Evaporate prediction and compensation of intake port wall-wetting fuel film for spark ignition engines fueled with ethanol-gasoline blends

The fuel dynamic transfer process,including fuel injection,fuel film deposition and evaporation in the intake port,was analyzed for spark ignition(SI) engines with port fuel injection(PFI).The influence of wall-wetting fuel film,especially its evaporation rate,upon the air-fuel ratio of in-cylinder mixtures was also *** to the similarity principle,Fick's law,the ideal gas equation and the Gilliland correlation,an evaporate prediction model of wall-wetting fuel film was set up and an evaporate prediction based dynamic fuel film compensator was *** engine cold start tests,the wall-wetting temperature,which is the key input of the fuel film evaporate prediction model,was also modeled and *** with the experimental data of the evaporation characteristics of ethanol-gasoline blends and engine calibration tests,all the parameters of the wall-wetting fuel film evaporate prediction model used in the fuel film compensator were ***-wave disturbance tests of fuel injection showed that with the help of the fuel film compensator the response of the in-cylinder air-fuel ratio was significantly improved and the real air-fuel ratio always closely matched the expected *** fuel film compensator was then integrated into the final air-fuel ratio controller,and the engine tests showed that the air-fuel ratio control error was less than 2% in steady-state conditions,and less than 4% in transient *** fuel film compensator also showed good adaptability to different ethanol-gasoline blends.

Aptamer-silver nanoparticles （AgNPs） based surface-enhanced Raman scattering （SERS） sensor has been developed for Hg^2＋ detection by employing the structure-switching aptamer in the presence of spermine. This simple method shows excellent sensitivity and selectivity owing to the sensitive SERS detection technique and high specificity of aptamer for binding Hg^2＋.

Evaluation of 3D crustal seismic velocity models in southwest China:Model performance,limitation,and prospects

Southwest China is a tectonically and seismically active region,witnessing strong deformation due to the collision between the Indian and Eurasian *** the subsurface velocity structure of this region is thus important in understanding the tectonics and geodynamic processes of continental collision and in mitigating seismic *** studies have provided various 3D seismic velocity models in southwest ***,discrepancies exist among these models,and less effort has been made to quantify the reliability and accuracy of these existing velocity *** this study,we use regional 3D waveform simulation to evaluate the performance of various regional crustal 3D velocity models in reproducing observed *** particularly focus on two recent earthquake sequence in the region,the 2021 Yunnan Yangbi MS_(6.4) earthquake sequence and the 2022 Sichuan Luding MS_(6.8) earthquake *** tested 3D velocity models include the Southwest China Community Velocity model V1.0,the Unified Seismic Tomography Models for Continental China Lithosphere V2.0,the adjoint full waveform tomography model of the crustal and upper mantle beneath Eastern Tibetan Plateau,and the shallow seismic structure model beneath continental *** results show that the tested 3D velocity models generally capture well long-period(<0.2 Hz)waveforms,indicating that the 3D models adequately resolve overall large-scale subsurface ***,the 3D synthetics show discrepancies in higher frequencies(0.05–0.3 Hz)and the performance of the 3D velocity models varies from region to region,suggesting that smaller scale heterogeneities are not well *** shallow velocity structures(<10 km)can improve the waveform fitting,emphasizing the importance of incorporating shallow structures in waveform *** full-waveform tomography model shows a slighter better performance than the other models,especially for the body-waves,highlighting the advantages

Electrokinetic pumping system based on nanochannel membrane for liquid delivery

Nonmechanical pumping of liquids is of key importance for applications from the biomedical microfluidic chip to drug delivery systems. In this paper, a new electrokinetic pump （EOP） system with polycarbonate nanoehannel membrane sandwiched between two membrane holders was constructed. The pump was tested with water and phosphate buffer at 1-6 V applied voltage, the maximum pressure and flow rate are 0.32 MPa （3.2 atm） and 4.2 μL/min for phosphate buffer, respectively. This proof-of-concept pump shows its potential use for drugs or chemical agents delivery by the usage of different membrane materials.

Automated Identification of Ordered Phases for Simulation Studies of Block Copolymers

In unit cell simulations,identification of ordered phases in block copolymers(BCPs)is a tedious and time-consuming task,impeding the advancement of more streamlined and potentially automated research *** this study,we propose a scattering-based automated identification strategy(SAIS)for characterization and identification of ordered phases of BCPs based on their computed scattering *** approach leverages the scattering theory of perfect crystals to efficiently compute the scattering patterns of periodic morphologies in a unit *** the first stage of the SAIS,phases are identified by comparing reflection conditions at a sequence of Miller *** confirm or refine the identification results of the first stage,the second stage of the SAIS introduces a tailored residual between the test phase and each of the known candidate ***,our strategy incorporates a variance-like criterion to distinguish background species,enabling its extension to multi-species BCP *** has been demonstrated that our strategy achieves exceptional accuracy and robustness while requiring minimal computational ***,the approach allows for real-time expansion and improvement to the candidate phase library,facilitating the development of automated research workflows for designing specific ordered structures and discovering new ordered phases in BCPs.

