Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is associated with mutations in lipopolysaccharide-binding protein(LBP),but the underlying epigenetic mechanisms remain ***,LBP^(-/-)rats with NAFLD were established and used to conduct integrative targetingactive enhancer histone H3 lysine 27 acetylation(H3K27ac)chromatin immunoprecipitation coupled with high-throughput and transcriptomic sequencing analysis to explore the potential epigenetic pathomechanisms of active enhancers of NAFLD exacerbation upon LBP ***,LBP^(-/-)reduced the inflammatory response but markedly aggravated high-fat diet(HFD)-induced NAFLD in rats,with pronounced alterations in the histone acetylome and regulatory *** total,1128 differential enhancer-target genes significantly enriched in cholesterol and fatty acid metabolism were identified between wild-type(WT)and LBP^(-/-)NAFLD *** on integrative analysis,CCAAT/enhancer-binding proteinβ(C/EBPβ)was identified as a pivotal transcription factor(TF)and contributor to dysregulated histone acetylome H3K27ac,and the lipid metabolism gene SCD was identified as a downstream effector exacerbating *** study not only broadens our understanding of the essential role of LBP in the pathogenesis of NAFLD from an epigenetics perspective but also identifies key TF C/EBPβand functional gene SCD as potential regulators and therapeutic targets.

Review of photoinduced effect in manganite films and their heterostructures

light–matter interaction plays an important role in the non-equilibrium physics, especially in strongly correlated electron systems with complex phases. Photoinduced effect can cause the variation in the physical properties and produce some emergent phases. As a classical archetype, manganites have received much attention due to their colossal magnetoresistance（CMR） effect and the strong interaction of charge, spin, orbital, and lattice degrees of freedom. In this paper, we give an overview of photoinduced effect in manganites and their heterostructures. In particular, some materials, including ZnO, Si,BiFeO3（BFO）, titanate-based oxides, and 0.7 Pb（Mg（1/3） Nb（2/3））O3-0.3 PbTiO3（PMN-PT） have been integrated with manganites. Heterostructures composed of these materials display some exciting and intriguing properties. We do hope that this review offers a guiding idea and more meaningful physical phenomena will be discovered in active areas of solid state physics and materials science.

Transient Expression of Exogenous Gene into Plant Cell Mediated by PEI Nanovector

This study was carried out to investigate the transfection effect of exogenous gene into plant protoplast cell mediated by polyethylenimine （PEI） nanovector, based on PEI gene delivery system in the field of medical science. PEI/DNA complexes were prepared by using PEI polymer to bind the plant expression plasmid, pCMl205-GFPn. The ability of PEI combining and protecting DNA was investigated by agarose gel electrophoresis retardation assay. The surface characteristics of PEI/DNA complexes were observed with transmission electron microscope. The transfection efficiency of Arabidopsis thaliana protoplasts mediated by PEI/DNA complexes at different N/P ratios was analyzed based on observation of transient expression of green fluorescent protein with confocal laser scanning microscope. PEI could bind and condense DNA, and form stable 100-200 nm PEI/DNA complexes when the proportion of PEl and DNA is in the range of 5：1-1：4. Transfection efficiency of PEI/DNA complexes increased with N/P ratios in range of N/P〈5 and reached the highest at N/P=5, and began to decrease beyond N/P〉5 as higher toxicity to cells. The transfection efficiency of PEI/DNA complexes at N/P=5 was higher than PEG. This study confirmed that PEI nanovector could effectively mediate foreign gene entering into A. thaliana protoplast cell to obtain transient expression, which may be developed as a hopeful and novel transgenic method combined with plant protoplast regeneration.

Spermatozoal protein profiles in male infertility with asthenozoospermia

Background Infertility is a major medical and social problem, and elementary research on the spermatozoal proteins and their functions are relatively scarce and there are very few confirmed and effective options for the treatment of male infertility. Thus, it is essential to find candidate proteins that affect male infertility. This study was designed to detect the proteins with differential expression in sperm from infertile patients and normal *** Semen samples from patients with idiopathic asthenozoospermia （n=114） and from fertile men with normal spermiograms （n=37） were collected. Semen sample analysis, sperm protein extraction, SDS-PAGE electrophoresis and Western blotting analysis were performed. Results were analyzed by SPSS 16.0 statistical *** Western blotting analysis of spermatic proteins displayed a major differentially expressed protein in spermatozoa from fertile and idiopathic asthenozoospermia patients. Densities and volumes of the identified protein in the patients were significantly decreased compared to normal donors （P=0.034 and P=0.036, respectively）. The protein was identified as DEAD-box protein 4 （DDX4, VASA）. The expression and correction value （CV） of DDX4/VASA in the patients was reduced significantly compared to normal donors （P=0.037 and P=0.031, respectively）.Conclusions The expression of spermatic protein DDX4/VASA associates with spermatic motility, implying that DDX4NASA may be a candidate marker for evaluation of spermatic motility.

Effect of Nickel on Formation Mechanisms of Silico-ferrite of Calcium and Aluminum(SFCA)

Under the pressures of both the de＇crease of high-grade high quality iron ore resources and the increase of raw material costs, the iron and steel enter＇prises in China turn to adopt iron ores which contain special elements such as nickel, manganese, etc. in the sintering blend. Anaiytica｜ reagents were used for sintering experiments, and the sinters were analyzed with X-ray diffraction, s6ailning electron microscopy and mineralogical microscopy to study the effect of nickel on the silico ferrite of calcium and aluminum （SF（＇A） bonding phase formation during sinte- ring. The results indicated that SFCA was divided into nickel containing and nickel-free areas due to the presence of nickel. The increasing content of nickel would greatly reduce the content of SFCA and promote the formation of calcium aluminum silicate. A great deal of Fe2 Oa participated in the crystal transition to Fe3 O3 , reducing the a mount of Fe2O2 involved in the formation of calcium ferrite. When the blending ratio of NiO, which is used to provide the nickel in the sintering process, is less than 3 % , the calcium ferrite is in substantially interleaving cot rosion with hematite and magnetite. Both the porosity and silicate glass phase content are low, which contributes to the sintering production.

