A two-field-scan harmonic Hall voltage analysis for fast, accurate quantification of spin-orbit torques in magnetic heterostructures

We report on the development of a “two-field-scan” harmonic Hall voltage(HHV) analysis, which collects the second HHVas a function of a swept in-plane magnetic field at 45° and 0° relative to the excitation current, for the determination of the spin-orbit torques of transverse spins in magnetic heterostructures without significant perpendicular spins, longitudinal spins, and longitudinal/perpendicular Oersted fields. We demonstrate that this two-field-scan analysis is as accurate as the well-established but time-consuming angle-scan HHV analysis even in the presence of considerable thermoelectric effects but takes more than a factor of 7 less measurement time. We also show that the fit of the HHV data from a single field scan at 0°, which is commonly employed in the literature, is not reliable because the employment of too many free parameters in the fitting of the very slowly varying HHV signal allows erroneous conclusion about the spin-orbit torque efficiencies.

Neburon is a phenylurea herbicide that is widely used worldwide,but its toxicity is poorly *** our previous study,we found that neburon has strong aryl hydrocarbon receptor(AhR)agonist activity,but whether it causes reproductive toxicity is not *** the present study,zebrafish were conducted as a model organism to evaluate whether environmental concentrations of neburon(0.1,1 and 10μg/L)induce reproductive disorder in *** exposure to neburon for 150 days from embryo to adult,that the average spawning egg number in high concentration group was 106.40,which was significantly lower than 193.00in control *** result was mainly due to the abnormal male reproductive behavior caused by abnormal transcription of genes associated with reproductive behavior in the brain,such as *** proportions of spermatozoa in the medium and high concentration groups were 82.40%and 83.84%,respectively,which were significantly lower than 89.45%in control *** result was mainly caused by hormonal disturbances and an increased proportion of apoptotic *** hormonal disruption was due to the significant changes in the transcription levels of key genes in the hypothalamus-pituitary-gonadal axis following neburon *** treatment also significantly activated the AhR signaling pathway,causing oxidative stress damage and eventually leading to a significant increase in apoptosis in the exposed ***,these data filled the currently more vacant profile of neburon toxicity and might provide information to assess the ecotoxicity of neburon on male reproduction at environmentally relevant concentrations.

Oxygen vacancies in oxygen evolution cocatalysts(OECs)can significantly improve the photoelectrochemical(PEC)water splitting performance of ***,OECs with abundant oxygen vacancies have a poor stability when exposing to the highly-oxidizing photogenerated ***,we partly fill oxygen vacancies in a MnCo_(2)O_(x) OEC with N atoms by a combined electrodeposition and sol-gel method,which dramatically improves both photocurrent density and stability of a BiVO_(4) *** optimized N filled oxygen vacancy-rich MnCo_(2)O_(x)/BiVO_(4) photoanode(3 at.%of N)exhibits an outstanding photocurrent density of 6.5 mA·cm^(-2) at 1.23 VRHE under AM 1.5 G illumination(100 mW·cm^(-2)),and an excellent stability of over 150 *** characterizations and theoretical calculations demonstrate that N atoms stabilize the defect structure and modulate the surface electron distribution,which significantly enhances the stability and further increases the photocurrent ***,other heteroatoms such as carbon,phosphorus,and sulfur are confirmed to have similar effects on improving PEC water splitting performance of photoanodes.

Crop phenomics enables the collection of diverse plant traits for a large number of samples along different time scales,representing a greater data collection throughput compared with traditional *** modern crop phenomics use different sensors to collect reflective,emitted,and fluorescence signals,etc.,from plant organs at different spatial and temporal *** multi-modal,high-dimensional data not only accelerates basic research on crop physiology,genetics,and whole plant systems modeling,but also supports the optimization of field agronomic practices,internal environments of plant factories,and ultimately crop *** challenges and opportunities facing the current crop phenomics research community include developing community consensus or standards for data collection,management,sharing,and processing,developing capabilities to measure physiological parameters,and enabling farmers and breeders to effectively use phenomics in the field to directly support agricultural production.

