Construction of a high-density genetic linkage map and identification of flowering-related QTL in erect milkvetch(Astragalus adsurgens)

Erect milkvetch(Astragalus adsurgens)is a perennial legume forage crop with economic and ecological value in livestock grazing and soil-erosion control in arid and semiarid areas worldwide.Genomic information and molecular tools to support breeding and research in the species are limited.The objectives of this investigation were to map its genome using DNA markers and to identify quantitative trait loci(QTL)in the species.An F1 mapping population of 250 plants was developed from a cross between two parents with differing flowering-related traits.A high-density genetic linkage map containing 4821 markers on eight linkage groups(LGs)with a total genetic length of 1395 cM and a mean interval of 0.29 cM between adjacent markers was constructed with SLAF-seq technology.Comparative genomic analyses revealed the highest genome sequence similarity(8.71%)between erect milkvetch and Medicago truncatula,followed by Glycine max(7.65%),Cicer arietinum(7.53%),and Lupinus angustifolius(5.21%).A total of 64 significant QTL for flowering-related traits on six LGs were detected,accounting for 9.38 to 19.1%of the associated phenotype variation.Five and 48 key candidate genes for floret number and inflorescence length were identified based on the Glycyrrhiza uralensis genome.These candidate genes were involved in ubiquitination/degradation,pollen development,cell division,cytokinin biosynthetic process,and plant flowering.These findings shed light on the regulation of flowering traits in erect milkvetch and provide genomic resources for future molecular breeding of the crop.

Dispersion attenuation structure of the crust around the Weifang-Jiashan segment of the Tanlu fault zone in North China

On the condition that the velocity ratio of compressive wave to shear wave is stable during the propagating process of seismic wave, this paper develops an estimation method for medium quality factor based on single station＇s travel time difference between direct S and P waves and the first period signal of direct P wave. 8 774 high SNR wave data altogether recorded by 75 stations are analyzed. The results show that：（1） under the normal regional stress field, the quality factors QmsP in the stable tectonic area are higher than that in the active tectonic area around the Weifang-Jiashan section and its surrounding area in the Tanlu fault zone; （2） in the Juxian-Tancheng section the seismic wave attenuation is relatively quick, and the media is relatively broken, suggesting no tectonic stress accumulation; （3） the Xinyi-Sihong section is currently locking and in accumulating elastic strain energy stage, which has the deep environment and conditions of strong earthquake generation similar to those of the 1668 M8.5 Tancheng strong earthquake.

Intrinsic and attenuative dispersion characteristics of direct P-waves in and near the source area of the 1999 MW7.6 Chi-Chi,Taiwan,earth-quake before and after the mainshock

Based on the measurement of the arrival time of maxima magnitude from band-pass filtering signals which were determined using a new Morlet wavelet multiple-filter method, we develop a method for measuring intrinsic and attenuative dispersion of the first cycle direct P-wave. We determine relative group delays of spectral components of direct P-waves for 984 ray paths from SML and ALS stations of the Taiwan Central Weather Bureau Seismic Network （CWBSN）. Using continuous relaxation model, we deduce a new transfer function that relates intrinsic dispersion to attenuation. Based on the genetic algorithm （GA）, we put forward a new inversion procedure for determining which is defined the flat part of quality factor Q（ω） spectrum, τ1 and τ2 parameters. The results indicate that ① The distribution of Om values versus epicentral distance and depth show that Qm values linearly increase with increasing of epicentral distance and depth, and Qm values is clearly independent of earthquakes magnitude; ② In the different depth ranges, Qm residual show no correlation with variations in epicentral distance. Some significant changes of Qm residual with time is likely caused by pre-seismic stress accumulation, and associated with fluid-filled higher density fractures rock volume in the source area of 1999 Chi-Chi Taiwan earthquake. We confirm that Qm residual with time anomaly appears about 2.5 years before the Chi-Chi earthquake; ③ A comparison of Qm residual for different depth range between SML and ALS stations show that the level of stress has vertical and lateral difference; ④ The area near observation station with both anomalously increasing and decreasing averaged Qm residual is likely an unstable environment for future strong earthquake occurrence. This study demonstrates the capability of direct P-waves dispersion for monitoring attenuation characteristics and its state changes of anelastic medium of the Earth at short propagation distance using seismograms recorded from very small events.

