Charged metal-organic cages generally produce aggregates with various morphologies and different properties through the multiple supramolecular interactions in solution. Herein, a luminescent hexahedral metal-organic cage containing pyrene chromophores is successfully constructed through coordination-driven subcomponent self-assembly. The cage exhibits novel spontaneous aggregation in a dilute solution and time-dependent luminescence enhancement behavior during the subsequent incubation process. Dynamic light scatter(DLS) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM) results prove that the metalorganic cages can form blackberry-like aggregates in methanol dilute solution. Unexpectedly, the luminescent intensity of this system shows a linear increase with the extension of the incubation time in methanol, and this process is also reflected in the change in the quantum yield of the system(2% to over 80% after 5 days incubation time). Ultraviolet-visible(UV-vis),1 H nuclear magnetic resonance(1 H NMR) and mass spectra show that metal-organic cages can stably exist in dilute solution. Timedepended DLS and TEM data reveal that the aggregates of metal-organic cages are gradually changed from the dense state to the loose one, which may involve the transition of the system from an energy unstable state to a stable one, probably leading to the unusual time-dependent luminescent property. This unique time-dependent luminescent cage aggregate can be potentially applied as a “supramolecular time meter”.

AIM： To investigate the effect of transplanted fetal liver epithelial progenitor （FLEP） cells on liver fibrosis in mice. METHODS： FLEP cells were isolated from embryonal day （ED） 14 BALB/c mice and transplanted into female syngenic BALB/c mice （n = 60）. After partial hepatectomy （PH）, diethylnitrosamine （DEN） was administered to induce liver fibrosis. Controls received FLEP cells and non-supplemented drinking water, the model group received DEN-spiked water, and the experimental group received FLEP cells and DEN. Mice were killed after 1, 2, and 3 mo, and alanine aminotransferase （ALT）, aspartate aminotransferase （AST）, hyaluronic acid （HA）, and laminin （LN） in serum, and hydroxyproline （Hyp） content in liver were assessed. Alpha-smooth muscle actin （α-SMA） of liver was tested by immunohistochemistry. Transplanted male mice FLEP cells were identified by immunocytochemistry for sty （sex determination region for Y chromosome） protein. RESULTS： Serum ALT, AST, HA, and LN were markedly reduced by transplanted FLEP cells. Liver Hyp content and （α-SMA staining in mice receiving FLEP cells were lower than that of the model group, which was consistent with altered liver pathology. Transplanted cells proliferated and differentiated into hepatocytes and bile duct epithelial cells with 30%-50% repopulation in the liver fibrosis induced by DEN after 3 mo. CONCLUSION： Transplanted FLEP cells proliferate and differentiate into hepatocytes and bile duct epithelial cells with high repopulation capacity in the fiberized liver induced by DEN, which restores liver function and reduces liver fibrosis.

The equivalent damage calculation formulae of fatigue crack formation andgrowth are established. In order to compile the fatigue crack formation and growth accelerated loadspectra, the main wave shapes and load sequence of the actual load spectrum are kept constant, andthe carrier waves are cut off. And secondary waves are put together into new secondary waves toshorten the test time according to the equivalent damage calculation formulae respectively. Then bythe fatigue cumulative damage calculation of the fatigue crack formation and growth accelerated loadspectra, the one corresponding to the bigger damage is determined as the fatigue accelerated testload spectrum. Therefore in the test process, the fatigue accelerated test spectrum may be appliedtill fatigue failure, the engineering fatigue crack length of full-scale structure need not beinspected, and the fatigue crack formation accelerated load spectrum need not be transferred intothe fatigue crack growth accelerated load spectrum. Finally, it is verified by tests of two kinds ofspecimens that the damages of the specimens caused by the accelerated load spectra are near tothose by the actual load spectra; namely, the tested life of actual load spectra is similar to thatof accelerated load spectra. But the test time of accelerated load spectra is shortened by aboutthree-quarters that of actual load spectra. From these tests, it is also found that the fatigueaccelerated test spectrum has an advantage over FALSTAFF spectra.

