Macroscopic model and statistical model to characterize electromagnetic information of a digital coding metasurface

A digital coding metasurface is a platform connecting the digital space and electromagnetic wave space, and has therefore gained much attention due to its intriguing value in reshaping wireless channels and realizing new communication architectures. Correspondingly, there is an urgent need for electromagnetic information theory that reveals the upper limit of communication capacity and supports the accurate design of metasurface-based communication systems. To this end, we propose a macroscopic model and a statistical model of the digital coding metasurface. The macroscopic model uniformly accommodates both digital and electromagnetic aspects of the meta-atoms and predicts all possible scattered fields of the digital coding metasurface based on a small number of simulations or measurements. Full-wave simulations and experimental results show that the macroscopic model is feasible and accurate. A statistical model is further proposed to correlate the mutual coupling between meta-atoms with covariance and to calculate the entropy of the equivalent currents of digital coding metasurface. These two models can help reconfigurable intelligent surfaces achieve more accurate beamforming and channel estimation, and thus improve signal power and coverage. Moreover, the models will encourage the creation of a precoding codebook in metasurface-based direct digital modulation systems, with the aim of approaching the upper limit of channel capacity. With these two models, the concepts of current space and current entropy, as well as the analysis of information loss from the coding space to wave space, is established for the first time, helping to bridge the gap between the digital world and the physical world, and advancing developments of electromagnetic information theory and new-architecture wireless systems.

Dynamic interwell connectivity analysis of multi-layer waterflooding reservoirs based on an improved graph neural network

The analysis of interwell connectivity plays an important role in the formulation of oilfield development plans and the description of residual oil distribution. In fact, sandstone reservoirs in China's onshore oilfields generally have the characteristics of thin and many layers, so multi-layer joint production is usually adopted. It remains a challenge to ensure the accuracy of splitting and dynamic connectivity in each layer of the injection-production wells with limited field data. The three-dimensional well pattern of multi-layer reservoir and the relationship between injection-production wells can be equivalent to a directional heterogeneous graph. In this paper, an improved graph neural network is proposed to construct an interacting process mimics the real interwell flow regularity. In detail, this method is used to split injection and production rates by combining permeability, porosity and effective thickness, and to invert the dynamic connectivity in each layer of the injection-production wells by attention *** on the material balance and physical information, the overall connectivity from the injection wells,through the water injection layers to the production layers and the output of final production wells is established. Meanwhile, the change of well pattern caused by perforation, plugging and switching of wells at different times is achieved by updated graph structure in spatial and temporal ways. The effectiveness of the method is verified by a combination of reservoir numerical simulation examples and field example. The method corresponds to the actual situation of the reservoir, has wide adaptability and low cost, has good practical value, and provides a reference for adjusting the injection-production relationship of the reservoir and the development of the remaining oil.

Quantitative characterizations of anisotropic dynamic properties in organic-rich shale with different kerogen content

Understanding the quantitative responses of anisotropic dynamic properties in organic-rich shale with different kerogen content(KC)is of great significance in hydrocarbon exploration and *** controlled experiments with a single variable is challenging for natural shales due to their high variations in components,diagenesis conditions,or pore *** employed the hot-pressing technique to construct 11 well-controlled artificial shale with varying *** artificial shale samples were successive machined into prismatic shape for ultrasonic measurements along different *** revealed bedding perpendicular P-wave velocities are more sensitive to the increasing KC than bedding paralleling velocities due to the preferential alignments of *** elastic stiffnesses except C_(13)are generally decreasing with the increasing KC,the variation of C_(1) and C_(33)on kerogen content are more sensitive than those of C_(44)and C_(66).Apparent dynamic mechanical parameters(v and E)were found to have linear correlation with the true ones from complete anisotropic equations independent of KC,which hold value towards the interpretation of well logs consistently across formations,Anisotropic mechanical parameters(ΔE and brittlenessΔB)tend to decrease with the reducing KC,withΔB showing great sensitivity to KC *** the range of low KC(10%)shale,compilation of data from natural organic rich-shales globally verified the similar systematic relationships that can be empirically used to predict the fraction of KC in shales.

Objective Hepatic stellate cells(HSCs)play a crucial role in liver ***-stage liver fibrosis is reversible and intimately associated with the state of ***-like factor 4(KLF4)plays a pivotal role in a wide array of physiological and pathological *** study aimed to investigate the effect of KLF4 on the proliferation,apoptosis and phenotype of quiescent HSCs Methods We designed a KLF4 lentiviral vector and a KLF4 siRNA lentiviral vector,to upregulate and silence KLF4 expression in human HSC LX-2 cells via *** proliferation was assessed using the CCK-8 *** cytometry was used to detect the cell cycle distribution and apoptosis *** blotting was used to determine the levels of some quiescence and activation markers of HSCs Results Overexpression of KLF4 significantly increased the levels of E-cadherin and ZO-1,which are quiescent HSC markers,while significantly decreased the levels of N-cadherin and a-SMA,known activated HSC *** contrast,cell proliferation and apoptosis rates were elevated in LX-2 cells in which KLF4 expression was silenced Conclusion KLF4 inhibits the proliferation and activation of human LX-2 *** might be a key regulatory protein in the maintenance of HSC quiescence and may serve as a target for the inhibition of hepatic fibrosis.