Origin of burrow-associated dolomites and its reservoir implications: A case study from the Lower-Middle Ordovician carbonates of Tarim Basin(NW China)

The Yingshan Formation of the Lower-Middle Ordovician in the Tarim Basin （NW China） was mainly deposited in a shallow platform， which was intensely bioturbated with burrows filled with both dolomites and calcites. This study aims to figure out the controls on the dolomitization of burrow infills and the effects on petroleum reservoir quality based on petrographic examination， fluid inclusion microthermometry， and isotopic （C-O-Sr） geochemical analyses. The differentiation of burrow-associated carbonates （dolomites and calcites） was likely controlled by the interactions of sea-level oscillations of variable orders and depositional environments. The burrow-associated dolomites （BADs） were precipitated in a relatively restricted （i.e.， lagoon） depositional environment during the lowstand of long-term sea level. In contrast， the burrow-associated calcites （BACs） were formed in a water circulation-improved lagoonal environment during the transgression of long-term sea level. Isotopic geochemical data indicate that the BADs in the Yingshan Formation were formed from slightly saline （i.e.， mesosaline to penesaline） seawater， whereas the BACs were precipitated from nearly normal seawater. In addition to the anoxic condition， the presence of marine-sourced organic matter and sulfate-reducing bacteria， and a sufficient supply of dolomitizing fluids enriched in magnesium ions (Mg;) and their Mg;concentration may have played a critical role in the formation of BADs. In the more permeable and disturbed burrow sediments as a result of burrowing， penetrating fluids with higher salinities and higher Mg;concentration relative to seawater favored dolomite precipitation. The fluids with seawater-like Mg;concentration， however， would lead to calcite precipitation. The progressive dolomitization of these burrowed sediments could have propagated the dolomitizing fronts and extended into ambient limestones， leading to the development of extensive dolomites. Phosphorite generative processes around the Precambrian-Cambrian boundary in South China: An integrated study of Mo and phosphate O isotopic compositions

Large phosphorite deposits in Central Guizhou,China,were formed around the Precambrian/Cambrian boundary(PC/C),including the Ediacaran(Doushantuo stage)and early Cambrian(Gezhongwu stage).Among them,Gezhongwu phosphorite from Zhijin are enriched in rare earth elements(REE)plus yttrium(REY),reaching 3.503 million tons.Although phosphorites have attracted great attention,the specific sources P and REY remained unclear.To determine the P and REY sources and establish a phosphogenic model of PC/C phosphorite,we present an integrated dataset of Mo and phosphate O isotopes for the first time,along with carbonate C and O isotopes,geology,petrology,and geochemistry.In all samples,d18Op,Y/Ho,and Zr/Hf decreased from the Ediacaran to the early Cambrian,indicating increased terrigenous weathering fluxes while decreased upwelling water input.Furthermore,terrigenous weathering delivery significantly elevated marine REY concentrations in the Cambrian in Zhijin.The Ceanom and d98/95Mo suggest that seawater was oxidized in the later Ediacaran and became entirely oxic in the early Cambrian.The positive feedback between oxygen levels in atmosphere and primary productivity caused progressive oxygenation in ocean-atmosphere system and enable phosphorites to be formed by different mechanisms.Results show that the Lower Doushantuo consist of abiotic intraclasts and exhibited“seawaterlike”REY types,indicating abiological and mechanical reworking phosphogenesis.The Upper Doushantuo and Gezhongwu Formation contained mainly microbial debris and abiogenic intraclasts,and exhibit “hat-shaped”REY plots,suggesting microbially mediated phosphogenesis.Based on this data set,we developed a phosphogenic model illustrating formation of these two phosphorite deposits,wherein the Lower Doushantuo phosphorite formed through the reworking of pre-existing phosphatic sediments in anoxic and abiotic ocean,whereas the Upper Doushantuo and Gezhongwu phosphorite formed via microbial metabolisms in oxic and biotic conditions.Our study has implications on the

