The biosynthesis of bioactive secondary metabolites,specifically antibiotics,is of great scientific and economic *** control of antibiotic production typically involves different processes and molecular *** numerous efforts to improve antibiotic yields,joint engineering strategies for combining genetic manipulation with fermentation optimization remain *** A(Lin-A),a lincosamide antibiotic,is industrially fermented by Streptomyces ***,the leucine-responsive regulatory protein(Lrp)-type regulator SLCG_4846 was confirmed to directly inhibit the lincomycin biosynthesis,whereas indirectly controlled the transcription of SLCG_2919,the first reported repressor in *** of SLCG_4846 in the high-yield *** LA219X(LA219XΔ4846)increases the Lin-A production and deletion of SLCG_2919 in LA219XΔ4846 exhibits superimposed yield *** the effect of the double deletion on cellular primary metabolism of ***,Plackett-Burman design,steepest ascent and response surface methodologies were utilized and employed to optimize the seed medium of this double mutant in shake flask,and Lin-A yield using optimal seed medium was significantly increased over the *** strategies were performed in a 15-L *** maximal yield of Lin-A in LA219XΔ4846-2919 reached 6.56 g/L at 216 h,55.1%higher than that in LA219X at the parental cultivation(4.23 g/L).This study not only showcases the potential of this strategy to boost lincomycin production,but also could empower the development of high-performance actinomycetes for other antibiotics.

Urban Vulnerability and Adaptability to Climate Change: A Case Study of Cities in the Yangtze River Delta

The cities of the Yangtze River Delta are densely populated with large amounts of wealth, for which reason they are faced with greater disaster risks brought by climate change. As a major research tool on climate change policies, vulnerability assessment provides reference for adaptive management. Based on literature review and case study, the paper first constructs the overall vulnerability assessment model for cities of the Yangtze River Delta by utilizing the indices of sensitivity and adaptability. Then, it assesses 16 typical cities of this region through factor analysis, an objective evaluation method, analyzes the driving factors of climate vulnerability in each city and conducts group comparisons according to their sensitivity and adaptability. Finally,it points out the importance of cities’ adaptability to climate change under multiple pressures of climate change, population growth and urbanization in the future, and gives some suggestions,such as strengthening risk assessment on climate change, including climate-proofing measures in urban development planning, protecting climatically vulnerable groups in cities, enhancing comprehensive capacities for disaster management in cities and encouraging the R&D and innovation on adaptation technologies.

Random Projection Code (RPC) is a mechanism that combines channel coding and modulation together and realizes rate adaptation in the receiving end. Random projection code’s mapping matrix has significant influences on decoding performance as well as hardware implementation complexity. To reduce hardware implementation complexity, we design a quasi-cyclic mapping matrix for RPC codes. Compared with other construction approaches, our design gets rid of data filter component, thus reducing chip area 7284.95 um2, and power consumption 331.46 uW in 0.13 um fabrication. Our simulation results show that our method does not cause any performance loss and even gets 0.2 dB to 0.5 dB gain at BER 10-4.

Cross-sections for electronic excitation and de-excitation among the ground state and lowest-lying seven electronic excited states of carbon monoxide(CO)by low-energy electron impact are computed using the R-matrix *** excitation cross-sections from the ground state to the electronic states a^(3)Π,a'^(3)Σ^(+)+and A^(1)Πagree with previous experimental and theoretical *** addition,the cross-sections for the I^(1)Σ^(+)-and D^(1)Δstates of CO,which will cascade to CO a'^(3)Σ^(+)+and A^(1)Πstates,are ***,in contrast to the typical increase in electronic excitation cross-sections with collision energy,the de-excitation cross-sections show a negative trend with increasing energy.