Anomalous photovoltaic effect in Na_(0.5)Bi_(0.5)TiO_(3)-based ferroelectric ceramics based on domain engineering

The anomalous photovoltaic(APV)effect is promising for high-performance ferroelectric materials and devices in photoelectric ***,it is a challenge how to tune the APV effect by utilizing the characteristic structure of ***,a domain engineering strategy is proposed to enhance the APV effect in lead-free 0.88(Na_(0.5)Bi_(0.5)TiO_(3))-0.12(Ba_(1–1.5x)S_(mx)TiO_(3))(NBT-BST)ferroelectric *** tuning the domain size based on Sm^(3+)doping,a maximum open-circuit voltage(VOC)of 18.1 V is obtained when Sm^(3+)content is 0.75%,which is much larger than its bandgap(Eg).The mechanism of this large VOC originates from the multiple positive effects induced by the small-size domain,where decreasing domain size enhances ferroelectric polarization and net interface barrier potential,leading to a large driving electric ***,the APV effect exhibits a giant temperature sensitivity due to the dramatic evolution of small-size domain in the temperature *** work sheds light on the exploration of ferroelectrics with APV effect and inspires their future high-performance optoelectronic device applications.

Intelligent geochemical interpretation of mass chromatograms:Based on convolution neural network

Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS)is an extremely important analytical technique that is widely used in organic *** is the only approach to capture biomarker features of organic matter and provides the key evidence for oil-source correlation and thermal maturity ***,the conventional way of processing and interpreting the mass chromatogram is both timeconsuming and labor-intensive,which increases the research cost and restrains extensive applications of this *** overcome this limitation,a correlation model is developed based on the convolution neural network(CNN)to link the mass chromatogram and biomarker features of samples from the Triassic Yanchang Formation,Ordos Basin,*** this way,the mass chromatogram can be automatically *** research first performs dimensionality reduction for 15 biomarker parameters via the factor analysis and then quantifies the biomarker features using two indexes(*** and PMI)that represent the organic matter thermal maturity and parent material type,***,training,interpretation,and validation are performed multiple times using different CNN models to optimize the model structure and hyper-parameter setting,with the mass chromatogram used as the input and the obtained MI and PMI values for supervision(label).The optimized model presents high accuracy in automatically interpreting the mass chromatogram,with R2values typically above 0.85 and0.80 for the thermal maturity and parent material interpretation results,*** significance of this research is twofold:(i)developing an efficient technique for geochemical research;(ii)more importantly,demonstrating the potential of artificial intelligence in organic geochemistry and providing vital references for future related studies.

Refractory autoimmune hemolytic anemia in a patient with systemic lupus erythematosus and ulcerative colitis:A case report

BACKGROUND Ulcerative colitis(UC)and systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE)are both systemic immunoreactive diseases,and their pathogenesis depends on the interaction between genes and environmental *** are no reports of UC with SLE in China,but six cases of SLE with UC have been reported in *** combination of these two diseases has distinct effects on the pathogenesis of both *** SUMMARY A female patient(30 years old)came to our hospital due to dull umbilical pain,diarrhea and mucous bloody stool in August 2018 and was diagnosed with *** symptoms were relieved after oral administration of mesalazine(1 g po tid)or folic acid(5 mg po qd),and the patient were fed a control *** june 24,2019,the patient was admitted for treatment due to anemia and *** hospitalization,the patient had repeated low-grade fever and a progressively decreased Hb *** tests revealed positive antinuclear antibody test,positive anti-dsDNA antibody,0.24 g/L C3(0.9-1.8 g/L),0.04 g/L C4(0.1-0.4 g/L),32.37 g/L immunoglobulin(8-17 g/L),and 31568.1 mg/24 h total 24-h urine protein(0-150 mg/24 h).The patient was diagnosed with SLE involving the joints,kidneys and blood *** reported cases of SLE were retrieved from PubMed to characterize clinicopathological features and identify prognostic factors for *** The patient was discharged in remission after a series of treatments,such as intravenous methylprednisolone sodium succinate,intravenous human immunoglobulin,cyclophosphamide injection,and plasma *** discharge,the patient took oral prednisone acetate tablets,cyclosporine capsules,hydroxychloroquine sulfate tablets and other treatments for symptoms and was followed up regularly for 1 month,after which the patient's condition continued to improve and stabilize.

Superatomic Ag_(58) nanoclusters incorporating a [MS_(4)@Ag_(12)]^(2+)(M = Mo or W) kernel show aggregation-induced emission

In core-shell silver nanoclusters,the control of core structure presents a more formidable challenge compared to that of the shell ***,we report the successful synthesis and characterization of four distinct silver thiolate nanoclusters[MS_(4)@Ag_(12)@Ag_(46)S_(24)(dppb)_(12)](M=Mo or W),each incorporating a cup-like[MS_(4)@Ag_(12)]^(2+)*** nanoclusters were meticulously prepared using(NH_(4))2Mo S4or(NH_(4))_(2)WS_(4)as both a template and a controlled source of ***,we have observed a unique configuration within these eight-electron superatomic Ag_(58) nanoclusters,where the zerovalent Ag atoms reside exclusively within the inner[MS_(4)@Ag_(12)]^(2+)*** stands in contrast to other superatomic clusters possessing an Ag(0)***,the introduction of phenyl-containing compounds during the synthesis process induced a transformation in the space group symmetry from C_(2)/c to I 4ˉ.This transformative effect was found to originate from the interplay between adjacent 1,4-bis(diphenylphosphino)butane(dppb)ligands,which facilitated enhanced emission through aggregationinduced intermolecular interactions,specifically C-H···π***,our findings contribute substantively to the understanding of the intricate relationship between nanocluster structures and their corresponding properties,shedding light on the crucial roles played by templates and diphosphine ligands in this context.
