work,we constructed an innovative and sensitive single-nanoparticle collision electrochemistry(SNCE)biosensor for the detection of MCF-7 cells(human breast cancer cells)by immunomagnetic separation technique and liposome signal amplification *** embedded with platinum nanoparticles(Pt NPs)were used as signal probes,and homemade gold ultramicroelectrodes(Au UME)were used as the working *** effective collision between Pt NPs and UME would produce distinguishable step-type ***-7 cells were accurately quantified according to the relationship between cell concentration and collision frequency(the number of step-type currents generated per unit time),realizing highly sensitive and specific detection of MCF-7 *** SNCE biosensor has a linear range of 10 cells·mL^(-1)to 10^(5) cells·mL^(-1)with a detection limit as low as 5 cells·mL^(-1).In addition,the successful detection of MCF-7 cells in complex samples showed that the SNCE biosensors have great potential for patient sample detection.

Anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor （anti-NMDA-R） encephalitis is a newly recognized neuro-autoimmune disease. Patients usually present with a series of neurological and psychiatric syndromes including memory impairment, seizures, dyskinesia, autonomic nervous system dysfunction, etc. Anti-NMDA-R encephalitis usually affects young women with teratoma being a common co-existing condition in nearly 47% of the diagnosed patients. Previous studies have shown that teratoma removal, being the current first-line therapy, may enhance the effectiveness of autoimmune therapy and decrease the incidence of relapse, However, poorly controlled encephalitis poses as a perioperative anesthetic risk. Therefore, timing of the surgery is of great concern and is a question yet to be answered. Due to low incidence of anti-NMDA-R encephalitis in general population, literature of the perioperative management in these group of patients is scarce. Only few case reports were found yet, none has discussed the issue of surgery timing. In this study, 6 patients with anti-NMDA-R encephalitis undergoing teratoma removal were reviewed, and timing of surgery and anesthetic management for these patients were discussed.
