Flavonoid scutellarin positively regulates root length through NUTCRACKER

Exploring approaches to regulate meristem is of special importance and broad interest.In this study,we found that the flavonoid scutellarin,which has a 6-hydroxyl and a 7-glucoside,increased root length through the transcription factor NUTCRACKER(NUC).This root lengthening disappeared in NUCknockout and reappeared in NUC-rescue plants.Scutellarin induced NUC expression and promoted the division of cortex/endodermal initials.In contrast,naringenin,which has same chemical backbone but without 6-hydroxyl and with 7-hydroxyl group,showed the opposite or no effects.Our results demonstrate that scutellarin promotes root length through NUC-mediated regulatory pathways and reveal that flavonoids with and without the 6-hydroxyl and 7-glucoside have positive and negative effects on meristem size,respectively。

Pancreatic cancer is characterized by inter-tumoral and intra-tumoral heterogeneity,especially in genetic alteration and microenvironment.Conventional therapeutic strategies for pancreatic cancer usually suffer resistance,highlighting the necessity for personalized precise treatment.Cancer vaccines have become promising alternatives for pancreatic cancer treatment because of their multifaceted advantages including multiple targeting,minimal nonspecific effects,broad therapeutic window,low toxicity,and induction of persistent immunological memory.Multiple conventional vaccines based on the cells,microorganisms,exosomes,proteins,peptides,or DNA against pancreatic cancer have been developed;however,their overall efficacy remains unsatisfactory.Compared with these vaccine modalities,messager RNA(mRNA)-based vaccines offer technical and conceptional advances in personalized precise treatment,and thus represent a potentially cutting-edge option in novel therapeutic approaches for pancreatic cancer.This review summarizes the current progress on pancreatic cancer vaccines,highlights the superiority of mRNA vaccines over other conventional vaccines,and proposes the viable tactic for designing and applying personalized mRNA vaccines for the precise treatment of pancreatic cancer.

C_(24)tetracyclic terpanes are common compounds in source rocks and crude oils,and C_(24)17,21-secohopane is the most common and widely used source-related indicator.In this study,three unusual C_(24)tetracyclic terpanes were detected on the m/z 191 chromatogram of saturated hydrocarbons in the Shahejie Formation source rocks in the Bozhong subbasin.Based on the mass spectra characteristics,diagnostic ion fragments,retention time and comparisons with published literature,three unusual C_(24)tetracyclic terpanes were identified as 10β(H)-des-A-oleanane,10β(H)-des-A-lupane and C_(24)des-Ahopane.To the best of our knowledge,this is the first study to detect and publicly report these three compounds in source rock samples from the Shahejie Formation of the Bozhong subbasin,Bohai Bay Basin.The results indicated that 10β(H)-des-A-oleanane and 10β(H)-des-A-lupane likely originated from terre strial angiosperms,while C_(24)des-A-hopane likely originated fro m prokaryotic o rganisms.Te rrestrial angiosperms provide the material basis for the generation of compounds A and B,and the distribution and concentration of these two compounds are affected by thermal maturity.In the low maturity stage(0.5%

Due to their intrinsic link with nonlinear Fokker-Planck equations and many other applications,distribution dependent stochastic differential equations(DDSDEs)have been intensively investigated.In this paper,we summarize some recent progresses in the study of DDSDEs,which include the correspondence of weak solutions and nonlinear Fokker-Planck equations,the well-posedness,regularity estimates,exponential ergodicity,long time large deviations,and comparison theorems.

Cholangiocarcinoma(CHOL)is one of the most aggressive tumors worldwide and cannot be effectively treated by conventional and novel treatments,including immune checkpoint blockade therapy.The mRNA vaccine-based immunotherapeutic strategy has attracted much attention for various diseases,however,its application in CHOL is limited due to the thoughtlessness in the integration of vaccine design and patient selection.A recent study established an integrated path for identifying potent CHOL antigens for mRNA vaccine development and a precise stratification for identifying CHOL patients who can benefit from the mRNA vaccines.In spite of a promising prospect,further investigations should identify immunogenic antigens and onco-immunological characteristics of CHOL to guide the clinical application of CHOL mRNA vaccines in the future.

QPSO-ILF-ANN-based optimization of TBM control parameters considering tunneling energy efficiency

In recent years, tunnel boring machines (TBMs) have been widely used in tunnel construction. However, the TBM control parameters set based on operator experience may not necessarily be suitable for certain geological conditions. Hence, a method to optimize TBM control parameters using an improved loss function-based artificial neural network (ILF-ANN) combined with quantum particle swarm optimization (QPSO) is proposed herein. The purpose of this method is to improve the TBM performance by optimizing the penetration and cutterhead rotation speeds. Inspired by the regularization technique, a custom artificial neural network (ANN) loss function based on the penetration rate and rock-breaking specific energy as TBM performance indicators is developed in the form of a penalty function to adjust the output of the network. In addition, to overcome the disadvantage of classical error backpropagation ANNs, i.e., the ease of falling into a local optimum, QPSO is adopted to train the ANN hyperparameters (weight and bias). Rock mass classes and tunneling parameters obtained in real time are used as the input of the QPSO-ILF-ANN, whereas the cutterhead rotation speed and penetration are specified as the output. The proposed method is validated using construction data from the Songhua River water conveyance tunnel project. Results show that, compared with the TBM operator and QPSO-ANN, the QPSO-ILF-ANN effectively increases the TBM penetration rate by 14.85% and 13.71%, respectively, and reduces the rock-breaking specific energy by 9.41% and 9.18%, respectively.

A mild,chemoselective,redox-neutral ipso/ortho alkenylcyanation of arylboronic acids with homopropargylic malononitriles via 1,4-rhodium migration and fragmentation is reported.A variety of 2-vinyl arylnitriles are obtained in good yields(51examples,ava.69%yields)through this strategy,which is characterized by its broad substrate scope,great functional group tolerance,and mild conditions.Mechanism studies indicate that the fragmentation is temperature dependent.The primary asymmetric exploration for the non-fragmentation product already shows promising results.The separation of the two cyano groups of homopropargylic malononitriles results in the formation of aromatic nitrile and aliphatic nitrile in one molecule,which enables the further transformations of the products.

Distributed accelerated primal-dual neurodynamic approaches for resource allocation problem

This paper investigates two distributed accelerated primal-dual neurodynamic approaches over undirected connected graphs for resource allocation problems(RAP)where the objective functions are generally convex.With the help of projection operators,a primal-dual framework,and Nesterov's accelerated method,we first design a distributed accelerated primal-dual projection neurodynamic approach(DAPDP),and its convergence rate of the primal-dual gap is O(1/(t^(2)))by selecting appropriate parameters and initial values.Then,when the local closed convex sets are convex inequalities which have no closed-form solutions of their projection operators,we further propose a distributed accelerated penalty primal-dual neurodynamic approach(DAPPD)on the strength of the penalty method,primal-dual framework,and Nesterov's accelerated method.Based on the above analysis,we prove that DAPPD also has a convergence rate O(1/(t^(2)))of the primal-dual gap.Compared with the distributed dynamical approaches based on the classical primal-dual framework,our proposed distributed accelerated neurodynamic approaches have faster convergence rates.Numerical simulations demonstrate that our proposed neurodynamic approaches are feasible and effective.