Background： Trichophyton rubrum is superficial fungi characteristically confined to dead keratinized tissues. These observations suggest that the soluble components released by the fungus could influence the host immune response in a cell in contact-free manner. Therefore, this research aimed to analyze whether the culture supernatant derived from T. rubrum grown in the nail medium could elicit the immune response of keratinocyte effectively. Methods： The culture supernatants of two strains （T1a, TXHB） were compared for the β-glucan concentrations and their capacity to impact the innate immunity of keratinocytes. The β-glucan concentrations in the supernatants were determined with the fungal G-test kit and protein concentrations with bicinchoninic acid protein quantitative method, then HaCaT was stimulated with different concentrations of culture supernatants by adopting morphological method to select a suitable dosage. Expressions of host defense genes were assessed by quantitative polymerase chain reaction after the HaCaT was stimulated with the culture supernatants. Data were analyzed with one-way analysis of variance, followed by the least significant difference test. Results： The T. rubrum strains （T1a and TXHB） released β-glucan of 87.530 ± 37.581 pg/ml and 15.747 ± 6.453 pg/ml, respectively into the media. The messenger RNA （mRNA） expressions of toll-like receptor-2 （TLR2）, TLR4, and CARD9 were moderately up-regulated in HaCaT within 6-h applications of both supernatants. HaCaT cells were more responsive to Tla than TXHB. The slight increase of dendritic cells-specific intercellular adhesion molecule 3-grabbing nonintegrin expression was faster and stronger, induced by T1a supematant than TXHB. The moderate decreases of RNase 7, the slight up-regulations of Dectin-1 and interleukin-8 at the mRNA level were detected only in response to T la rather than TXHB After a long-time contact, all the elevated defense genes decreased alter 24 h. Background： Trichophyton rubrum represents the most common infectious fungus responsible for dermatophytosis in human, but the mechanism involved is still not completely understood. An appropriate model constructed to simulate host infection is the prerequisite to study the pathogenesis of dernlatophytosis caused by T.. rubrum. In this study, we intended to develop a new T. rubrum infection model in vitro, using the three-dimensional reconstructed epidermis - EpiSkin, and to pave the way for further investigation of the mechanisms involved in T. rubrum infection. Methods： The reconstructed human epidermis （RHE） was infected by inoculating low-dose （400 conidia） and high-dose （4000 conidia） T. rubrum conidia to optimize the infection dose. During the various periods after infection, the samples were processed for pathological examination and scanning electron microscopy （SEM） observation. Results： The histological analysis of RHE revealed a fully differentiated epidermis with a functional stratum corneum, which was analogous to the normal human epidermis. The results of hematoxylin and eosin staining and the periodic acid-Schiff staining showed that the infection dose of 400 conidia was in accord with the pathological characteristics of host dermatophytosis caused by T. rubrum. SEM observations further exhibited the process of 77 ruhrum infection in an intuitionistic way, Conclusions： We established the T. rubrum infection model on RHE in vitro successfully. It is a promising model fbr further investigation of the mechanisms involved in T. rubrum infection.

Particle shape is an important factor affecting the fragmentation distribution of the ore *** investigate the influence of particle shape on the morphological fragmentation distribution characteristics,the crushable ore particles are defined as prolate,oblate ellipsoid and spherical particles,which have different aspect ratios(AR)and sphericity(S).Based on the drop weight experiment,the influence of the net drop height on the macroscopic mechanical behavior and crushing distribution characteristics of the single spherical and ellipsoidal particles is *** results show that different peak-shifting characteristics exist during particle *** fragmentation distribution peak shifts left when the increased impact energy is eventually only enough to break medium-sized ***,it shifts right when impact energy is increased enough to break largest-sized ***,regardless of whether the net drop height changes,the maximum continuous fragmentation degree presents"M"-shaped characteristic with the increased *** with the ellipsoid particles,the single spherical particle is more difficult to be broken by impact,with wider equivalent particle fragmentation *** the increase of particle sphericity,the maximum continuous fragmentation degree of a single ellipsoid particle has an overall trend of initial increase and subsequent *** when particle sphericity is 0.9

Objective:To evaluate if berberine can act on vitamin D receptors(VDR)and thereby regulate the expression of tight junction proteins(TJPs)in irritable bowel syndrome-diarrhea-predominant(IBS-D)***:The newborn rats were induced into IBS-D rat model via neonatal maternal separation combined with acetic acid chemical *** modeling,the model was evaluated and rats were divided into the control group and berberine treatment groups(0.85,1.7 and 3.4 mg/kg,once a day for 2 weeks).The distal colon was obtained and colonic epithelial cells(CECs)were isolated and cultured after IBS-D model *** vitamin D receptor response element(VDRE)reporter gene was determined in the CECs of IBS-D rats to analyze the effect of berberine on the VDRE *** overexpression or silencing technology was used to analyze whether VDR plays a role in promoting intestinal barrier repair,and to determine which region of VDR plays a role in berberine-regulated intestinal ***:The IBS-D rat model was successfully constructed and the symptoms were improved by berberine in a dose-dependent manner(P<0.05).The activity of VDRE promoter was also effectively promoted by berberine(P<0.05).Berberine increased the expression of TJPs in IBS-D CECs(P<0.05).VDR expression was significantly increased after transfection of different domains of VDR when compared to normal control and basic plasmid groups(all P<0.05).RT-qPCR and Western blot results showed that compared with the blank group,expressions of occludin and zonula occludens-1 were significantly higher in VDR containing groups(all P<0.05).Berberine plus pCMV-Myc-VDR-N group exerted the highest expression levels of occludin and zonula occludens-1(P<0.05).Conclusion:Berberine enhances intestinal mucosal barrier function of IBS-D rats by promoting VDR activity,and the main site of action is the N-terminal region of VDR.