Tuning the Electrically Conductive Network of Grafted Nanoparticles in Polymer Nanocomposites by the Shear Field

Contolling the formation of the conductive network in the polymer nanocomposites(PNCs)is very meaningful to enhance their electrical *** this work,we investigated the effect of grafted nanoparticles(NPs)on the conductive probability of PNCs in the quiescent state as well as under the shear field via a coarse grained molecular dynamics *** is found that the smallest percolation threshold is realized at the moderate grafting density,the moderate length of grafted chains or the moderate interaction between grafted chains and free *** to it,the dispersion state of NPs varies from the contact aggregation to the uniform *** analyzing the connection mode among NPs,the probabilty of NPs which connect three other ones reaches the maximum value at their moderate dispersion state which is responsible for the optimal conductive *** addition,the main cluster size is characterized to better understand the conductive network which is consistent with the percolation *** is interesting to find that the percolation threshold is smaller under the shear field than under the quiescent *** shear field induces more NPs which connect three other *** benefits the formation of the new conductive ***,the anisotropy of the conductive probability is reduced with increasing the grafting *** summary,this work provides a clear picture on how the conductive network of grafted NPs evolves under the shear field.

Use of Capillary Electrophoresis in the Study of Interaction between dsDNA and Drug Molecules

Two 17-mer dsDNA with different sequence characteristics were designed to investigate the binding characteristics of berberine, an anticancer drug with uncertain binding mode, and Hoechst 33258, a model DNA minor groove binder, with dsDNA, respectively by the capillary zone electrophoresis （CZE）. Kenndler model analysis revealed that Hoechst 33258 exhibited intermediate affinity with dsDNA, while there was only low affinity and some weak binding preference for AATT-containing to GGCC-containing dsDNA for berberine.

A Strong, Tough, and Self-Healing Strengthening Thioctic Acid-based Elastomer for Highly Reliable Flexible Strain Sensor

Elastomers with high strength and toughness, excellent self-healing properties, and biocompatibility have broad application prospects in wearable electronics and other fields, but preparing it remains a challenge. In this work, we propose a highly adaptable strategy by introducing the small molecule crosslinking agent of triethanolamine (TEA) to the poly(thioctic acid)(PTA) chains and preparing the PAx Ey elastomers using a simple synthesis step. This strategy stabilizes the PTA chains by constructing multiple non-covalent cross-linked dynamic networks, endowing materials with excellent strength and toughness (tensile strength of 288 kPa, toughness of 278.2 kJ/m3), admirable self-healing properties (self-healing efficiency of 121.6%within 7 h at 70°C), and good biocompatibility. The PAx Ey elastomers can also be combined with MWNTs to become flexible strain sensors, which can be used to monitor human joint movements with high sensitivity, repeatable responses, and stability.

Sn-doped cobalt containing perovskite as the air electrode for highly active and durable reversible protonic ceramic electrochemical cells

One potential solution to the problems of energy storage and conversion is the use of reversible protonic ceramic electrochemical cells(R-PCEC),which are based on the solid oxide fuel cell(SOFC)technology and offer a flexible route to the generation of renewable ***,the R-PCEC development faces a range of significant challenges,including slow oxygen reaction kinetics,inadequate durability,and poor round-trip efficiency resulting from the inadequacy of an air *** address these issues,we report novel B-sites doped Pr_(0.5)Ba_(0.5)Co_(0.7)Fe_(0.3)O_(3−δ)(PBCF)with varying amounts of Sn as the air electrode for R-PCEC to further enhance electrochemical performance at lower *** 600℃,R-PCEC with an air electrode consisting of Pr_(0.5)Ba_(0.5)Co_(0.7)Fe_(0.25)Sn_(0.05)O_(3+δ)has achieved peak power density of 1.12 W∙cm^(−2) in the fuel cell mode and current density of 1.79 A∙cm^(−2) in the electrolysis mode at a voltage of 1.3 ***,R-PCECs have shown good stability in the electrolysis mode of 100 *** study presents a practical method for developing durable high-performance air electrodes for R-PCECs.

Exogenous insulin autoimmune syndrome:A case report and review of literature

BACKGROUND Insulin autoimmune syndrome(IAS)is a severe manifestation of spontaneous *** is characterized by elevated levels of immune-reactive insulin and highly potent insulin autoantibodies(IAAs),which are induced by endogenous insulin circulating in the *** is distinguished by recurring instances of spontaneous hypoglycemia,the presence of IAA within the body,a substantial elevation in serum insulin levels,and an absence of prior exogenous insulin ***,recent studies show that both conventional insulin and its analogs can induce IAS episodes,giving rise to the notion of nonclassical ***,more attention should be paid to these *** SUMMARY In this case report,we present a rare case of non-classical IAS in an 83-year-old male patient who present with symptoms of a psychiatric *** symptom onset,the patient exhibited Whipple's triad(including hypoglycemia,blood glucose level less than 2.8 mmol/L during onset,and rapid relief of hypoglycemic symptoms after glucose administration).Concurrently,his serum insulin level was significantly elevated,which contradicted his C-peptide *** a comprehensive examination,the patient was diagnosed with exogenous insulin autoimmune *** that the patient had type 2 diabetes mellitus and a history of exogenous insulin use before disease onset,it was presumed that non classical IAS was induced by this *** PubMed database was used to search for previous cases of IAS and non-classical IAS to analyze their characteristics and treatment *** The occurrence of non-classical IAS is associated with exogenous insulin or its analogs,as well as with sulfhydryl *** can be effectively alleviated through the discontinuation of relevant medications,administration of hormones or immunosuppressants,plasma exchange,and lifestyle adjustments.
