Sound insulation measurement of building components combining diffuse acoustic field excitation and near-field acoustic holography reconstruction

A method for measuring the airborne sound insulation of building components combining diffuse acoustic field(DAF) excitation and near-field acoustic holography(NAH)radiation intensity reconstruction is proposed. In this method, the DAF is first used to excite the vibration of the component and obtain the incident sound power, then the normal sound intensity distribution with high spatial resolution on the surface of the component is reconstructed from the radiation sound pressure field using the NAH, and finally, according to the sound intensity distribution, the radiated sound power is calculated and the radiation heat areas are located, so as to realize the measurement of sound insulation and sound insulation defects of components. The experimental research in a sound insulation room shows that under the condition that the test distance and sampling interval are both0.04 m, the error of the sound insulation measured by this method compared to the sound pressure method is less than 3.3 d B in the 100–5000 Hz frequency band and less than1.3 d B in the 250–3150 Hz frequency band, and the positioning accuracy of round holes(diameter: 8 mm) and rectangular slots(length: 80 mm, width: 3 mm) is up to the centimeter level. At the same time, the method has strong stability under the influence of certain amount of reverberation and background noise. When reverberation time in the receiving room increases from 1.0 s to 3.4 s(step size: 0.6 s), and the signal-to-noise ratio decreases from 10 d B to 0 d B(step size: 5 d B), the sound volume measurement errors are within 0.8 d B and 0.3 d B, and the defect location errors are within 0.037 m and 0.035 m.The proposed method helps to improve the measurement capability of sound insulation characteristics of building components in the laboratory, and it is robust to the receiving room test environment.

Source model of the 2018 M_(w)7.5 Papua New Guinea earthquake constrained by InSAR measurements: Insight into a blind rupture beneath the New Guinea Highlands

The Southern Highland Fold and Thrust Belt(SHFTB),the boundary of the Australian plate and the New Guinea Highland block,significantly contributes to the convergent deformation along the plate bound-ary.However,due to the lack of observation data,the detailed slip pattern of the SHFTB and the orogenic mechanism beneath the New Guinea Highlands remains controversial.On 25 February 2018,the M_(w)7.5 Papua New Guinea(PNG)earthquake struck the southeastern segment of the SHFTB.The detailed rupture characteristics of this event is significant for further clarifying the inter-seismic slip pattern along the SHFTB.Here,the coseismic deformation field of this earthquake was obtained using high-resolution ALOS-2 satellite images.We find that the 2018 M_(w)7.5 PNG earthquake ruptured a large-scaled fault(SHFTB)extending to the lower crust(deeper than 20 km)beneath the New Guinea Highlands,with a dip angle of 24°.The slips on the fault plane are equivalent to moment magnitudes of M_(w)7.51.Three major asperities with thrust-dominated slip of up to 3.94 m are detected on the fault plane.This finding implies that the slip pattern on the eastern segment of the SHFTB is dominated by thrust,rather than with significant sinistral movement,as previously reported.The tectonic deformation across the New Guinea Highlands is possibly concentrated on the large-scale fault SHFTB and primarily controls the intra-continental orogeny in the central Papua New Guinea.

Adhesion molecules mediate cell-to-cell and cell-to-extracellular matrix interactions and transmit mechanical and chemical signals among them.Various mechanisms deregulate adhesion molecules in cancer,enabling tumor cells to proliferate without restraint,invade through tissue boundaries,escape from immune surveillance,and survive in the tumor microenvironment.Recent studies have revealed that adhesion molecules also drive angiogenesis,reshape metabolism,and are involved in stem cell self-renewal.In this review,we summarize the functions and mechanisms of adhesion molecules in cancer and the tumor microenvironment,as well as the therapeutic strategies targeting adhesion molecules.These studies have implications for furthering our understanding of adhesion molecules in cancer and providing a paradigm for exploring novel therapeutic approaches.

