Wheat kinase TaSnRK2.4 forms a functional module with phosphatase TaPP2C01 and transcription factor TaABF2 to regulate drought response

SNF1-related protein kinase 2(SnRK2)family members are essential components of the plant abscisic acid(ABA)signaling pathway initiated by osmotic stress and triggering a drought stress response.This study characterized the molecular properties of TaSnRK2.4 and its function in mediating adaptation to drought in Triticum aestivum.Transcripts of TaSnRK2.4 were upregulated upon drought and ABA signaling and associated with drought-and ABA-responsive cis-elements ABRE and DRE,and MYB and MYC binding sites in the promoter as indicated by reporter GUS protein staining and activity driven by truncations of the promoter.Yeast two-hybrid,BiFC,and Co-IP assays indicated that TaSnRK2.4 protein interacts with TaPP2C01 and an ABF transcription factor(TF)TaABF2.The results suggested that TaSnRK2.4 forms a functional TaPP2C01-TaSnRK2.4-TaABF2 module with its upstream and downstream partners.Transgene analysis revealed that TaSnRK2.4 and TaABF2 positively regulate drought tolerance whereas TaPP2C01 acts negatively by modulating stomatal movement,osmotic adjustment,reactive oxygen species(ROS)homeostasis,and root morphology.Expression analysis,yeast one-hybrid,and transcriptional activation assays indicated that several osmotic stress-responsive genes,including TaSLAC1-4,TaP5CS3,TaSOD5,TaCAT1,and TaPIN4,are regulated by TaABF2.Transgene analysis verified their functions in positively regulating stomatal movement(TaSLAC1-4),proline accumulation(TaP5CS3),SOD activity(TaSOD5),CAT activity(TaCAT1),and root morphology(TaPIN4).There were high correlations between plant biomass and yield with module transcripts in a wheat variety panel cultivated under drought conditions in the field.Our findings provide insights into understanding plant drought response underlying the SnRK2 signaling pathway in common wheat.

Removal of ammonium ion from water by Na-rich birnessite:Performance and mechanisms

Na-rich birnessite（NRB） was synthesized by a simple synthesis method and used as a high-efficiency adsorbent for the removal of ammonium ion（NH＋4） from aqueous solution.In order to demonstrate the adsorption performance of the synthesized material,the effects of contact time,pH,initial ammonium ion concentration,and temperature were investigated.Adsorption kinetics showed that the adsorption behavior followed the pseudo second-order kinetic model.The equilibrium adsorption data were fitted to Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption models and the model parameters were evaluated.The monolayer adsorption capacity of the adsorbent,as obtained from the Langmuir isotherm,was 22.61 mg NH＋4-N/g at283 K.Thermodynamic analyses showed that the adsorption was spontaneous and that it was also a physisorption process.Our data revealed that the higher NH＋4adsorption capacity could be primarily attributed to the water absorption process and electrostatic interaction.Particularly,the high surface hydroxyl-content of NRB enables strong interactions with ammonium ion.The results obtained in this study illustrate that the NRB is expected to be an effective and economically viable adsorbent for ammonium ion removal from aqueous system.

A comparison study of the start-up of a MnO_x filter for catalytic oxidative removal of ammonium from groundwater and surface water

As an efficient method for ammonium（NH4~＋）removal,contact catalytic oxidation technology has drawn much attention recently,due to its good low temperature resistance and short start-up period.Two identical filters were employed to compare the process for ammonium removal during the start-up period for ammonium removal in groundwater（Filter-N）and surface water（Filter-S）treatment.Two types of source water（groundwater and surface water）were used as the feed waters for the filtration trials.Although the same initiating method was used,Filter-N exhibited much better ammonium removal performance than Filter-S.The differences in catalytic activity among these two filters were probed using X-ray diffraction（XRD）,scanning electron microscopy（SEM）,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS）,and compositional analysis.XRD results indicated that different manganese oxide species were formed in Filter-N and Filter-S.Furthermore,the Mn3p XPS spectra taken on the surface of the filter films revealed that the average manganese valence of the inactive manganese oxide film collected from Filter-S（FS-MnOx）was higher than in the film collected from Filter-N（FN-MnOx）.Mn（IV）was identified as the predominant oxidation state in FS-MnOxand Mn（III）was identified as the predominant oxidation state in FN-MnOx.The results of compositional analyses suggested that polyaluminum ferric chloride（PAFC）used during the surface water treatment was an important factor in the mineralogy and reactivity of MnOx.This study provides the theoretical basis for promoting the wide application of the technology and has great practical significance.

Fractional Order Modeling of Human Operator Behavior with Second Order Controlled Plant and Experiment Research

Modeling human operator's dynamics plays a very important role in the manual closed-loop control system, and it is an active research area for several decades. Based on the characteristics of human brain and behavior, a new kind of fractional order mathematical model for human operator in single-input single-output(SISO) systems is proposed. Compared with the traditional models based on the commonly used quasilinear transfer function method or the optimal control theory method, the proposed fractional order model has simpler structure with only few parameters, and each parameter has explicit physical meanings. The actual data and experiment results with the second-order controlled plant illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Spectrum Efficiency Maximization for Cooperative Power Beacon-Enabled Wireless Powered Communication Networks