以国际公认理论完美的维里(VIRIAL)状态方程为基础,建立了VLW炸药爆轰产物状态方程,简述了VLW炸药爆轰产物状态方程的形成背景,呈现了VLW方程的推导过程;应用VLW方程计算了军用高能炸药、民用工业炸药、凝聚相炸药、气相燃料空气炸药的爆轰性能参数,以及火箭推进燃烧性能参数,推导了爆轰产物的热力学函数(内能、熵、化学位等)。结果表明,应用VLW方程计算的参数结果准确合理;成功解决了高温下(T*>20)高级维里系数计算难题,准确表达了爆轰条件下的维里方程属性。

AIM： To investigate the anticancer activity of a chinese medical mixture, WRCP （warming and relieving Cold Phlegm）, on hepatocarcinoma Bel-7402 cells. METHODS： Fingerprints of WRCP, which were composed of aqueous extracts of Aconitum carmichae/i, Rhizoma bolbostemmatis, Phytolacca acinosa, Panax notoginseng and Gekko swinhonis Gdenther, and aconitine, which could be isolated from Aconitum carmichaeli and have the potential toxicity, were identified by high pressure liquid chromatography. Bel-7402 cells were grown in the presence of WRCP, As203 or all-trans-retinoic acid （ATRA）. Cell proliferation and viability were determined by trypan blue stain. Apoptosis and cell cycle of Bel-7402 cells were detected by flow cytometry. Morphologic and ultrastructural variations were determined under optic and electronic microscopy. The secretion of alpha-fetoprotein and albumin was detected by radioimmunoassay. RESULTS： The average quality of aconitine is 1.15：1： 0.10 μg per 7.5 g extracts. WRCP could suppress the proliferation and viability of Bel-7402 cells. The percentage of apoptosis cells and S phase cells increased on WRCP-treated cells. Treated with WRCP, Bel-7402 cells showed ultrastructural features of differentiation. The alpha-fetoprotein secretion decreased while the albumin secretion increased （P 〈 0.001, P 〈 0.001, respectively） markedly in WRCP-treated cells. CONCLUSION： WRCP can affect the proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis of Bel-7402 cells. It can arrest cells in S phase and has strong cytotoxicity to Bel-7402 cells.

American options can be exercised prior to the date of expiration, the valuation of American options then constitutes a free boundary value problem. How to determine the free boundary, i.e. the optimal exercise price, is a key problem. In this paper, a nonlinear equation is given. The free boundary can be obtained by solving the nonlinear equation and the numerical results are better.

A mixture of hepatic cells and chito- san/gelatin solution was deposited to construct a hepatic analog by way of layer-by-layer deposition technique using a home-made devise. The size and cell concentration of the analogs can be controlled freely. Approximately 90% of the hepatic cells re- mained viable under 0.2 Mpa extrusion pressure. Cultured in vitro 8 weeks before animal test, hepatic cells in structure maintained their phenotype and kept proliferating, and albumin and other secretion of the cells increased. Cords and hepaton-like structures were observed after culture for 20 d. These results indicate that hepatic cells could be assembled di- rectly into a 3D viable structure and expanded to form a hepatic organoid. This accomplishment is consid- ered to be an interesting means for the fabrication of liver replacements.

Combined MELD and blood lipid level in evaluating the prognosis of decompensated cirrhosis

AIM: To evaluate the prognostic value of the combined model for end-stage liver disease (MELD) and blood lipid level in patients with decompensated cirrhosis. METHODS: A total of 198 patients with decompensated cirrhosis were enrolled into the study. The values of triglyceride (TG), cholesterol (TC), high density lipoproteins (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL) of each patient on the fi rst day of admission were retrieved from the medical records, and MELD was calculated. All the patients were followed up for 1 year. The relationship between the change of blood lipid level and the value of MELD score was studied by analysis of variance. The prognostic factors were screened by multivariate Cox proportional hazard model. Draw Kaplan-Meier survival curves were drawn. RESULTS: Forty-f ive patients died within 3 mo and 83 patients died within 1 year. The levels of TG, TC, HDL and LDL of the death group were all lower than those of the survivors. The serum TG, TC, HDL and LDL levels were lowered with the increase of the MELD score. Multivariate Cox proportional hazard model showed that MELD ≥18 and TC ≤2.8 mmol/L were independent risk factors for prognosis of decompensated cirrhosis. Survival analysis showed that MELD ≥18 combined with TC ≤ 2.8 mmol/L can clearly discriminate between the patients who would survive and die in 1 year. CONCLUSION: MELD ≥18 and TC ≤2.8 mmol/L are two important indexes to predict the prognosis of patients with decompensated cirrhosis. Their combination can effectively predict the long-term prognosis of patients with decompensated cirrhosis.
