Promoting effect of feOx addition on the mechanochemically prepared vanadium-based catalyst for real PCDD/fs removal and mechanism insight

Industrial-use VOx-based catalysts usually have a higher active temperature window (>250-300℃),which becomes a“bottleneck”for the practical application of PCDD/fs catalytic degradation *** this work,VO_(x)-feO_(x)/TiO_(2) catalyst prepared via mechanochemically method was investigated for the catalytic removal of PCDD/*** removal efficiency of 1,2-DCBz,pure PCDD/fs gas generated in the lab,PCDD/fs from actual fue gas,long-term were studied,and the degradation mechanism was explored using fTIR and *** degradation efficiency of 1,2-DCBz and PCDD/fs on VO_(x)-feO_(x)/TiO_(2) were higher than that of VO_(x)/TiO_(2)catalyst,and the optimal feOx addition ratio was 3 wt.%.The characterization results show that the addition of feOx can effectively improve the pore structure,surface acidity,and VOx dispersion of the catalyst,thus contributing to increasing the V^(5+)content and surface-active oxygen,which is conducive to the improvement of adsorption and redox performance of the *** the actual MSWI (municipal solid waste incineration)fue gas,the PCDD/fs removal efficiency over VTi-3fe-MC maintained long-term stability,higher than 85%for 240 *** result was not significantly reduced compared with the data obtained in the *** to the analysis results of intermediate products by fTIR and GC-TOfMS,it can be inferred that the epoxidation fracture of benzene ring is the rate-limiting step of dioxin catalytic degradation *** work gives an in-depth view into the PCDD/fs removal over VO_(x)-feO_(x)/TiO_(2) catalysts and could provide guidelines for the rational design of reliable catalysts for industrial applications.

Soil bacterial and f.ngal communities resilience to long-term nitrogen addition in subtropical forests in China

Atmospheric nitrogen(n)deposition is predicted to increase,especially in the ***,the responses of soil microorganisms to long-term n addition at the molecular level in n-rich subtropical forests have not been clarified.A long-term nutrient addition experiment was conducted in a subtropical evergreen old-growth forest in *** four treatments were:control,low n(50 kg n ha^(-1)a^(-1)),high n(100 kg n ha^(-1)a^(-1)),and combined n and phosphorus(P)(100 kg n ha^(-1)a^(-1)+50 kg P ha^(-1)a^(-1)).Metagenomic sequencing characterized diversity and composition of soil microbial communities and used to construct bacterial/f.ngal co-occurrence ***-treated soils were more acidic and had higher levels of dissolved organic carbon than *** were no significant differences in microbial diversity and community composition across *** addition of.nutrients increased the abundance of copiotrophic bacteria and potentially beneficial microorganisms(e.g.,Gemmatimonadetes,Chaetomium,and Aureobasidium).Low n addition increased microbiome network *** rare f.ngi were identified as module hubs under nutrient addition,indicating that low abundance f.ngi were more sensitive to increased *** results indicate that the overall composition of microbial communities was stable but not static to long-term n *** f.ndings provide new insights that can aid predictions of the response of soil microbial communities to long-term n addition.

The photocatalytic decontamination of organic pollutants is an environmentally friendly and efficient water treatment *** introduction of vacancies,heterojunctions,and doping can enhance the performance of photocatalysts for such *** this study,n,O double-vacancy Ce-ZnO/g-C_(3)n_(4)S-scheme heterojunction photocatalysts were prepared,It is found that the electron separation and transfer efficiencies are considerably improved by the presence of.nitrogen vacancies in graphitic ca rbon nitride(g-C_(3)n_(4))and oxygen vacancies in ZnO,in addition to the S-scheme heterojunction created between the two *** the degradation of methylene blue and ciprofloxacin,the degradation rates exhibited by Ce-ZnO/g-C_(3)n_(4)are significantly higher than those of the g=C_(3)n_(4)/ZnO *** remarkable photocatalytic performance of Ce-ZnO/g-C_(3)n_(4)may result from three key factors;(ⅰ)Ce doping,which produces impurity energy levels;(ⅱ)the generation of electron capture centres by the n and O vacancies;and(ⅲ)the synergistic effect of the S-type heterojunction formed at the interface between the two materials,This study therefore provides new approaches for the use of doping,vacancies,and heterojunctions to induce the efficient degradation of organic pollutants.

Characteristics of Elderly-Onset Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients With COVID-19

This study aimed to investigate the clinical characteristics of elderly-onset rheumatoid arthritis(EORA)patients with *** ret-rospectively enrolled EORA patients diagnosed with COVID-19 from December 2022 through february 2023 and followed them *** characteristics of the patients and clinical data on COVID-19 were collected,and EORA-related data at the onset of rheu-matoid arthritis and during COVID-19 episodes were evaluated.A total of 102 EORA outpatients were enrolled and stratified into the COVID-19 group(n=60)and the non–COVID-19 group(n=42).In the COVID-19 group,56(93.3%)had symptoms,8(13.3%)had viral pneumonia,and 4(6.7%)developed severe *** logistic regression analysis showed that lack of COVID-19 vac-cination(P=0.016 and P=0.030,respectively)and having interstitial lung disease(P=0.013 and P=0.001,respectively)were inde-pendent risk factors for viral pneumonia and severe *** with the general population,EORA patients did not show significantly higher susceptibility to COVID-19 or a higher risk of severe ***,EORA patients with interstitial lung disease require special consideration during COVID-19 episodes.

