To Establish A Body of Evidence on Safety for Postmarketing Chinese Medicine：A New Research Paradigm

The issue of safety evaluation on postmarketing Chinese medicines has become a hot topic in China’s mainland recently. Researchers and decision-makers can obtain a variety of evidence resources about safety in order to evaluate the safety profile for postmarketing Chinese medicines. A registry study on ten Chinese medicine injections for postmarketing surveillance has come to the end. From such a study observing more than 300,000 patients for more than 4 years, a theoretical research question emerges, that is, how to identify and evaluate safety evidence systematically. We put forward a brand new research paradigm on the theory level, which is to establish a body of evidence on safety evaluation for postmarketing Chinese medicine. Therefore, multiple information sources were explored and extracted from preclinical experiments for toxicity, postmarketing clinical trials for efficacy and safety evaluation, registry study for surveillance, retrospective data analysis from hospital information system and spontaneous response system, and case reports and systematic review from literature. Greater efforts for this idea and cooperation with experts in this field both in China and abroad are urgently needed.

In this study,we discuss mainly the image denoising and texture retention ***,the time-fractional derivative has an adjustable fractional order to control the diffusion process,and its memory effect can nicely retain the image texture when it is applied to image ***,we design a new Rudin-Osher-Fatemi model with a time-fractional derivative based on a classical one,where the discretization in space is based on the integer-order difference scheme and the discretization in time is the approximation of the Caputo derivative(i.e.,Caputo-like difference is applied to discretize the Caputo derivative).Stability and convergence of such an explicit scheme are analyzed in *** prove that the numerical solution to the new model converges to the exact solution with the order of O(τ^2−α+h^2),whereτ,α,and h are the time step size,fractional order,and space step size,re***,various evaluation criteria including the signal-to-noise ratio,feature similarity,and histogram recovery degree are used to evaluate the performance of our new *** test results show that our improved model has more powerful denoising and texture retention ability than existing ones.

This study is to investigate the effectiveness and safety of bloodletting puncture(BP)for acute ischemic stroke(AIS)when used in combination with standard treatment,as well as the patients'feelings and attitudes toward the *** is a mixed method research which includes a multi-center,superiority,randomized controlled clinical trial,and focus group interview.A total of 360 AIS participants will be *** will be randomized into one of the following two groups for 7 d:(a)BP with standard treatment group(n=180);(b)standard treatment group(n=180).The primary outcome will be National Institute of Health stroke scale(NIHSS)score at day 7 after *** outcomes will be changes of Glasgow Coma Scale score,NIHSS score,mRS and Traditional Chinese Medicine syndrome score from baseline to 7,14,and 30 d after treatment,recurrence rate and all-cause mortality rate within 30 d,and the safety *** focus group will be conducted with a purposive sample of 1-2 acupuncturists and 1-2 patients respectively at each center at 7 and 30 d after *** designed a mixed method study to evaluate the effect of BP,an acupuncture therapy for patients with *** the findings of this study confirm the effectiveness of BP to reduce the NIHSS score and other related outcomes and patients are willing to accept the therapy,we believe this study will help the implementation of this therapy in clinical practice,and provide new evidence for the treatment of AIS.

OBJECTIVE:To update the current characteristics about the scope and quality of mixed methods research(MMR)in complementary and alternative medicine(CAM)after nearly 10 ***:A 5-stage approach for conducting a scoping review was *** published on the top 10 journals in CAM with the highest impact factor in 2020 were screened for *** of included articles were extracted,and then synthesized to illustrate the current *** quality was evaluated according to the Mixed Method Appraisal Tool(MMAT)2018 ***:A total of 55(55/2991,2%)articles using mixed methods were retrieved,including 17 medical studies and 38 ethnobotanical *** performed an in-depth analysis on the 17 medical studies,which studied cancer,stress,pain,fatigue,exercises,mindfulness intervention,herbal medicine use,art and *** pilot studies applied MMR to evaluate the feasibility of interventions or programs(13/17,76%);phenomenology was inferred as the most common philosophical assumptions(13/17,76%);the most applied type of MMR was convergent design(16/17,94%);integration often took place at integration(12/17,71%).Among the 16 eligible studies for quality appraisal,majority were rated as good(14/16,88%),whereas two studies were rated as poorly ***,a poor rating was due to incomplete reporting of data analysis and citations in qualitative components;lack of confounder controlling and the sampling strategy in quantitative components;poor description of integration and justification for mixed *** with the previous review,fewer MMR were published in 2020 in CAM,but the proportion of studies that clearly reported MMR has increased by 4 times(4%→15%).CONCLUSION:CAM researchers need to realize the benefits that MMR can have on conducting further health care *** findings highlight that applying MMR will be helpful to understand the complex dynamics and interdisciplinary nature of complex intervent

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) for preventing acute mountain sickness(AMS).Methods: We included randomized controlled trials(RCTs) which evalueded the effect of TCM for preventing AMS, compared with a placebo, no treatment or acetazolamide. The literature was searched in 6major databases. RevMan 5.4 software was used for the meta-analysis. The relative risk for discrete variables and the mean difference for continuous variables with 95% confidence intervals(CIs) were applied to express the effect size. The risk of bias in the included studies was evaluated using the Cochrane risk assessment tool 2.0(RoB 2.0), and the evidence certainty was assessed using the Grading of Recommendations Assessment and the Development and Evaluation(GRADE) ***: Twenty RCTs involving 3015 participants and 16 TCM patent drugs were included. The overall risk of bias in the majority of studies(15/20) was of some concerns. In terms of the AMS incidence,Rhodiola rosea(R. rosea, Hong Jing Tian) and Ginkgo biloba(G. biloba, Yin xing Ye) were equivalent to the placebo/no treatment [RR(95% CI): 0.66(0.43-1.01), 0.82(0.63-1.06), respectively]. The AMS incidence in the G. biloba group was higher than that in the acetazolamide group [RR(95% CI): 2.92(1.69-5.06)]. In terms of improving the AMS symptom score on days 1 and 3 in the plateau, R. rosea and G. biloba were superior to the placebo or no treatment [MD(95% CI):-0.98(-1.71,-0.25),-2.05(-3.14,-0.95), respectively]. The other 14 Chinese patent medicines were evaluated in a single trial, and the majority of the results were negative. The subgroup analysis showed that the effect of R. rosea was related to the intervention time, way of ascending, and ***: R. rosea and G. biloba were effective in improving AMS symptoms but had no effect in reducing the AMS incidence. Dip-pen *** （DPN） is a useful method for directly printing materials on surfaces with sub-50nm resolution. Because it, involves the physical transport of materials from a scanning probe tip to a surface and the subsequent chemical interaction of that material with the surface, there are many factors to consider when attempting to understand DPN. In this review, we overview the physical and chemical processes that are known to play a role in DPN, Through a detailed review of the literature, we classify inks into three general categories based on their transport properties, and highlight the myriad ways that. DPN can be used to perform chemistry at the tip of a scanning probe.
