Tunable luminescent materials are becoming more and more important owing to their broad application potential in various fields. Here we construct a pillar[5]arene-based hybrid material with stimuli-responsive luminescent properties and ion-sensing abilities from a pyridine-modified conjugated pillar[5]arene and a planar chromophore oligo(phenylenevinylene) upon coordination of Cd(II) metal cores. This new material not only shows an optimized luminescence due to the minimized π–π stacking and efficient charge transfer properties benefitting from the existence of pillar[5]arene rings, but also exhibits tunable multicolor emission induced by different external stimuli including solvent, ions and acid, indicating great application potential as a fluorescent sensory material, especially for Fe3+. With this pillar[5]arene-based dual-ligand hybrid material, valid optimization and regulation on the fluorescence of the original chromophore have been achieved, which demonstrates a plausible strategy for the design of tunable solid-state luminescent materials and also a prototypical model for the effective regulation of fluorescent properties of planarπ systems using synthetic macrocycle-based building blocks.

Electrochemical CO_(2)reduction(ECR)powered by renewable energy sources provides a sustainable avenue to producing carbon-neutral fuels and *** design and development of high performance,cost-effective,and stable catalysts for ECR remain a focus of intense ***,we report a novel electrocatalyst,two-dimensional cadmium-based 1,4-benzenedicarboxylate metal-organic frameworks(Cd-BDC MOFs)which can effectively convert CO_(2)to CO with a faradaic efficiency(FE)of more than80.0%over the voltage range between-0.9 and-1.1 V(versus reversible hydrogen electrode,***)in 0.1 mol·L^(-1) CO_(2)-saturated KHCO_(3)solution with an H-type cell,reaching up to 88.9%at-1.0 V(***).The performance outperforms commercial CdO and many other MOF-based materials demonstrated in prior *** catalytic property can be readily tuned by manipulating synthesis conditions as well as electrolyte ***,high CO FEs exceeding 90.0%can be attained on the Cd-BDC electrode at potentials ranging from-0.16 to-1.06 V(***)in 0.5 mol·L^(-1) KHCO_(3)solution by using a gas diffusion electrode cell *** maximum CO FE approaches~97.6%at-0.26 V(***)and the CO partial geometric current density is as high as about 108.1 mA·cm^(-2) at-1.1 V(***).This work offers an efficient,low cost,and alternative electrocatalyst for CO_(2)transformation.

Language barrier is the main cause of *** language,which is a common language in all the worldwide language families,is difficult to be entirely popularized due to the high cost of learning as well as the technical barrier in real-time *** solve these problems,here,we constructed a wearable organohydrogel-based electronic skin(e-skin)with fast self-healing,strong adhesion,extraor-dinary anti-freezing and moisturizing properties for sign language recognition under complex *** e-skin was obtained by using an acrylic network as the main body,aluminum(III)and bay-berry tannin as the crosslinking agent,water/ethylene glycol as the solvent system,and a polyvinyl al-cohol network to optimize the network *** this e-skin,a smart glove was further built,which could carry out the large-scale data collection of common gestures and sign *** the help of the deep learning method,specific recognition and translation for various gestures and sign lan-guages could be *** accuracy was 93.5%,showing the ultra-high classification accuracy of a sign language *** short,by integrating multiple characteristics and combining deep learning technology with hydrogel materials,the e-skin achieved an important breakthrough in human-computer interaction and artificial intelligence,and provided a feasible strategy for solving the dilemma of mutual exclusion between flexible electronic devices and human bodies.

Sludge reduction with Tubificidae and the impact on the performance of the wastewater treatment process

