Effect of native carbon vacancies on evolution of defects in ZrC_(1-x)under He ion irradiation and annealing

The dynamic study of radiation-induced defects with annealing is critical for the material design for nextgeneration nuclear energy *** native vacancy could affect the development of defects,which lacks *** the present work,the as-hot pressed ZrC_(1-x)(x=0,0.15,0.3)ceramics which comprised crystallites of a few microns in size with different amounts of carbon vacancies were irradiated by 540 ke V He^(2+)ions at room temperature with a fluence of 1×10^(17)/cm^(2).The radiation-induced lattice expansion was found to be a common phenomenon in a sequence of ZrC_(0.85)≥ZrC_(1.0)>ZrC_(0.7).Both X-ray and electron diffractions confirmed maintenance of structural integrity without amorphization after *** the irradiated region,only“black-dot”type defects,i.e.,clusters of point defects were observed while no helium-induced cavities,cracks,or extended dislocations were *** as-irradiated ZrC_(1-x)were then annealed at different high *** annealing at 800℃,very tiny helium-induced cavities were found to be generated and the crystal lattice recovered to a great extent,especially for the sub-stoichiometric *** annealed at 1500℃,all the samples almost fully recovered the crystal lattices close to those of as-hot pressed ***,large cavities and extended dislocations were *** increasing amount of native carbon vacancies,the size of cavities increased while the length and density of extended dislocations *** changes of lattice parameters during irradiation and annealing processes have been interpreted by the kinetics of ***,the correlation between native vacancies and damage behavior is discussed.

Aerodynamic/control integrated optimization method for unpowered high-speed vehicle configuration design

The unpowered high-speed vehicle experiences a significant coupling between the disciplines of aerodynamics and control due to its characteristics of high flight speed and extensive maneuverability within large *** conventional aircraft conceptual design process follows a sequential design approach,and there is an artificial separation between the disciplines of aerodynamics and control,neglecting the coupling effects arising from their *** a result,this design process often requires extensive iterations over long periods when applied to high-speed vehicles,and may not be able to effectively achieve the desired design *** enhance the overall performance and design efficiency of high-speed vehicles,this study integrates the concept of Active Control Technology(ACT)from modern aircraft into the philosophy of aerodynamic/control integrated *** integrated optimization strategies,with differences in coupling granularity,have been ***,these strategies are put into action on a biconical vehicle that operates at Mach *** results reveal that the comprehensive performance of the synthesis optimal model derived from the aerodynamic/control integrated optimization strategy is improved by 31.76%and 28.29%respectively compared to the base model under high-speed conditions,demonstrating the feasibility and effectiveness of the method and optimization strategies ***,in comparison to the single-stage strategy,the multi-stage strategy takes into deeper consideration the impact of control *** a result,the control performance of the synthesis opti-mal model derived from the multi-stage strategy improves by 13.99%,whereas the single-stage strategy only achieves a 5.79%*** method enables a fruitful interaction between aerodynamic configuration design and control system design,leading to enhanced overall performance and design ***,it improves the controllability of high-sp

Excellent irradiation resistance is the basic property of nuclear materials to keep nuclear *** high-entropy design has great potential to improve the irradiation resistance of the nuclear materials,which has been proven in ***,whether or not high entropy can also improve the irradiation resistance of ceramics,especially the mechanism therein still needs to be *** this work,the irradiation and helium(He)behaviors of zirconium carbide(ZrC)-based high-entropy ceramics(HECs),i.e.,(Zr_(0.2)Ti_(0.2)Nb_(0.2)Ta_(0.2)W_(0.2))C,were investigated and compared with those of ZrC under 540 keV He ion irradiation with a dose of 1×10^(17) cm^(−2) at room temperature and subsequent *** ZrC and(Zr_(0.2)Ti_(0.2)Nb_(0.2)Ta_(0.2)W_(0.2))C maintain lattice integrity after irradiation,while the irradiation-induced lattice expansion is smaller in(Zr_(0.2)Ti_(0.2)Nb_(0.2)Ta_(0.2)W_(0.2))C(0.78%)with highly thermodynamic stability than that in ZrC(0.91%).After annealing at 800℃,ZrC exhibits the residual _(0.2)0%lattice expansion,while(Zr_(0.2)Ti_(0.2)Nb_(0.2)Ta_(0.2)W_(0.2))C shows only 0.10%.Full recovery of the lattice parameter(a)is achieved for both ceramics after annealing at 1500℃.In addition,the high entropy in the meantime brings about the favorable structural evolution phenomena including smaller He bubbles that are evenly distributed without abnormal coarsening or aggregation,segregation,and shorter and sparser *** excellent irradiation resistance is related to the high-entropy-induced phase stability,sluggish diffusion of defects,and stress dispersion along with the production of vacancies by valence *** present study indicates a high potential of high-entropy carbides in irradiation resistance applications.

Ablation behaviour and mechanical performance of ZrB_(2)-ZrC-SiC modified carbon/carbon composites prepared by vacuum infiltration combined with reactive melt infiltration

The development of advanced aircraft relies on high performance thermal-structural materials,and carbon/carbon com-posites(C/C)composited with ultrahigh-temperature ceramics are ideal ***,the traditional routes of compositing are either inefficient and expensive or lead to a non-uniform distribution of ceramics in the *** with the traditional C/C-ZrC-SiC composites prepared by the reactive melt infiltration of ZrSi_(2),C/C-ZrB_(2)-ZrC-SiC composites prepared by the vacuum infiltration of ZrB_(2) combined with reactive melt infiltration have the higher content and more uniform distribution of the introduced ceramic *** mass and linear ablation rates of the C/C-ZrB_(2)-ZrC-SiC composites were respectively 68.9%and 29.7%lower than those of C/C-ZrC-SiC composites prepared by reactive melt *** ablation performance was improved because the volatilization of B_(2)O_(3),removes some of the heat,and the more uniformly distributed ZrO_(2),that helps produce a ZrO2-SiO2 continu-ous protective layer,hinders oxygen infiltration and decreases ablation.

