Alleviating eutrophication by reducing the abundance of Cyanophyta due to dissolved inorganic carbon fertilization:Insights from Erhai Lake,China

The eutrophication of lakes is a global environmental *** nitrogen(N)and phosphorus(P)on phytoplankton is considered to be the most important basis of lake eutrophication ***,the effects of dissolved inorganic carbon(DIC)on phytoplankton and its role in mitigating lake eutrophication have often been *** this study,the relationships between phytoplankton and DIC concentrations,carbon isotopic composition,nutrients(N and P),and hydrochemistry in the Erhai Lake(a karst lake)were *** results showed that when the dissolved carbon dioxide(CO_(2)(aq))concentrations in the water were higher than 15μmol/L,the productivity of phytoplankton was controlled by the concentrations of TP and TN,especially by that of *** the N and P were sufficient and the CO_(2)(aq)concentrations were lower than 15μmol/L,the phytoplankton productivity was controlled by the concentrations of TP and DIC,especially by that of ***,DIC significantly affected the composition of the phytoplankton community in the lake(p<0.05).When the CO_(2)(aq)concentrations were higher than 15μmol/L,the relative abundance of Bacillariophyta and Chlorophyta was much higher than those of harmful ***,high concentrations of CO_(2)(aq)can inhibit harmful Cyanophyta blooms.

Sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)have become an auspicious candidate for largescale energy storage by cause of low cost,natural abundance,and similar working principle with lithium-ion batteries(LIBs).At present,there is an urgent need to explore superior anode materials with rapid and stable sodiation/***,3D self-assembled VS4 curly nanosheets hierarchitectures(VS4-CN-Hs)are developed for SIB anodes,where VS4 possesses a large theoretical sodium storage capacity,and the building block of nanosheets has large exposed surface area to the electrolyte as well as the constructed hierarchitectures can provide abundant buffer space to alleviate the volume *** a result,VS4-CN-Hs anode possesses excellent electrochemical performance under a wide voltage window of 0.01–3.0 V,such as high reversible capacity of 863 mA h g^(−1) at 0.1 A g^(−1),marvelous rate feature(444 mA h g^(−1) at 10 A g^(−1)),and extralong cycle stability(386 mA h g^(−1) after 1000 times at 5 A g^(−1)).

Chemotherapy and resection for gastric cancer with synchronous liver metastases

AIM: To investigate the effect of surgery and chemotherapy for gastric cancer with multiple synchronous liver metastases (GCLM). METHODS: A total of 114 patients were entered in this study, and 20 patients with multiple synchronous liver metastases were eligible. After screening with preoperative chemotherapy, 20 patients underwent curative gastrectomy and hepatectomy for GCLM; 14 underwent major hepatectomy, and the remaining six underwent minor hepatectomy. There were 94 patients without aggressive treatment, and they were in the non-operative group. Two regimens of perioperative chemotherapy were used: S-1 and cisplatin (SP) in 12 patients, and docetaxel, cisplatin and 5-fluorouracil (DCF) in eight patients. These GCLM patients were given preoperative chemotherapy consisting of two courses chemotherapy of SP or DCF regimens. After chemotherapy, gastrectomy and hepatectomy were preformed. Evaluation of patient survival was by follow-up contact using telephone and outpatient records. All patients were assessed every 3 mo during the first year and every 6 mo thereafter. RESULTS: Twenty patients underwent gastrectomy and hepatectomy and completed their perioperative chemotherapy and hepatic arterial infusion before and after surgery. Ninety-four patients had no aggressive treatment of liver metastases because of technical difficulties with resection and severe cardiopulmonary dysfunction. In the surgery group, there was no toxicity greater than grade 3 during the course of chemotherapy. The response rate was 100% according to the Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors Criteria. For all 114 patients, the overall survival rate was 8.0%, 4.0%, 4.0% and 4.0% at 1, 2, 3 and 4 years, respectively, with a median survival time (MST) of 8.5 mo (range: 0.5-48 mo). For the 20 patients in the surgery group, MST was 22.3 mo (range: 4-48 mo). In the 94 patients without aggressive treatment, MST was 5.5 mo (range: 0.5-21 mo). Association of polymorphisms of A260G and A386G in DAZL gene with male infertility： a meta-analysis and systemic review

