In this p.p.r. we study gr.dient estimates for.the nonlinear.heat equation ut △u =au log u, on comp.ct r.emannian manifold with or.without boundar.. We get a Hamilton typ. gr.dient estimate for.the p.sitive smooth solution to the equation on close manifold, and obtain a Li-Yau typ. gr.dient estimate for.the p.sitive smooth solution to the equation on comp.ct manifold with nonconvex boundar..

On the Conditions of Extending Mean Cur.atur. Flow

The author. consider.a family of smooth immer.ions F（., t）：M^n→r.n＋1 of closed hyp.r.ur.aces in r.n＋1 moving by the mean cur.atur. flow F（p.t）/ t=-H（p.t）.v（p.t） for.t E [0, T）. They show that if the nor. of the second fundamental for. is bounded above by some p.wer.of mean cur.atur. and the cer.ain subcr.tical quantities concer.ing the mean cur.atur. integr.l ar. bounded, then the flow can extend p.st time T. The r.sult is similar.to that in [6-9].
