Pyridine-regulated Sb@InSbS3 ultrafine nanoplates as high-capacity and long-cycle anodes for sodium-ion batteries

Sb-based materials exhibit considerable potential for sodium-ion storage owing to their high theoretica capacities.However,the bulk properties of Sb-based materials always result in poor cycling and rate performances.To overcome these issues,pyridine-regulated Sb@InSbS3ultrafine nanoplates loaded on reduced graphene oxides （Sb@InSbS3@rGO） were designed and synthesized.During the synthesis process,pyridine was initially adopted to coordinate with In3+,and uniformly dispersed In2S3ultrafine nanoplates on reduced graphene oxide were generated after sulfidation.Next,partial In3+was exchanged with Sb3+,and Sb@InSbS3@rGO was obtained by using the subsequent annealing method.The unique structure of Sb@InSbS3@rGO effectively shortened the transfer path of sodium ions and electrons and provided a high pseudocapacitance.As the anode in sodium-ion batteries,the Sb@InSbS3@rGO electrode demonstrated a significantly higher reversible capacity better stability (445 m Ah·g-1at 0.1 A·g-1after 200 cycles and 212 mAh·g-1at 2 A·g-1after 1200 cycles),and superior rate (210 mAh·g-1at 6.4 A·g-1) than the electrode without pyridine (355 mAh·g-1at 0.1 A·g-1after 55 cycles and 109 mAh·g-1at 2 A·g-1after 770 cycles)Furthermore,full cells were assembled by using the Sb@InSbS3@rGO as anode and Na3V2（PO4）3as cathode which demonstrated good cycling and rate performances and exhibited promising application prospects.These results indicate that adjusting the microstructure of electrode materials through coordination balance is A·good strategy for obtaining high-capacity,high-rate,and longcycle sodium storage performances.

Two Ramsey-Turán Numbers of Small Independence Numbers

Given a forbidden graph H and a function f(n), the Ramsey-Turán number RT (n, H, f (n)) is the maximum number of edges of an H-free graph on n vertices with independence number less than f (n).For graphs G and H, the Ramsey number R(G, H) is the minimum integer N such that any red/blue edge coloring of the complete graph KNcontains either a red G or a blue H. Denote G+H by the join graph obtained from disjoint G and H by adding all edges between them completely. We first show that for any fixed graph H, if there are two constants p:=p(H)> 0 and q:=q(H)> 1 such that R(H, Kn)≤(pnq)/(log n)q-1, then RT(n, K2+H, o(n1/q(log n)1-1/q))=o(n2), which extends several previous results. Moreover, we show that for any fixed forest F of order k≥3, and for any 0 <δ <1 and sufficiently large n, RT(n, F+F, nδ)≤n(2-(1-δ)/「(k-1)(2-δ)/(1-δ)」).As a corollary, we have an upper bound for RT(n, K2,2,2, nδ) for any 0 <δ <1.

Knowledge Graph Enhanced Transformers for Diagnosis Generation of Chinese Medicine

Chinese medicine(CM)diagnosis intellectualization is one of the hotspots in the research of CM modernization.The traditional CM intelligent diagnosis models transform the CM diagnosis issues into classification issues,however,it is difficult to solve the problems such as excessive or similar categories.With the development of natural language processing techniques,text generation technique has become increasingly mature.In this study,we aimed to establish the CM diagnosis generation model by transforming the CM diagnosis issues into text generation issues.The semantic context characteristic learning capacity was enhanced referring to Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory(BILSTM)with Transformer as the backbone network.Meanwhile,the CM diagnosis generation model Knowledge Graph Enhanced Transformer(KGET)was established by introducing the knowledge in medical field to enhance the inferential capability.The KGET model was established based on 566 CM case texts,and was compared with the classic text generation models including Long Short-Term Memory sequence-to-sequence(LSTM-seq2seq),Bidirectional and Auto-Regression Transformer(BART),and Chinese Pre-trained Unbalanced Transformer(CPT),so as to analyze the model manifestations.Finally,the ablation experiments were performed to explore the influence of the optimized part on the KGET model.The results of Bilingual Evaluation Understudy(BLEU),Recall-Oriented Understudy for Gisting Evaluation 1(ROUGE1),ROUGE2 and Edit distance of KGET model were 45.85,73.93,54.59 and 7.12,respectively in this study.Compared with LSTM-seq2seq,BART and CPT models,the KGET model was higher in BLEU,ROUGE1 and ROUGE2 by 6.00–17.09,1.65–9.39 and 0.51–17.62,respectively,and lower in Edit distance by 0.47–3.21.The ablation experiment results revealed that introduction of BILSTM model and prior knowledge could significantly increase the model performance.Additionally,the manual assessment indicated that the CM diagnosis results of the KGET model used in this study were highly consistent with the p

