Effects of biochars on the bioaccessibility of phenanthrene/pyrene/zinc/lead and microbial community structure in a soil under aerobic and anaerobic conditions

The immobilization of co-contaminants of organic and inorganic pollutants by biochar is an efficient remediation strategy. However, the effect of biochar amendments on the bioaccessibility of the co-contaminants in dry versus flooded soils has rarely been compared. In batch experiments, bamboo-derived biochar（BB） had a higher sorption capacity for phenanthrene（Phe）/pyrene（Pyr）/zinc（Zn） than corn straw-derived biochar（CB）, while CB had a higher sorption capacity for lead（Pb） than BB. After 150 days of incubation, the amendments of 2% CB, 0.5% BB and 2% BB effectively suppressed the dissipation and reduced the bioaccessibility of Phe/Pyr by 15.65%/18.02%, 17.07%/18.31%and 25.43%/27.11%, respectively, in the aerobic soils. This effectiveness was more significant than that in the anaerobic soils. The accessible Zn/Pb concentrations were also significantly lower in the aerobic soils than in the anaerobic soils, regardless of *** Gram-negative bacterial biomass and the Shannon–Weaver index in the aerobic soil amended with 2% CB were the highest. The soil microbial community structure was jointly affected by changes in the bioaccessibility of the co-contaminants and the soil physiochemical properties caused by biochar amendments under the two conditions. Therefore, dry land farming may be more reliable than paddy soil cultivation at reducing the bioaccessibility of Phe/Pyr/Zn/Pb and enhancing the soil microbial diversity in the short term.

Bandwidth Allocation with Minimum Rate Constraints in Cluster-based Femtocell Networks

Inter-femtocell interference becomes serious when femtocells are densely deployed. To mitigate the inter-femtocell interference, this paper proposes a cluster-based bandwidth allocation algorithm. We create femtocell clusters by constructing a weighted interference graph and allocate bandwidth to each cluster based on a Nash bargaining solution(NBS). Simulation results show that the cluster-based bandwidth allocation algorithm can reduce the inter-femtocell interference and meet the minimum rate constraint of each cluster.

The magic of integration:Exploring the construction of dithienylethene-based infinite coordination polymers and their synergistic effect for gaseous ammonia probe applications

Infinite coordination polymers are recognized as excellent platform for *** motifs,which are one of the most attractive functional moieties,were incorporated into an infinite coordination polymer,to deliver a‘‘smart’’porous material that can response to external *** obtained dithienylethene-based infinite coordination polymers（named Cu-DTEDBA）share the advantages of both infinite coordination polymers（porosity and stability）and dithienylethene motifs（photochromism）.The physical and chemical properties of Cu-DTEDBA were characterized by FTIR,TEM,SEM,XRD,TGA,UV–vis,EDX and ***,the combination of dithienylethene and infinite coordination polymers gives rise to a synergistic effect,which induces functional behaviors of ammonia sensor *** open and closed forms of Cu-DTEDBA exhibit distinct colorimetric change upon exposure to gaseous ammonia,which is not observed in dithienylethene free molecules.

Selective synthesis of nitrate from air using a plasma-driven gas-liquid relay reaction system

The direct oxidation of nitrogen is a potential pathway to achieving the zero-carbon-emission synthesis of nitric acid or nitrate, because it does not involve ammonia synthesis and additional ammonia oxidation processes. However, the slow kinetics of nitrogen oxidation and the difficult selective control of oxidation products hinder the development of this process. In this study, a plasma-driven gas-liquid relay reaction system was developed to overcome these limitations. A typical feature of this reaction system is that it can efficiently generate NO_x under plasma exposure;moreover, the specific anions in the absorption solution can be oxidized to strong oxidants capable of relay oxidation of low-valence nitrogen oxides. This feature allows for the deep oxidation of nitrogen, thus enabling the oxidation products of nitrogen to exist in high-valence states in the absorption solution. For experimental verification, we achieved the 100% selective synthesis of nitrate under plasma exposure, with air as the supply gas and a sodium sulfate solution as the absorption solution.

Large-scale carambola-like V_(2)O_(5) nanoflowers arrays on microporous reed carbon as improved electrochemical performances lithium-ion batteries cathode

To search for new cathode materials with high energy density of Lithium-ion batteries(LIBs) is one of the most challenging issues. Vanadium pentoxide(V2 O5) with high theoretical specific capacity is believed to be a promising candidate for the next generation cathode materials, yet still suffers from low lithium ion diffusion coefficient and poor electronic conductivity resulting in low cycling life and poor rate performances. Here, we report new large-scale carambola-like V2 O5 nanoflowers arrays anchored on microporous reed carbon as high performances LIBs cathode. Each individual pore space of the microporous reed carbon is like a hexagonal cylinder, and the area of each carbon wall is more than103 um2, which is favorable for the growth of V2 O5 nanostructure arrays. After hydrothermal, the largescale carambola-like V2 O5 nanoflowers arrays can directly grow on the surface of microporous *** to the novel composite structures, the V2 O5 nanoflowers arrays@microporous carbon stabilizes at273 mA h g^(-1) after 100 cycles at 0.2 C. When cycling at 1.0 C over 500 cycles, the capacity still maintains at 180 mAh g^(-1). The demonstrated approach in this work paves the way for the development of high rate capability and excellent cycling stability V2 O5-based cathode materials.