Estimation of interfacial damage in composites with reinforced particles based on ultrasonic data

The scattering of elastic waves by a spherical particle with imperfect interface and the nondestructive detection of interfacial damage were studied. First, the scattering of elastic waves by a spherical particle with imperfect interface, i.e. spring interface model, was studied. Then, multiple scattering by random distributed particles was investigated and the equations to evaluate the velocity and attenuation of effective waves defined by statistic averaging were given. Furthermore, on the basis of the established relation between the velocity and interfacial constants, a method to evaluate the interfacial damage nondestructively from the ultrasonic data was proposed. Numerical simulation was performed for the SiC-Al composites. The velocities of the effective waves were computed to show the influence of the interface constants. Using the genetic algorithm, the interfacial damage was evaluated from the synthetic experimental data with various noise levels. The numerical results showed the feasibility of the method proposed.

Pleomorphic adenoma(PA)is the most common benign tumour in the salivary gland and has high morphological complexity.However,the origin and intratumoral heterogeneity of PA are largely unknown.Here,we constructed a comprehensive atlas of PA at single-cell resolution and showed that PA exhibited five tumour subpopulations,three recapitulating the epithelial states of the normal parotid gland,and two PA-specific epithelial cell(PASE)populations unique to tumours.Then,six subgroups of PASE cells were identified,which varied in epithelium,bone,immune,metabolism,stemness and cell cycle signatures.Moreover,we revealed that CD36+myoepithelial cells were the tumour-initiating cells(TICs)in PA,and were dominated by the PI3K-AKT pathway.Targeting the PI3K-AKT pathway significantly inhibited CD36+myoepithelial cell-derived tumour spheres and the growth of PA organoids.Our results provide new insights into the diversity and origin of PA,offering an important clinical implication for targeting the PI3K-AKT signalling pathway in PA treatment.

Influences of interfacial damage on the effective wave velocity in composites with reinforced particles

First,the scattering of elastic waves by a spherical particle with imperfect interface,i.e. spring interface model,is studied. Then,the multiple scattering by random distributed particles with interfacial damage in a composite material is investigated. The equations to evaluate velocity and attenuation of effective waves defined by statistic averaging are given. Furthermore,based on the established relation between the effective velocity and interfacial constants,a method to evaluate the interfacial damage nondestructively from the ultrasonic measure data is proposed. The numerical simulation is performed for the Sic-Al composites. The effective velocity is computed to show the influences of interface damage. By using the genetic algorithm,the interfacial damage is evaluated from the synthetic experimental data with various levels of error. The numerical results show the feasibility of the method proposed to approximately evaluate the interfacial damage in a composite material with reinforced particles based on ultrasonic data.

Electrolyte additives play an important role in suppressing lithium dendrites through tailoring the composition/property of the SEI,however lacking of additives can achieve high performances both in ether and carbonate electrolytes hinders further enhancement of the high voltage lithium^-metal batteries.Here,lithium perchlorate(LiClO4)has been presented as an excellent additive to meet the above requirements.An optimized chemical composition of SEI can be achieved through the formation of ionic association.Our results indicate that the LiClO4 behaves like a catalyst,which promotes LiTFSI to form a better SEI to inhibit further reaction.Superior coulombic efficiencies and cycling performances were obtained both in ether and carbonate electrolytes.This study paves a new pathway for designing bi-soluble additives for safe lithium metal batteries.

Propagation of elastic wave in nanoporous material with distributed cylindrical nanoholes

The effective propagation constants of plane longitudinal and shear waves in nanoporous material with random distributed parallel cylindrical nanoholes are studied. The surface elastic theory is used to consider the surface stress effects and to derive the nontraditional boundary condition on the surface of nanoholes. The plane wave expansion method is used to obtain the scattering waves from the single nanohole. The multiple scattering effects are taken into consideration by summing the scat- tered waves from all scatterers and performing the configuration averaging of random distributed scatterers. The effective propagation constants of coherent waves along with the associated dynamic effective elastic modulus are numerically evaluat- ed. The influences of surface stress are discussed based on the numerical results.