Impact of Polymer Matrix on Polymer Mechanochromism from Excited State Intramolecular Proton Transfer

Mechanochromic polymers based on non-covalent changes have attracted much attention recently.Herein,we report the impact of inter/intramolecular hydrogen bonds on polymer mechanochromism from the excited state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) process.PhMz-NH2-OH and PhMz=2A are designed and obtained by simple and high-yield synthesis,and are connected into polyurethane and poly(methyl acrylate-co-2-ethylhexyl acrylate),respectively.In the initial state,the PhMz-NH2-OH@PU sample shows blue fluorescence from the excited enol form (E*) excitons,owing to intermolecular hydrogen bonds that interrupt the ESIPT reactions but the PhMz=2A@PMA-2-EA sample expresses cyan fluorescence belonging to the excited keto form (K*) emission,implying that the intramolecular hydrogen bonds matter.Furthermore,under stretching,external force can tune the emission of the PhMz=2A@PMA-2-EA sample from K* to E* state.Though external force can putatively still promote a bond rotation,ESIPT reactions remain equivalently interrupted in both the relaxed and stressed states in a hydrogen-bond donating environment.DFT calculation confirms the force-induced increase in dihedral angle for the transition of ESIPT-on/off.Thus,PhMz-NH2-OH@PU and PhMz=2A@PMA-2-EA showed disparate initial ESIPT states and further different responses/sensitivity to force.This study reports a novel and efficient strategy for enriching mechanochromic investigation and extending the applications of ESIPT reactions.

Rational modulation of electronic structure in PtAuCuNi alloys boosts efficient electrocatalytic ethanol oxidation assisted with energy-saving hydrogen evolution

Compared to conventional electrocatalytic water splitting,electrocatalytic ethanol oxidation reaction(EOR)along with hydrogen production is considered a more energy-efficient strategy.Herein,we prepared a type of novel quaternary alloy catalyst(PtAuCuNi@NF)that exhibits excellent activity for EOR(0.215 V at 10 mA cm^(-2))and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)(7 mV at 10 mA cm^(-2)).Experimental results demonstrated that both Cu and Ni modulated the electronic environment around Pt and Au.The electron-rich active center facilitates the rapid adsorption and dissociation of reactants and intermediates for both EOR and HER.Impressively,in the ethanol-assisted overall water splitting(E-OWS),a current density of 10 mA cm^(-2)was achieved at 0.28 V.Moreover,an advanced acid-base self-powered system(A-Bsps)that can achieve a self-powered voltage of 0.59 V was assembled.Accordingly,the self-driven hydrogen production with zero external power supply was realized by integrating A-Bsps with the E-OWS equipment.The interesting results can provide a feasible strategy for designing and developing advanced nanoalloy-based materials for clean energy integration and use in various fields.

Glaucoma is a common and complex neurodegenerative disease characterized by progressive loss of retinal ganglion cells(RGCs)and axons.Currently,there is no effective method to address the cause of RGCs degeneration.However,studies on neuroprotective strategies for optic neuropathy have increased in recent years.Cell replacement and neuroprotection are major strategies for treating glaucoma and optic neuropathy.Regenerative medicine research into the repair of optic nerve damage using stem cells has Received considerable attention.Stem cells possess the potential for multidirectional differentiation abilities and are capable of producing RGCfriendly microenvironments through paracrine effects.This article reviews a thorough researches of recent advances and approaches in stem cell repair of optic nerve injury,raising the controversies and unresolved issues surrounding the future of stem cells.

Floating plants reduced methane fluxes from wetlands by creating a habitat conducive to methane oxidation

Wetlands are one of the important natural sources of atmospheric methane (CH_4),as an important part of wetlands,floating plants can be expected to affect methane release.However,the effects of floating plants on methane release are limited.In this study,methane fluxes,physiochemical properties of the overlying water,methane oxidation potential and rhizospheric bacterial community were investigated in simulated wetlands with floating plants Eichhornia crassipes,Hydrocharis dubia,and Trapa natans.We found that E.crassipes,H.dubia,and T.natans plants could inhibit 84.31%-97.31%,4.98%-88.91%and 43.62%-92.51%of methane fluxes at interface of water-atmosphere compared to Control,respectively.Methane fluxes were negatively related to nutrients concentration in water column but positively related to the aerenchyma proportions of roots,stems,and leaves.At the same biomass,root of E.crassipes (36.44%) had the highest methane oxidation potential,followed by H.dubia (12.99%) and T.natans (11.23%).Forty-five bacterial phyla in total were identified on roots of three plants and 7 bacterial genera (2.10%-3.33%) were known methanotrophs.Type I methanotrophs accounted for 95.07%of total methanotrophs.The pmoA gene abundances ranged from 1.90×10^(16)to 2.30×10^(18)copies/g fresh weight of root biofilms.Abundances of pmoA gene was significantly positively correlated with environmental parameters.Methylotrophy (5.40%) and methanotrophy (3.75%) function were closely related to methane oxidation.This study highlights that floating plant restoration can purify water and promote carbon neutrality partially by reducing methane fluxes through methane oxidation in wetlands.

