Biologics play an essential role in treating various indications from cancers to the metabolic diseases,while the current development of new classes of intracellular-acting protein drugs is still hindered because of high molecular mass and overall hydrophilicity of proteins creating extremely poor permeability across cell ***,there remains an unmet need to develop safe,potent approaches to augment intracellular protein delivery ***,we described a facile multicomponent reaction system for generating a small library of redox-responsive cationic polypeptoids with high *** co-assembly of optimized polymer with protein leads to the formation of compacted nanocomplexes with smaller size and high encapsulation efficiency,thus improving cellular internalization via the macropinocytosis and/or caveolae-mediated endocytosis *** endo-lysosomal escape,the nanocomplexes can be disassociated to efficiently release cargo proteins into the cytosol,owing to the intracellular glutathione(GSH)-triggered rapid cleavage of disulfide bonds in polymers *** a result,we screened a promising platform reagent for efficient cytosolic protein delivery application.

This paper gives a detailed introduction to the biotic resources in Panxi Area and lists the most typical biotic resources in this area. The authors of this paper adopt the biotic resource abundance evaluation index model R1= （S0t -- S1t ） × S1i-1 （i= 1,2,3, …n） to make a quantitative calculation of the biotic resource abundance in this area, and the calculation results show that this area abounds in biotic resources. Through the analysis of the causes of abundant biotic resources in this area, the luxuriant biotic resources in Panxi Area are largely attributed to the complex and varied environment, atrocious climate in history and the introduction of alien species. The purpose of this paper is to point out that biotic resource exploitation is one of the driving forces of economic development in this area, and to emphasize the necessity of biotic resource preservation and its harmonious development with the environment.

Global climate change has been seen to result in marked impacts on forest ecosystems such as accelerated tree mortality worldwide due to incidental hydraulic failure caused by intensified and more frequent occurrence of extreme drought and ***,it is well understood how the tree hydrological strategies would adjust to environmental variability brough about by climate *** we investigated the hydraulic adjustment as a mechanism of acclimation to different climate conditions along an altitudinal gradient in Faxon fir(Abies fargesii ***)–a tree species that plays a key role in conservation of wildlife and maintenance of ecosystem services in subalpine *** hydraulic traits and selective morphological and physiological variables were measured seasonally along an altitudinal gradient from 2,800 to 3,600 m *** found that the native percentage loss of conductivity(PLC)increased with altitude across the seasonal *** the native sapwood-specific hydraulic conductivity(Ks)and native leaf-specific hydraulic conductivity(Kl)significantly decreased with altitude for measurements in July and October,coinciding with the timing for peak growth and pre-dormancy,*** morphological traits varied toward more conservative tree hydrological strategies with increases in altitude,exhibiting trade-offs with hydraulic *** total non-structural carbohydrates in both needle(NSCNeedle)and branch(NSCBranch)as well as photosynthetic capacity of current-year leaves played variable roles in maintaining the integrity of the hydraulic functioning and shaping the hydraulic adjustment under prevailing environmental *** findings indicate that Faxon fir possesses some degree of hydraulic adaptability to water limitation imposed by climate fluctuations in subalpine region through morphological and physiological modifications.

A central paradigm in nanomedicine is that when synthetic nanoparticles(NPs)enter the body,they are immediately cloaked by a corona of macromolecules(mostly proteins)that mediates the role of the physico-chemical properties in the NP biological functions(the“coronation paradigm”).In this work,we focused on the assessment of the“coronation paradigm”for cationic NPs(cNPs)used as rheumatoid arthritis(RA)drugs due to their ability to scavenge cell-free DNA(cfDNA).We fabricated series of cNPs uniformly coated with single or di-hydroxyl groups and different types of amino groups and showed that hydroxylated nanoparticles displayed a prolonged retention in inflamed joints and greater anti-inflammatory effect in collagen-induced arthritis(CIA)rats than the non-hydroxylated ***,the cNPs with secondary amines and a di-hydroxyl shell showed the best performance among the tested *** analysis showed that the cNPs with a di-hydroxyl shell adsorbed less opsonin proteins than the cNPs carrying mono hydroxyl groups and non-hydroxylated ones,which may provide a mechanistic explanation for the different biodistribution profiles of ***,this study suggests that the protein corona mediates the effects of the surface chemistry on the fate and functions of cNPs as anti-RA drugs.

A new compoud based on carbazole functionalized β-diketone-boron difluoride(1) was *** is found that compoud 1 can gel toluene,ethylbenzene and some mixed solvents,and 3D networks consisting lots of nanofibers were observed using SEM and fluorescence *** molecular packing model in xerogel 1 was proposed according to the results of XRD,UV/Vis absorption and semiempirical *** obtained nanofibers prepared through organogelation can emit strong orange light under *** is interesting that the fluorescence of the nanofiber-based film can be quenched quickly and significantly upon exposed to the vapors of n-butylamine,dibutylamine,triethylamine,triethylamine,cyclohexylamine,aniline and pyridine instead of other common ***,the response time of the nanofiber-based film to aniline vapor reached ca.0.59 s,and the detection limit for aniline was as low as ca.0.83 mL/m 3.

Soil Microbial Population Dynamics along a Chronosequence of Moist Evergreen Broad-leaved Forest Succession in Southwestern China

Little is known about whether soil microbial population dynamics are correlated with forest *** test the hypotheses that(1) soil microbial composition changes over successional stages,and(2) soil microbial diversity is positively correlated with plant species diversity,we determined the soil microbial populations,community composition,and microflora diversity in evergreen broad-leaved forests along a chronosequence of vegetation succession from 5 to 300 years in southwestern *** soil microbial community was mainly composed of bacteria(87.1-98.7% of the total microorganisms and 10 genera identified),fungi(0.3-4.0%,7 genera),and actinomycetes(2.1-9.1%,8 species and 1 genus).There were significant differences in soil microbial populations among different successional stages and within the four *** seasonal variations of the soil microbial community may be associated with the seasonal changes in environmental *** changes in soil microbial diversity(Shannon-Wiener index) with successional time followed one-humped,convex curves peaked at-100 years since restoration,which is identical with the trends of the aboveground plant *** plant diversity resulting in enhanced nutrient flow and root exudation may contribute to positive relationships between the soil microbial diversity and plant ***,decreases in soil microbial diversity in the late-successional stages appear to be related to the net loss in species richness that occurs after 100 years since *** findings confirm the intermediate disturbance hypothesis that suggests diversity peaks at midsuccessional stages.