Preparation of Liquor Flavoring from Yellow Water Based on Water Absorbent Resin

[Objective] This study was conducted to extract the scarce natural liquor flavorings desired by many liquor factories from yellow water. [Method] Strong water absorbent resin was used to absorb moisture from the yellow water in order to concentrate it into dense yellow water at first, followed by azcotropic dis- tillation of the previously concentrated yellow water, and then, catalytic esterification was performed to the remaining liquid after the distillation. [ Results] The 7. 066 7 fractions of concentrated yellow water with 56.7% ethanol could be obtained after the treatment of 100 fractions of yellow water with strong water absorbent resin. Azeotrope of 0.432 8 fraction of natural acetaldehyde, 0. 269 4 fraction of ethyl formate and methyl alcohol, 0. 975 0 fraction of ethyl acetate and methyl alco- hol could be obtained after the azeotropic distillation per 100 fractions of concentrated yellow water. After the addition of CaC12, O. 220 7 fraction of ethyl formate and 0. 514 2 fraction of ethyl acetate could be obtained after distillation of the azeotrope. Finally, 92. 094 8 fractions of esterification liquid with 38 kinds of flavor- ing compound could be obtained after catalytic esterification of 100 fractions of concentrated yellow water, and the content of ethyl acetate, ethyl propionate, ethyl- butyrate, ethyl valerate, ethyl lactate and ethyl bexanoate were as much as 142.9, 22.2, 54.2, 3.3,75.4 and 158.9 g/L, respectively. [ Conclusion] Top-grade Luzhou-flavor liquor could be made by mixing 6.5 fractions of common liquor with acetaldehyde, ethyl formate, ethyl acetate and esterification liquid which were ob- tained from 1 fraction of yellow water. Therefore, the yellow water has a great recycling value, and it tells us that the technique of extracting liquor flavorings from yellow water has tremendous market value.

Western China is typically sensitive to climate change and ecologically *** also has large numbers of people living in poverty,and it is a hot spot for *** paper takes the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region(NHAR) as a case and,employing a mixed-method research combining exploratory research and confirmatory research where quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis are made,conducts an empirical study on the dynamics of climate change impacts on ***,this paper identified the fragile characteristics of different types of migrant groups(including policy-facilitated migrants,voluntary migrants and economic migrants)in the context of climate change;secondly,based on confirmatory factor analysis,this paper conducted climate change vulnerability assessment at county level,and explored several common potential factors affecting the regional fragility of climate change in Ningxia,include:climate capacity,social and economic development level,human capital,transportation infrastructure,and education level,*** result shows that the climate capacity factor accounts for 37.5% of contribution to regional climate change *** paper justified that lacking climate capacity in long-term climate change is the major driving factor of climate-induced poverty and migration in the middle and south *** on a DPISR model,this paper developed a theoretical framework with its core concept "climate capacity".Within this analytical framework,a series of indicators on climate capacity and climate-induced poverty were suggested to assess climate change related migration risks,which can support local migration planning in Ningxia and other western China areas.

Limiting climate change to 1.5℃ and achieving net-zero emissions would entail substantial carbon dioxide removal(CDR) from the atmosphere by the mid-century,but how much CDR is needed at country level over time is *** purpose of this paper is to provide a detailed description of when and how much CDR is required at country level in order to achieve 1.5℃ and how much CDR countries can carry out *** allocate global CDR pathways among 170 countries according to 6 equity principles and assess these allocations with respect to countries’ biophysical and geophysical capacity to deploy *** global CDR to countries based on these principles suggests that CDR will,on average,represent～4% of nations’ total emissions in 2030,rising to ～17% in ***,equitable allocations of CDR,in many cases,exceed implied land and carbon storage *** estimate～15 % of countries(25)would have insufficient land to contribute an equitable share of global CDR,and ～40% of countries(71)would have insufficient geological storage *** more diverse CDR technologies are developed,the mismatch between CDR liabilities and land-based CDR capacities will lead to global demand for six GtCO2carbon credits from 2020 to *** demonstrates an imperative demand for international carbon trading of CDR.