Ferroptosis is an iron-dependent regulatory cell necrosis induced by iron overload and lipid peroxidation.It occurs when multiple redoxactive enzymes are ectopically expressed or show abnormal function.Hence,the precise regulation of ferroptosis-related molecules is mediated across multiple levels,including transcriptional,posttranscriptional,translational,and epigenetic levels.N^(6)-methyladenosine(m^(6)A)is a highly evolutionarily conserved epigenetic modification in mammals.The m^(6)A modification is commonly linked to tumor proliferation,progression,and therapy resistance because it is involved in RNA metabolic processes.Intriguingly,accumulating evidence suggests that dysregulated ferroptosis caused by the m^(6)A modification drives tumor development.In this review,we summarized the roles of m^(6)A regulators in ferroptosis-mediated malignant tumor progression and outlined the m^(6)A regulatory mechanism involved in ferroptosis pathways.We also analyzed the potential value and application strategies of targeting m^(6)A/ferroptosis pathway in the clinical diagnosis and therapy of tumors.

Cobalt-nitrogen co-doped porous carbon sphere as highly efficient catalyst for liquid-phase cyclohexane oxidation with molecular oxygen and the active sites investigation

The selective oxidation of cyclohexane to cyclohexanone and cyclohexanol(KA oil)is a challenging issue in the chemical industry.At present the industrial conversion of cyclohexane to cyclohexanone and cyclohexanol is normally controlled at less than 5%selectivity.Thus,the development of highly active and stable catalysts for the aerobic oxidation of cyclohexane is necessary to overcome this low-efficiency process.Therefore,we have developed a cobalt-nitrogen co-doped porous sphere catalyst,Co-NC-x(x is the Zn/Co molar ratio,where x=0,0.5,1,2,and 4)by pyrolyzing resorcinol-formaldehyde resin microspheres.It achieved 88.28%cyclohexanone and cyclohexanol selectivity and a cyclohexane conversion of 8.88%under Co-NC-2.The results showed that the introduction of zinc effectively alleviated the aggregation of Co nanoparticles and optimized the structural properties of the material.In addition,Co0 and pyridinic-N are proposed to be the possible active species,and their proportion efficiently increased in the presence of Zn^(2+)species.In this study,we developed a novel strategy to design highly active catalysts for cyclohexane oxidation.

Dynamic interactive bitwise meta-holography with ultra-high computational and display frame rates

Interactive holography offers unmatched levels of immersion and user engagement in the field of future display.Despite of the substantial progress has been made in dynamic meta-holography,the realization of real-time,highly smooth interactive holography remains a significant challenge due to the computational and display frame rate limitations.In this study,we introduced a dynamic interactive bitwise meta-holography with ultra-high computational and display frame rates.To our knowledge,this is the first reported practical dynamic interactive metasurface holographic system.We spa-tially divided the metasurface device into multiple distinct channels,each projecting a reconstructed sub-pattern.The switching states of these channels were mapped to bitwise operations on a set of bit values,which avoids complex holo-gram computations,enabling an ultra-high computational frame rate.Our approach achieves a computational frame rate of 800 kHz and a display frame rate of 23 kHz on a low-power Raspberry Pi computational platform.According to this methodology,we demonstrated an interactive dynamic holographic Tetris game system that allows interactive gameplay,color display,and on-the-fly hologram creation.Our technology presents an inspiration for advanced dynamic meta-holography,which is promising for a broad range of applications including advanced human-computer interaction,real-time 3D visualization,and next-generation virtual and augmented reality systems.

Efficient concentration of trace analyte with ordered hotspot construction for a robust and sensitive SERS platform

Surface-enhanced Raman scattering(SERS)platform,which enables trace analyte detection,has important application prospects.By structuring/modifying the surface of the SERSsubstrate,analyte in highly diluted solutions can be concentrated into localized active areas for highly sensitive detection.However,subject to the difficulty of the fabrication process,itremains challenging to balance hot-spot construction and the concentration capacity of analyte simultaneously.Therefore,preparing SERS substrates with densely ordered hot spots andefficient concentration capacity is of great significance for highly sensitive detection.Herein,we propose an Ag and fluoroalkyl-modified hierarchical armour substrate(Ag/F-HA),which has a double-layer stacking design to combine analyte concentration with hotspot construction.The microarmour structure is fabricated by femtosecond-laser processing to serve as asuperhydrophobic and low-adhesive surface to concentrate analyte,while the anodic aluminium oxide(AAO)template creates a nanopillar array serving as dense and ordered hot spots.Under the synergistic action of hot spots and analyte concentration,Ag/F-HA achieves a detectionlimit down to 10^(-7)M doxorubicin(DOX)molecules with a RSD of 7.69%.Additionally,Ag/F-HA exhibits excellent robustness to resist external disturbances such as liquid splash or abrasion.Based on our strategy,SERS substrates with directional analyte concentrations are further explored by patterning microcone arrays with defects.This work opens a way to the realistic implementation of SERS in diverse scenarios.

