Endoplasmic reticulum stress-induced NLRP3 inflammasome activation as a novel mechanism of polystyrene microplastics (PS-MPs)-induced pulmonary inflammation in chickens

Microplastics(MPs)have attracted growing attention worldwide as an increasingly prevalent environmental *** addition,chicken meat is currently the most widely consumed kind of poultry in the global *** demand for chicken is on the rise both at home and *** a result,the safety of chicken raising has also received significant *** lungs play an essential role in the physiological activities of chickens,and they are also the most vulnerable *** injury is difficult to repair after the accumulation of contaminants,and the mortality rate is high,which brings huge economic losses to *** research on the toxicity of MPs has mainly focused on the marine ecosystem,while the mechanisms of toxicity and lung damage in chickens have been poorly ***,this study explored the effects of exposure to polystyrene microplastics(PS-MPs)at various concentrations for 42 d on chicken ***-MPs could cause lung pathologies and ultrastructural abnormalities,such as endoplasmic reticulum(ER)swelling,inflammatory cell infiltration,chromatin agglutination,and plasma membrane ***,PS-MPs increased the expression of genes related to the heat shock protein family(Hsp60,Hsp70,and Hsp90),ER stress signaling(activating) transcription factor 6(ATF0),ATF4,protein kinase RNA-like ER kinase(PERK),and eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2 subunitα(eIF2a),pyroptosis-related genes(NOD)-,LRR-and pyrin domain-containing protein 3(NLRP3),apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a caspase recruitment domain(ASC),interleukin-1β(IL-1β),cysteinyl aspartate-specific proteinase 1(Caspasel),and gasdermin-D(GSDMD),and the inflammatory signaling pathway(nuclear factor-kB(NF-kB),inducible nitric oxide synthase(iNOS),and cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2).The above results showed that PS-MP exposure could result in lung stress,ER stress,pyroptosis,and inflammation in *** findings provide new scientific clues for further research o

Depositional model of the Member Deng-2 marginal microbial mound-bank complex of the Dengying Formation in the southwestern Sichuan Basin, SW China: Implications for the Ediacaran microbial mound construction and hydrocarbon exploration

Recent advances in hydrocarbon exploration have been made in the Member Deng-2 marginal microbial mound-bank complex reservoirs of the Dengying Formation in the western Sichuan Basin, SW China,where the depositional process is regarded confusing. The microfacies, construction types, and depositional model of the Member Deng-2 marginal microbial mound-bank complex have been investigated using unmanned aerial vehicle photography, outcrop section investigation, thin section identification,and seismic reflections in the southwestern Sichuan Basin. The microbialite lithologic textures in this region include thrombolite, dendrolite, stromatolite, fenestral stromatolite, spongiostromata stone,oncolite, aggregated grainstone, and botryoidal grapestone. Based on the comprehensive analysis of“depositional fabrics-lithology-microfacies”, an association between a fore mound, mound framework,and back mound subfacies has been proposed based on water depth, current direction, energy level and lithologic assemblages. The microfacies of the mound base, mound core, mound flank, mound cap, and mound flat could be recognized among the mound framework subfacies. Two construction types of marginal microbial mound-bank complex have been determined based on deposition location, mound scale, migration direction, and sedimentary facies association. Type Jinkouhe microbial mound constructions(TJMMCs) develop along the windward margin owing to their proximity to the seaward subfacies fore mound, with a northeastwardly migrated microbial mound on top of the mud mound,exhibiting the characteristics of large-sized mounds and small-sized banks in the surrounding area. Type E'bian microbial mound constructions(TEMMCs) primarily occur on the leeward margin, resulting from the presence of onshore back mound subfacies, with the smaller southwestward migrated microbial mounds existing on a thicker microbial flat. Oxynitride semiconductors are promising photocatalyst materials for visible light-driven water splitting,while the synthesis of well crystalized oxynitride still remains *** present work,narrow-bandgap TaON nanoparticles are synthesized via heating a vacuum-sealed mixture of KTaO_(3),Ta and NH_(4)*** method possesses multiple advantages in terms of lower calcination parameter,higher N conversion efficiency and superior photocatalytic activity in comparison with the traditional thermal ammonolysis using NH_(3) gas as a nitrogen *** the analysis of intermediates produced upon the elevation of heating temperature,a gas-solid-phase reaction between TaCl_(5) and Ta_(2)O_(5) is demonstrated as the final step,which is conducive to decreasing thermal energy barrier and accelerating nitridation *** control of preparation conditions,including calcination temperature and duration,allows for the regulation of surface O/N ratio of TaON particles to unity,resulting in optimized photocat-alytic *** assessment and intensity modulated photocurrent spectroscopy provide convincing evidence for improved charge transfer effciency of photoexcited holes at TaON surface.A Z-scheme overall water splitting is accomplished by employing the TaON as an effective oxygen evolution photocatalyst,SrTiO_(3):Rh as a hydrogen evolution photocatalyst,and reduced graphene oxide(rGO)as a solid-state electron *** work presents a promising strategy for the synthesis of high-quality oxynitride materials in application to photocatalytic water splitting.

The perturbation in the magnetic field generated by the rotation or oscillation of magnetic domains in magnetic materials can emit low-frequency electromagnetic waves,which are expected to be used in low-frequency ***,the magnetic emission intensity,defined by the perturbation ability,of current commercially applied amorphous alloys,such as Metglas,cannot meet the application requirements for low-frequency antennas due to the domain motion energy ***,a multi-phase Metglas amorphous alloy was constructed by incorporatingα-Fe nanocrystals using rapid annealing to manipulate the domain *** was found that 3.89 times higher magnetic emission intensity is obtained compared to the pristine due to the synergism of the deformation and displacement ***,the low-frequency magnetic emission performance verification was carried out by preparing magnetoelectric composites as the antenna vibrator by assembling the alloy and macro piezoelectric fiber composites(MFC).Enhancements of magnetic emission intensity are found at 93.3%and 49.2%at the first and second harmonic frequencies compared with the unmodified alloy ***,the approach leads to the development of high-performance communication with a novel standard for evaluation.