Drinking water quality & health risk assessment of secondary water supply systems in residential neighborhoods

Secondary water supply systems(SWSSs)are important components of the water supply infrastructure that ensure residents’drinking water safety.SWSSs are characterized by long detention time,warm temperature,and unreasonable management,which may trigger the deterioration of water quality and increase risks.In this study,drinking water quality index(DWQI)and health risk assessment(HRA)were selected and modified to quantitatively assess the water quality and health risks of SWSSs in residential neighborhoods.In total,121 seasonal water samples were selected.It was observed that the water quality was excellent with the DWQI of 0.14±0.04,excluding one sample,which was extremely poor owing to its excessive total bacterial count.The HRA results revealed that the health risks were low:negligible non-carcinogenic risk for any population;negligible and acceptable carcinogenic risk for children aged 6–17 and adults.However,samples revealed higher carcinogenic risk(7.63×10−5±3.29×10−6)for children aged 0–5,and arsenic was the major substance.Summer samples had poor water quality and higher health risks,which called for attention.To further investigate the water quality and health risks of SWSSs,monthly sampling was conducted during summer.All 24 water samples were qualified in Chinese standard(GB 5749-2022)and characterized as excellent quality.Their HRA results were consistent with the seasonal samples’and the health risks were mainly concentrated in May.Overall,our study provides a suitable framework for water quality security,advice for managers,and references for administrators in other cities.

Sperm acrosin activity may be a useful factor in choosing between ICSI and IVF for infertile male patients

The clinical applications of acrosin activity are limited.We analyzed 61578 male partners in infertile couples who visited the outpatient department of the Reproductive and Genetic Hospital of CITIC-Xiangya(Changsha,China)between August 2014 and December 2019 to determine the reference ranges and thresholds for acrosin activity in infertile Chinese men;to determine whether correlations exist between acrosin activity and age,sperm concentration,sperm morphology,or sperm motility;and to evaluate whether acrosin activity could serve as an effective prognostic indicator for choosing between in vitro fertilization(IvF)and intracytoplasmic sperm injection(icsl)in the clinic.The cut-off value for the normal reference range of acrosin activity for male partners in infertile couples was 24.78μlU per 106 sperm.There was no significant association between acrosin activity and age,sperm concentration,semen volume,total sperm count,progressive motility,or total motile spermatozoa.A weak positive correlation was found between acrosin activity and normal sperm morphology.There was a statistically significant difference in abnormal acrosome morphology between the group with high acrosin activity(>24.78μlU per 106 sperm)and the group with low acrosin activity(<24.78μlU per 106 sperm).The group with a low IVF fertilization rate had a high index of abnormal acrosomal morphology at 21.2%,while the group with a high IVF fertilization rate had a low index of 0.2%.At an acrosin activity of<24.78μlU per 10 sperm,in one cycle of the same patient,the fertilization rate,normal fertilization rate,and good-quality embryo rate for Icsl were significantly higher than those for IVF.Therefore,the most promising application of acrosin activity could be in the selection of IcsI over IVF for infertile male patients with complete fertilization failure or a low fertilization rate.

Osteoporosis(OP)is a prevalent metabolic bone disease.While drug therapy is essential to prevent bone loss in osteoporotic patients,current treatments are limited by side effects and high costs,necessitating the development of more effective and safer targeted therapies.Utilizing a zebrafish(Danio rerio)larval model of osteoporosis,we explored the influence of the metabolite spermine on bone homeostasis.Results showed that spermine exhibited dual activity in osteoporotic zebrafish larvae by increasing bone formation and decreasing bone resorption.Spermine not only demonstrated excellent biosafety but also mitigated prednisolone-induced embryonic neurotoxicity and cardiotoxicity.Notably,spermine showcased protective attributes in the nervous systems of both zebrafish embryos and larvae.At the molecular level,Rac1 was identified as playing a pivotal role in mediating the antiosteoporotic effects of spermine,with P53 potentially acting downstream of Rac1.These findings were confirmed using mouse(Mus musculus)models,in which spermine not only ameliorated osteoporosis but also promoted bone formation and mineralization under healthy conditions,suggesting strong potential as a bonestrengthening agent.This study underscores the beneficial role of spermine in osteoporotic bone homeostasis and skeletal system development,highlighting pivotal molecular mediators.Given their efficacy and safety,human endogenous metabolites like spermine are promising candidates for new anti-osteoporotic drug development and daily bone-fortifying agents.