Support vector regression-based operational effectiveness evaluation approach to reconnaissance satellite system

As one of the most important part of weapon system of systems(WSoS),quantitative evaluation of reconnaissance satellite system(RSS)is indispensable during its construction and application.Aiming at the problem of nonlinear effectiveness evaluation under small sample conditions,we propose an evaluation method based on support vector regression(SVR)to effectively address the defects of traditional methods.Considering the performance of SVR is influenced by the penalty factor,kernel type,and other parameters deeply,the improved grey wolf optimizer(IGWO)is employed for parameter optimization.In the proposed IGWO algorithm,the opposition-based learning strategy is adopted to increase the probability of avoiding the local optima,the mutation operator is used to escape from premature convergence and differential convergence factors are applied to increase the rate of convergence.Numerical experiments of 14 test functions validate the applicability of IGWO algorithm dealing with global optimization.The index system and evaluation method are constructed based on the characteristics of RSS.To validate the proposed IGWO-SVR evaluation method,eight benchmark data sets and combat simulation are employed to estimate the evaluation accuracy,convergence performance and computational complexity.According to the experimental results,the proposed method outperforms several prediction based evaluation methods,verifies the superiority and effectiveness in RSS operational effectiveness evaluation.

Comprehensive Summary Currently,CRISPR/Cas9 technology has found widespread applications across various domains.However,the utility of CRISPR/Cas9 is encumbered by issues pertaining to its reliability and safety,primarily stemming from the uncontrolled activity of the system.Therefore,the design and development of CRISPR/Cas9 systems with controllable activity is of paramount importance.Biotin,characterized by its small molecular weight,and streptavidin,distinguished by its substantial spatial steric hindrance,can be harnessed as an ideal OFF switch(termed a"bioactivity brake")due to their interaction characteristics.In this work,we present a strategy that employs the streptavidin-biotin interaction as a"brake system"for CRISPR/Cas9,effectively allowing for the shutdown of the enzymatic activity of CRISPR/Cas9.

HSP110 aggravates ischemia-reperfusion injury after liver transplantation by promoting NF-κB pathway

Background:Ischemia-reperfusion injury(IRI)poses a significant challenge to liver transplantation(LT).The underlying mechanism primarily involves overactivation of the immune system.Heat shock protein 110(HSP110)functions as a molecular chaperone that helps stabilize protein structures.Methods:An IRI model was established by performing LT on Sprague-Dawley rats,and HSP110 was silenced using siRNA.Hematoxylin-eosin staining,TUNEL,immunohistochemistry,ELISA and liver enzyme analysis were performed to assess IRI following LT.Western blotting and quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction were conducted to investigate the pertinent molecular changes.Results:Our findings revealed a significant increase in the expression of HSP110 at both the mRNA and protein levels in the rat liver following LT(P<0.05).However,when rats were injected with siRNAHSP110,IRI subsequent to LT was notably reduced(P<0.05).Additionally,the levels of liver enzymes and inflammatory chemokines in rat serum were significantly reduced(P<0.05).Silencing HSP110 with siRNA resulted in a marked decrease in M1-type polarization of Kupffer cells in the liver and downregulated the NF-κB pathway in the liver(P<0.05).Conclusions:HSP110 in the liver promotes IRI after LT in rats by activating the NF-κB pathway and inducing M1-type polarization of Kupffer cells.Targeting HSP110 to prevent IRI after LT may represent a promising new approach for the treatment of LT-associated IRI.