To reduce excess sludge, a Tubificidae reactor was combined with an integrated oxidation ditch with vertical circle （IODVC）, and a new integrated system was developed for wastewater treatment, A pilot-scale of this integrated system was tested to investigate the sludge reduction with Tubificidae and the impact on effluent quality and sludge production. The dominant worm was Branchnria Sowerbyi in the Tubificidae reactor after inoculation of Branchnria Sowerbyi and Limnodrilns sp., and the maximal volume density of wet Tubificidae in vessels of the Tubificidae reactor was 17600 g/m^3. Two operational modes, treating the excess sludge （first mode） and the returned sludge （second mode） of IODVC by the Tubificidae reactor, were used in this experiment. The results showed that the excess sludge reduction rate was 46.4% in the first mode, and the average sludge yield of the integrated system was 6.19× 10^-5 kg SS/kg COD in the second mode. Though the sludge returned to IODVC via the Tubificidae reactor, it had little impact on the effluent quality and the sludge characteristics of the IODVC. No new type of recalcitrant substance in the supernatant was discharged into the environment when the sludge was treated by Tubificidae. The experimental results also indicated that no significant changes occurred on the viscosity, specific resistance, and the floc size distribution of the sludge.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV)has emerged as a promising novel application for the Sixth-Generation(6G)wireless communication by leveraging more favorable Line-of-Sight(Lo S)***,the jamming resistance by exploiting UAV’s mobility is a new challenge in the UAV-ground *** paper investigates the trajectory planning problem in an UAV communication system,where the UAV is operated by a Ground Control Unit(GCU)to perform certain tasks in the presence of multiple jammers with imperfect power and location *** ensure the reliability of the GCU-to-UAV link,we formulate the problem as a non-convex semi-infinite optimization,aiming to maximize the average worst-case Signal-toInterference-plus-Noise Ratio(SINR)over a given flight duration by designing the robust trajectory of the UAV under stringent energy availability *** handle this problem efficiently,we develop an iterative algorithm for the solution with the aid of S-procedure and Successive Convex Approximation(SCA)*** results demonstrate the efficacy of our proposed algorithm and offer some useful design insights to practical system.

The Multiple Column Platform(MCP) semi-submersible is a newly proposed concept, which differs from the conventional semi-submersibles, featuring centre column and middle pontoon. It is paramount to ensure its structural reliability and safe operation at sea, and a rigorous investigation is conducted to examine the hydrodynamic and structural performance for the novel structure concept. In this paper, the numerical and experimental studies on the hydrodynamic performance of MCP are performed. Numerical simulations are conducted in both the frequency and time domains based on 3D potential theory. The numerical models are validated by experimental measurements obtained from extensive sets of model tests under both regular wave and irregular wave conditions. Moreover, a comparative study on MCP and two conventional semi-submersibles are carried out using numerical ***, the hydrodynamic characteristics, including hydrodynamic coefficients, natural periods and motion response amplitude operators(RAOs), mooring line tension are fully examined. The present study proves the feasibility of the novel MCP and demonstrates the potential possibility of optimization in the future study.

The cross-flow(CF)vortex-induced vibration(VIV)of a deepwater steep wave riser(SWR)subjected to uniform or shear flow loads is investigated *** model is based on a three-dimensional(3D)nonlinear elastic rod theory coupled with a wake oscillator *** this numerical simulation,the nonlinear motion equations of the riser with large deformation features are established in a global coordinate system to avoid the transformation between global and local coordinate systems,and are discretized with the time-domain finite element method(FEM).A wakeoscillator model is employed to study the vortex shedding,and the lift force generated by the wake flow is described in a van der Pol equation.A Newmark-βiterative scheme is used to solve their coupling equation for the VIV response of the *** developed model is validated against the existing experimental results for the VIV response of the top-tension riser(TTR).Then,the numerical simulations are executed to determine VIV characteristics of the *** effects of both flow velocity and the spanwise length of the flow field on the drag coefficient in the inline(IL)direction and the lift coefficient in the CF direction are investigated *** results indicate that compared with TTR,the low frequency and multi-modal vibration are the main components of the SWR due to the large deformation and flexible *** shear flow,the multi-frequency resonance dominates the VIV response of the SWR,especially at the hang-off segment.

Steel production involves the transfer and transformation of material and energy at different levels, structures, and scales, and this process incurs substantial information in the material and energy dimensions. Given the black-box feature of iron and steel production processes, process visualization plays an important role and inevitably benefits parameter correction, technical support decision-making, personnel training, and other aspects of the steel metallurgy industry. The technological characteristics of the entire process in the steel industry were analyzed in this study, a visualization technology route based on virtual reality(VR) was built, and the important components of visual simulation system for steel industry and the important technical points needed to realize the system were proposed. On the foundation, a visual simulation model for the process scheduling of the iron and steel enterprise raw materials' field, slab, and hot rolling processes was built, and a visualization simulation platform of the iron and steel metallurgy plant-wide process, including ironmaking, steelmaking, hot rolling, and cold rolling, was developed. Lastly, the effectiveness of platform was illustrated by practical application.