Boosting thermal stability and crystallization of closed-loop-recyclable biodegradable poly(p-dioxanone) by end-group regulation

A chemically closed-loop-recyclable biodegradable polymer,poly(p-dioxanone)(PPDO),is one of the ideal candidates for single-use plastic products due to its suitability for different application ***,when PPDO wastes can be collected,its monomer p-dioxanone(PDO) will be obtained through chemical recycling of these wastes;when cannot be collected,the wastes are able to be biodegraded into harmless ***,unsatisfied thermal stability and low crystallization rate of PPDO restrict its wider ***,based on end-group regulation,we simultaneously realized the significant enhancement of thermal stability and crystallization of PPDO through the simple melt processing with tributyl phosphite(TBP) or triphenyl phosphite(TPP).The model reactions were conducted to investigate the reaction mechanism and theoretical products during the preparation of PPDO/phosphite *** kinds of phosphites were proved to act as the end-capped reagent and chain extender in the melt processing,while TBP presented better *** a result,the activation energy of thermal decomposition was largely elevated,and the unprecedented T_(5%)(the temperature at a weight loss of 5%) and Tmax(the temperature at a maximum rate of weight loss) of PPDO were obtained,i.e.,T_(5%)of ~330 ℃ and Tmaxof ~385 ℃ in N_(2) atmosphere,T_(5%)of ~240 ℃ and Tmaxof ~317 ℃ in air atmosphere,***,the increased crystallization rate,crystallinity,crystalline orderliness,and realizable monomer recovery(yield >90%,purity >99.9%) of PPDO/phosphite compounds were confirmed.

Development of extramural health care for chronic wounds is still in its infancy in China, and thus it is urgent and vital to establish a correct concept and practicable principles. The authors reviewed recent domestic and international literature and summarized the following treatment procedures and principles for extramural health care of chronic wounds. (1) The patient needs to do self-assessment of the wound by using available simple methods; (2) The patient consults with professional physicians or nurses on wound care to define the severity and etiology of the non-healing wound; (3) Professionals evaluate the existing treatment strategies; (4) Etiological treatments are given by professionals; (5) Patients buy needed dressings via the more convenient ways from pharmacies, e-commerce platform or others; (6) Professionals provide a standardized and reasonable therapeutic plan based on the patient''s wound conditions; (7) Both professionals and the patient pay attention to complications to prevent adverse outcomes; (8) Professionals strengthen the public education on wound care and integrated rehabilitation. This review expected to provide new perspectives on the therapeutic strategies for chronic wounds in an extramural setting.

Correlation between the neuroendocrine axis,microbial species,inflammatory response,and gastrointestinal symptoms in irritable bowel syndrome

BACKGROUND This study examines the complex relationships among the neuroendocrine axis,gut microbiome,inflammatory responses,and gastrointestinal symptoms in patients with irritable bowel syndrome(IBS).The findings provide new insights into the pathophysiology of IBS and suggest potential therapeutic targets for improving patient *** To investigate the interactions between the neuroendocrine axis,gut microbiome,inflammation,and gastrointestinal symptoms in patients with *** Patients diagnosed with IBS between January 2022 and January 2023 were selected for the *** individuals undergoing routine check-ups during the same period served as the control *** were collected on neuroendocrine hormone levels,gut microbiome profiles,inflammatory biomarkers,and gastrointestinal symptomatology to analyze their interrelations and their potential roles in IBS *** IBS patients exhibited significant dysregulation of the neuroendocrine axis,with altered levels of cortisol,serotonin,and neuropeptides compared to healthy *** gut microbiome of IBS patients showed reduced diversity and specific alterations in bacterial genera,including Bifidobacterium,Lactobacillus,and Faecalibacterium,which were associated with neuroendocrine ***,elevated levels of inflammatory markers,such as C-reactive protein,interleukin-6,and tumor necrosis factor-α,were observed and correlated with the severity of gastrointestinal symptoms like abdominal pain,bloating,and altered bowel *** The findings suggest that targeting the neuroendocrine axis,gut microbiome,and inflammatory pathways may offer novel therapeutic strategies to alleviate symptoms and improve the quality of life in IBS patients.

Fully-light vector tetraquark states with explicit P-wave via QCD sum rules

In this study,we apply the QCD sum rules to investigate the vector fully-light tetraquark states with an explicit P-wave between the diquark and antidiquark *** observed that the Cγα⊗↔∂μ⊗γαC(or Cγα⊗↔Dμ⊗γαC)type current with fully-strange quarks couples potentially to a tetraquark state with a mass 2.16±0.14GeV,which supports assigning Y(2175)/ϕ(2170)as the diquark-antidiquark type tetraquark state with JPC=1−−.The qsˉqˉs and ssˉsˉs vector tetraquark states with the structure Cγμ⊗↔∂α⊗γαC+Cγα⊗↔∂α⊗γμ(or Cγμ⊗↔Dα⊗γαC+Cγα⊗↔Dα⊗γμ)are consistent with X(2200)and X(2400),respectively,which lie in the region from 2.20 to *** central values of the masses of the fully-strange vector tetraquark states with an explicit P-wave are approximately 2.16−3.13GeV(or 2.16−3.16GeV).Predictions for other fully-light vector tetraquark states with and without hidden-strange are also presented.