We consider a spectrum efficiency(SE)maximization problem for cooperative power beacon-enabled wireless powered communication networks(CPB-WPCNs),where each transmitter harvests en-ergy from multi-antenna power beacons(PBs)and transmits data to the corresponding receiver.For data transmission,both orthogonal transmission,i.e.,the time splitting(TS)mode,and non-orthogonal trans-mission,i.e.,the interference channel(IC)mode,are considered.Aiming to improve the system SE,the energy beamformers of PBs,the transmit power,and the transmit time duration of transmitters are jointly optimized.For the TS mode,the original non-convex problem is transformed into a convex opti-mization problem by means of variable substitution and semidefinite relaxation(SDR).The rank-one na-ture of this SDR is proved,and then a Lagrange-dual based fast algorithm is proposed to obtain the opti-mal solution with much lower complexity.For the IC mode,to conquer the strong non-convexity of the problem,a branch-reduce-and-bound(BRB)mono-tonic optimization algorithm is designed as a bench-mark.Furthermore,a low-complexity distributed suc-cessive convex approximation(SCA)algorithm is pre-sented.Finally,simulation results validate the perfor-mance of the proposed algorithms,achieving optimal-ity within only 1%∼2%computation time compared to the CVX solver in the TS mode and achieving 98%of the optimal performance in the IC mode.

Monitoring the intracellular adenosine triphosphate(ATP)level is vital for elaborating its function in physiological states.However,the intracellular fluorescence sensing of ATP using ATP aptamer remains difficult owing to non-target displacement and susceptibility toward enzymatic degradation.Herein,by combining 2D Cu-MOF nanosheets and FAM labelled ATP aptamer,we developed a fluorescent Cu-MOFs/aptamer nanoprobe to image and sense intracellular ATP.This nanoprobe reveals a very low fluorescence intensity because of the excellent quenching efficiency of 2D Cu-MOF nanosheets.The presence of ATP was capable to dissociate the FAM-aptamer from Cu-MOF nanosheets and resulted in an intense fluorescence signal.The Cu-MOFs/aptamer nanoprobe enables highly sensitive and selective measurement of ATP level ranging from 10μM to 800μM with a detection limit of 4.24μM.This nanosystem also further realized in situ detection of the undulation of ATP trigged by drug stimulation,depending on the selective delivery of the nanoprobe and attractive capability of resisting nonspecific displacement.The constructed nanoprobe may supply a potential platform in clinical diagnostics and biological studies.

为深入挖掘录波波形在配电终端健康状态评估中的作用,提出了一种基于层次聚类与层次分析相结合的配电终端健康状态评估方法。通过动态时间规整(Dynamic Time Warping,DTW)算法计算源信号波形与终端录波波形的距离。将各指标对终端采样的影响两两比较,构建比较矩阵,进行层次分析,计算各指标权重。将权重与各指标下的聚类结果相结合,提出适用于终端采样波形全局对比的评估体系。通过计算源信号波形与终端采样波形之间的相似度,与评估体系比较判定终端的健康状态,实验证明该方法能为配电终端的健康状态评估提供数据支撑。

核因子-κB(nuclear factor-kappa B,NF-κB)信号通路与抑郁症的发生发展密切相关,在抑郁症所致炎症、应激反应、细胞分化和增殖及细胞凋亡过程中发挥着重要作用。中医药能够通过调控NF-κB信号通路有效治疗抑郁症,包括常见的黄酮类、酚类及三萜类等化合物单体,经典的中医方剂及针灸、功法、耳穴等其他中医疗法。现有研究存在一定的局限性,如NF-κB信号通路与其他信号通路之间的相关性尚未明确,今后可进一步设计多角度的实验研究,丰富实验结果;中药复方作用于NF-κB信号通路的具体成分并不确定,可通过生物信息学、代谢组学和高通量质谱等新型生物技术进行深入的探究,为抑郁症的防治提供新思路和新方向。

Multi-Objective Optimal Dispatch Considering Wind Power and Interactive Load for Power System

With the rapid and large-scale development of renewable energy, the lack of new energy power transportation or consumption, and the shortage of grid peak-shifting ability have become increasingly serious. Aiming to the severe wind power curtailment issue, the characteristics of interactive load are studied upon the traditional day-ahead dispatch model to mitigate the influence of wind power fluctuation. A multi-objective optimal dispatch model with the minimum operating cost and power losses is built. Optimal power flow distribution is available when both generation and demand side participate in the resource allocation. The quantum particle swarm optimization (QPSO) algorithm is applied to convert multi-objective optimization problem into single objective optimization problem. The simulation results of IEEE 30-bus system verify that the proposed method can effectively reduce the operating cost and grid loss simultaneously enhancing the consumption of wind power.

为减少马铃薯采收后病虫害、块茎萌发等造成的损失,通常将马铃薯置于2~5℃低温环境贮存,但随马铃薯块茎贮存时间推移,葡萄糖、果糖等还原糖积累过多,发生“低温糖化”(Cold-induced sweetening,CIS)。过高含量的还原糖与游离氨基酸在高温油炸过程中发生化学反应,产生褐色、味苦的物质,严重影响马铃薯加工质量。因此,控制马铃薯低温糖化是马铃薯加工产业链高效运转的关键。综述总结前人研究进展,从低温条件下淀粉-糖代谢响应和马铃薯块茎微观结构变化两个方面,解释低温糖化现象成因,概括马铃薯品种、贮藏条件、植物激素因素对低温糖化的影响,并从分子育种和外源施加植物激素两个方面对调控马铃薯低温糖化提出建议及展望。