Luminescence properties of nitrogen-rich Ca-SiAlON:Eu2+ phosphors prepared by freeze-drying assisted combustion synthesis

Nitrogen-rich Eu2+-doped Ca-α-SiAlON phosphors(Cam/2-xSi12-m-nAlm+nOnN16-n:xEu) were synthesized by a freeze-drying assisted combustion synthesis(CS) route. Fast-synthesized products with high purity and uniform particle morphology were confirmed by X-ray diffraction(XRD) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM). The analysis of lattice parameters by comparison with empirical equations showed that the as-prepared phosphors had low oxygen content. A series of samples were prepared according to the stoichiometry of Cam/2-0.08Si12-mAlmN16:0.08 Eu for further research. The influences of m value on the luminescence properties were investigated in detail. As m increased, a redshift phenomenon was observed in both the excitation and emission spectra. First-principle electronic structure calculations showed that the 3d energy level of Ca played an important role in the occurrence of the redshift phenomenon.

Based on the crystal structures of two cucurbit[6]uril/calix[n]arene-based supramolecular frameworks reported by Long and co-workers,we further investigated the interactions of cucurbit[6]uril with 4-sulfocalix[4]arene and 4-sulfocalix[6]arene using ^(1)H NMR spectroscopy and isothermal titration calorimetry(ITC),***,solid fluorescent materials were prepared via the adsorption of fluorescent dyes by these porous supramolecular frameworks,which exhibit a selective response to certain volatile organic compounds.

Based on Chaboche constitutive model,a viscoplastic constitutive model of nickel-based alloy under multiaxial loading is proposed by introducing Lemaitre damage model and non-proportional hardening *** damage model can characterize the effect of microscopic defects on the fatigue behavior and non-proportional hardening factor is used to describe non-proportional hardening ***,the stress–strain hysteresis loops at room and high temperatures under different loading conditions are simulated by the proposed constitutive *** between experiments and simulations confirms that the proposed model can reasonably predict the fatigue behavior of nickel-based alloy under different multiaxial *** last,the fatigue life predictions under different multiaxial loadings are investigated,and comparison between experiments and simulations verifies the accuracy of the proposed model.

Based on the experimental and theoretical methods,the NO selective catalytic oxidation process was *** experimental results indicated that lattice oxygen was the active site for NO oxide over the α-MnO_(2)(110) *** the theoretical study,DFT (density functional theory) and periodic slab modeling were performed on an α-MnO_(2)(110) surface,and two possible NO oxidation mechanisms over the surface were *** non-defectα-MnO_(2)(110) surface showed the highest stability,and the surface Os(the second layer oxygen atoms) position was the most active and stable site.O_(2)molecule enhanced the joint adsorption process of two NO *** reaction process,including O_(2)dissociation and O=N-O-O-N=O formation,was calculated to carry out the NO catalytic oxidation mechanism over α-MnO_(2)(110).The results showed that NO oxidation over the α-MnO_(2)(110) surface exhibited the greatest possibility following the route of O=N-O-O-N=O ***,the formation of O=N-O-O-N=O was the rate-determining step.

Influence of drying and calcination temperatures for Ce-Cu-Al trimetallic composite catalyst on simultaneous removal H_(2)S and PH_(3):Experimental and DFT studies

This work explored the influences of the drying and calcination temperatures on a Ce-Cu-Al trimetallic composite catalyst for the simultaneous removal of H_(2)S and PH_(3).The effects of both temperatures on the structural features and activity were *** density functional theory method was used to calculate adsorption energies and further analyze their adsorption behavior on different *** revealed suitable drying and calcination temperatures to be 60 and 500℃,*** capacity reached 323.8 and 288.1 mg/*** drying temperature to 60℃is more inclined to form larger and structured grains of *** calcinating temperature to 500℃could increase the grain size and redox capacity of CuO to promote *** temperatures would destroy the surface structure and lead to a crystal phase transformation,which was that the CuO and Al_(2)O_(3)were gradually recombined into CuAl_(2)O_(4)with a spinel *** exposed crystal planes of surficial CuO and CuAl_(2)O_(4)were determined according to characterization *** results showed that,compared with CuO(111),H_(2)S and PH_(3)have weaker adsorption strength on CuAl_(2)O_(4)(100)which is not conducive to their adsorption and removal.