Dual-salt poly(tetrahydrofuran) electrolyte enables quasi-solid-state lithium metal batteries to operate at -30 ℃

The stable operation of solid-state lithium metal batteries at low temperatures is plagued by severe restrictions from inferior electrolyte-electrode interface compatibility and increased energy barrier for li^(+)***,we prepare a dual-salt poly(tetrahydrofuran)-based electrolyte consisting of lithium hexafluorophosphate and lithium difluoro(oxalato)borate(liDFOB).The li-salt anions(DFOB−)not only accelerate the ring-opening polymerization of tetrahydrofuran,but also promote the formation of highly ion-conductive and sustainable interphases on li metal anodes without sacrificing the li^(+)conductivity of electrolytes,which is favorable for li^(+)transport kinetics at low *** of this polymer electrolyte in li||liFePO_(4)cells show 82.3%capacity retention over 1000 cycles at 30℃and endow stable discharge capacity at−30℃.Remarkably,the li||liFePO4 cells retain 52%of their room-temperature capacity at−20℃and 0.1 *** rational design of dual-salt polymer-based electrolytes may provide a new perspective for the stable operation of quasi-solid-state batteries at low temperatures.

Microstructure and mechanical properties of friction-stir-welded high-Mg-alloyed Al-Mg alloy plates at different rotating rates

Hot-rolled high-Mg-alloyed Al-Mg alloy(Al-9.2 Mg-0.8 Mn-0.2 Zr-0.15 Ti,labeled as 5 A12)plates were successfully friction stir welded at rotating rates ranging from 750 to 1500 r·min^(-1) at a constant welding speed of50 mm·min^(-1).The joints were characterized by optical microscopy(OM),electron backscatter diffraction(EBSD),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),electron-dispersive spectroscopy(EDS),and tensile *** the joints are volume defectfree and exhibit fine,equiaxed dynamic recrystallization(DRX)grains with high-angle grain boundaries(HAGBs)fractions of 88.6%-93.3%in the nugget zones(NZs).The DRX grain size and the second-phase particle size in the NZs have a parabolic relation with the rotating ***,among the joints tested,the joint prepared at1000 r·min^(-1),which has the highest ultimate tensile strength((478±3)MPa)and the largest elongation to rupture(22.5%±1.4%)—approximately 87.5%and145.2%those of the base metal,respectively,exhibits the smallest grain size of 2.93μm,as well as the smallest particle size in the *** excellent mechanical properties can be ascribed to the combined effects of the fine DRX grains with high fraction of HAGBs and the fine second-phase particles with a uniform distribution.

Whole Lung Lavage Treatment of Chinese Patients with Autoimmune Pulmonary Alveolar Proteinosis： A Retrospective Long-term Follow-up Study

Background： Pulmonary alveolar proteinosis （PAP） is a rare lung disease, the most common type of which is autoimmune PAP. The gold standard therapy for PAP is whole lung lavage （WLL）. Few studies have reported the optimal technique with which to evaluate the response to WLL. In this study, we aimed to identify parameters with which to assess the need for repeat WLL during a long-term 8-year follow-up. Methods： We conducted a retrospective analysis of 120 patients with autoimmune PAP with 80 of whom underwent WLL. Physiologic, serologic, and radiologic features of the patients were analyzed during an 8-year follow-up after the first WLL treatment. Results： Of the 40 patients without any intervention, 39 patients either achieved remission or remained stable and only one died of pulmonary infection. Of the 56 patients who underwent WLL for 1 time, 55 remained free from a second WLL and 1 patient died of cancer. Twenty-four required additional treatments after their first WLL. The baseline PaO2, （P = 0.000）, PA-aO2 （P = 0.000）, shunt fraction rate （P = 0.001）, percent of predicted normal diffusing capacity of the lung for carbon monoxide （DLCO%Pred）（P = 0.016）, 6-rain walk test （P = 0.013）, carcinoembryonic antigen （CEA）（P = 0.007）, and neuron-specific enolase （NSE）（P = 0.003） showed significant differences among the three groups. The need for a second WLL was significantly associated with PaO2 （P = 0.000）, CEA （P= 0.050）, the 6-minute walk test （P= 0.026）, and DLCO%Pred （P = 0.041 ）. The DLCO%Pred on admission with a cut-off value of42.1% （P = 0.001） may help to distinguish whether patients with PAP require a second WLL. Conclusions： WLL is the optimal treatment method for PAP and provides remarkable improvements for affected patients. The DLCO%Pred on admission with a cut-offvalue of 42.1% may distinguish whether patients with PAP require a second WLL.

The synthesis of novel 1-arylsulfonyl -4- （1＇-N -2＇, 3＇, 4＇, 6＇-tetra-O-acetyl-β-D-gluco- pyranosyl） thiosemicarbazides via condensation of 2, 3, 4, 6-tetra-O-acetyl-β-D-glucopyranosyl isothiocyanate with substituted phenylsulfonyl hydrazines was described. Their structures and physical properties were confirmed by ^1H NMR, ^13C NMR spectra, elemental analysis and MS.