To investigate the association of single nucleotide polymorphism 260 and 386 （SNP260 and SNP386） gene with male infertility, an electronic search was performed to identify case-control studies evaluating the relationship of SNP260 or SNP386 of deleted in azoospermia-like （DAZL） and male infertility. Review Manager 5 was used to process the meta-analysis and other statistical analysis. A total of 139 records were retrieved, of which 13 case-control studies with total 2715 patients and 1835 normozoospermic men were included. SNP260 was found not to play a functional role in male oligo/azoospermia either for Caucasians or for Asians. But for SNP386, models of allele （A/G）, dominant （AA/AG ＋ GG）, co-dominant （AA/AG） and super-dominant （AA ＋ GG/AG） had a strong correlation to spermatogenic failure with related odds ratio being 0.15 （95% confidence interval [95% CI] 0.07 to 0.34, P〈 0.00001）, 0.16 （95% CI 0.07 to 0.35, P〈 0.00001）, 0.15 （95% CI 0.06 to 0.33, P〈 0.00001） and 0.15 （95% CI 0.06 to 0.33, P 〈 0.00001）, respectively. Moreover, this correlation was only found in the Chinese Han population （decreasing around 85% risk of oligo/azoospermia infertility） and not found in India, Japan, and Caucasian countries. Our analysis demonstrated that SNP260 of DAZL did not contribute to oligo/azoospermia while SNP386 was correlated to male infertility. However, this correlation was only found in China with a country-specific and ethnicity-specific manner.

In the realm of public goods game,punishment,as a potent tool,stands out for fostering *** it effectively addresses the first-order free-rider problem,the associated costs can be *** incur expenses in imposing sanctions,while defectors face ***,these monetary elements seemingly vanish into thin air,representing a loss to the system ***,by virtue of the redistribution of fines to cooperators and punishers,not only can we mitigate this loss,but the rewards for these cooperative individuals can be *** upon this premise,this paper introduces a fine distribution mechanism to the traditional pool punishment *** identical parameter settings,by conducting a comparative experiment with the conventional punishment model,the paper aims to investigate the impact of fine distribution on the evolution of cooperation in spatial public goods *** experimental results clearly demonstrate that,in instances where the punishment cost is prohibitively high,the cooperative strategies of the traditional pool punishment model may completely ***,the model enriched with fine distribution manages to sustain a considerable number of cooperative strategies,thus highlighting its effectiveness in promoting and preserving cooperation,even in the face of substantial punishment cost.

The main concern about PCNL is the resultant morbidity： Complications such as bleeding, parenchymal damage, and organ injury hindered the adoption of PCNL in primary hospitals in China.

Polyethyleneimine(PEI),as a widely used polymer material in the field of gene delivery,has been extensively studied for modification and shielding to reduce its ***,research aimed at preparing degradable PEI is *** this work,the hydrogen peroxide(H_(2)O_(2))oxidation method was used to introduce degradable amide groups in the PEI and a series of oxidized PEI22k(oxPEI22k)with different degrees of oxidation were synthesized by regulating the dosage of H_(2)O_(2).The relationship between the oxidation degree of oxPEI22k and the gene transfection efficiency of oxPEI22k was studied in detail,confirming that the oxPEI22k with oxidation degrees of 16.7%and 28.6%achieved improved transfection efficiency compared to unmodified *** oxPEI22k also proved reduced cytotoxicity and improved ***,this strategy was extended to the synthesis of low-molecular-weight *** oxPEI1.8k with suitable oxidation degree also achieved improved transfection efficiency and reduced *** brief,this work provided high-efficiency and low-cytotoxicity degradable gene delivery carriers by regulating the oxidation degree of PEI,which was of great significance for promoting clinical applications of PEI.