Effects of synthesis parameters on the performance of crosslinked Co-polymers with clays for conformance control

Conformance control or water shut-off is a technique used to improve oil *** conformance control,polymers block high permeability water areas and redistribute water drive toward unswept oil *** this study,co-polymers(denoted ATP-PGV/AM-co-AMPS)were synthesized using acrylamide(AM)and 2-acrylamide-2-methylpropane sulf.nic acid(AMPS)as the monomers,polyethylene glycol(PEG)-200 and methylenebisacrylamide(MBA)as the crosslinkers,attapulgite(ATP)and bentonite(PGV)as the clay types,and ammonium persulfate(APS)as the initiator,in addition to paraff.n oil and *** were synthesized using inverse emulsion polymerization with different concentrations of monomers,crosslinkers,and clays,and they were characterized using fourier-transform infrared(fTIR)spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy(SEM)with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX).fTIR spectra of the samples confirmed the existence of sulf.nate and hydroxyl groups,which are important for polymer ***-EDX images indicated that the morphology and elemental composition were different before and after swelling,confirming the occurrence of ***,samples were placed in sodium chloride solution(20,000 ppm)for 7 days to evaluate swelling at both room temperature and 90°*** analysis(TGA)and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)were used to determine the thermal characteristics of the ***,rheological measurements were used to assess the deformation and rheological behavior of the *** results showed that after 1 day,good swelling without loss of mechanical strength was achieved with the composite synthesized using 10%AM,15%AMPS,6%PGV,and 10%ATP.

Effect of preload forces on multidimensional signal dynamic behaviours for battery early safety warning

Providing early safety warning for batteries in real-world applications is *** this study,comprehensive thermal abuse experiments are conducted to clarify the multidimensional signal evolution of battery failure under various preload *** time-sequence relationship among expansion force,voltage,and temperature during thermal abuse under five categorised stages is *** characteristic peaks are identified for the expansion force,which correspond to venting,internal short-circuiting,and thermal *** particular,an abnormal expansion force signal can be detected at temperatures as low as 42.4°C,followed by battery thermal runaway in approximately 6.5 ***,reducing the preload force can improve the effectiveness of the early-warning method via the expansion ***,reducing the preload force from 6000 to 1000 n prolongs the warning time(i.e.,227 to 398 s)before thermal runaway is *** on the results,a notable expansion force early-warning method is proposed that can successfully enable early safety warning approximately 375 s ahead of battery thermal runaway and effectively prevent failure propagation with module *** study provides a practical reference for the development of timely and accurate early-warning strategies as well as guidance for the design of safer battery systems.

Mathematical modeling and simulations of stress mitigation by coating polycrystalline particles in lithium-ion batteries

A chemo-mechanical model is developed to investigate the effects on the stress development of the coating of polycrystalline ni-rich LinixMnyCo_(z)O_(2)(x≥0.8)(nMC)particles with poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)(PEDOT).The simulation results show that the coating of primary nMC particles significantly reduces the stress generation by efficiently accommodating the volume change associated with the lithium diffusion,and the coating layer plays roles both as a cushion against the volume change and a channel for the lithium transport,promoting the lithium distribution across the secondary particles more ***,the lower stif.ness,higher ionic conductivity,and larger thickness of the coating layer improve the stress *** paper provides a mathematical framework for calculating the chemo-mechanical responses of anisotropic electrode materials and f.ndamental insights into how the coating of.nMC active particles mitigates stress levels.

Directed x-rays produced in the interaction of sub-picosecond laser pulses of moderate relativistic intensity with plasma of.near-critical density are investigated. Synchrotron-like (betatron) radiation occurs in the process of direct laser acceleration (DLA) of electrons in a relativisticlaser channel when the electrons undergo transverse betatron oscillations in self-generated quasi-static electric and magnetic fields. In anexperiment at the PHELIX laser system, high-current directed beams of DLA electrons with a mean energy ten times higher than the ponderomotive potential and maximum energy up to 100 MeV were measured at 10^(19) W/cm^(2)laser intensity. The spectrum of directed x-raysin the range of 5–60 keV was evaluated using two sets of Ross filters placed at 0°and 10°to the laser pulse propagation axis. The differential x-ray absorption method allowed for absolute measurements of the angular-dependent photon fluence. We report 10^(13) photons/sr withenergies >5 keV measured at 0°to the laser axis and a brilliance of 10^(21) photons s^(−1) mm^(−2) mrad−2(0.1%BW)−1. The angular distributionof the emission has an fWHM of 14°–16°. Thanks to the ultra-high photon fluence, point-like radiation source, and ultra-short emissiontime, DLA-based keV backlighters are promising for various applications in high-energy-density research with kilojoule petawatt-class laserfacilities.
