We report on using synthetic silicon for a high-precision X-ray polarimeter comprising a polarizer and an analyzer,each based on a monolithic channel-cut crystal used at multiple Brewster reflections with a Bragg angle very close to 45°.Experiments were performed at the BL09B bending magnet beamline of the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility using a Si(800)crystal at an X-ray energy of 12.914 keV.A polarization purity of 8.4×10^(-9)was *** result is encouraging,as the measured polarization purity is the best-reported value for the bending magnet ***,this is the firstly systematic study on the hard X-ray polarimeter in China,which is crucial for exploring new physics,such as verifying vacuum birefringence.

For modular multilevel converter-based battery energy storage systems (MMC-BESS), uneven power among batteries of SMs will be deduced by battery aging, battery fault, etc., which will degrade performance and even lead to system failure. For maintaining the balance of capacitor voltage, this paper analyzes the limits of the uneven power of batteries, which are presented as the current limits in this paper. According to analysis, an analytical method is proposed that only the dc and fundamental frequency components of the arm current are used to calculate current limits. With the current limits it is able to evaluate the reasonability of power distribution among batteries. Meanwhile, increase of fundamental frequency component will enhance the current limits, and the dc component determines the size relationship between the absolute values of the upper and lower current limits. Finally, simulation model and experiment prototype are built for verifying the theoretical analysis and current limits calculation method, and satisfactory results are provided.

Safety cases provide clear, comprehensive, and reliable arguments which mean that a system’s operation under a specific environment meets acceptable safety levels. In safety-critical sectors subject to regulations such as automotive, aviation, and nuclear industries, certification authorities often require the system to undergo a rigorous safety assessment process and thus demonstrate that the system complies with one or more safety standards. The safety case utilization in system development is an emerging technical means to express the safety attributes of safety-critical systems in a structured and comprehensive way. This study briefly introduces the four basic steps of building a safety case, including determining the goal, gathering evidence, constructing arguments, and evaluating the case, and then focuses on the key step of constructing arguments. Meanwhile, eight existing forms of safety case expressions are introduced in detail, containing goal structuring notation (GSN), claim-argument-evidence (CAE), and structured assurance case metamodel (SACM), with their strengths and weaknesses analyzed. Given the significant complexity of the materials required for safety cases, software tools are often adopted as practical methods for constructing and evaluating safety cases. Additionally, seven tools for developing and evaluating safety cases are compared, including astah system safety, gsn2x, NOR-STA, Socrates, ASCE, D-Case Editor, and AdvoCATE. Furthermore, this study delves into multiple challenges in building safety cases. These challenges include data reliability and integrity, complexity and uncertainty management, inconsistencies in regulations and standards, human factor engineering, rapid technological advancements, and challenges in team and interdisciplinary collaboration. We study superradiant phase transitions in a hybrid system of a two-dimensional Bose–Einstein condensate of atoms and two cavities arranged with a tilt *** adjusting the loss rate of cavities,we map out the phase diagram of steady states within a mean field *** is found that when the loss rates of the two cavities are different,superradiant transitions may not occur at the same time in the two cavities.A first-order phase transition is observed between the states with only one cavity in superradiance and both in *** the case that both cavities are superradiant,a net photon current is observed flowing from the cavity with small decay rate to the one with large decay *** photon current shows a non-monotonic dependence on the loss rate difference,owing to the competition of photon number difference and cavity field phase *** findings can be realized and detected in experiments.
