Efficient piezo-catalytic dye degradation using piezoelectric 6H-SiC under harsh conditions

The development of novel piezoelectric catalysts against harsh conditions is indeed crucial for improving the piezo-catalytic degradation efficiency of colored organic dyes in *** this work,6H-SiC nanoparticles(NPs)are utilized to piezo-catalytic degrade rhodamine B(RhB)and methylene blue(MB)under ultrasonic vibration for the first *** degradation efficiency of RhB and MB reaches 98.8%and 98.7%within 80 *** piezoelectricity of 6H-SiC is comprehensively analyzed by the piezoresponse force microscope(PFM)and finite element method(FEM).The strong oxidizing active free radicals generated by the continuous piezoelectric polarized electric field of 6H-SiC,i.e.,·O_(2)^(-)and·OH,induce the decomposition reactions of colored organic dyes in *** the dyes are proven to degrade to harmless or less-harmful products gradually during the piezo-catalysis process by high-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry(HPLC-MS).Moreover,RhB is also decomposed efficiently by 6HSiC NPs under acidic and alkaline *** results prove the feasibility of 6H-SiC for decomposing common water pollutants under harsh conditions and provide a new perspective for water purification.

Timing effect of high temperature exposure on the plasticity of internode and plant architecture in maize

The occurrence of high temperature(HT)in crop production is becoming more frequent and unpredictable with global warming,severely threatening food *** state of an organ’s growth and development is largely determined by the temperature conditions it is exposed to over *** is the main cereal crop,and its stem growth and plant architecture are closely related to lodging resistance,and especially sensitive to ***,systematic research on the timing effect of HT on the sequentially developing internode and stem is currently *** identify the timing effect of HT on the morphology and plasticity of the stem in maize,two hybrids(Zhengdan 958(ZD958),Xianyu 335(XY335))characterized by distinct morphological traits in the stem were exposed to a 7-day HT treatment from the V6 to V17 stages(Vn presents the vegetative stage with n leaves fully expanded)in *** results demonstrated that exposure to HT during V6-V12 accelerated the rapid elongation of *** instance,HT occurring at V7 and V12 specifically promoted the lengths and weights of the 3rd-5th and 9th-11th internodes,***,HT slowed the growth of internodes adjacent to the promoted ***,compared with control,the plant height was significantly increased soon after HT treatment,but the promotion effect became narrower at the subsequent flowering stage,demonstrating a self-adjusting mechanism in the maize plant in response to ***,HT altered the plant architectures,including a rising of the ear position and increase in the ear position ***335 exhibited greater sensitivity in stem development than ZD958 under HT *** findings improve our systematic understanding of the plasticity of internode and plant architecture in response to the timing of HT exposure.

Structural Dependence Learning Based on Self-attention for Face Alignment

Self-attention aggregates similar feature information to enhance the features. However, the attention covers nonface areas in face alignment, which may be disturbed in challenging cases, such as occlusions, and fails to predict landmarks. In addition, the learned feature similarity variance is not large enough in the experiment. To this end, we propose structural dependence learning based on self-attention for face alignment (SSFA). It limits the self-attention learning to the facial range and adaptively builds the significant landmark structure dependency. Compared with other state-of-the-art methods, SSFA effectively improves the performance on several standard facial landmark detection benchmarks and adapts more in challenging cases.

In this big data era, the explosive growth of information puts ultra-high demands on the data storage/computing, such as high computing power, low energy consumption, and excellent stability. However, facing this challenge, the traditional von Neumann architecture-based computing system is out of its depth owing to the separated memory and data processing unit architecture. One of the most effective ways to solve this challenge is building brain inspired computing system with in-memory computing and parallel processing ability based on neuromorphic devices. Therefore, there is a research trend toward the memristors, that can be applied to build neuromorphic computing systems due to their large switching ratio, high storage density, low power consumption, and high stability. Two-dimensional (2D) ferroelectric materials, as novel types of functional materials, show great potential in the preparations of memristors because of the atomic scale thickness, high carrier mobility, mechanical flexibility, and thermal stability. 2D ferroelectric materials can realize resistive switching (RS) because of the presence of natural dipoles whose direction can be flipped with the change of the applied electric field thus producing different polarizations, therefore, making them powerful candidates for future data storage and computing. In this review article, we introduce the physical mechanisms, characterizations, and synthetic methods of 2D ferroelectric materials, and then summarize the applications of 2D ferroelectric materials in memristors for memory and synaptic devices. At last, we deliberate the advantages and future challenges of 2D ferroelectric materials in the application of memristors devices.

Association of preoperative antiviral treatment with incidences of post-hepatectomy liver failure in hepatitis B virus-related hepatocellular carcinoma

BACKGROUND Post-hepatectomy liver failure(PHLF)is a common consequence of radical partial hepatectomy in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).AIMS To investigate the relationship between preoperative antiviral therapy and PHLF,as well as assess the potential efficacy of hepatitis B virus(HBV)DNA level in predicting *** A retrospective study was performed involving 1301 HCC patients with HBV who underwent radical *** operating characteristic(ROC)analysis was used to assess the capacity of HBV DNA to predict PHLF and establish the optimal cutoff value for subsequent *** regression analyses were performed to assess the independent risk factors of *** increase in the area under the ROC curve,categorical net reclassification improvement(NRI),and integrated discrimination improvement(IDI)were used to quantify the efficacy of HBV DNA level for predicting *** P<0.05 was considered statistically *** Logistic regression analyses showed that preoperative antiviral therapy was independently associated with a reduced risk of PHLF(P<0.05).HBV DNA level with an optimal cutoff value of 269 IU/mL(P<0.001)was an independent risk factor of *** the reference models by adding the variable of HBV DNA level had an improvement in area under the curve,categorical NRI,and IDI,particularly for the fibrosis-4 model,with values of 0.729(95%CI:0.705-0.754),1.382(95%CI:1.341-1.423),and 0.112(95%CI:0.110-0.114),*** the above findings were statistically *** In summary,preoperative antiviral treatment can reduce the incidence of PHLF,whereas an increased preoperative HBV DNA level has a correlative relationship with an increased susceptibility to PHLF.