A Hybrid Approach for Predicting the Remaining Useful Life of Bearings Based on the RReliefF Algorithm and Extreme Learning machine

Accurately predicting the remaining useful life(RUL)of bearings in mining rotating equipment is vital for mining *** research aims to distinguish the features associated with the RUL of bearings and propose a prediction model based on these selected *** study proposes a hybrid predictive model to assess the RUL of rolling element *** proposed model begins with the pre-processing of bearing vibration signals to reconstruct sixty time-domain *** hybrid model selects relevant features from the sixty time-domain features of the vibration signal by adopting the RReliefF feature selection ***,the extreme learning machine(ELM)approach is applied to develop a predictive model of RUL based on the optimal *** model is trained by optimizing its parameters via the grid search *** training datasets are adjusted to make them most suitable for the regression model using the cross-validation *** proposed hybrid model is analyzed and validated using the vibration data taken from the public XJTU-SY rolling element-bearing *** comparison is constructed with other traditional *** experimental test results demonstrated that the proposed approach can predict the RUL of bearings with a reliable degree of accuracy.

As wearable electronic devices are rapidly developing,there is an urgent need for lightweight,flexible,and ultrathin multifunctional electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding ***,the flexible ultrathin paper that combines efficient shielding and multifunctional integration remains a considerable ***,a novel MXene/Fe_(3)O_(4)@CNTs/TOCNF(MCT,MXene=transition metal carbide/carbonitride,CNTs=carbon nanotubes,TOCNF=TEMPO-oxidized cellulose nanofiber,TEMPO=2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl radical)nanocomposite paper with a multilayer electromagnetic gradient structure and electromagnetic dual losses was successfully prepared by a simple filtration *** from effective gradient design and adjusting the proportion of TOCNF,the composite paper(only 18μm)exhibits outstanding shielding effectiveness(SE)of 66 dB in the X-band,ultrahigh thickness-specific SE and surface-specific SE values of 3300 dB·mm-1 and 31,428 dB·cm^(2)·g^(-1)***,dehydroxylation treatment improves MCT paper's hydrophobicity,environmental stability,and mechanical strength,expanding its range of ***,the highly efficient Joule heating properties and hydrophobicity provide MCT additional de-icing *** also simulated the electromagnetic shielding effects of MCT composite paper,which was applied in *** study documents an innovative and intriguing material combination,providing a simple and effective manufacturing strategy for developing EMI shielding *** paper is highly suitable for outdoor portable or wearable electronic devices and has significant application potential in humid/severe cold environments.

Estimation of Gaussian overlapping nuclear pulse parameters based on a deep learning LSTM model

A long short-term memory(LSTM)neural network has excellent learning ability applicable to time series of nuclear pulse *** can accurately estimate parameters associated with amplitude,time,and so on,in digitally shaped nuclear pulse signals—especially signals from overlapping *** learning the mapping relationship between Gaussian overlapping pulses after digital shaping and exponential pulses before shaping,the shaping parameters of the overlapping exponential nuclear pulses can be estimated using the LSTM ***,the Gaussian overlapping nuclear pulse(ONP)parameters which need to be estimated received Gaussian digital shaping treatment,after superposition by multiple exponential nuclear ***,a dataset containing multiple samples was produced,each containing a sequence of sample values from Gaussian ONP,after digital shaping,and a set of shaping parameters from exponential pulses before digital ***,the Training Set in the dataset was used to train the LSTM *** these datasets,the values sampled from the Gaussian ONP were used as the input data for the LSTM model,and the pulse parameters estimated by the current LSTM model were calculated by forward ***,the loss function was used to calculate the loss value between the network-estimated pulse parameters and the actual pulse ***,a gradient-based optimization algorithm was applied,to feedback the loss value and the gradient of the loss function to the neural network,to update the weight of the LSTM model,thereby achieving the purpose of training the ***,the sampled value of the Gaussian ONP for which the shaping parameters needed to be estimated was used as the input data for the LSTM *** this,the LSTM model produced the required nuclear pulse parameter *** summary,experimental results showed that the proposed method overcame the defect of local convergence encountered in traditional methods and could accurately extract para

Carbon dot-based artificial light-harvesting systems with sequential energy transfer and white light emission for photocatalysis

In this work, we designed and synthesized cationic carbon dots(CDs) with a size distribution of 1.6–3.7 nm, which exhibited dark blue fluorescence in the aqueous solution. Based on its excellent luminescence properties, we used it as an energy donor to construct a sequential artificial light-harvesting system(LHS) by employing the energy-matching dyes eosin Y disodium salt(EY) and sulforhodamine101(SR101), which could regulate the white light emission(Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage(CIE) coordinate:(0.30, 0.31)) with the energy transfer efficiency(ΦET) of 53.9% and 20.0%. Moreover, a single-step artificial LHS with white light emission(0.32, 0.28) can be constructed directly using CDs and dye solvent 43(SR) with ΦETand antenna effect(AE) of 48.8% and 6.5, respectively. More importantly,CDs-based artificial LHSs were firstly used in photocatalytic of α-bromoacetophenone, with a yield of90%. This work not only provides a new strategy for constructing CDs-based LHSs, but also opens up a new application for further applying the energy harvested in CDs-based LHSs to the field of the aqueous solution photocatalysis.
